Witches Among Humans

Summary:

Adeline Morales, a witch who graduated from Hogwarts, was only planning to investigate the disappeared Guardian Temple in Tibet, but when the temple with all monks reappeared in front of her eyes, she couldn’t do anything else but to figure out what is going on.

What she will discover on her journey is something she never anticipated.

Notes:

To clarify a few things beforehand:

This story involves my own mc/oc from the game Harry Potter Hogwarts Mystery.

The name from my mc/oc is Adeline Morales, and in this story she will be one or two years older than Marinette. (Below is a reference sheet)

It helps a bit when you played the game, because I will mention a few things from it.

Chapter 1: A witch in Paris

Chapter Text

Adeline Morales stood on a mountaintop where almost two hundred years ago stood a temple that has disappeared without a trace.

Since graduating from Hogwarts, she has quickly become one of the most famous and successful curse breakers of all time.

Since graduating from school, she has traveled the world, both the magical world and the muggle world. She has written down and published all of her adventures as books, which has made her one of the most successful authors in the wizard world.

Her books are very popular with both magicians and muggles. While for the magician it represented exciting adventures experienced by a young witch, for the muggle it was a fascinating fantasy story.

After a short trip to Tibet, where she actually only wanted to investigate the disappearance of the temple, she encountered an even bigger event. The disappeared temple has mysteriously returned before her eyes, and with the temple the monks who lived there.

Adeline could sense a magical signature in the air as the magical ladybugs that restored the temple disappeared.

Adeline first looked at the situation before she decided to go in the temple.

The monks were hostile towards her until they realized that Adeline is a witch, so the monks relaxed and led her to the Celestial Guardian Su Han.

They struck up a conversation in a private room, and it was then that Su Han related how the temple disappeared when an unworthy student he calls "Chickenlegs" destroyed the temple simply because he couldn't go without food for a day.

Adeline figured some things were left out, but since she wasn't there when the temple disappeared, she should find more clues first.

Su Han told her some more. He told her about the visions of the temple and how the witches and wizards helped them build the temple and keep the secrets of the miraculous and kwamis.

Adeline loved the story. She has heard and read a lot about the Miraculous. In the Hogwarts library there was a whole shelf full of books about the Miraculous and the Kwamis. She always wanted to meet a Kwami.

After Su Han finished, he told her how one of the miraculous boxes disappeared, which among other things contains the two most powerful miraculous. The ladybug and black cat miraculous.

After hearing that, Adeline didn't even think about it when she told him "Don't worry about it, I'll find it and make sure it's safe."

It wasn't easy to convince Su Han, especially since she was both a girl and young, but after some back and forth, he decided to trust Adeline.

He helped her by trying to find out the approximate location of the miraculous box.

While Su Han tries to find out the location with other guardians, Adeline goes about her other activities. However, she returned to the temple every week just to see if Su Han figured out the location.

It took almost three months for Su Han to determine the location.

When Adeline learned the location, she spent one more night in the temple before teleporting to the location using magic the next day.

———————————————————————

Adeline had teleported to a secluded alleyway so no one would see her using magic.

As she barely left the alley, she was horrified to see people running in panic from a monster that bears a strong resemblance to a basilisk, but instead of killing people with one look, it turned people to stone. With each person it turns into stone, the monster gets bigger.

The people are screaming in fear, "Run away! Akuma!"

Adeline was about to use her magic to fight the monster when a person dressed in red uses her yo-yo to tie and hold the monster's head back, giving the humans a chance to escape.

Adeline hears the people shouting with relief, "Ladybug is here! She will save us!”

Adeline could immediately feel that Ladybug had some kind of ancient magic in her. She decided to observe everything for now and only intervene in an emergency.

She watches as Ladybug both fights the monster and escorts those nearby to safety.

Adeline watches her, impressed and fascinated. Although she found it impressive how Ladybug was able to fight the monster alone, she is surprised that nobody is by her side.

Adeline was about to teleport to a roof, but out of the corner of her eye she noticed a person dressed in black standing on a roof nearby. She immediately sensed that he also carries the same kind of magic, but instead of helping his partner, he stares at her from afar, not even thinking about helping his partner or the fleeing humans.

