Work Text:
Lando stood in the dark city, eyes on one person only. His mask was tight on his face and his lips were set in a line. His coms crackled to life and Daniels voice filled his ear.
“It should take me ten minutes at most. All you have to do is distract him, keep him away from the building.”
“Copy.” Lando replied. The line went silent, it was go time. Daniel was going into the building Moros, the cities greatest villain, had bombed. No one was killed, they knew that from the report given by the police, but there were fugitives. Moros had fled the scene to watch from a distance and had left his goonies in charge. Daniel was going in to save the captured and it was Lando’s job to distract Moros so he wouldn’t realize.
Lando crept through the alleyways and onto the roof Moros was last seen at. He had never encountered the supervillain during his training, yet it would be stupid to think he never would, especially after Daniel, number one hero, had taken him as his sidekick. Lando hoped the villain wouldn’t murder him on the spot. He didn’t get paid enough to deal with that shit.
As Lando climbed to roof he noticed Moros’ figure by the opposite edge. He huffed as he got to the top then spoke. “Don’t tell me you climb the roof to make dramatic spectacles all the time. I’m not in good enough shape to be doing this shit.”
Moros turned to him, surprise lit his eyes. Lando swallowed then nodded at the man. It probably wasn’t the smartest thing to do but he was fucking nervous. After being so close to the cities most feared person he couldn’t help but study him for a moment. Dark hair, dark eyes, dark red mask, full lips. The man had on the same type of mask all the hero department wore. Thin fabric around the eyes, nothing else. Most didn’t care for a secret identity but it was the law. Lando didn’t understand how the mask really kept their identities secret when all it covered was their eyebrows, and the ridge of their noses.
“This is a surprise.” Moros grinned. Lando almost fucking folded there because of his voice. It was deep and carried an accent. Lando was weak for accents. He shook his head, clearing the thoughts. This was a supervillain, not a character in a book. He couldn’t find this man hot. “My, my, I haven’t seen you before. Don’t tell me you’re hero number one’s new pet?”
Lando smiled weakly. “Yep, definitely not me, I’m just an innocent bystander.”
The man tilted his head, eyes trailing his frame. “I’m sure you are.”
Lando felt vulnerable under the man’s hated gaze. He shifted slightly, bringing his arms to cover his chest.
“Don’t be shy.” The villain murmured, stepping closer to him, an arms length away. “I won’t hurt you.”
Lando took a step back. “Why would I believe that?”
“Fair play. What’s your name, little sidekick?” Moros didn’t try to come closer, instead he stayed rooted in his spot, watching him. The wind picked up making him shiver.
“Do you like winter? If you do you’re crazy.” Lando’s teeth were chattering. It was freezing. The villains lips twisted into a grin, not a predatory like one, but a soft one. Lando didn’t notice.
“Winter is not my favorite season, no. I’m sure it’s not anyone’s in this city.”
Lando shook his head. “I’m a fall kind of guy. You though, you look like one of those gross spring lovers.”
Lando scrunched his nose in disgust at the thought of sneezing all day and the bipolar weather of spring.
“What’s wrong with spring! The flowers grow!” The world class super villain seemed awfully offended at the fact Lando didn’t like spring.
“You are a horrible person for that. Screw all the crimes you did, that fact you’re a spring lover is the worst of all.”
“Loving spring is worse than the thousands of people I killed?” The villain worded the question carefully, yet Lando could feel the warning in the words spoken. He was messing with the illusion that he wasn’t the mouse in the cat and mouse game they were playing. He was joking with this murderer, pretending that the man couldn’t kill him with his bare hands. A silence spread over the two.
Lando took a deep breath. This is where he should have stopped messing around, this is where every hero would capture the villain. He couldn’t. “Yes, I’m afraid so. Spring needs to be banned.”
“Would you rather have two seasons of fall?” The villain questioned, running a hand through his hair. The man was genuinely having a conversation with him. Lando Norris was having a conversation with a fucking super villain.
“Uh, hell yeah.” Lando said like it was obvious. “Every normal person would. It’s only the greatest season.”
“That’s where you’re wrong kid.”
“Im not a kid!” Lando sputtered. He glared at the man who had a hint of glee in his eyes.
“You definitely are. Who wears a bright orange mask?”
