Work Text:
Tim wasn’t really sure who he was.
Sure, he was Tim Drake-Wayne, CEO of Wayne Enterprises, and Red Robin, hard working Gotham vigilante. But in his mind, those were both personas, with no real substantial personality.
But then again maybe that’s what Tim Drake was too, just a persona.
Tim couldn’t really think of things he liked.
He distantly remembers liking photography, but that stopped when he moved in with the Wayne’s.
He liked Robin, but nowadays Robin surely doesn’t like him.
Tim did however know that other people liked things.
Dick likes it when he smiles, so Tim smiles a lot around him.
Jason likes it when people laugh at his jokes, so Tim laughs at all his jokes, even the ones that make him internally wince.
Bruce likes it when Tim works hard, so he works the hardest out of anyone in the family.
Cass likes is when people listen, so Tim just listens to everything she says, drinks it in like a sponge.
Damian likes it when he stays quiet, out of the way and useful.
Actually, that’s what most people like from Tim.
Maybe that’s why Tim didn’t have many interests. Because he simply wasn’t important enough. He was there only to help them shine, even if it means that he fades to the back.
Maybe at one point Tim Drake was more than a persona, more than simply a stage light in everyone else’s show, but clearly, nobody quite liked him as anything more (his parents made that very clear) so a stage light is what he’ll be.