This disgusted Adeline in many ways. She has already considered shooting him with a fireball, but she was distracted by loud screams from nearby.

"AHHH!!!"

Adeline saw a mother and her little daughter running away to save their lives, however, a lot of debris fell from buildings that the mother and daughter could never escape, and Ladybug was busy fighting the monster and her partner still appeared not to care.

Adeline couldn't watch innocent people die, so she casts "Arresto Momento" on the falling rubble.

The debris began to fall more slowly, giving the mother and daughter time to run away.

Luckily no one saw her using magic.

She looked back at Ladybug, who appears to be having trouble, as the Basilisk-like monster wraps itself around Ladybug and squeeze the air out of her body.

Adeline looked back at Ladybug's "partner" one last time, if she can even call him that, and decided to help her.

Since she later didn't want to explain to Ladybug why a witch is helping her, she decided to help Ladybug in her Animagus form.

She dropped her bag and transformed into her Animagus form, which is an eagle, and immediately flew towards the Akuma.

The Akuma was about to petrify Ladybug, but it had no chance when Adeline scratched the Akuma's eyes with her claws.

The Akuma reflexively released Ladybug, causing Ladybug to fall from a great height.

Adeline flew after and just before Ladybug hit the ground, she grabbed Ladybug's shoulders and flew up with her.

She flew with her to a roof where she gently puts Ladybug down.

Since Ladybug finally has some rest and can breathe again, she has decided to rest a little.

Since Adeline got a better view of Ladybug, she takes a close look at her.

As Ladybug looks at her rescuer, she was amazed.

"An eagle saved me?" she murmurs to herself.

When Ladybug looks at her, Adeline gets lost in her bluebell eyes. She was 100% sure that if she were in her human form, she would have been blushing right now.

Ladybug smiles softly at the eagle and says, while stroking her feathers, "Thank you so much my feathered friend."

Adeline lets out a delighted chirp.

Ladybug was about to hug the eagle until she heard the akuma's roar, "ROAR!"

Ladybug first looks to Akuma, who is still blinded and randomly destroying buildings, then back to the eagle "I'm afraid I have to go now. Thanks again."

Adeline watched as Ladybug jumped back to the Akuma. She decided to stay close in case she needed help again.

A little bit later.

Since the Akuma was blinded, it didn't take long for Ladybug to defeat him.

Adeline watched the fight carefully and was more than impressed. What fascinated her the most was Ladybug's "Miraculous Ladybugs" ability, which she used to retrieve everything and everyone unharmed.

Adeline immediately recognized that it is the same ability she saw in Tibet three months ago.

After defeating the Akuma, Ladybug jumped to the roof where her "partner" was still standing.

Adeline became curious and flew to them, but stayed out of their sight.

"What's wrong with you Chat?! Where have you been?!"

"What's wrong with me?!" Chat Noir repeats, "The better question is what's wrong with you?!"

"What about me?" asks Ladybug with a raised brow.

"Master Fu is gone. It means we can finally show each other our secret identities.” Chat says, frustrated and angry.

Ladybug groaned and rubs the bridge between her eyes "Finally get it. We cannot reveal our identities until Hawkmoth is defeated.”

Chat rolls his eyes "You always say that."

"Then you should start to understand instead of being childish all the time."

Chat Noir crossed his arms and pouted "Whatever." He perked up as he asked "So are you free tonight? We could go to a movie, or eat at a restaurant, or-"

"How many times do I have to say no?" Ladybug cut him off "I have no romantic feelings for you, and never will."

Chat got a little too close as he says with a flirty smile "But that could easily change. So what time can I pick you up tonight?”

Adeline thinks, 'Are you serious? She almost died because you didn't help her and now you are asking her out. And judging by the wording, it wasn't the first time.'

Instead of Ladybug continuing to waste her time chatting, she jumped off the roof and disappeared.

Chat looks after her and exclaims "An answer would have been nice!"

Adeline was very impressed and intrigued by Ladybug, as for her partner Chat Noir, she was beyond disgusted.

