Work Text:
Gwen Stacy sighed under her mask. This was like the FIFTH TIME she’d found her walking home through the shittiest, most dangerous route she was sure she could find.
Her bandmate, her best friend, her ever-so-troublesome Mary Jane Watson.
The redhead had made a big deal about storming off in a huff after practice. And like what was she even mad about, honestly? Gwen had actually been there on time and had been focused, and she was the ONLY ONE who was ever late! Or at least that’s how Em Jay made it seem. Okay, maybe it was true. But chewing her out for always being late the one time she was early wasn’t exactly gonna encourage punctuality, and questioning whether Gwen wanted to be in the band didn’t exactly improve Gwen’s attitude towards her either.
Still, she was taking the scenic route home, if the scenic route was as many dark, dingey alleys as she could find, and Gwen couldn’t let her do that without providing a silent escort.
What the fuck is she doing?
Em Jay honestly looked like she was peering down alleys, seeing if they were scary enough, and then cutting through them. Gwen kept silent as she followed, but she was seething.
Then, the worst happened.
“Hey, girly!” came a sleezy voice from the shadows. A handful of assholes peeled themselves off the nasty alley wall. “What’s a pretty thing like you doing all alone?” What is this, the 90s?
“Walking,” Em Jay said, voice tough and curt. “Fuck off.” Do you HAVE to be a New Yorker right now?
“Fuckin’ excuse me?!” the dude said. “Don’t you take that tone with me, bitch!”
“I’ll take whatever tone I wanna take, limpdick!” Em Jay shot back as the blood rushed from Gwen’s face.
“You picked the wrong fuckin’ alley, girly,” he said, catching up to her. "Gonna teach you some manners!" He grabbed her. Or, at least, he tried to.
Spider-Woman was in the mix, out of nowhere as far as anyone here would be able to tell.
“Whoa, whoa, whoa!” she said, catching the guy’s wrist. “She’s got a mouth on her, sure, but that’s no reason to get-” there was a solid crack as a fist conncted with her face, and the dude cried out in pain, “… handsy.”
Seeing their… friend? Pal? Coworker? Well, seeing him in pain from her not rolling with a punch wasn’t enough for the other two, apparently, and they jumped her. She dodged lithely out of the way, not keen on getting hit again. It didn’t, like, hurt hurt (enhanced senses meant she still felt a little sting), but they still might leave a bruise or two she wouldn’t care to deal with later. Y’know, if they swung hard enough. Or hit her with a pipe.
She ducked as she had that thought, one of them actually having had a pipe on hand. Where did they always get junk like this? Well, the introduction of makeshift weapons meant playtime was officially over.
*Crack!* *Thwap!* *Thud!* *Clang!*
She laid all three out in short order, even chucking one into a nearby dumpster for good measure. Spider-Woman dusted off her hands, admiring her handiwork for a moment, before a voice behind her reminded her why she was even here.
“Wow!” said Em Jay. “That was fucking awesome!” Spider-Woman turned to look at her, and made a conscious effort to disguise her voice a little.
“Glad you thought so,” she said, aiming behind her and shooting a strand of web. “Do me a favor and maybe quit cutting through alleys?” She started to vault away when she heard Em Jay’s voice again.
“Wait!” she called out. “Spider-Woman, wait!” She sighed, swinging back around, and catching herself on a nearby wall. “Could… could I talk to you for a sec?” Spider-Woman nodded, and Gwen wondered how she was going to tell Em Jay that there was just no way she could make an appearance at their next gig or whatever it was she was about to ask.
“What’s up?” she asked.
“It’s just, uh,” said Em Jay, surprisingly shy all of a sudden, “I’m a really big fan.”
“Always nice to be appreciated,” said Spider-Woman. Em Jay looked up at her, and Gwen swore her cheeks looked a little red. Hadda be blood pumping from the danger, right?
“Well, I um, I sort of more than appreciate you,” said Em Jay. “And I was kinda hoping… that I could maybe give you something?” Gwen suddenly wasn’t sure that Em Jay had concert tickets in her pockets, or on her mind. She seemed downright distracted. “Could you maybe come back down here for a sec?”
Curiosity won out, and Spider-Woman lowered herself on a webline, keeping hold of it for a speedy exit, her hood dangling towards the ground. Em Jay looked practically giddy.
