Through Rain and Snow

Summary:

“I hear there are some good vampire snacks in here so that Kacchan can have some too when he comes home!” Izuku added, and Shoto snorted softly as he pushed himself up and walked over to him.

Shoto hummed in thought as he watched the rain come pouring down. Izuku was lying on the floor by the fireplace and Shoto smiled to himself.

“You’re home!” He faintly heard Izuku murmur as he latched onto Katsuki, having rushed towards him and tried to tackle him in a hug. Shoto was content to wait until Katsuki came to him.

“Hello, little wolf,” Katsuki kissed Shoto’s temple as he appeared by his side, Izuku on his back.

“How do you do that?” Katsuki asked in mild surprise.

“Shifters secret, little fang.” Shoto responded with a smile as Izuku came inside.

“Oh! Hot Chocolate! Thank you Kacchan, thank you Shoto.” He smiled innocently.

“He has yet to eat,” Katsuki nodded as he turned and walked towards the kitchen, determination set in his shoulders. Shoto would never be able to pull Izuku from his work, but Katsuki could.

Work Text:

Shoto hummed in content, purring quietly as he held Izuku against his side. The greenette had been having terrible nightmares recently and only seemed to get good sleep during the day or when Shoto stayed awake to keep watch. He watched as the sun shone brightly outside and couldn’t wait until Katsuki could come home.

He rubbed Izuku’s back gently as he smiled to himself.

“Shoto! Shoto!” Glancing up at his name, he found Izuku holding a recipe book and hummed in curiosity. “Denki and Eijiro sent me a copy of their recipe book! And a copy of spells from Denki!” Izuku jumped in place as Shoto felt a small smile creep up his face.

“And let me guess, you wish to bake today?” He asked and Izuku nodded quickly.

“I hear there are some good vampire snacks in here so that Kacchan can have some too when he comes home!” Izuku added, and Shoto snorted softly as he pushed himself up and walked over to him.

“Then let's get started, yes?” Shoto asked, and Izuku brightened up as he lunged forward and hugged him.

“Thank you, thank you, thank you!” Izuku jumped away and rushed inside, rambling about the different recipes that he’d looked at already and the different plants that they’d have to go and buy at the stores, and which ones they could learn to grow at him for next year too.

Shoto smiled the whole time as he wrote down small lists.

He had no doubt that the little witch could also alter all recipes to be inclusive for Katsuki, and he knew that Izuku had made that a goal based on the fact he had his experimentation notebook laid out at the kitchen table. The spells one was also open so he must have been multitasking.

Shoto hummed in thought as he watched the rain come pouring down. Izuku was lying on the floor by the fireplace and Shoto smiled to himself.

“Hey, Izu?” Shoto called, catching Izuku’s attention. The greenette glanced up at him tiredly. “Wanna see something cool?” He asked, and Izuku nodded. Shoto set aside his drink, knowing that Kaba knew better than to try to drink it this time, and stood up.

He focused for just a moment before he was a cat instead of his normal wolf form. He opened his eyes as Izuku gasped in amazement as he pushed himself up.

“You managed it! Shoto I’m so proud of you!” If Shoto was human, he’d be flushing red and he knew that. He walked forward as Izuku laid back down, he jumped up and laid on Izuku’s chest, his head near Izuku’s own as he began to purr.

It was a small command, sleep, and Izuku followed suit with that.

Shoto smiled as Izuku rambled about his garden, and the herbs that he had to bundle together before the new moon in four days. He needed them blessed by the goddess of the moon before the autumn because he wanted them fresh instead of a bit ‘stale’ as Izuku described it.

He smelt Katsuki at the edge of the clearing, though he waited to tell Izuku. Izuku froze slightly before looking at Kaba who was sitting in the doorway before he turned and faced Katsuki with excitement rushing down their bond.

“Hello, little fang.” Shoto responded easily as he pushed himself up and pulled the vampire into a hug.

“Shoto can shapeshift into a cat now, Kacchan!” Izku cheered, and Katsuki looked at Shoto with a smile. Shoto easily turned into a cat, cradled in his arms.

“Well would you look at that…” He murmured, kissing the top of Shoto’s head comfortingly as he turned and walked inside.

Shoto smiled as he watched the snow fall, fondness rushing through the bond from two different directions. Izuku was out playing in the falling snow as Katsuki made hot chocolate in the kitchen.

He chuckled as Kaba muttered something as he laid in the window sill. That had been startling to realize, but they learned that since Shoto could turn into a cat, he could understand Kaba… One the cat accepted him into his litter, which had been confusing to understand.

Though cat cuddles were very comfortable and he would not let someone tell him otherwise.

“Can you call him inside, love?” Katsuki called out, and Shoto glanced up before tugging on their bond. Izuku paused before turning to Shoto, confusion and curiosity leaking through. He chuckled quietly to himself as he tugged on the bond again.

“How do you do that?” Katsuki asked in mild surprise.

“Shifters secret, little fang.” Shoto responded with a smile as Izuku came inside.

“Oh! Hot Chocolate! Thank you Kacchan, thank you Shoto.” He smiled innocently.

Shoto hummed quietly as he read his new book. Christmas morning had gone amazingly, and now Izuku was held up in the kitchen with Yule traditions being taken note of on the counter. Katsuki was out getting wood for the fireplace, though he grumbled about his ability to not feel the cold.

He smiled as he took notes of any animals that interested him. He had to truly understand an animal before he could turn into one. It was why most people didn’t turn into more than one or two, because things slowly mix up.

But Izuku had a point that he could just take notes and remember everything that way. He hummed in thought as Katsuki came back, shaking off the snow that had fallen on top of him and offered him a smile and a small peck on the lips before motioning to the kitchen.

“He has yet to eat,” Katsuki nodded as he turned and walked towards the kitchen, determination set in his shoulders. Shoto would never be able to pull Izuku from his work, but Katsuki could.