From the brief conversation between the two, Adeline could immediately see that Ladybug is a professional heroine who puts the well-being of the people and the city first. Chat Noir, on the other hand, is childish and immature who instead of helping people and protecting the city prefers to joke around and flirt with Ladybug.

Adeline could only shake her head in disgust. Deciding that she had seen enough of him, she flew back to the alley and transformed back into her human form.

She grabs her bag and left the alley.

———————————————————————
Later.

Adeline walked through a part of the town where she could sense the greatest concentration of magic.

Adeline was standing in front of what she thinks is a school. The Francois Dupont School.

Ironically, it is in one school that she senses the greatest amount of magic. Magic she sensed from both the heroes and the Akuma.

Since it was still the middle of the day, the school was still open, so Adeline decided to go to the school and take a closer look.

As she walked in the school, she saw the students going back to their classes. What she immediately noticed was that none of the students were wearing robes, or any other school uniform.

She walked a few more steps before a teacher in a white coat blocked her way.

"Who are you?" asks the teacher stoically.

As Adeline looked at her, she had the feeling that she was talking to Professor Snape.

Adeline replied hesitantly "My name is Adeline Morales, Professor."

The teacher narrows her eyes "I'm not a professor."

Adeline felt even more like she was talking to Snape now. "I'm sorry, I assumed it was because of the coat."

The teacher clears her throat, "I'm Mlle. Mendeleiev, and I've never seen you here before." She holds out her hand, "Show me your hall pass."

Adeline panics and says "I'm new here."

Mendeleiev raised a brow "You're new?"

Adeline nodded frantically "I wanted to see the school so that when I have my first day here on Monday I won't have any orientation problems."

Mendeleiev looks at her and says "Predictive thinking. I like that." She waves to the school as she says, "Then allow me to show you around."

Adeline hesitantly asks, "Don't you have to go to your class?"

Mendeleiev replies, "I have time before I have to go back to class." She adds as she turns, "Don't dally."

Adeline didn't know what to say or do, but as it would raise suspicions if she walked away, she decided to follow the teacher.

———————————————————————
A little bit later.

Mlle. Mendeleiev guided Adeline through most of the school and explained a lot to her.

Mendeleiev was showing her the classrooms when Adeline felt the greatest magic from one particular classroom. Unfortunately, Adeline couldn't take a closer look at the classroom without arousing suspicion.

At the end of the tour, Adeline decided to make her white lie a reality and attend school as a student.

———————————————————————
3 days later in the school.

"Class, I'd like to introduce a new student. Her name is Adeline Morales. I know you'll all give her a warm welcome." Said Mme. Bustier, stepping aside as she introduces "Please welcome your new classmate."

Adeline stood in the classroom where she felt the strong magic last Friday.

She looked closely at her classmates and could sense a kind of magic in each of them. Almost all of them were of the same type of magic as the Akuma. Others had a mixture of Akuma magic and miraculous magic. And two students a blond boy in the front row and a girl sitting alone in the back had the same magic as the superheroes. With the boy, she could feel the magic especially in his ring and school bag.

Bustier says to Adeline "How about you tell us a little bit about yourself."

Adeline greets everyone with a friendly smile “Hi folks, my name is Adeline Morales but you can call me Adeline. I am new to your class as well as to Paris. I hope that we will get along well.”

When no one says anything, Bustier says, "Anyone have any questions for Adeline before we start class."

Alya was the first to ask "Where did you go to school before?"

"I went to a private school in Scotland before."

When she mentioned the country, a girl who clings to Adrien and whose hair looks like sausages started saying “Oh Scotland. That brings memories. I can still remember the time when I was visiting a good friend and then we saw the Loch Ness Monster.”

As if someone flipped a switch, her classmates started looking at her enthusiastically and asking lots of questions.

"You've seen the Loch Ness Monster?"

"How was it?"

"Was it scary?"

"How big was it?"

"Did it have fur or scales?"

These and many other questions were asked, which the girl with the sausage hair answers with a fake, sugar-sweet smile.

Adeline looks at them confused. She thinks, 'Are these people stupid or what? You could practically hear the lie.'

