Chapter Text
Buck knew logically that his life history wasn’t normal. That the things he got caught up in, happened around him, experienced, or done, just wasn’t the average person’s life.
In retrospect telling Maddie that he wanted to be Forrest Gump when he grew up might have been what the Universe decided to listen to and run with.
Kind of like that proverb, May You Live In Interesting Times, being a curse, not a blessing.
He was just thankful the interesting times at the 118 hadn’t actually killed anyone.
He knew, logically, it wouldn’t be his fault. But Buck never said he was logical.
It wasn’t like he was trying to hide his time before the 118. It just didn’t come up. And he didn’t want to bring things up, since they sounded so ridiculous and outlandish.
Then She showed up.
His Stalker. She Who Prefers to Refer to Herself as ‘Evan Buckley’s PR Agent’ despite being nothing of the sort.