“I am of the legal age of consent.” Lando sassed. “Not that you needed to know that.”
The villains eyes darkened. “I definitely did.”
“How old are you then? Mr. age judger.” Lando didn’t notice the way the mans eyes were tracing his body. Marking his claim.
“Older than you, most definitely.”
“Okay. That’s not a number. How do I know I’m not talking to some old ass man?” Lando muttered. “You’re name is probably Bernard or some shit.”
“I’m in my twenties,” Moros replied, “and my name is not Bernard.”
Lando gave him a look that screamed, sure buddy, then ran a hand through his wind swept curls. He looked at his watch. It was past eleven.
“What is it past your bedtime?” The villain taunted.
“It is actually.” Lando was fucking tired. The villain had stepped closer to him, without him realizing. Lando tried to step backward but the roofs edge was behind him. A tension filled the air as Moros took another step towards him. Lando’s heart was pounding in his chest. His strategy of talking hadn’t worked and now he was fucked.
“As much as I loved our little chat. I have a feeling you’re here for something else.” Lando shrunk into himself, another habit of his that the heroes couldn’t train out of him. The villain had a few feet over him. The man probably had height enhancers in his boots. Lando dropped his gaze, and fumbled for words. Nerves overtook him and he spoke without thinking.
“I can’t even visit the number one super villain now? Do I need to have a motive?”
“Cute.” Moros tusked. “Lies aren’t helping you, pretty boy, why are you here?”
Lando opened his mouth but his coms cracked to life once more, saving his ass.
“Im done. Evacuate.” Daniels voice was hoarse but filled with relief.
Lando smiled. “It was nice meeting you, Moros.”
The sidekick chose to dive off the room and into the dumpster below him, before running off into the dark alleyways of the cities. He felt the man’s burning gaze on him the rest of his patrol. He knew he was watching, from where, that’s where he was clueless.
-
It sky was dark with a promising storm ahead. Daniel and him had been on patrol and hadn’t run into any problems. That was strange enough considering they always ran into something.
“You want to get ice cream after this?” Daniel questioned as they walked down another dark alley.
“Uh yeah, you’re paying.”
Daniel rolled his eyes. “Of course I am.”
“Hey, you’re loaded with cash. I don’t want to hear it.”
Daniel sighed. “I am not loaded. I am comfortable.”
“Thats what someone who is loaded says.” Lando scanned the alley, suddenly feeling as though someone was watching him. Daniel noticed the change in his expression and perked up, watching the alleyway for movement.
“I feel like someone is watching me.” He whispered through the heavy silence.
Daniel wrapped an arm around him, “Lets go get you that ice cream.”
-
“Hello again.” Lando whipped around. Moros was leaning against the wall behind him. Daniel had gone off to assess another hero that had gotten injured and had left Lando alone. It was a rational decision as they hadn’t run into a single person in the past three hours. Yet their Moros was. Lando didn’t know what to say.
“Cat got your tongue?” He tusked. Lando started to back up. He could run through the alley across from the villain, but then Daniel wouldn’t know where he was. The two hadn’t brought their coms, it was supposed to be a short patrol.
“You can’t leave, we were just starting our conversation.” Lando paused, the villain clearly knew he was trying to escape. The man had a smirk on his face and started to walk towards him.
“Consider the conversation over.” Lando blurted out, turning his back to the villain to leave. Big mistake.
A hand gripped his elbow and then Lando felt breath hot on his neck. “Not so fast.”
The villains body wasn’t touching him but he was close enough that Lando could feel the heat of his skin. He shivered before going ridged.
“I thought we were having a conversation, no?” The villains hand began to move from the back of his elbow up his arm. “Didn’t you ever learn that it’s rude to leave in the middle of a conversation?” Lando’s throat felt like it was closing, he couldn’t get a word out, not even a squeak. The villains hand was resting on his tense shoulder. This was the moment he died. Daniel was going to come back to find his mangled body on the side of the road.
He stopped breathing. Then the villain spoke again, softer, “I’m not going to hurt you.”
Lando inhaled sharply, then spoke at a whisper, his voice cracking. “Why would I believe that?”
The villains hand moved to his neck, resting there, not hurting him. “I like you, little hero, if I wanted to kill you I would have already.”