Adeline saw that almost the whole class, including the teacher, believed the lie, except for a few. Especially the blond boy Adrien and the girl in the back row Marinette. While Marinette looked like she wanted to say something, Adrien on the other hand just sat there without doing anything.

Since it didn't look like they await Adeline to say anything else, she went to the only free seat next to Marinette.

Adeline asks with a friendly smile "Can I sit here?"

Marinette also looks at her with a friendly smile. "Of course."

Adeline blushed a little when she saw her eyes.

As Adeline sat down she immediately felt a stronger magic in Marinette. Especially in her earrings and purse, but also in her body she had some magic in her.

Adeline holds out her hand as she says, "I'm Adeline, by the way."

Marinette shakes hands and says "I'm Marinette."

After shaking hands, Adeline notices that Marinette has a sketchbook in front of her and has drawn a sketch of an eagle and right next to it was a beautiful sketch of an outfit that strongly resembles the eagle.

Adeline says, "These are interesting sketches."

Marinette blushed a little as she says, "I had an interesting encounter with an eagle a few days ago and since I felt inspired by the eagle, I am designing a dress based on the eagle."

Adeline no longer had any doubts that Marinette is actually Ladybug.

"That sounds really fascinating. And from your word history, I can tell you're interested in fashion."

Marinette nods timidly, "My dream is to be a famous fashion designer."

"If the rest of your designs look as good as the sketch and outfit you're wearing currently, then I would say you're on your way."

Marinette blinks twice before asking "How do you know that I designed my own clothes?"

Adeline waves to Marinette's clothes "Your outfit is of too high quality than that you bought it from a store."

Marinette blushed a little, "You have a good eye."

Adeline replies with a toothy smile "A good friend of mine is also obsessed with fashion and every time I hang out with him he would talk for hours about fashion." She points to the clothes she is wearing, "He designed and tailored this outfit for me."

Marinette's eyes widen. She exclaimed excited "Your friend is Andre Egwu, the style magician!"

Though Marinette's outburst was loud, no one seemed to have heard her as everyone was still enchanted by Lila's tall tale.

Adeline chuckles a little "I see you know him."

Marinette nods furiously, "He's a real magician when it comes to fashion."

Adeline chuckles "You must be a fan of his work."

Marinette nods "I'm a big fan of his. What impresses me the most is how magical his designs are.”

Adeline says, "If you're interested, he's also a fan of your work."

Marinette tilted her head "He's a fan of mine? That's impossible. How would he even know about me?”

"He's not a fan of you personally, but of your secret identity." Adeline replies with a knowingly smile.

Marinette paled, she fears Adeline knows her secret identity as Ladybug.

Marinette tries to come up with an excuse.

Adeline noticed how distressed Marinette was feeling, so she says sympathetically, "Don't worry, I won't tell anyone. Not even Andre.”

Marinette timidly asks "How do you know?"

Adeline had a gentle smile. She points to the sketch as she says, "As I've said before, Andre talks a lot about fashion. One of our conversations was about how to recognize the signature in the clothes. And your signature is the embroidery that makes up your name, MDC.”

Marinette was both relieved and surprised that Adeline had meant that identity. Nonetheless, she says with a stunned look on her face, "You're the first person to have figured out my identity so far."

Adeline shrugged "As mentioned before. I am observant.”

Marinette blushed a little.

She was about to say something when Nino shouted loudly, "That's incredible Dudette! I would love to see the Loch Ness Monster.”

"This encounter was really unique." Lila replies with a fake smile.

Marinette says while looking at her classmates, "Please tell me you heard it."

Adeline replies, "Do you mean the more than obvious lies in every word from the sausage hair girl."

Marinette breathes a sigh of relief "Yes, that's Lila Rossi. She is a pathological liar.”

Adeline asks while looking at Lila "Why doesn't anyone say anything about it. I mean, it's more than obvious that she's lying."

Marinette sighs "I've tried so many times to explain to my classmates that Lila is lying, but they think I'm just jealous of her."

Adeline deadpanned "Why would you be jealous? You're already an aspiring fashion designer at such a young age, and what does Lie-la have to show for it? A bunch of lies that don't even seem believable."

