Work Text:
“Tomorrow, we shall have written exams. Make sure to study everyone. Class dismissed.”
A yawn escaped Hiiro as he closed his text booklet and stretched out his arms. It was a long 2-hour physics class in which he does not particularly enjoy. Why does he have to study matters like this anyway when his job is to be an idol? The city sure is weird.
Before the vermillion-head could even stand, the “oh-so king” in front of him was scrambling to organize his things, seemingly in a rush.
“Tsukasa-kun, is there some business for you to attend that you have to rush yourself to?”
“Indeed. Knight’s schedule is somehow packed this week and I have to manage my time efficiently. If you’ll excuse me.” The red-head did not even bat an eye to his classmate, which may or may not have earned a pout from Hiiro.
Thinking about it, he is not particularly close with Tsukasa. Physics was the only class they were ever classmates, and being in different agencies, they barely interact. When they do, however, Hiiro cannot help but sense a bit of tension between them. I may be dumb, but I am not so dense. He cannot help but think that he did something to the other.
“Okay, pens up!” The azure-eyed idol blinked a few times, realizing he was deeply immersed in his text questionnaire. He barely managed to finish his exam, but ultimately, he was just glad it was over. He handed his test to his instructor and groggily came back to his seat when his attention was caught by the Knights leader in front of him.
There greeted him, a slumped Tsukasa who looked like he was allergic to sleep from the dark circles he was carrying.
“Would you refrain from staring at me? It is practically rude to do so and it makes one more irritated than he already is.” The leader said with a sigh, amethyst eyes not daring to meet his azure ones.
Hiiro did not even realize he was staring. He did know it was considered rude in the city, so he quickly apologized.
“Oh, forgive me for my rudeness. It’s just that I noticed how tired you look but I did not know the city’s custom in approaching this situation so I was thinking.”
“You don’t really need to think. I just needed a breath from that exam earlier. Now if you’ll excuse me.” Hiiro wasn’t able to protest as Tsukasa hurriedly exited the room.
To say that Hiiro wanted to befriend Tsukasa was an understatement. He wants to know more about the Knights leader. Ever since attending Yumenosaki, no one has caught his eyes more than Tsukasa has.
He’s hard working, excellent with his studies, and an exemplary leader on top of that. He also does everything with grace and dedication. It’s almost impossible not to be drawn to him. He silently thought to himself.
“Hiiro-kun~ ☆ It’s rude to stare you know~!” An energetic Sora spawn beside Hiiro, snapping him from his thoughts.
“Tsuka-chan has a lot on his plate you know~ It may not seem like it but he’s carrying a lot.” The yellow-head continued before Hiiro could even say anything.
“No one can really stop him when he’s in the zone, even Sora has failed to do so!” There again, Hiiro was left to ponder his own thoughts about the current King.
It was another day of dealing with classes and idol works. Physics class wasn’t scheduled during Wednesdays so Hiiro did not see Tsukasa for a day. He was still sick worried because the latter did not look good the last time he saw him, but he knew better than to pry into someone’s business in the city.
Speaking of the devil, he once again saw the Knights leader on his way out of his last subject, but just like any other day, he was rushing out before Hiiro could even approach him.
It could wait tomorrow.
Hiiro stretched up as his classmates exited the room one by one. It was a Friday afternoon, and he was looking forward to spending time with Aira as he promised the blond that he’d take him to the mall. He sort of pissed off Aira the other day by eating his cupcakes, and this was the only way he thought he could mend his relationship with the latter.
The worry ate Hiiro from the inside however, as Tsukasa was absent during their Physics class. According to the instructor, the red-head was sick so attending classes was out of the question.
Their test results were handed to them however, and he thinks he did better than expected. A one-point mistake in Physics is a miracle at this point.
“Amagi-kun, would you mind handing this out to Suou-kun?” The instructor approached Hiiro from behind, which startled the student. He definitely is becoming jumpy nowadays.
“Sure, I don’t mind at all!” Hiiro took the test and slid it on his bag. The fact that this may or may not be an excuse to see Tsukasa, Hiiro paid no mind.
“Oh no worries, Aira! I actually have an errand to run too so it’s not a big deal. Yeah, Sunday sounds right. See you later!”
Hiiro received a call from Aira on his way to the dorms, cancelling their supposed member date. Aira was called for an emergency, which the leader just assumes are class matters. It was perfect timing as going to the dorms would take time, and he wouldn’t really want to piss off Aira even more by making the latter wait.
“Ah! Hiiro-kun! What brings you here?” Shinobu greeted Hiiro along the 3rd Floor hallway as the latter finished his call with his member.
“Good day, Shinobu-kun! I was tasked by our instructor in bringing the test results to Tsukasa-kun. Is he perhaps home by any chance?”
“Yes! Although he isn’t looking very well. I’m actually on my way to contacting Producer-san for assistance. Would you mind being in his company for a while? I got called by Morisawa-dono just now too!”
Before he could even answer, the supposed ninja has dashed away, not allowing any protest from Hiiro, if there’s any. He silently proceeded to the last room on the third floor.
Kanzaki, Sengoku, Suou. Hiiro muttered as he read the name plates by the door. As he was about to knock–
“Don’t you dare tell anyone, Shinobu-kun! Also, you think you can get me some pain rel-Uwaa!” A startled scream greeted Hiiro, which he thought was nice for someone sick.
“What brings you here, Hiiro-kun?” Tsukasa asks as he grabs something from beside the door. Hiiro was then taken aback when the former hands him out a face mask.