“That’s not comforting.” Lando was really starting to freak out. What did this man want if it wasn’t to kill him? kidnap him and sell him on the black market? Then the villain pressed against him. Lando was encompassed by the man’s body heat. He didn’t want to move, he didn’t even want to breathe.
“No?” The villains other hand came to rest on his waist. He tried not to arch into the touch but failed miserably.
“Definitely not.” Lando croaked out. Moros chuckled.
“How can I prove to you that I won’t hurt you?” The villain whispered it into his ear and Lando was having trouble standing at this point. He made a noise in the back of his throat, something between a hum and a whine. Moros’ hand went from his waist to around his stomach, holding the sidekick against him. Lando’s stomach clenched against the man’s warm hand.
“I—“ Lando couldn’t get his words out. The villain pressed his lips to the shell of his cold ear.
“You?” He murmured. Moros’ other hand, the one that was on his neck, began to move. His fingers traced the vein of Lando’s neck then his jaw, over and over.
When Lando didn’t answer, the villain spoke again. “Don’t be scared of me. I don’t want you to be scared of me.”
Lando made another noise in his throat.
“Please.” Moros whispered. Lando let his head fall backwards till it rested on Moros’ shoulder. He closed his eyes. Was he sick for wanting this? He had a hard life until Daniel. He was always hungry, always working, never loved. Daniel changed that in many ways but the ache in Lando’s heart proved he needed something more. Daniel loved him, yes, but not the way he needed to be loved.
“Thats it,” Moros whispered. “Its okay.”
“Lando!” Daniel’s voice was loud, and sudden, and it made him jump. Moros’ hands vanished.
“Lando! Are you still over here?” Daniel spoke again, voice close, but he was far enough away to not see him.
“Yeah—I’m here!” Lando spoke after a few seconds, trying to compose himself. He turned and Moros was gone.
Daniel came into view, a smile on his face. “We are good to go home. They don’t need us because the activity is so low. Want to finish our movie?”
Lando grinned despite being shaken up, “Of course I do.”
The two began to walk and yet again, Lando felt eyes on him the entire way back to the hero tower.
-
The two were on patrol once more. It was evening and Lando was walking down a small alley way. He hadn’t seen Moros in a few weeks, he hadn’t been on patrol in a few weeks. He had to go back home. Not to Daniels house, but his actual home. His parents still had legal guardianship of him. He stayed at Daniels the majority of the time yet had to go back home so his parents wouldn’t take Daniel to court.
Daniel had tried to get custody of him yet his parents lived in a picture perfect home and portrayed that they were in a picture perfect family. They didn’t think to check his skin for bruises or to check the empty pantry. Lando was taking patrol easy considering the fact his body was battered in bruises. He had hand marks around his neck that he failed to cover up, along with a massive bruise on his temple. His ribs were even worse. They were filled with discolored skin that were shaped with boot imprints.
Daniel didn’t want him to patrol, but Lando managed to convince him he was okay after swallowing three Advils.
The hero had gone off to stop a band of thieves and had forced Lando to stay where he was. Lando obliged. For once. Now he was walking down a dark, empty road. It was so late that the moon had set, leaving him in mostly darkness. Lando tipped his head back and studied the stars.
“Do you have a favorite star?” A voice asked, stepping behind him. Lando hummed. Moros’ hands rested on his shoulders and Lando didn’t have the energy in him to care.
“Venus.”
“Did you know that Venus is either a morning star or night star? For so many days a year it is a morning star then it sets and becomes a night star.” Lando tilted his head back to look at the villain.
“Its a night star right now, isn’t it?” His voice came out soft, vulnerable.
“Yes, it is.” Moros scanned his face quietly. Lando let him. The villains hand came up to trace his bruise. His fingers were warm despite the freezing temperatures.
“Can I ask what happened?”
Lando shook his head. “I can’t tell you.”
The villains face hardened. “Was it the heroes?”
“No— no, he would never hurt me.” Lando was quick to speak.
The villain studied him carefully. “Family then.”
Lando didn’t deny it.
Moros’ hand fell from his face then he froze. He listened for a moment then grabbed Lando and yanked him into a random door in an alley.
