When the sun goes over the edge of the horizon, beautiful things happen. A gorgeous array of warm colors paint the sky in a perfect blend. The sound of the owls hooting in the darkness cut through the silence of sleep. And the loving memories between loved ones, whether family, friend, partner.
There was loud laughter coming from outside Luz and Amity’s shared room, only the occasional shush breaking through the giggle fits. The two were sitting on the bed, Amity wrapped in her sensory-safe fuzzy blanket, and Luz in theirs. Luz’s bat phone was held between the two, as the light of the screen barely illuminated their close faces.
You see, they had a tradition. Every first friday of the month, they would stay home, get their favorite takeout food from the Human Realm (Amity’s In and Out, Luz’s Chipotle), get into their favorite comfy clothes, put on a quiet playlist as background noise, and read poorly written smut storiesin different funny accents.
It started when they were all originally trapped in the Human Realm, and Luz decided to share this genre of stories with Amity, Willow, and Vee. Willow didn’t think it was the peak of humor, but did find fun in doing it on the odd occasion. On the contrary, the couple thought it was the most amazing thing to have ever happened to them.
Vee wasn’t able to join the two this time, and so rather than have it the Human Realm as per how it normally went, they had it in their own home. So, they laughed loudly, with reckless abandon, with Jenny by Studio Killers blaring behind them. Amity raised her hands and grabbed the sides of Luz’s face, and mouthed with absurd expression, “I wanna ruin our friendship! We should be lovers instead!”
Luz reciprocated, mirroring Amity by moving his hands to grip her face, and mouthed back, “I don’t know how to say this. Cause you’re really my truest friend!” Giving the purple haired witch little kisses all over her face. Amity pushed back at Luz with no real intention from escaping her girlfriend, and finally caught her breath. “Luz! C’mon let’s just finish the fic!” Amity squeaked, giggling most of the time.
“Okay, okay, okay! I’ll start!” Luz resigned, clearing her throat before accidentally making eye contact with Amity and losing all sense of seriousness, divulging into another fit of laughter.
“I thought you were gonna start!” Amity chuckled, rubbing Luz’s back as he leaned forward with silent laughter.
“I was! But then I saw you giggling and died again!” Luz gasped out, laughter causing actual shortness of breath.
“Luz you fucking lovebird, read it! PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEEEE?” Amity faux begged, her hands starting to tickle her partner in rebellion to their traitorous laughter. Luz squealed in response, convulsing with giggles and simply instinct beneath her girlfriend.
“FINEFINEFINEFINE, JUST PLEASE STOP TICKLING ME!” Luz gasped out in glee, now laying across Amity’s crossed legs. Amity made a ‘considering’ face, her pointer finger tapping her chin.
“Okay I guess,” Amity relented, her hands now soothingly combing through Luz’s hair, careful to miss any possible knots forming. I’ve got you right where I want you, Luz thought, and in an act of revenge, grabbed Amity’s waist and dragged her backwards so she was laying across from Luz. Amity shrieked joyfully as she was dragged backwards, her giggles finally subsiding as she looked into Luz’s loving gaze.
“I love you so so much Miss Blight,” Luz comfortably sighed, grasping one of her cold hands.
“And I love you so so much Miss Noceda,” Amity comfortably responded, melting into Luz’s warmth. “Now come on, we have bad smut to finish in a New Zealand accent,” she resolved, kissing Luz’s nose before reaching for her phone again.
So under the setting sun, the two continued to laugh their hearts out, creating beautiful memories that no one would dare try to take.