“So,” she said, “thing is, I uh… I have… well I’ve actually had kind of a crush on you for a while now.” Gwen froze and her eyes widened. Wait, what? On me?
Em Jay had talked about crushes before, and had never been shy about things she wanted to do with/to whatever her flavor of the week/month was. She’d fielded enough compliments/complaints about her exes to have some very clear mental images, too.
The thought that Em Jay could be having those thoughts about her made her heart beat faster than it had during that little scrap just now.
“A crush, huh?” asked Spider-Woman, trying to project more… confidence, maybe? Certainty. Yeah. More certainty than she felt. Tried to sound casual.
“Yeah,” said Em Jay, biting her lip and looking Spider-Woman up and down. Gwen would be lying if she told anyone that she didn’t like how that made her feel. Only real snag was that it was aimed at Spider-Woman, not Gwen.
She wouldn’t deny an attraction to Mary Jane. Hell, her recent excursions through the multiverse had shown her she wasn’t the only Spider-Person that wanted her. God, what was it about this redhead that drove them all nuts?
As she looked at Em Jay looking at her, though, she thought maybe she had an inkling. She could definitely make someone feel wanted when she wanted to.
“Well,” said Spider-Woman, “that’s, uh, super flattering actually. Coming from a pretty gal like you, and all.” Smooooooth, Gwendolyn. ‘Gal’? Come ON dude!
“You think I’m pretty?” asked Em Jay. Okay, so ‘gal’ kinda worked.
“I’ve got eyes, yeah,” answered Spider-Woman. Okay, reign it in. We do NOT need to get tangled up in- Em Jay stepped closer.
“I was kind of really hoping I could thank you,” said Em Jay, so close now that Gwen could smell that perfume she liked more than she could smell the trash in the alley.
“Thank me how?” asked Gwen. There's no way this is happening. Em Jay reached up and touched her mask, and Spider-Woman flinched, gently grabbing her wrist. “I kinda need that to stay on.”
“Don’t worry,” said Em Jay, looking at her with hooded eyes, “I only need your mouth.” Oh fuck, no wonder so many Spider-People were into this chick! Gwen swallowed and let go as Em Jay pulled her mask down to just above her nose, and then leaned in.
Their lips met, and sparks flew. Em Jay tasted so good! Better than she’d imagined, even. Em Jay moaned, and slipped her some tongue, and Gwen felt a jolt of electricity racing through her body. It was like all her senses were on fire!
She was really getting into it when Em Jay suddenly yanked her mask the rest of the way down.
Gwen’s eyes shot open, looking down/up at Em Jay, who was looking down at her, wide-eyed.
“I FUCKING KNEW IT!” Em Jay screamed.
“WHAT THE FUCK!?” Gwen screamed back. Quick glance, guys still out, no time to think. Gwen grabbed Em Jay and zipped them up and away, seeking a higher building to either talk or straight up drop this girl off of GOD she was mad!
“I knew it!” Em Jay repeated the moment they landed. “I knew it, I knew it, I knew it!”
“Em Jay what the fuck!?” cried Gwen, stomping away and then back again.
“You’re Spider-Woman!” said Em Jay, pointing with Gwen’s mask in hand like she’d won something. Gwen snatched the white cloth back from her.
“Yeah no shit!” said Gwen, angrily. ”What the fuck, dude!?”
“When the fuck were you gonna tell me?” asked Em Jay.
“Never probably!” answered Gwen.
“Oh fuck you!” said Em Jay. “We’re supposed to be best friends and you can’t tell me you’re a superhero?”
“Um, no,” said Gwen. Then she finally keyed into it: Em Jay was angry. “Wait, hold up, you’re mad at me? You pulled my fucking mask off, dude! Superhero rule number one! DON’T DO THAT!”
“YOU SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME!” Em Jay yelled.
“WHY WOULD I!?” Gwen demanded, and they both glared at each other, breathing hard. Gwen was angry. Hurt. Her thoughts racing around in her head at top speed. Em Jay looked just as mad. Gwen also thought she saw something else there, but was a little too frazzled to figure it out.
Suddenly, Em Jay lunged at her, no tingle to warn her. A different tingle started as Em Jay’s lips crashed into Gwen’s, the fiery redhead now aggressively making out with her.