“What the—“ Lando yelled but was quickly stopped when Moros shoved a hand over his mouth. The space was small, so small that Lando was pressed to the villains chest.
“Where are you?” It was Daniel. Lando struggled against the villain. He wanted Daniel, he needed to get to Daniel. Moros didn’t budge, he held him tighter. “Where the hell did you go?”
Daniel began to walk away and Lando struggled even harder.
“Stop struggling if you want your friend to live.” Moros whispered in his ear. Lando didn’t need to be told twice. He froze and Daniel after a few moments of calling for him, left. Lando’s eyes brimmed with tears. A muffled sob left his mouth.
Lando felt the hands around him loosen then Moros spoke again. “I’m sorry.”
Something smashed against his head and the world faded from his tear filled eyes.
-
Lando woke up slow.
That was the first red flag. Lando never woke up slow. He either woke up from fists or Daniels loud ass alarm.
When he opened his eyes his skull was pounding. He winced and closed his eyes again before realizing he wasn’t in his room. He wasn’t even in Daniels room. Lando jumped up, world spinning for a moment. He fell off the bed he was on and hit the floor with a loud bang. He got up quickly and studied the room around him. He was in a bedroom.
He was alone. Memories of the night before flashed through his head. His hands flew to his face. His mask was still there. Lando took a shaky breath, where was he?
Then footsteps were coming towards him. He stumbled to the door, without a plan in his mind other than to knock this fucker out.
The door opened slowly and then someone walked in. Lando didn’t think he just lunged at the person, taking them down to the floor with him. It was a man. He yelped from the sudden impact but then grabbed Lando’s arm, twisting it behind his back.
Somehow the man landed on top of him, pinning him to the floor. He tried to buck up against the man but he twisted his arm tighter. Lando hissed from the pain.
“Stop.” One word. That’s all it took for him to freeze. That was Moros’ voice. Moros hadn’t sold him to some black market dealer. “Calm down.”
Lando huffed but relaxed slightly.
“I’m going to get off you. Don’t run, there’s no where to go.”
The man’s weight left his back and Lando stumbled up. When he looked at Moros he was expecting to see his dark red mask and dark clothes.
The man was bare faced and dressed in a white dress shirt. Lando froze. This man, was hot, and so clearly rich.
“Lando—“ Moros spoke, Lando jumped backwards, jaw agape.
“No.” Lando muttered, shaking his head. “No. No. No—”
His voice broke at the end. If Moros was showing his face he wasn’t going to let him go. Moros reached a hand out and Lando flinched backwards.
“Leave.” He whispered eyes wide. “Get the fuck away from me!”
“Listen—“ Moros tried to speak but Lando stumbled away from the man and into the wall behind him.
“Leave me alone!” Lando yelled, clutching his head and sinking to the floor below him. “Please.”
Silence filled the room and Lando stayed still with his shaking hands over his eyes.
“Please.” He whispered, voice cracking as tears clouded his eyes.
The door clicked shut and when Lando looked up, he was alone.
-
Lando didn’t know how much time passed before the man came back into the room he was in. Lando hadn’t moved from his spot on the floor. He didn’t look up as the villain entered the room. He didn’t speak either. Moros was the one to talk.
“I didn’t bring you here to hurt you.”
Lando didn’t say anything in return but he rose his head to look at the villain. The man looked calm, but an emotion shone behind his eyes, one that Lando couldn’t recognize. Moros stepped further into the room and studied him quietly, teeth biting his bottom lip.
“Why am I here then?” Lando asked, anger filling his voice, masking the fear he felt. Moros walked to him, leaving an inch of space between them. Lando looked into his brown eyes with a furrowed brow. Moros cupped his cheek.
“I like you. I want to spend time with you.”
“So you kidnapped me!” Lando yelled, watching Moros grimace. “There was a better alternative than fucking kidnapping me!”
“I apologize, I didn’t think it through very well.”
Lando brushed Moros hand away from him. “Yeah, you didn’t.”
“I won’t hurt you.” Moros told him again.
“Will you let me go?” Lando needed to know. The question had plagued his mind ever since he saw the villain without his mask.
“Yes. Stay a night or two.”
A silence fell over the two and Lando stood up. Knowing the villain was going to let him go, his panic had faded away. Moros didn’t tower over him like he had in his villain getup.
