König POV
“Ew! Look at him! He’s a monster!” A cacophony of screams and cries echoed through the playground as the other children around him pointed at him. “N-No, i’m not…” König whispered, tears brimming in his eyes as he tried to approach them, despite his height. He easily towered over them, making himself look intimidating. “No! Get away from us, monster!” Someone shouted, pushing him onto the harsh pavement ground. He could feel their stares boring into his face, making him cower in fear. Tears threatened to spill as he sniffed, not wanting to look weak. Eventually, he sobbed, other kids laughing as they criticised him. “What a crybaby!” “Why is he crying? We should be the ones that are scared!” “What are you gonna do? Cry to mommy?” König sniffed as laughter echoed around him, making his head hurt.
Make it stop. Please.
König awoke to himself crying out, beads of sweat coating his entire body as he desperately tried to untangle himself from the blankets. “No, no, no…” König mumbled, trembling hard as he cowered, hands wrapped around his own body as he tried to make himself as small as possible. “Make it stop,” He pleaded, tears brimming in his eyes as his vision became blurry form the tears.
”Love! Are you okay? What’s going on?” König heard a familiar voice, immediately flinching at it. He felt a warm embrace holding him close, sweet nothings being whispered into his ear as he got patted on the head, an attempt to make him feel safe.
“Horangi…?” König whispered as he hugged him tightly, not wanting to let go. “Yes, yes, it’s me, love. How are you doing? Are you fine?” Horangi asked, his voice concerned as he patted könig’s head, comforting him. “Nothing, it’s just…” König sighed as he hugged horangi, “A bad memory.” Horangi hummed in understanding as he planted kisses on his forehead, wiping away his sweat.
”Dont worry, love, I’ll always be here for you, okay? You’re safe with me.” Horangi smiled, kissing him on the cheek as they laid down on the bed together. König sighed in relief as he felt reassured once again. There was something about horangi that he couldn’t quite place. The way he makes könig feel safe, the way he makes könig feel loved, the way he makes könig feel special. König always felt comforted by his presence, and he always felt relieved when horangi was there.
Horangi, his best friend, his lover, his safe space.
“Ich liebe dich, schatz.” König whispered as he felt himself doze off. “I love you more, love.” He heard horangi whisper before he dozed off.