Gwen instinctively pulled Em Jay closer, wrapping her arms around her as Em Jay curled her fingers into Gwen’s hair. Their tongues wrestled for dominance for way longer than Gwen understood once she finally realized what she was doing. Her eyes snapped open and she pushed Em Jay away.
“What are you-” she started, but Em Jay was on her again, and this time had Gwen up against the wall of the roof access. Before she knew it, Gwen had a leg between Em Jay’s, and then snapped back to reality as Em Jay’s fingers squeezed around her ass. She tried pushing her away again, but Em Jay had adjusted her grip, was tangled up with her pretty good.
Gwen took them to the floor, on top of Em Jay now, and to her own surprise started making out with her again. She tasted good, she felt good, she moaned good, but this was bad. This was confusing.
“Okay what the fuck is going on?” Gwen panted, finally pulling away from Em Jay’s mouth, trying not to lick the cherry-flavored chapstick off her lips. In this position she was able to hold Em Jay at bay, which was good because the redhead had immediately tried to shut down conversation by going for another kiss. But Gwen’s face was just out of reach.
Em Jay just glared at her, looking her dead in the eye. Gwen put her brain to work, scouring everything from the past few minutes. Then it clicked.
“Wait,” said Gwen. “You said you knew I was Spider-Woman. How long?” Em Jay’s cheeks were flushed with anger, but maybe something else.
“A while,” she said. “I put the pieces together a while ago. When you threw that dude through a window.”
“You didn’t tell anyone?” said Gwen.
“No!” said Em Jay, insulted. “Like, maybe I said something to Glory and Betty but they thought I was crazy. Not so crazy now, huh?”
“You absolutely are crazy!” Gwen shot back. Something else had clicked into place. “You’ve been doing it on purpose haven’t you? Going through alleys and shit?”
“Yeah, and?” asked Em Jay. “It worked didn’t it? You came to my rescue. And now I proved you’re Spider-Woman.” Gwen growled. Of all the irresponsible, selfish, CRAZY-
Wait… wait this was her plan? To get in a situation where I’d rescue her, and then… Oh.
Gwen’s eyes widened in realization.
“You said you had a crush on me,” said Gwen. “How long?”
“I said I had a crush on Spider-Woman,” she said defensively.
“Yeah,” said Gwen, “and you said you knew I was Spider-Woman.” She leaned in close, just out of reach of Em Jay’s distracting lips. “How long?” Em Jay’s face was redder than ever, her fiery temper now mixed with something Gwen was more and more sure was embarrasment. For someone so direct, Em Jay really hated being called out. “How long, Em Jay?”
“Since eighth grade,” she said, quietly. Well before Spider-Woman existed. She still looked mad, but now she looked like she was going to cry.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” asked Gwen, softly. She knew why. She needed to hear her say it, though.
“I didn’t want to fuck us up,” said Em Jay. “I wanted to start a band with you, I wanted to be famous with you, I didn’t want to chase you off if you didn’t…” There were tears welling up in her eyes now.
“God you’re a hot mess,” said Gwen, and she leaned in to kiss her, releasing her hold on her. The moment Em Jay’s arms were free, she had them around Gwen. Em Jay moaned into her mouth, her hands on Gwen’s ass and head again, her fingers once again curling into her blonde hair.
They locked lips for a while, the whole thing intense enough that Gwen was only barely aware of the distant sound of thunder. She finally pulled away, and Em Jay looked soft for a change.
“Are you mad at me?” Em Jay asked.
“Furious,” answered Gwen. “You could have talked to me like a normal person.”
“I tried,” said Em Jay. “You kept blowing me off.”
“Sorry,” said Gwen. “You get it, don’t you? That I can’t, like, let people know?”
“I don’t,” said Em Jay.
“The more people who know, the better chance of someone who wants me dead finds out,” said Gwen. “I’ve already got problems with that.”
“But you still could have told me ,” said Em Jay. Gwen shook her head.
“I couldn’t,” she said. “I was… afraid. Afraid you might try and spin it into something for the band.” Em Jay looked genuinely hurt.
“I’d never do that if you asked me not to,” she said. “Am I really that bad?”
“No,” said Gwen. “Sorry. I… you have no idea how crazy anxious being a Spider-Person makes you.”
“Spider- Person? ” she asked.