Marinette chuckles a little. "That's true, but nobody knows I'm MDC and they think I'm jealous for some other reason besides her 'accomplishments.'"

"That would be?" Adeline asks curiously. Seeing how dejected Marinette looks, she says, "You don't have to tell me if you don't want to."

Marinette exhales heavily. "I think it would be better if I told someone." She points to Adrien as she says, "Up until recently I had a huge crush on Adrien, and everyone thinks I'm jealous of Lila, because they think that he likes her."

Adeline raised a brow "He doesn't like her?" Marinette shakes her head slowly "Then why does he let her grab his arm?"

Marinette says with suppressed anger, "Because he's clueless and an enabler."

Adeline gently places a hand on Marinette's shoulder and says, "I think it would be better if you started from the beginning."

Marinette started telling everything that had happened since Lila came to this school. She told every lie Lila had told about her fake travels, the famous people she met, the connections she had and the charities she organized. She even recounted the incident of how Lila broke into Adrien's mansion. Aside from the pact she made with Adrien, she told Adeline everything.

To Marinette's surprise, Adeline listened carefully to everything and, apart from a few questions, said nothing.

When Marinette got everything off her chest, she felt a little better because she was talking to someone who didn't judge her and let her finish.

After a few seconds Adeline says "From your words I can tell that Adrien knows she is a liar but doesn't want to tell anyone because he thinks she doesn't hurt anyone with her lies. Am I right?"

Marinette was impressed that Adeline figured it out so easily.

Marinette says hesitantly, "Yeah, Adrien suggested we take the high road since her lies don't hurt anyone." A tear trickled down her face as she added, "He said as long as we both know it, it would be enough. But it wasn't enough. I lost all my friends to her lies.”

Adeline gently wipes away the tear with her thumb. She says sympathetically, "Your tears are too good to waste on a guy and liar like them."

Marinette blushed a little.

Adeline breathes in and out as she says, "Sorry to say it, but his advice is a load of bullshit."

"I'm sorry, what?"

Adeline waves to her classmates and teacher as she declares, "Apart from her lies hurting you, they will hurt your friends and classmates very soon."

Adeline points to Alya as she explains, "Like that blogger over there. When I arrived in Paris a few days ago and witnessed an Akuma attack, I intended to find out more about it and I found your blog. But instead of providing good information, she has published lies, such as Ladybug's civil best friend having a sleepover with her, or even Ladybug and her partner Chat Noir having a secret date. I know I'm new to Paris, but even someone like me who has only seen the Heroes of Paris once can see that Ladybug is a professional heroine who would never put a civilian in danger by telling the world who her best friend is. And from the impression I got of her, I'm pretty sure she has no feelings for her partner. At least no romantic feelings.”

Marinette's eyes widen 'Could she really figure all this out by just taking one look?' she thinks to herself.

Adeline continues “If the blogger wants to work as a reporter after she graduates, then I see black for her future as journalist. When she presents her blog and Lie-la's wannabe 'connections' to a news outlet, she's bound to have doors slammed in her face. Even the Quibbler wouldn't hire her and they really don't take the truth and facts seriously."

Marinette raised a brow "The Quibbler?"

"It's a tabloid where I come from."

Marinette looks at Alya with concern as she admits with concerned, "I'm afraid so too." She looks at the rest of her friends, if she can still call them that. "I'm afraid a similar fate will befall them all."

Adeline replies without even thinking about it, "Then we'd best think about how to uncover her lies with irrefutable evidence."

Marinette blinks twice before asking in astonishment "You want to help me expose her lies."

Adeline nodded with a little smile.

"Even though you don't know anyone here?" asks Marinette.

Adeline replies with a toothy smile, "Believe it or not, this isn't the first time I've helped people I barely know."

Marinette doesn't know what to say. It's been so long since anyone really wanted to help her.

Adeline was about to say something, but Lila's loud talking distracted her.

"You should have seen the monster. It looked really scary. Luckily it was more concerned with eating a whale than us. Too bad I didn't have my camera with me, but who expects something like that.”