Understanding what Tsukasa was implying, he quickly wore the mask provided while the latter also wore his. “The instructor asked me to bring the Physics test results to you since you were absent. Are you okay though? I heard you were sick but you look worse.”
“Thanks for pointing out the obvious. Uwa! Five-point mistake!? What did I expect, I barely reviewed for that test.” Tsukasa spat out as he viewed the paper handed to him.
“How about you? How did you do?”
“Well, the test sure was hard so it’s probably a fluke. I got a one-point mistake.”
Hiiro shifted uncomfortably as Tsukasa stared at him for more than 5 seconds. He felt his cheeks warm up so he immediately looked to the side to break off the eye contact.
“May I see your paper?” He silently handed his paper to the other, and together, they looked at the test results side by side.
“It seems like you got the formula wrong for equation 2.” The ALKALOID leader commented as he looked at Tsukasa’s face for any sign of irritation.
The red-head sounds worse than he already looks. It was obvious that his cold was affecting his voice. Not to mention, the bags were much darker than the other day. Hiiro can’t help but feel bad for the other.
“Yeah, I can’t really get that formula right. Manipulating the formula to fit the given isn’t the easiest either.” Tsukasa answered as he examined each question one by one.
Hiiro was surprised that Tsukasa didn’t snap at his comment. Tsukasa, by any means, are not mean nor bossy, at least to Hiiro. Despite feeling like there’s this tension going on between them, especially on Tsukasa’s side, he never actually thought that the other has any ill-feelings towards him. Hiiro is sure that Tsukasa has his reasons for acting in such way. On the contrary, the former actually finds it interesting.
“I can help you with that…If only you want me to, or if you even need one.” Hiiro nervously rubbed his napped, not knowing what had gotten into him to even suggest such a thing.
“You’d do that?”
All he could was nod at how the others looked at him. Tsukasa was trying so hard not to give him puppy eyes that he ended up blushing.
“Of course! Just not today. I don’t thin-” Before Hiiro could even say anything, he was pulled inside the other’s room with no protest.
As he observed the room, he noted that it isn’t really any different from theirs. Just the bed sheets and decorations differ, but not a lot.
“Make yourself at home, I’ll just get you something to drink.”
Not more than 5 minutes later, Tsukasa joined Hiiro as they sat on the floor by the center table. Hiiro had already taken out all the materials they needed for the study so everything was pretty much a-okay.
“Are you sure you are in any state to study right now? I am available right now and any other day but we can definitely do this some other time.” Hiiro reassured the other as he does not want to push Tsukasa any further when he is in no condition to even open a book.
“I am fine. You talk and I shall listen.” Tsukasa settled as Hiiro started talking about concepts.
It has been a good hour since they started, and Tsukasa has been taking the solution greater than he expected for someone sick. Hiiro thought the other is a fast-learner, and is also easy to teach as he asks when something does not make sense.
Occasionally , the blue-eyed student has been stealing glances from his side to make sure the other is still doing fine and not dying beside him.
“So for this last item, it’s almost the same as the other. But this time, you’ll have to find the velocity instead of the time, so you’ll ha-” Hiiro was cut midway his ramblings when he felt a weight lean on his shoulder.
He then froze as he is not used to any sudden contact with people. He cleared his throat and softly called to the other to test his suspicions.
When he was met with a silence, he knew his initial thought was correct. Hiiro slowly, but surely, tilted his head to have a view of the figure beside him, who now had his head on his shoulder, with his mask falling off.
Hiiro was met by a sleeping Tsukasa, which made fireworks set off in the pit of the former’s stomach. He felt like his world was spinning, and thank the Gods in heaven that he had the sofa on his back because he would’ve fell back seconds ago if it wasn’t. EH?! Tsukasa-kun!? Is this normal in the city?! Is this even appropriate for idols!?
His inner turmoil then subsided when he had taken a good look at the sleeping figure beside him. This was a once in a lifetime chance of observing a sleeping Tsukasa Suou, the leader of Knights. He did not mean it in a weird way! And if he sounded like a fan, that was not intended.
Hiiro forgot the page he was holding when he noticed how long Tsukasa eyelashes are that it created shadows on his milky white cheeks. It seemed so soft to the touch that he fought off the urge to lift his hands and let it slide on his snow-like skin. The other’s nose was so small in close-up that the thought of Hiiro booping it made somersaults inside of him. He thought it was cute, but he would never say that out loud. And oh, for someone who’s sick, his lips looked small but plump and barely chapped, he thought it made him look more beautiful than he is.
The silky and smooth red hair which framed his beautiful face perfectly even captivated Hiiro. With a gentle finger, he carefully fixed a stray bang behind Tsukasa’s right ear, for him to easily marvel at how the other looked pristine, awake or asleep.
Right here and right now, Hiiro was introduced to hundreds of emotions that he cannot name nor pinpoint what is, causing his cheeks to warm up than he already is. He’s sure that he’d look like his hair by now if anyone is to see him blushing like a mad man.
Hiiro does not have the heart to wake the other up, or even make any movements, as Tsukasa looked like this is the most peaceful sleep he could get, and the former does not dare wake him up. So he settles in blushing like a ten-year old would do, and leans his head back on top of Tsukasa’s. If he gets sick on the next day, he doesn’t mind doing so.
However, the peaceful silence Hiiro had was disrupted when he heard voices followed by the door opening.
“Oh, I appreciate you contacting me, Shinobu-kun. Tsukasa-chan can be a bit hard-headed when it- Ara! What do we have here~♪”