“It’s a whole thing,” said Gwen. “I’ll tell you later. I-” There was a crack of thunder, and a roar of rain as the clouds seemed to feel it was time to blow their load. Gwen instinctively covered Em Jay, but they were both drenched in no time. “Let’s get you home.”
“Sounds good,” said Em Jay. “I don’t have a roommate.” Gwen nodded. She put on her mask, grabbed Em Jay and held her close. Em Jay wrapped her arms tight around Gwen, and Gwen felt a spark again. She jumped off the building and started swinging them away.
They made it to Em Jay’s place, now both completely soaked. Quick check revealed no lookie-loos (pouring rain often kept people from looking up), and they slipped in through Em Jay’s window. The redhead wasted no time stripping out of her wet clothes, and Gwen just stood there staring, slack-jaw hidden by her mask.
“I’d ask if you wanted to shower together,” said Em Jay, “but I think we already did that.” She dropped her pants and panties around her ankles. The sight of her, naked and glistening, was mouth-watering. “Wanna skip straight to bed?”
This is moving too fast! She took off her mask and started pulling off her costume. This is moving way too fast! She rushed over and kissed Em Jay. What are we doing right now? She scooped Em Jay up and carried her to the bed.
Okay! We’re doing that then!
She pinned Em Jay on the mattress, and the girl didn’t seem to mind one bit. Another round of aggressive tongue-wrestling and lip-locking later, and Gwen straddled her, pulling back to take a good look.
Em Jay was gorgeous, no matter how much she might piss Gwen off sometimes. That red hair, those bright green eyes, that freckled skin, those perky boobs… Gwen bit her lip, and reached down to grab a handful of Em Jay’s chest. She squirmed at Gwen’s touch. Gwen looked back over her shoulder, getting a load of Em Jay’s pretty pink pussy. She licked her lips, still with trace of Em Jay’s chapstick on them.
Gwen looked back down at Em Jay, who was looking up at her with a hungry, impatient expression on her face. Well, Gwen couldn’t blame her this time. Not since she was what Em Jay was impatient for.
Gwen turned around quick as a flash, presenting her ass to Em Jay’s face.
“Wanna taste?” she asked, giving it a little shake.
“Uh-huh,” said Em Jay, reaching up and grabbing Gwen’s ass, spreading her cheeks. She licked her lips, looking super thirsty. “Mmmm, superhero pussy!” People threw around a lot of shit about other people acting thirsty, but it was awesome when someone you were into was acting thirsty for you.
Em Jay dove right in, and Gwen gasped the moment she felt Em Jay’s tongue slip into her folds. Jesus it was awesome having super senses! Every good thing felt so much better! She’d first noticed it the first time she’d touched herself after getting her powers, but actually having someone doing stuff to her was driving her wild right away.
Gwen lowered herself down, and Em Jay had already spread her legs for her. Gwen decided there was no point in going slow, and matched Em Jay’s energy, diving straight into it.
Em Jay tasted fucking fantastic down here, too, which was no surprise to Gwen. Yeah, she had a temper, and a helluvan ego, but of course she’d taste good. She was good down in her core, this was just the quickest way to it. Should have taken this route a long time ago.
Gwen dug into each and every corner of Em Jay’s pussy, keeping track of every spot that made her buck and writhe. She flicked her tongue across Em Jay’s clit, earning a gasp and a moan into her own pussy, which Em Jay was digging into just as thoroughly. Gwen kept herself mindful, which was hard when Em Jay hit her sweet spot, but she had to make sure she didn’t accidentally crush her head or anything.
“You tashte sho good!” Em Jay somehow managed through her aggressive pussy-eating. Gwen responded by spelling out her and Mary Jane’s full names with her tongue, all 34 letters of ‘em. Enhanced stamina meant she could keep that up a good long time, at least until- “MMMMFFFF!”
Em Jay burried her face in Gwen’s pussy to muffle her scream. Somehow, Gwen was surprised Em Jay was a screamer. She figured she’d be too worried about her voice to go that hard when cumming. Maybe she really could turn it off sometimes, who knew?
Gwen let up and showed her a modicum of mercy, which Em Jay repaid by working Gwen even more attentively, squeezing Gwen’s ass and really burying her face in it all. Gwen gasped when Em Jay suddenly licked her asshole, making her clench, and then she went straight back for Glen’s slit.
