Chapter Text
Chapter 1, Remember.
Craig looked around at his familiar class, he had grew up with these people and they pretty much all looked the same. Mr Garrison was a little older now but he still managed to handle the whole class as he had been doing since 3rd grade. The raven haired boy scanned his eyes around the room until he landed on the desk next to him. A boy in an orange parka, Kenny Mccormick. He was out cold on his desk, he could swear he even saw drool dripping from his desk. Every time he layed eyes on him he couldn't help but feel his heart hurt, but why? Mccormick was an pervy asshole, not someone to feel bad for.
I studied him, the way he layed at his desk quietly. His chest lifting up and down peacefully as he slept. I can't shake the feeling that deep down i know something about this boy that my mind isn't letting me remember. I hate it. Stupid bastard, making me think this fucking hard. Maybe he did something to me, like manifested me with some crystals or some shit. Nah, that's Wendy's thing.
Class dragged on for another half an hour until ever student ( except Kenny ) was scared half to death by a loud yell. "KENNY MCCORMICK ARE YOU SLEEPING IN MY CLASS AGAIN?" Everyone looked over at the sleeping boy and a few snickers were let out here and there. "Kenny you lazy fuck!" Kyle poked his friend with a ruler & got no response whatsoever. Craig noticed he had been sleeping a lot in classes lately, but why? Mr Garrison walked over to his desk and lifted his head up, which instantly caused him to hide his face with his hands. He mumbled something under his coat which sounded like he said 'fuck off' which must've been correct as Stan, Kyle & Eric started laughing and ooing. Mr Garrison shook his head and lifted kenny's head all the way up. "You sleep anywhere but this class." The tired boy waved his hand indicating for the teacher to go away whilst muttering.
I find it strange how Kyle, Cartman & Stan can all understand their friends muffled voice perfectly but to the rest of us it's barley readable. Sometimes it makes sense and other times it's complete nonsense. Maybe i should learn his little language, but why should i even care? Even if he does give me a terrible feeling every time i lay eyes upon him it doesn't mean i should react to that. He's just another guy in school, he means absolutely nothing.
Kenny rested his arm on his head and looked toward Craig, who strangely enough, was staring right at him. He was lost in thought so he didn't look away and the boy in the orange parka laughed a little. "The fuck you looking at tucker?" He mumbled but in a more understandable way. Suddenly the raven headed boy snapped back to reality and turned his head away, flipping him off as doing so. How embarrassing. Finally, the bell rang and the class was dismissed for lunch. Craig didn't really care for lunch since all they did was sit down and talk and that wasn't a favorable thing of his. He approached his locker and met up with his friends Clyde, Token & Tweek. He grabbed his lunchbox and shoved it into his bag. "Ngh- Hey Craig!"
"Hey."
"Are you b-busy later?"
"No?"
"You wanna maybe grab a coffee?"
"Not really Tweek"
"But you said ack- you weren't busy?"
"I just don't want to"
Ever since we broke up in 6th grade he's been non stop asking me out. I feel a little bad but he needs to just move on and realize i don't like him like that anymore, to be honest i never really did. Everyone forced us together and i just went along with it until the whole "Gays are cute!" Thing died down and i broke it off. I don't think Tweek has a crush on me but i think he just wants someone to love again, which is reasonable i guess.
Suddenly he snapped out of thought and was met with an almost empty hallway. He must've been lost in thought again. "What assholes." he shut his locker and made his way down to the cafeteria. He saw his friends, who decided to sit on the same table as Eric's group. He approached them and realized the only available seat was next to Kenny, he wanted to just turn around and leave but Clyde had already noticed him and called him over, loudly. This caused Kenny & Kyle to turn around, the ginger didn't care and carried on talking but the boy in the orange parka continued to look at him, almost like he was lost in his eyes. Craig glared at Clyde before taking his seat next to Kenny, scooting over to Token as much as he could. The three engulfed into conversation, leaving Craig alone with his thoughts as per usual. He bit into his sandwich and found himself listening in on the other tables conversation.
"Kenny, you didn't bring anything again?"
Muffled: "No fuck off i couldn't be bothered."
He didn't bring any food? What a weirdo.
"Or your just to poor!" Cartman laughed at his own insensitivity.
"Or your fatass ate it."
"Shut up kahl you fucking jew!"
Wow, those two are quick to anger aren't they? Poor Stan & Kenny.
Craig watched from the corner of his eye as the two argued back and forth whilst Stan effortlessly tried to break it up. Kenny layed his head on the table and placed his hands over his head. The raven headed boy felt the weird hurt in his heart again and at the risk of looking soft he tapped the boy. No response. He got a little pissed and hit his head, not to hard though.
Muffled: "The fuck?"
