Chapter Text
This year would mark your 7th and final year at Hogwarts, and you’ve made up your mind. You are going to make Severus Snape fall in love with you. Ever since your 5th year at Hogwarts, Professor Snape has been creeping his way into your mind day by day. Every occasional glance your way, praise given, and even scolding, would make your heart flutter in your chest and you just couldn’t get enough of it. You needed more, and you would do anything to make that happen.
Though this task seems impossible to you, this is the last year you have to make your love for your professor into something real. You’ve been pining for the bitter older man for two years now, and you’re tired of waiting. Having gotten the opportunity to become Snape’s personal assistant in potions, you were going to use this as your way onto his radar.
Although you have been in his class for years now, you were treated just the same as everyone else, perhaps except for getting verbally assaulted every now and then for some slip-ups during labs. You had a habit of being the target of his cynicism. You were honestly quite surprised when he accepted you as his assistant, but you certainly didn’t mind.
Getting to be in his classroom so often was nice, but it always felt like you were being watched. During the many times throughout his classes that you would imagine him taking you on his desk in front of the entire class, you would sometimes get one too many glares from the professor before class ended. Though you liked the possibility of a certain someone peering in on your nasty thoughts about him, you knew that it was unlikely. Despite the potential of getting caught, your feelings for Professor Snape far outweighed that fear.
Regardless, the semester starts tomorrow and you couldn’t be more excited. While picking out which out-of-dress code mini skirt you were going to wear tomorrow, your roommate Faye walks in, interrupting your dress-up session.
“OMG (Y/n), you will never guess who was staring at me during dinner!” She beamed, running up to you, and taking your hands into hers. You smiled back at her. “Let me guess, Cedric?” I rolled my eyes. “Yes, yes, yes! It was so wonderful, I missed him so much during the break. Maybe this will be the year, you know?”
Faye was your best friend ever since your first year at Hogwarts. Despite your houses being different, with you being in Slytherin and her being in Hufflepuff, it’s never caused any issues between the two of you. Although you both exchanged your deepest secrets together, you still haven’t told her about your infatuation for your potions professor. It’s not that you didn’t trust her, it was something you were too scared to share. Plus, Faye does have a bit of a habit of teasing you in front of your crushes, and you definitely couldn’t have that happening.
“But yeah, I just wanted to stop by before curfew and visit you. I’ll see you at breakfast, okay? Night (Y/n)!” Faye let go of your hands, still smiling, and shut the door behind her. You smile back, “Night.”
After picking out your cutest outfit for your cynical professor, you do your nightly routine and fall asleep, or at least try to. You haven’t seen Snape all summer and you just couldn’t wait to be in his presence again. His luscious black hair falls softly on his shoulders and his icy cold glare stays present in your mind, keeping you awake. You couldn’t wait to see his figure tower over yours and for his oh-so-large hands to concoct whatever brew he had in store for you the next day. Finally, though, you calm yourself down with the help of your filthy imagination and eventually fall soundly asleep.