Squeezes, licks, gasps, and moans were Gwen’s whole world for a while longer, until finally she came all over Em Jay’s pretty face.
“Fuck!” she cried, her legs shaking as Em Jay held on tight. The redhead kept going, and suddenly Gwen’s amazingly orgasmic super senses were working against her. She was hyper-sensitive now, and needed to escape Em Jay’s grasp.
She got herself free, turning around and locking lips with Em Jay again, pinning her hands to the bed the moment she felt them reaching down below her waist. Their tastes mingled so good, Em Jay tasting like Gwen, Gwen tasting like Em Jay, and it was hard to catch where one started and the other began. Or stopped and started. Gwen was frazzled, she couldn’t remember the phrasing.
“More,” Em Jay breathed when Gwen finally broke away.
“More?” asked Gwen. Em Jay nodded.
“More,” she repeated.
“Greedy bitch, huh?” asked Gwen. Em Jay smirked.
“I’m a fuckin’ rockstar, dude,” said Em Jay. “I want everything I can get. And I want you, like crazy. All. The. Time.” She looked deep in Gwen’s eyes as she said that. She wasn’t playing around. Terrifying, honestly.
But Gwen punched monsters and robots, and faced psycopaths at least once a weak. She could handle this crazy ginger. Probably.
“So you want more, huh?” asked Gwen. “Oh, I’ll give you more. I’ll give you so much more you might not be walking tomorrow.”
“Put your money where that sexy mouth is then,” said Em Jay. Gwen moved fast, grabbing Em Jay’s leg and getting it up on her shoulder, settling herself nice and snug between where those lovely legs met. She looked at Em Jay, who looked very excited by what was about to happen.
Enthusiasm, it turned out, was probably Gwen’s biggest turn-on.
She started grinding on Em Jay, hard and fast, rubbing their junk together with the same gusto Em Jay had eaten her out with. It was Gwen’s turn to get aggressive, to rock Em Jay’s world.
She fucked her like there was no tomorrow, cause sometimes there wasn’t, and like she wanted to go out with a bang. She kissed Em Jay’s leg, reached down and played with her tits, squeezing her boobs, pinching her nipples, vowing to get a better taste of them later. She was gonna take Em Jay every which way imagineable, get a taste of all of her, memorize every inch of her body, catalogue every moan, groan, sigh, wriggle, and buck.
She didn’t want to reward Em Jay’s bad behavior, didn’t wanna reward the stunt she’d pulled tonight, but it was way too late for that. Em Jay had been too hot and come on too strong to try and resist, so instead Gwen was gonna make sure Em Jay knew that pursuing her was the best decision she’d ever made.
They’d sort out what behavior she was and wasn’t reinforcing later.
“Oh fuck GWEN!” Em Jay screamed. “Oh fuck! Oh Fuck! OH FUCK!”
“That’s it!” growled Gwen. “Scream for me! Scream my name, bitch!”
“GWEN I LOVE YOU!” screamed Em Jay. “I FUCKING LOVE YOU! DON’T EVER STOP!” Oh FUCK that was too much! Gwen kicked it into high gear, trying to keep going, but Em Jay’s words were ringing (literally) in her ears, and that confession was too much for her to bear.
“I fucking love you too!” she cried, cumming. Em Jay’s leg was quaking, and Gwen was thrilled to know she’d cum too. She rode out the waves, grinding it out on Em Jay’s pussy before finally releasing her, and crashing down on top of her. Em Jay caught her by the mouth, and the resulting kiss shifted from fierce and wild to slow-burning passion.
As they came down, Em Jay got cuddlier, which was actually really really nice. Gwen got to enjoy the softness now, the slow caress of her hands, the feel of her curves. Em Jay pulled away from the kiss and buried her face in Gwen’s neck.
“Stupid,” she whispered.
“What?” asked Gwen.
“I… well… I mean did you mean it?” asked Em Jay. Gwen tried to look at her, but Em Jay clung to her, hiding away in Gwen’s shoulder. Afraid. Afraid of what Gwen might say next.
Gwen didn’t like her Mary Jane being afraid.
“Yeah I meant it,” said Gwen, holding her close, holding her tight. A small gasp, a sob actually, escaped Em Jay’s lips. She squeezed Gwen, and then finally looked at her.
