"Goddamnit." Katsuki grits his teeth as he applies more pressure to the stab wound on his side with his bloody hand. It's not that deep of a wound. Only a few centimeters deep - well, at least Katsuki thinks it's only a few centimeters deep. He didn't see how long the knife was before the bastard that had stabbed him with it dug it back out. Thankfully the guy wasn't able to get another stab on Katsuki, otherwise, Katsuki would have probably still been in that alleyway.
Katsuki drags himself down the dimly lit sidewalk with heavy feet, his head spinning and ears ringing. He was in pain, and beyond exhausted, and in all seriousness, he seriously should be heading in the direction of the nearest hospital, but he isn't. Instead, he's going in the completely opposite direction, according to his cellphone's map. Where was he going? He had no idea. Katsuki looks up at the street sign with weary eyes, squinting slightly to see the name of the street he was currently walking down. He reads the name of the street a few times before something seems to click in his head.
Izuku's house is down this street.
—————
Katsuki found himself at Izuku's doorstep, at god knows what damn time. Maybe he should check his cellphone. He seriously should've just gone to the hospital. Izuku isn't some damn medical professional - he's a damn Pro Hero with even less medical knowledge than Katsuki has. And Katsuki doesn't have much knowledge at all. He had barely learned anything from Uraraka's medical classes that she taught early last year.
Katsuki grunts as he stumbles up the last step to Izuku's porch, his hand clutching at his side with such strength that his hand has gone pale white. There was blood running down his leg now, some blood on his hand having dried - but immediately becoming covered in more, fresh blood from his wound. He hopes to the gods above that he doesn't even believe in that he doesn't pass out - because now he was getting even more dizzy, and his vision was starting to blur out.
Without another thought, Katsuki uses his unoccupied, not-covered-in-immense-amounts-of-blood-hand, to bang fiercely and frantically on Izuku's front door. It was loud, but did Katsuki give a shit? No, no he really didn't. His frantic banging might wake up Izuku's neighbors, but once again, he didn't really care. Katsuki continued to bang on Izuku's door until he saw through the window, even with closed blinds, a light turn on. Thank fucking god, Katsuki thinks with a pained grunt. His side was aching and throbbing, and his head was only getting worse by the second. Okay, so, maybe he was going to pass out soon - maybe even before Izuku opened the fucking door.
The door opens slowly, revealing Izuku in a short-sleeved shirt, and shorts. Izuku rubs his closed eyes with fists as he yawns. Izuku lets his arms fall back down to his side as he opens his eyes with a tired smile.
"Can I hel—Kacchan!"
Katsuki lets his arm he was using to bang on Izuku door fall to his side as he stumbles around on Izuku's porch, looking at Izuku with a slightly pleading look. "Mind If I come in?" Katsuki croaks out, his voice worn out and rough. It's pretty embarrassing how much of a number those low-lifers did to Katsuki - at least to Katsuki it was. He was a damn Pro Hero after all. Izuku's wide eyes look Katsuki up and down numerous times before he's motioning frantically for Katsuki to come in. "Get inside, now." Izuku half-demands, concern evident in his voice. Izuku steps aside, making room for Katsuki to step inside. Katsuki is successful in actually being able to get through the doorway, with a little help from Izuku keeping him up right with a strong grip on his arm.
Katsuki grunts as Izuku shuts the door and locks it behind the him. "Here, let's get you to the couch. Then I'll go find a first aid kit." Izuku says, wrapping an arm around Katsuki's uninjured side to help support him. Izuku helps Katsuki shuffle over to the couch - and slowly but surely, they get there without any trouble. "I'll get your couch all bloody." Katsuki grunts out, looking down at the sofa with a feeling of guilt. He didn't want to ruin Izuku's furniture - especially when it was really nice and expensive looking. Izuku scoffs, seeming annoyed with Katsuki's confrontation. "You are currently bleeding out in my house. Do you think I give a damn about the couch at the moment?" Izuku ask with a deadpan expression at Katsuki.