Adeline was really angry that Lie-la called the Loch Ness monster scary. She herself knows the Loch Ness Monster from her school days at Hogwarts. The Loch Ness Monster is actually just a playful Kelpie who used to play a lot with Adeline and her friends.

Adeline grumbles, "I think she has already spoken way too much."

Marinette agrees, "You're right, but what are you going to do? Whenever she starts telling a tall tale, there's nothing anyone can do about it."

Adeline has a glint in her eyes as she says, "I think there might be something." Before Marinette could ask, Adeline stood up and said loudly for the whole class to hear, "Mme Bustier, I have a question!"

When all eyes turned to Adeline, Lila stopped short. She looks at Adeline and glares at her.

Mme. Bustier looks at Adeline and asks "What is it Adeline?"

Adeline clears her throat "Didn't class start an hour ago?"

Bustier raised a brow "Yes, why?"

"I know I'm new here, but shouldn't a class actually be studying instead of hearing an 'amazing story'."

Nobody noticed that she quoted "amazing story".

Bustier clears her throat in embarrassment as she says, "It's true, but when does one get the chance to hear someone see the Loch Ness Monster?"

Adeline looks at Lila when she says "Then she should wait until lunchtime. At least that gives her enough time to talk about extracurricular activities.”

Lila looks at Adeline with crocodile tears "I see what you're trying to imply. You think I talk too much."

"That's exactly what I think." says Adeline directly.

Lila and all the other classmates including Marinette gasped.

Adeline sits down and says to the teacher, "Now that everyone is quiet, you're welcome to start the lesson."

Before Bustier could say or do anything, Lila whimpered, "W-Why are you being so mean? I just wanted to tell my friends about my trip to Scotland.”

"Then do it at lunchtime. You know, the place where you can sit at a table with your friends and keep telling them your tall tale,” Adeline bluntly replies.

Alya jumped up “Excuse you! Lila is not a liar!”

Adeline rolls her eyes "I disagree."

Lila was scowling at Adeline. She has a wicked smile when she notices Adeline sitting next to Marinette. She says with more fake tears, "I get it. Marinette put you up to it, and that's why you're bullying me."

Alya accuses "Marinette, did you put this girl up to this?"

Nino angrily shakes his head "That's not cool."

Nathaniel asks "Why did you become such a bully?"

Before more students can continue shouting accusations, Adeline lets out a loud whistle, silencing everyone.

Adeline stood up and says "Are you listening to yourselves? You're blaming someone who sits quietly all the time for something that's wrong." She waves to Marinette as she says, "I've known this girl less than an hour, yet I can see that she's more trustworthy than the sausage hair Girl."

Lila shrieked "Sausage hair?!"

Adeline replies bluntly "Do you like Lie-La better?"

All minus Marinette and Chloe gasped. Chloe even had to giggle.

Kim got up from his desk and marched over to Adeline. He stopped in front of her as he looks down at her angrily "Who do you think you are walking in here and calling Lila a liar?"

Adeline crossed her arms "Someone who can clearly see that she lied about the Loch Ness Monster. And it doesn't take a genius to realize that her other stories are bogus as well.”

Kim got even more angry. "Lila is not a liar!"

Adeline sighs, she rubs the bridge between her eyes "It's like I'm talking to a wall."

Kim glares "Are you saying I'm stupid?"

Adeline deadpanned "By that I mean you don't want to listen. If by that you understand that you're stupid, then that's your problem.”

Kim took it as an insult and swings his left fist, but Adeline doesn't even flinch when she sees the fist come at her.

Everyone watched in shock as Kim punches. Some even yelled "Kim not!"

Lila was the only one who looks on with a devious smile.

Marinette started to come to Adeline's aid, but Adeline effortlessly caught the fist in her right hand.

When Kim understood that his punch was intercepted, he struck with his other hand, which Adeline also caught without any problems with her other hand.

Kim was dumbstrucked.

Adeline says boredly, "For a guy your height, you are really weak."

Kim took it as an insult and headbutted her. But instead of hurting her, he hurt himself while Adeline felt next to nothing.

Kim fell to the ground clutching his head. He cried out in pain, "What is your head made of?! From steel?!"