Mary Jane Watson. All fire and spunk and attitude. Vulnerable, for once. And Gwen thought wall-crawling was crazy.
“I meant it too,” said Em Jay. “I know… I know I can be an asshole sometimes. I know that, but… I… I’m sorry I made you think you couldn’t tell me the truth.” Gwen smiled at her softly, brushed her cheek with her thumb. Em Jay trembled a little at the touch, and leaned into it like she was craving it.
“You can definitely be an asshole,” said Gwen. “But this time, I guess, I’m also sorry. Sorry I didn’t give you another way to have this… conversation?”
“Was this a conversation?” asked Em Jay. “I thought this was fucking.”
“Em Jay…”
“Felt an awful lot like fucking.”
“Em Jay,” sighed Gwen. “Real talk. It might be tough being together, you know? Like, being Spider-Woman’s girlfriend is gonna be weird.”
“Who said I wanna be your girlfriend?” asked Em Jay, voice a little haughty. Gwen smirked. Girl couldn’t help herself, had to be catty.
“Wife then,” said Gwen, and Em Jay shrank back a litte, shocked.
“I-I was joking,” she said, “too fast, too soon, I-” Gwen kissed her.
“I know,” said Gwen, “I just know I gotta throw your energy back at you sometimes. But serious. Real. Talk. Do you wanna be together?” Em Jay looked at her long and hard.
“Maybe,” said Em Jay. Then she looked down. “Sorry. I don’t mean to be all over the place. Just… a lot of feelings. Y’know? And like… now I’m realizing I just fucked my bandmate, and like what’s that gonna mean going forward, and like did I fuck us up or-” Gwen caught her with another kiss.
“Can you chill for like five seconds?” asked Gwen. “Breathe, beautiful.” Em Jay smiled and wiggled a little.
“Okay, well I do like you calling me beautiful,” she said. “You promise I didn’t fuck us up?”
“I promise,” said Gwen, “but you almost did. I don’t wanna lie to you, okay? Not anymore.”
They held each other close, silent for a long time after, and Gwen knew they both had a lot to think about. But Em Jay kept nuzzling her, kept herself cuddled up close, and that felt especially good on a cold night like tonight.
Em Jay drifted off to sleep, and Gwen held her. They could sort stuff out tomorrow. Maybe it would all be fine. She hoped it would.

Glory and Betty had arrived at band practice, and Glory was currently checking her phone. Gwen wasn’t here yet, which was no surprise. But Glory and Betty were only a few minutes early, and there was no sign of Em Jay either. That was a surprise.
“Where the hell is she?” asked Glory
“I dunno,” said Betty. “Surprised Gwen isn’t here, though. She left early cause she said she wanted to help Em Jay set up.”
“She did?” asked Glory. “That’s a first. Wonder if Em Jay threatened to kick her out again. I mean she won’t, but I dunno if Gwen knows that.”
Gradually, they became aware of a sound, muffled whatever it was. Betty and Glory looked at each other, neither knowing what they were hearing. Betty realized it was coming from a closet, and motioned Glory to follow her.
They got closer, and realized how familiar the sounds were.
No way. They absolutely are not. Glory reached for the handle, and threw the door open.
There, in the janitor’s closet, with their hands up each other’s shirts and down each other’s pants, were Em Jay and Gwen. The two girls on the floor stared at the two girls standing up, no one saying a thing, with a strand of spit connecting the blonde and the redhead rapidly thinning out. It broke, and so did the silence.
“It’s not what it looks like,” said Gwen. “I can explain.”
“Uh-huh,” said Glory, raising an eyebrow. “And what does it look like?”
“It looks like I’m hooking up with Em Jay to stay in the band,” said Gwen. Glory raised her other eyebrow. Okay, it did look like that.
“And what is it really?” asked Glory.
“I’m hooking up with her because I like her and really want to,” said Gwen, “and because she said yes to being girlfriends.” Glory and Betty both blinked.
“Also she was on time today,” said Em Jay. “So… point in her favor?” Glory just clicked her tongue.
“I… look, whatever,” she said. “Can we get started? We’ll talk after.”
They actually had a pretty good practice, a proper jam session almost. Em Jay seemed happier, Gwen was definitely happier. Glory and Betty were fine with it all.
If this is what it took to get Gwen to show up on time, they’d take it.