Katsuki lets out a sigh as he rolls his eyes a little at Izuku. "I was just trying to be respectful." Katsuki grits out through clenched teeth. The pain was only growing worse and worse by the second. But hey, at least he didn't pass out on Izuku's porch. Izuku carefully leans him down onto the couch so that he is laying partially sideways, his wounded side not pressing up against anything. Izuku grabs a throw pillow, stuffing it under Katsuki's arm so he had some leverage, and wasn't too uncomfortable in the odd position he was in. Katsuki groans at Izuku slightly jerking him around, but he doesn't say anything. Izuku steps back a bit to look over Katsuki's slightly limp body. "Okay, I'll be right back. I need to find a first aid kit. Keep applying pressure to the wound." Izuku says. Izuku doesn't wait for an answer from Katsuki, and rushes over to his bathroom as quickly as he can.
Katsuki thinks that he used a little of One For All to get there a tiny bit faster, but then again, Katsuki was bleeding out and probably very close to passing out. So maybe he was starting to hallucinate. Katsuki lays on the couch, continuing to put pressure on his wound like Izuku instructed him to do while he listens to Izuku rummage around in his bathroom. Katsuki almost thinks he won't find one (knowing his luck), but he hears Izuku go ah-ha! and soon, Izuku is rushing out of the bathroom, and back over to Katsuki with a fresh med kit. Katsuki doesn't think it has been used once yet. "Okay, uhm." Izuku mumbles, clicking open the med kit and scanning over the supplies stuffed in it.
"Can I take off your shirt?" Izuku blurts suddenly, his tone a little questioning. Katsuki grunts, gulping. God, he was really thirsty. He'll have to ask for water later. "Yeah, whatever you need to do, just do it." Katsuki says, his speech slightly slurred. He really didn't want to pass out on Izuku. That would only make Izuku even more freaked out than he already was. Izuku stands over Katsuki, grabbing the hem of Katsuki's top, and pulling up, being extra careful of Katsuki's wound as he pulls it up his stomach and chest, over his shoulders and head, and off his arms swiftly. Katsuki was able to help a little by lazily moving his arms up so Izuku could get his shirt off with easier. Izuku give a small hum of appreciation at the gesture.
Izuku looks back at the first aid kit, his brows furrowing as he seems to think something over. "Okay, the first thing I need to do is clean the wound." Izuku says with a confident nod as if he was really only talking to himself. Katsuki lets out a shaky breath. From what Katsuki has been through in personal experience, cleaning a wound is not at all pleasant or easy. That shit hurts, probably worse than actually receiving the wound. "Just get it over with, Izuku." Katsuki groans out, looking up at Izuku with lidded eyes. Depending on how much Izuku had to clean the wound, he might actually pass out from both the pain and the blood loss. But, the blood loss was really the main factor, the pain was just a nice little bonus. Izuku gives Katsuki a nervous look, but nods anyway in understanding.
Izuku takes out the unopened bottle of hydrogen peroxide, popping open the lid to the bottle. He also takes out a large, circular cotton pad. Izuku lays the cotton pad on the opened top of hydrogen peroxide, and flips it over, wetting the cotton pad with the liquid. He does this multiple times until the cotton pad is completely soaked with the hydrogen peroxide. Izuku lets out a sigh, seeming to reinforce himself mentally as he turns back to Katsuki. "Do you want something to bite on?" Izuku asks - and really, it's probably the sweetest thing he's ever been asked while in this kind of condition. Katsuki grunts with a wobbly nod. Izuku turns around again quickly, grabbing a fluffy white towel from his coffee table. "Here." Is all Izuku says as he holds it in front of Katsuki's mouth, looking at him expectingly. Oh, he's going to put it in for Katsuki. Well, I guess that's better than giving Katsuki it. He can barely even hold his head up.