He looked up and came face to face with Craig, who was oddly enough holding out half of his sandwich to him. Kenny hesitated a little but took it and took a small bite. "Craig?" He looked away from Kenny and faced Clyde, who was almost laughing. "Did you just be nice-" He laughed along with Token but Tweek stayed silent. He flipped them off and continued eating, trying to ignore his friends taunting him. Finally, the bell for 6th period rang and he ran out of the lunch room quicker than ever. He wanted to kick Clydes ass right then and there but another afternoon outside the councilors office didn't appeal to him. The next lesson he had was art, which overall wasn't to bad but it was boring and a-lot of people say it's for "gaywads" The only people Craig knew in the class were Tweek, Kyle, Stan, Kenny, BeBe & Clyde. He took his usual spot on a small table consisting of Tweek & Token before beginning to paint.
Today has been weird, especially since one guy keeps randomly popping up, Craig Tucker. Id should i say Craig Fucker. Aha, but no really why is he being weird all of a sudden. We haven't spoke since grade school and NOW he's deciding to talk with me? It's not like i care or anything but i just wanna know if he's softening up to me just to get a quick blowjob or something. Guess i really am a slut. That's what a lot of people do to me, they be overly nice in exchange for sexual pleasure & most of the time i do it because i feel bad saying no. I can't say i haven't enjoyed myself because usually the feeling is amazing, but it's not passionate and that's where it gets boring. Y'know i just realized i'm late to art period, i'm pretty sure that fuck is in there too, i wonder what he wants from me.
Craig started painting his small clay piece when he noticed a few people missing.
That's odd. Kyle, Stan & Kenny are absent. Hm. Probably skipping like little assholes, if my friends weren't such pussies id be skipping as well but skipping alone is boring. Jeez, this art piece sucks ass i've never understood how one can be so good at painting. It's a skill i certainly admire. Tokens pretty good at it and Clyde.. Well he's Clyde obviously it's shit, and i mean that in the nicest manner possible. There's something off about today, i keep noticing Kenny WAY more than i should and i feel like my mind is hiding something from me, and i just can't put my finger on it.
Right on que, a bright orange parka showed up at the door with a little wave toward the teacher. "Your 10 minutes late Kenneth." She handed him his art piece and he looked around for his friends.
Muffled: "Miss my friends aren't here."
The teacher raised an eyebrow at him and stared at the empty table. "Little rascals." She looked around the room and her eyes settled on a desk. "Go work with those boys." Token looked up and smiled, inviting him over. Craig looked at Tweek from the corner of his eye and watched him roll his eyes before making room for him. "Hi Kenny." The boy waved and placed his art work on the table.
It was.. beautiful. I never knew Kenny had such talent.. It was painted almost professionally and i can tell it took forever. What a coincidence that he has to sit here, i wonder if he purposely got his friends to dip to mess with me. Nah, i'm thinking to far into it. On the other hand, how the hell did our teacher manage to understand him? I can just barley make the words he say possible in my head and she seems fluent. I can see Tweek in the corner of my eye and he looks pissed off, i wonder what he has against Kenny. Well, he's here now so i might as well make the most of it.
"Kenneth huh?" Craig snickered a little. He looked up from his art work and glared at him. "K e n n y" He muffled. Craig shook his head and continued with his work, it was so weird. Usually he'd be comfortable making jokes or comments to anyone but Kenny was different. He gave off so much mixed signals it almost paralyzed him. Slowly the raven headed boy found himself staring at him painting. The way he layed the lines so delicately, the way he was calm and concentrated. It weirdly soothed him, which made him feel weird to think. The bell rang which seemed a lot quicker than usual and he was glad he could finally get home. Today dragged on way longer than it should have. As he stepped out of the classroom he noticed the bright orange parka in front of him, he had forgetten Kenny also took the bus. Whatever, it didn't really matter as longs as he could get home he'd take the bus with a million tricias.
Out of order.
The bus is out of FUCKING ORDER? Goddd damn it! If this stupid day couldn't get any worse i now have to walk home. The paths are so much muddier today so now my shoes are definitely fucked. Oh hey, i forgot i can make a shortcut through the graveyard, i'm not scared of that stuff anyways.
Craig made his way through the many graves until one very clean stone caught his attention. He felt that same dread he felt whenever he saw Kenny. "What the.."
Here lies, Kenneth Mccormick.
Son, nephew & friend.
Then it clicked. Every memory flooded back into his brain. Every death, every brutality. Images of Kenny being decapitated, stabbed, shot, ran over. It all came back and he felt like throwing up. He remembered how nobody cared, how it all just went back to normal and Kenny came back like nothing had happened. "You.."
He could feel his eyes swelling with tears as he swallowed in pain.
"You fucking idiot!"
"I remember!"
"You always die yet your still here!"
He could feel his face heat up with anger and dread.
"i'm so attached to you because i've watched you die a million times."
"It's funny, actually."
"How someone can survive so much."
"But why do i forget?"
"i know once i leave, the memory's that haunt me will fade away once again.."
"I hate you Kenny.."
He felt tears flood down his face, he remembered how close they were until he was killed. He then couldn't remember the friendship they stared as the death wiped that from his mind. Slowly, he pulled out his phone and took a picture of the grave.
He WAS going to remember.
