Chapter Text
Dear Hazel,
It’s been a month since I last saw you. I remember that last day so clearly. We were horseback riding. I kissed you on the cheek. It was your birthday. I went home, thinking that the next day I’d tell all the fellas at school that you’re my girl now.
Instead, you disappeared off to Alaska without a goodbye.
I wonder why you did that. You and your momma, why did you two take off like that? Maybe you found your daddy. I remember you saying you wanted to meet him so you could sock him in the gut for ditching you. I wonder if you’ve done that yet. That’d be a sight to see. I wish good ol’ Rufus could see you do that.
What’s Alaska like? I can imagine you giving me a funny look, saying Well, it’s cold, Sammy, what else do you expect it to be?
I don't really know what I’m tryna say by sending this. I guess I’m tryna say that you’re missed here. Mostly by me. You don’t have to come back, I know you weren’t happy here (despite my awesome self being present). But if you ever come visit, I’d appreciate it.
Wishing you the best,
Sammy
