The Cult of Ambystoma

Summary:

The Cult of Ambystoma is a primarily nomadic faith with a Central Temple used as a place of teaching and conserving. The primary philosophy centers around rebirth and the subversion of death. Generally, members are born to another member of the Cult and grow up in the Central Temple. Becoming a Novice at age 6 they begin basic education. After basic education, they begin journeying only returning to the Central Temple during holy days or to visit loved ones. Once they have reached a certain rank they retire back to the Central Temple and remain there until their true death.

Chapter 1: Main Tenants

Chapter Text

Tenants of The Cult of Ambystoma

Excellence

Be responsible and manage your duties. Respect those who have earned it and treat all others with courtesy until they have proven unworthy of it. Do not defame or attack the undeserving or those incapable of defending themselves

Hospitality

Be generous to those you allow into your home. In turn, one is not to trespass on another's home. Respect their boundaries, as they are expected to respect yours. You are not to forcibly turn visitors out of your home unless boundaries have been broken. Hospitality is to be given freely but reciprocity is expected.

Wisdom

Seek both spiritual and practical wisdom. Earn it and understand that a truly wise person does not claim to have all the answers. Ultimately one must seek knowledge for oneself.

Truth

Seek to; speak the truth, search for the truth, and be true to oneself. Share knowledge truly and freely.

Honour

Know your values, be true to them, be honest about them, and be prepared to defend them. Should someone aid you, you are to aid them in return. If someone should harm you then you are to pay them, and only them, in kind.

The Undead

One must work, to the best of their ability, to free the Undead from their curse.