“Do you wear height enhancing boots?”
Moros’ face told him enough. Lando cackled, everything negative feeling he felt since he had woken up faded away as he saw Moros try and explain himself. “Oh my god, you do.”
The villains hand scratched his neck awkwardly. “I do.”
Then Lando looked at Moros. “What’s your name?”
Moros chuckled and stepped closer to him. Lando backed up, running into the wall behind him. Moros took another step forward, until they were nearly touching. Lando’s eyes flickered to the villains lips then back to his eyes. He was entering dangerous territory here.
“Why would that be fair? I don’t know what you look like.” Lando frowned.
“I can’t keep calling you Moros in my head. It ruins the vibe.”
Moros smirked. “Oh does it?”
Lando bit his bottom lip then nodded slowly. Feeling daring, he spoke. “It really does you know. Turns me off.”
Moros’ eyes lit in surprise then he leaned closer to Lando. “What will you give me if I tell you my name?”
“What do you want?” Lando whispered, breath hitting the other mans lips.
Moros hummed, “You.”
Lando pretend like he was pondering Moros’ words then he answered. “Deal.”
Moros watched him for a moment then leaned in slowly. Lando hummed as Moros’ lips pressed against his. It was gentle, and slow, and not what he was expecting from the supervillain. Lando pressed himself tighter against the villain, opening his mouth to allow the man’s tongue to slide in. Moros swiped the upper fold of his lip before pulling away.
“Carlos.”
“What?” Lando asked, dazed.
“My name.” Moros, Carlos, said. Lando grinned, then pulled the man back to him. Carlos kissed him steadily, making his toes curl. After what felt like hours Carlos pulled away and turned his attention to the side of Lando’s neck. He began to work his mouth from his jaw to his collarbone. Lando let out a loud whine, twitching in the man’s hold. Carlos drug his lip to the shell of Lando’s ear before he pulled away. The man’s pupils were dilated and he was breathing heavily. Lando wasn’t far behind him, his heart was racing and he felt lightheaded.
“Do you want to continue?” Carlos whispered, not forcing, just asking. Lando’s breath stuttered then he nodded quickly. Carlos took his hand and led him to the bed. Once Lando settled himself in the middle of the bed Carlos climbed on top of him and connected their lips once more. It wasn’t demanding or rough, it was soft and everything Lando thought wasn’t possible to have. He thought love was rough, harsh. He thought it was sharp words and fists, not this.
Lando didn’t think love could feel like this.
Carlos pulled away away, kissing the bruise on his temple, then tugging at the hem of his shirt. Lando let him pull his shirt off then grew subconscious at the man’s stare. He crossed his arms over his chest. Carlos’ eyes flickered to his. Lando knew his body was a mess of discolored skin, put there by the hands of his father.
Carlos ran his finger in soothing circles around the skin Lando hadn’t covered. “You’re perfect.”
Lando felt the redness seeping in his skin. His cheeks felt hot. Carlos tugged at his arms, gently and Lando let him move them to the side. The man began to kiss down his skin, occasionally flicking his tongue out. Lando’s breath quickened and he threaded his hands through the man’s hair. It was soft, and he couldn’t help but run his fingers through it. As Carlos got closer to his waist band Lando began to overthink.
What if he was horrible at this? What if he messed up somehow? What if the villain hurt him?
Lando tensed and after a moment Carlos broke away and looked at him. Lando’s expression must have said enough because Carlos spoke. “What’s wrong?”
“Im scared.” Lando whispered, so quietly Carlos almost didn’t hear him.
“Of what cariño?”
Lando shrugged unable to put his feelings into words. He avoided eye contact with Carlos. He shouldn’t have said anything.
Then Carlos cupped his jaw and nudged it softly, forcing Lando to look at him. “I won’t judge you Lando. I want to understand you and what you want, even if it’s something you think is stupid.”
Lando bit his bottom lip. “I’ve—“
Carlos rubbed his jaw in reassurance.
“I’ve never done this before. I— I just don’t want to make it bad, or mess up.”
Carlos kissed him, a short press of his lips to Lando’s before he spoke. “You won’t make it bad. You cant. It’s not possible, you’re perfect.”
Lando was still hesitant. He spoke again, quiet as before. “Will it hurt?”