"Hold on." Katsuki suddenly croaks out, making Izuku give him a slightly panicked look. "If I end up passing out, don't worry, okay? It's either from the pain, or the blood loss. Maybe a mixture of both." Katsuki says in between deep breaths. Izuku looks at Katsuki with a worried expression, but nods anyways "Okay, Kacchan." Izuku says. Katsuki then slowly opens his mouth, baring his teeth. Izuku puts the towel in Katsuki's mouth, tightly in between his teeth. Katsuki bites down on the towel, harder than he initially intended to, but he didn't care. He was most likely going to end up screaming like a banshee.
Izuku kneels down, his face level with Katsuki's wound. "Remove your hand now." Izuku asks politely in a hushed voice. Katsuki squeezes his eyes shut as he slowly takes his hand off his wound. Katsuki curses loudly, his voice completely mumbled by the towel. His hand that was putting pressure on his wound shakes violently as he drapes it meaninglessly across his chest, thankfully not hitting his wound. Man, didn't that hurt like hell. Izuku gives Katsuki a look of pity, feeling a little queasy. Izuku doesn't decide to give a warning, having learned that sometimes no warning can be a little less painful to the person. Thank you, Uraraka-san, Izuku thinks.
Izuku gently presses the wetted cotton pad to Katsuki's still slightly bleeding wound, immediately getting a response from Katsuki. Katsuki howls as he flinches, squeezing his eyes tightly as tears fall. Izuku gulps roughly, avoiding looking at Katsuki's face. Izuku pats carefully around and over Katsuki's wound, hearing cries and shouts coming from Katsuki's muffled mouth. Katsuki's head throbs as he feels himself start to lose consciousness. He's honestly not surprised - he didn't expect to stay conscious during this entire process. Izuku can see as Katsuki seems to lose consciousness. He worries, but overall tries to keep himself calm. Katsuki told him to not panic. So he was not going to panic.
Katsuki's ears start to ring as his head throbs even more. His head starts to slip slightly - the pain fading away slowly as he slips into unconsciousness.
—————
Katsuki wakes with a quiet groan, feeling exhausted. So he did end up passing out? He barely remembers anything, if his throbbing head can't tell him that. Katsuki hears shuffling around him, the sound of bare feet patting against wooden flooring coming into Katsuki's field of hearing. Katsuki cracks open his eyes slightly, thankful for the room being dimly lit. Katsuki can feel himself smile a tiny bit at seeing Izuku hover over him, holding a glass of water, and a bottle of something in the other. "Hey, Kacchan. I'm glad you conscious again." Izuku says softly, keeping his voice quiet. Katsuki wants to kiss the man for being so thoughtful and generous to him. Izuku sits down next to Katsuki - making Katsuki just now realize that he was leaning back against Izuku's sofa, a bunch of pillows keeping him comfortable. There was even a blanket laid out on top of him.
And god, Katsuki could cry.
Izuku looks at the things in his hands, and over at Katsuki. "I got you some water. Your throat is probably sore." Izuku states, holding up the glass of water towards Katsuki. Katsuki wants to laugh. No shit sherlock. He was literally screaming at the top of lungs. It would have sounded like someone was getting murdered to the neighbors if it wasn't for the towel muffling Katsuki's screams. Katsuki takes his one arm out from underneath the blanket, holding his hand open for Izuku to hand him it. Thankfully, Katsuki was a little less exhausted now, and he wasn't super loopy or fucked up. Izuku hands him the glass. Katsuki immediately puts the rim of glass to his dry lips, chugging down have the water in one gulp. Katsuki hears Izuku giggle quietly to himself at Katsuki's franticness.