Adeline shrugged "Maybe."

Everyone stares in amazement as the new student Adeline defeated Kim without even attacking him.

Adeline holds out her hand, which Kim didn't accept.

Lila exclaimed in a scared tone "She wants to hit Kim!!!"

Marinette exclaimed "No she doesn't want to! She wants to help him up!”

As always, everyone except Adrien and Chloe believes Lila's testimony.

Bustier finally stepped up in an attempt to diffuse the situation. “Miss Morales, that is quite enough out of you. To the principal's office!"

Adeline looks confused to the teacher "Why?"

Bustier says in a disappointed tone, "You disturbed the lesson and attacked a classmate. I expect more of you if you want to stay in school." When Adeline looks at her disinterestedly, Bustier says, "Now go to the principal!"

Adeline replies with a bored look on her face, "With pleasure, and while I'm there I'll tell him all about the fact that instead of you doing your work, a student spends the entire lesson telling a lie story. And afterwards I'll tell him how you allowed two students to fight in your presence without you doing anything."

Bustier paled.

As Adeline is about to leave, Bustier says submissively, "I think I'll let you get off with a warning this time. So please sit down again, we'll start the lesson right away."

Since Adeline really doesn't want to waste her time with her teacher, she sat down again, but as she sat down, the school bell rang.

Adeline grumbles under her breath as she gets back up. "Wasted a whole lesson over a lying brat."

"Welcome in my world," says Marinette. She asks with a small smile, "Shall we go to the next class together?"

Adeline has a soft smile as she says "I'd appreciate that."

Adeline is waiting for Marinette to pack her things, when she was ready they wanted to go outside but their classmates blocked the door, apart from Chloe, Sabrina, Rose, Juleka and Ivan.

Adeline says "You're blocking the door."

Alya ignores what she has to say and says angrily "Who do you think you are?!"

Adeline deadpanned "A student who wants to go to the next class."

Marinette had to hold back her laughter.

Before Alya could say anything, Nino says, "You don't understand how upset Lila is because of you."

"No, and I really don't care at all." Adeline bluntly replies.

Lila started to cry "Why are you being so mean to me? I just wanted-"

"Shut up and get out of our way. I really don't want to hear any accusations.” Adeline says impatiently.

Her classmates were dumbstrucked. Especially Lila. She was furious that she couldn't even finish her sentence.

Adeline didn't want to wait any longer for them to make room and began to lead the way. However, her path is blocked by Kim.

He crosses his arms and threatens, "Apologize to Lila right away, otherwise you'll be sorry."

Adeline started laughing heartily.

It confuses he classmates.

Kim asks "Why are you laughing?"

Adeline wipes away a tear as she says "Do you seriously think I'm scared of you? I defeated you without hitting you once. What do you think will happen if I get serious?“

Kim gulps at the thought.

As nobody says anything, Adeline pushes Kim aside before she and Marinette walk past everyone.

As they walk on their way to the next class, Marinette says, "That was really impressive what you did. How did you manage to defeat Kim? I saw that you didn't attack him."

Adeline explains without going into too much detail, “In my old school there was some kind of self-defense class. In the course I often fought and won against others. Sometimes even without attacking them directly.” She keeps it to herself that it were magic duels.

Marinette's eyes widen in respect. "I wish I could fight back like you do."

Adeline giggles "Why are you talking like that you can't fight?"

Marinette tilted her head "Huh?"

Adeline says as if it's obvious "I saw you. You wanted to intervene when Kim attacked me. Furthermore, I can see very clearly that you are not as weak as you appear on the outside.”

Marinette asks in a barely audible voice, "How did you know?"

Adeline says with a toothy smile, while they walk into the next room "Like I said, I‘m observant."

———————————————————————
Later, during lunch break.

During the course of the day, during the joint lessons, Marinette and Adeline became good friends.

They were on their way to the cafeteria, but when they noticed their classmates sitting at a table and Lila telling them a new lie, they both stopped abruptly.

Adeline says "I've really heard her voice enough for one day. Can we go eat somewhere else?”

Marinette nods "With pleasure."

“I saw a bakery nearby. Shall we eat there?”
