Chapter Text
The mission was not going well. Team 7,10 and Team Guy were on a mission to stop a large group of slave traders, some of whom were shinobi.
It started off great but now Sakura was hanging off a cliff with a little girl in her arms.
She tried to get up but the bandit above stabbed her hand with a kunai. They fell a bit but Sakura was able to catch on to the rope hanging from the wall.
The little girl was screaming and crying incredibly loudly. Sasuke and Naruto were above them and the others below. She knew she was probably going to get hurt at the very least.
It took a few seconds but then the rope snapped and they fell. She screamed as loud as she possibly could.
The others below immediately looked towards the noise and stood in complete shock. Ino was crying, Kakashi was shaking slightly and Lee looked scared.
She was crying and she hugged the girl close enough that she might survive even if Sakura herself doesn’t. What she didn’t realize was that she wasn’t crying normal tears but the tears were black and she started bleeding the same liquid from her mouth and nose.
As the goo bled out from her Sakuras screaming turned into a demonic screech.
They were nearly on the ground but just as they were about to be crushed by the force of their fall something caught them.
The others looked on in horror as black liquid started flowing from Sakura. The liquid seemed to be coming together and shaping something. They saw a huge shadow version of Sakura being shaped and right when they were supposed to hit the ground the creature caught them.
Sakura was completely unconscious. The little girl had hugged her as tightly as possible and she was not letting go. The creature screeched loudly and gently put Sakura and the girl on the ground and began attacking the slavers.
Sakura hadn’t gotten her consciousness back and the poor little girl was crying and screaming for Sakura to wake up. She was desperately trying to wake Sakura. She clung tightly to Sakura and wouldn’t let go even when Kakashi tried to get her back.

A few days passed and Sakura still hadn’t woken up yet and the little girl whose name was Himei hadn’t left her side for a single moment.
Himei wouldn’t stop crying and she needed to be fed by others to get any nutrients. She was breaking slowly and she was only five.

When Sakura finally woke up Himei threw herself at her. She hugged her and cried and Sakura just hugged her back.

When Sakura got out they had a slight problem Himei didn’t have a home since she was kidnapped and her parents were murdered and Sakura lived alone in an apartment barely getting enough money for rent and food since she was kicked out by her parents. But as soon as Himei asked to move in with Sakura, she accepted her request immediately.
As the weeks passed they got closer and they began viewing each other as family. Not by blood and not by name but by choice and chance.