“I swear I will make sure it doesn’t hurt. It may feel weird at first, but it won’t hurt.”
“Okay.” Lando twisted his fingers through Carlos hair again and leaned up to kiss him. Carlos met his halfway, kissing him as gently as before.
They stayed like that, Carlos kissing him until Lando relaxed into the bed beneath him. Then Carlos skimmed his hands over Lando stomach. The boy flinched at first then grew used to the feeling. Carlos hand was warm and were rubbing his stomach slowly.
When Carlos moved to his pants he broke the kiss. “Is this okay?”
Lando nodded, pleasure making him feel dizzy. He closed his eyes as Carlos unbuttoned his pants. Then lifted his hips so the man could pull them off.
Carlos ran his hands over his thighs then leaned down to kiss the inside of them. Lando gasped, head digging into the pillow beneath him. Then Carlos’ tongue swiped against his skin, causing him to moan, hips bucking in the air.
The man looked at him, hands on his boxers. Lando nodded in confirmation, nerves returning for a moment. Then Carlos kissed his hip, tugging his black boxers down. Lando’s nerves vanished as Carlos steady hands cupped his thigh.
The man pressed one last kiss to his thigh then pulled away, tugging his shirt over his head, followed by his pants. He then reached into the drawer next to the bed and pulled out a bottle of lube.
The sound of the bottle opening sent sparks down Lando’s stomach. This was really happening.
As Carlos came to sit between his thighs he looked at Lando. “At any point if you want to stop you tell me. I will not be mad.”
Lando nodded, “Okay.”
“Is there anything you want to tell me? Anything you don’t want me to do?”
“Don’t take my mask off.” His voice came out steady. Carlos nodded before a smirk rose to his face before he leaned down to whisper in his ear.
“I won’t need to querido, by the end of this night i’ll know every inch of you by memory.”
That caused Lando to groan, eyes fluttering closed. Carlos settled between his legs, and slid one finger around his hole. Lando squeezed his eyes shut, fearing pain, but as Carlos slid his finger in he felt nothing. He felt the man kiss his hip again before using his free hand to grab his member. He swallowed the length as he began to move his finger.
Lando moaned, not expecting the pleasure to shoot through his body. It felt as though a heat was curling in his stomach as Carlos slid another finger in.
It didn’t hurt which surprised Lando. He felt himself stretching open as Carlos added a third finger. He was babbling at Carlos, begging him for something. What, he didn’t know, he just didn’t want it to end.
Carlos kissed him and pulled his fingers out. Lando was shaking.
“Are you ready?” Carlos whispered.
“Please.” Lando pleaded.
That was all the confirmation Carlos needed. Lando shut he eyes and after a moment he felt Carlos press into him slowly. He gasped as he slipped past his rim, gripping the sheets tightly.
Carlos waited until Lando was begging him to move. When he did, Lando saw stars. He couldn’t even make a noise.
Carlos was moving quick, not quick enough to hurt him, but to make him gasp out in pleasure.
It was when Carlos grabbed his dick that he froze. “I’m going to come.”
“Go ahead baby, there’s nothing I’d like to see move.” Carlos panted in his ear.
Lando’s eyes rolled to the back of his head and he came. Carlos followed in suit, movements spasming then stopping. After a moment of silence the man slid out and collapsed next to him.
“Fuck. That was amazing.” He groaned pulling Lando to him. Lando felt blissed out. He laid his head on the man’s bicep and closed his eyes.
Carlos arm wrapped around his back, palm warm on his bare back. Carlos pulled him closer and Lando let himself drift off.
-
Carlos starred at the sidekick next to him who laid bare and asleep. He traced the edge of Lando’s orange mask.
“I want to, but I won’t.” He took a deep breath. “I wouldn’t, not to you.”
-
Lando woke up to silence. Lando never woke up to silence. The realization that an arm was wrapped around his stomach and his back was in someone’s chest made him remember the events of the night before.
Lando was warm and still tired. He pushed himself further into Carlos’ chest then closed his eyes.
The non existent feeling of the scratchy fabric he always had on his face was enough to make him shoot up. He elbowed Carlos in the face in the process which sent the man shooting up at well. Lando shielded himself from the man.
