This was stupid. Lloyd had a dad for crying out loud! So why was it whenever Lloyd thought of the word : parent, he thought of Kai. Kai has been there more than his own parents had. Kai was his brother! Not his dad…
Lloyd sighed, turning over. He had that on his mind for so long that it was no longer 11:00pm, but 1:30am. He decided to go get some water, he was thirsty. He exited his room, walking quietly, not wanting to wake any of the other ninja by mistake. When he got into the kitchen, he had noticed Kai was there, digging through the fridge. “Kai?” Lloyd asked. Kai hit his head on the fridge door as he attempted to turn and see him. “Ow!” He hissed, rubbing his head, “oh, hey green tea! What are you doing up this late?”
Lloyd rubbed one of his eyes, trying to push his late night thoughts away, “i uh.. couldn’t sleep..” he mumbled. Kai shut the fridge after pulling out two caprisuns. He tossed one to Lloyd, “here kid, maybe this will help.” Lloyd caught it in his free hand, “thanks.” He yawned.
Kai ruffled the green beans hair, “any time. Wanna crash in my room tonight? Maybe you’ll sleep better.” Lloyd nodded. Whenever Kai let him spend the night with him he felt way better. Kai softly chuckled, “alright then. Let’s go sleepy.” Kai then picked up Lloyd without warning, carrying him to his room. “ ‘m not sleepy.” Lloyd lied, a yawn following. Kai smirked, “sure you’re not.”
Kai say Lloyd on his bed, taking the caprisuns and setting them on his bedside table. They were forgotten already. Kai climbed into bed next to him, opening his arms for Lloyd to find himself in. Lloyd rested his head on kais chest and Kai protectively wrapped his arms tightly around him.
“Feeling better?” Kai asked. Lloyd’s response was a slight hum and nodd. Kai snickered, “alright greenie. Get some sleep. I love you.”
“ love you too dad.”

Kai’s Heart skipped a beat. Did Lloyd just call him dad? Kai had watched Lloyd drift to sleep while his mind was further from sleep from before. Did Lloyd really see him as a father figure? Or was he mistaking him for Garmadon because of how tired he was. Secretly, Kai hoped for the first possibility.
He tangled his fingers in Lloyd’s blonde mop of hair, Lloyd smiling in his sleep. Kai smiled as well, placing a gentle kiss on Lloyd’s head.
Yeah. Lloyd was his kid.