"If you don't finish all the water in one sitting, I also have some pain medication for you to take." Izuku remarks, shaking the bottle of what was now known as pain medication slightly. Katsuki’s non-existent ears on top of his head perk up at that. Katsuki takes his last gulp of water, taking the glass away from his mouth, and looking at Izuku. “Give me that.” Katsuki demands, his voice still a little rough. It probably will be for the next few days with how much and how loudly he was screaming. Izuku smiles at Katsuki before unscrewing the cap to the bottle of medicine, plucking two pills out from the bottle. “Here, you should probably take two.” Izuku says, holding his hand out as the two pills rest in his palm.
Katsuki takes the two pills from Izuku, throwing them into his mouth, and quickly finishing the rest of the water while swallowing the pills. Katsuki holds the glass out for Izuku to take back. “Thank you, Izuku.” Katsuki says with nod and a small smile. Izuku gives him a wide, gentle smile before getting up to return the glass to the kitchen. Katsuki looks at where Izuku was sitting, his eyes widening slightly as he spots the amount of blood he bled out onto Izuku’s couch. “I’m sorry for ruining your couch, I’ll buy you a new one.” Katsuki says as Izuku comes back from the kitchen, sitting back down in the same spot. Izuku gives Katsuki an almost offended look. “Kacchan, no. You were bleeding out and in a lot of pain. You don’t need to buy me a new couch, I’ll handle it.” Izuku declares, almost demanding as he glares a bit at Katsuki.
Katsuki lets out a laugh, immediately regretting it as his side starts to hurt again. Katsuki whines slightly. “Where you able to get everything done?” Katsuki asks, referring to his wound. Izuku smiles with a nod. “Yup. I got it all cleaned up, stitched, and bandag-”
“You know how to do stitches?” Katsuki says, his mouth agape and his eyes wide. Since when in the hell was Izuku a trained medical professional? Izuku blinks at Katsuki a couple times before laughing. “Yes, I do. You can thank Uraraka-san for that.” Izuku remarks with a little giggle and a grin. Katsuki almost scoffs in annoyance. Of course he learned how to do stitches from Uraraka. Why wouldn’t he? “Damn. Maybe I should ask her for a lesson or two. Just in case this happens again.” Katsuki jokes with a chuckle. Katsuki looks at Izuku with a smile until he sees the frown on Izuku’s face. “Don’t joke about that, Kacchan. I was really worried when I saw you on my porch like that.” Izuku says, chewing on his bottom lip, a nervous habit he developed a while ago that he just wasn’t able to get rid of.
Katsuki frowns in response to this. “I’m sorry for worrying you, Izuku. I know I should’ve gone to a hospital, but I just…” Katsuki trails off at the end, because really, he doesn’t know why he decided to go to Izuku’s house instead of a hospital. It was strange, but Katsuki had sort of an idea of why he may have come to Izuku’s house.
He just felt safer around Izuku than anyone else.
Izuku doesn’t need Katsuki to say anymore, as he already understands what Katsuki was trying to say. It has always been like this - the two of them being able to read each other so well that neither of them could hide anything from the other. Even their true feelings.
“I’m glad your okay, Kacchan.” Izuku mutters, his voice quiet and soft - making Katsuki feel all warm and fuzzy inside. Katsuki lets out a sigh of contentment. “Come here, I want to go back to sleep.” Katsuki grunts out, making a grabbing motion towards Izuku with his hand that was already out. Izuku giggles at the childish gesture, but ultimately complies with Katsuki’s demands. Izuku shuffles closer to Katsuki, being wary of his bandaged wound. Izuku had thrown one of his shirts on Katsuki so he wouldn’t get cold, and he wasn’t half nude. Katsuki wraps an arm around Izuku’s back, his hand coming around to hold him at his waist. Izuku wraps his arms around Katsuki’s torso and his back. Izuku smiles up at Katsuki, a small hint of a blush tinting at his cheeks. Izuku leans up to place a gentle, loving kiss to his forehead.
“I love you, Kacchan. Sleep well, okay?” Izuku says as he lays his head on Katsuki’s shoulder.
Katsuki sighs lovingly as he looks down at Izuku. “I love you too, Izuku. You sleep well too.”