“What!” Carlos said, disoriented. “What happened.”
“Don’t look at me!” Lando said frantically, “Fuck. I lost my mask.”
He felt Carlos go still next to him. “Shit. I’ll cover my eyes.”
“I’ll tell you when I find it.”
“Ok.”
Lando waited a few seconds then turned to the man who hand his hands tight around his eyes. Lando began to search the room. It wasn’t on the floor. He turned to the bed.
He rummaged through the sheets, then finally found it behind the pillow he was sleeping on. He secured it to his face then turned to Carlos. Who still had his hands over his eyes.
“I found it. You can look.” Carlos removed his hand slowly then blinked a few times. Lando wrapped his arms around the man’s stomach.
“Thank you.”
Carlos returned the favor, hugging him back tightly. “You can leave or you can stay. I’m not stopping you. I just want to see you again.”
Lando hugged the man tighter before looking up. He kissed him slowly. “I promise I’ll come see you.”
Carlos smiled against his lips. “You better.”
-
Lando had to go home. Not with Daniel.
As soon as he got to the street in a pair of clothes Carlos had given him, he took his mask off and walked back to his shitty house.
His dad welcomed him with an uppercut in the face. His mom didn’t even acknowledge him.
Lando stumbled to his room, pulling out his dead phone. He plugged it in and waited for it to charge. Once it did he was flooded with messages from Daniel. The hero commission was convinced he was fine and didn’t send anyone to fine him. Daniel was freaking out and said he was giving him three days to answer before he’d come looking.
He responded back to him telling him his dad had seen him and dragged him back home. Daniels response was immediate and asking if he was okay.
He lied, saying he was okay. His face was throbbing.
He closed his eyes and tried to think he was anywhere else.
-
Lando woke up the next day to a hand yanking his hair in a tight grip.
“Get the fuck up. You’re going on a raid with me.”
He yelled out in pain, then his father let go.
“I’ll be in the car. You have five minutes.”
Lando got up and dressed quickly. black pants, black hoodie, black bandana.
It was six o’clock, he realized as he checked his phone. That meant the drug deal was going to take awhile.
Lando walked out of his house and got into his fathers car.
“The drive is two hours. We go in, get the drugs and get out. These are important people, powerful people. We don’t want to get on their bad sides.”
“What’s the company?” He asked, voice hoarse.
“Sainz’s cooperation.”
The drive was silent. Lando periodically looked at his father, who was practically shaking with nerves.
As they got closer, he got more tense.
“Don’t fuck this up.” Was the mans final words. Lando tied the bandana around the lower portion of his face and brought the hood of his hoodie over his head. Only his eyes were visible.
“Let’s go.” His father snapped, getting out of the car. Lando followed him silently, watching his father twiddle with his hands. That set Lando on edge, his father was never nervous.
The sun had set and left them in darkness. Lando scanned the sky, then smiled as he saw Venus.
“What the hell are you doing?” His father hissed, punching him in the arm. He tore with gaze away from the sky.
“Sorry.”
“Pay attention!”
The two approached a large building with guards on the outside. His father showed them a card he pulled out of his pocket and they were let in.
There was another round of guards that led them to a small room. As they walked through the door, there were two people.
Lando nearly screamed when he saw Carlos. The man’s face was set in a line, unmasked. The man next to him had a package in his hands. The drugs.
“You’re late.” Carlos spoke. Lando kept his eyes on the ground. This wouldn’t be good if Carlos recognized him.
“I am sorry sir.” His father spoke. “I beg you for forgiveness.”
“I don’t see you begging.”
Carlos looked at his father who dropped to his knees sending him a harsh look. Lando dropped beside him.
“Give my man the money.” The man with the drugs walked to his father. Lando watched as he handed him a package.
Carlos took the package from his hand and tore it open, counting the money.
“You’re short, fifty grand.”
Lando looked at his father, but felt Carlos’ gaze on him.
“Take him.” His father spoke, without a hint of regret. “He still young. Do whatever you want with him, just give me the drugs.”
Lando’s eyes widened. Fucking hell.
“You’re willing to sell your own blood to get high?” Carlos voice was filled with no emotion. Lando risked a look at him. Carlos eyes were already on him. Lando tried not to shy away from the gaze but failed. Carlos showed no sign of recognizing him.
“Yes.” His father replied.
“Leave.” Carlos demanded. “Get your drugs elsewhere.”
“Sir, my money—“
“It’s my money now.”
The room filled with silence then his father was grabbing his arm in a tight grip. “Let’s go.”
Lando tried to muffle his cry of pain but couldn’t. His fathers grip tightened and he followed helplessly.
It wasn’t until they were outside the building that his fathers fury was unleashed. He backhanded him, causing Lando’s jaw to snap to the side.
“This is your fault! It’s all your fucking fault!”
His father punched him again, sending him to the ground, his head smashed against the concrete below them. Lando didn’t recover fast enough before a kick was being sent to his stomach.
He cursed and tried to curl into a ball. His father kicked him again, knocking the wind out of him.
He choked on his gasp, muttering, “Stop.”
“I fucking told you to not mess this up!”
“Do we have a problem?” A voice interrupted, not just any voice, Carlos’ voice. Lando curled into a ball, tucking his head in his arms.
“No.” His father murmured, “We were just talking.”
Carlos hummed. “It doesn’t look like you were just talking.” His fathers hand wrapped around his arms and pulled him up. Lando hunched over coughing. Blood came up and stuck to his bandana, smearing on his face. His father straightened him up.
“We were leaving.”
“There’s been a change in the deal.” Lando felt the way his father froze. “Take the drugs. Give me him.”
Then he fathers hands were gone and he was stumbling forward. Carlos strong hands wrapped around his back and pulled him close.
His father grabbed the package and without another word, left.
Lando practically collapsed in Carlos’ hold. “Shhh. I got you.”
The man lifted him up and began to walk.
“It hurts, Carlos.” He groaned, every breath sent bolts of pain down his body.
“Just stay awake. You need to stay awake.”
His consciousness faded from him a few seconds later. The next time he came to was when he cried out in pain. Hands held him down and he thrashed unable to move.
He sobbed, “Stop! Please!”
“Shh. Cariño it’s okay.” Carlos whispered in his ear. Lando couldn’t see him from the tears in his eyes so he turned towards his voice. A warm hand gripped his own. Carlos. “It’s okay. Focus on me Lando. Focus on me cariño.”
Carlos’ free hand cupped his jaw and he felt a prick in his arm. That was the last thing he remembered.
-
When Lando opened he eyes he wanted to close them again. There was a warm weight around his stomach and a face buried in his neck.
The pain kept him awake. It was dull but present.
He shifted around, trying to get comfortable. He couldn’t. He knew his face was bare, he didn’t care anymore.
He turned slightly to see Carlos’ hair. It was tickling his neck.
He had to pee. He tried to shift out of Carlos’ hold but a whine of pain escaped his lips. That caused the man to stir.
Just as he was about to succeed in escaping, Carlos pulled him back in. “Where are you going, cariño?”
His voice was raspy from sleep and held a hint of relief.
“I have to pee.”
Carlos hummed, pressing a kiss to the back of his neck. “Let me help you walk to the bathroom, your ribs are broken.”
Of course they were.
Carlos sat up and rested a hand of Lando’s waist. He helped the boy out of bed and to the bathroom. Lando winced as he saw his face in the mirror.
“He really did a number on me, huh.”
Carlos hummed, caressing his cheek.
“I am sorry I had to take your bandana off.”
Lando shrugged. “I don’t care.”
Carlos tipped Lando’s head back and kissed him. It was soft and sincere. Lando kissed back with gratitude.
“Go, use the bathroom. I’ll wait by the door.”
With that Carlos was gone and Lando was left alone. He used the bathroom then stared at his reflection. He looked like a mess. Wild curls, bruises all over his body, bare face. Split lip.
He turned away and walked out the door. Carlos was waiting. He took his hand and led him back to the bed.
As Lando slotted himself between the man’s body he realized he rather be no where else.
The rest of the world could wait. Lando needed this.
A strong arm wrapped around his back and pulled him close. Lando tilted his head up, Carlos was already looking at him. The villains warm hand slotted itself between the pillow and his jaw.
“Go to sleep cariño, I’ll be here when you wake up.”
Lando eyes fluttered closed and he let himself drift off to the sound of Carlos’ heartbeat.
