Work Text:

It was cold, as all November days are but Sakyo Furuichi was warm despite it. Today was supposed to be a break day, it was his birthday after all, and he was reminded of that fact every few minutes.

The rest of the troupes already wished him a happy birthday while Bon, Rurikawa and Usui had both enacted their truces. In other words, Rurikawa wished him happy birthday with no mention of the budget while Usui avoided him like the plague.

As for Bon, he knew that he was part of whatever Autumn was planning.

"Not that I'll be around to see...." He shakes his head, he really shouldn't get distracted while on a date.

Izumi was sweet enough to accompany him on a walk, to celebrate in peace.

He still has dreams of the day they decided to admit the fact that they were dating... He was 90% sure Usui added something to his drink when he wasn't looking while Nanao and Sakisaka's screams almost made him deaf.

Though she was definitely part of whatever the Autumn troupe was planning, but he decided to let it rest, it was a nice day in the park. The November chill was perfect for a relax and even more perfect for cuddling. Well not in public anyway.

He didn't exactly want to seem like sickeningly sweet out in public, yakuza still have a reputation to uphold, after all. Now if something were to happen behind close doors... Well that's their business.

"Yen for your thoughts?" Izumi interrupts his line of thought.

"It's nothing."

"It's definitely something if you're this red." She chuckles.

Sakyo says nothing, face somehow getting more red.

Well now that just wouldn't do, time for payback.

He leans down and whispers to her. "Maybe I was just thinking about last week."

She blushes back. "You're not supposed to be this smooth!" She whines.

Well it seems he still has it.

"I don't know what you're talking about.

"Please stop teasing me!"

Teasing aside, it was a nice walk in the park.

But the sun started to set and with great apprehension (or excitement in Izumi's case), they walked back to the dorms.

"Surprise!" Sakyo was absolutely sure that one of these days he was going to go deaf. Hyodo Jr. and Nanao's yelling could break windows, he was sure of that.

"I should've expected something like this." Sakyo sighs, fond.

"Sakyo-nii, we're having a movie night!" Nanao shouts, excitement very present.

"Before you say no, it's the weekend. None of us will miss anything." Settsu rightfully interjects before Sakyo says anything.

"We've even teamed up and got all our assignments done!" Sakisaka adds.

"Tsumugi was the MVP of that one." Chigasaki elbows Tsukioka.

"We've just split everyone through subjects." Tsukioka supplies. "Besides, with everyone's help it wasn't as hard as it sounds."

Hyodo Jr. and Usui's drained face say that no it was in fact harder than it sounds.

"It was easier than a breeze." Sumeragi preens.

"Okay so when you accidentally calculated using the wrong formula that was part of your master plan?" Rurikawa innocently asks.

And like so many times before, the two promptly got lost in their banter while Miyoshi swerved the recording phone to them.

Wait, how long has he been recording?

"...This is why we took a break. We just took one step inside and we're already being ambushed." Sakyo sighed.

" 'ts your birthday, though." Hyodo replies.

"Exactly." Sakyo quickly replies.

"Tsuzuru-san actually suggested this. It's been a while since we all did movies so since you were and I quote Itaru-san 'the movies guy'." Sakuma supplies as while Minagi blushes at the credit.

"It's just been a hectic year..." Minagi said.

"It was a novel idea! I may not have gotten a spot but I trust that you all have selected movies that speak to the soul!" Arisugawa poses.

Ikaruga nods happily. "Guy-san helped me find a triangle movie!"

"I tried my best." Guy sighs, back quickly patted by Mikage.

"Well, this'll be interesting..." Sakyo thinks to himself.

"The popcorn and smores are already ready, everyone." Fushimi said, big bowls with popcorn and flavor packets on the tables.

"How much did you buy?" Sakyo asks, already terrified of the answer.

"Do not worry too much, Sakyo~! I know the marketplace like the back of my hand!" Citron puffs himself up.

"This is probably the only time you didn't fudge a saying..." Utsuki teases.

Citron smiles enigmatically as always.

"He mostly lead me around and did the talking. He's surprisingly charismatic..." Takato remarked.

They all entered the living room, where a pile of movies were assorted. Sakyo decided to get them to clean up tomorrow considering how busy everyone was for preparing this.

Alongside making plans last minute cause everything about the pile screamed last minute.

"...Did you all at least get an order of what movies we'll be watching?" Sakyo asks.

"Since you're the birthday boy, we decided you should get first pick." Azuma gives them the list of already chosen movies, the number 1 spot blank. "The rest were picked through rock, paper and scissors."

"You got a pick didn't you..." Izumi deadpans.

"Of course." Azuma innocently smiles.

Seeing the distinct lack of musical movies in the list, he decided to list "Into The Woods". A classic and not too dark, though tissues will definitely be needed. Thankfully,

"Of course you'd pick a musical..." Bon mumbles looking over the list.

"That reminds me of the time we've watched Sleeping Beauty in 2nd grade." Sakyo quickly starts.

Bon glares at him though not saying anything. It was still a birthday after all.

Quickly, Fushimi hands them popcorn, cutting the tension quickly.

The musical starts with the narrator and wishes and the obstacles to those wishes.

"Happy birthday, Sakyo." Bon mumbles under his breath, unsure if Sakyo even caught it.

But Sakyo did. He didn't say anything, but the genuine smile said everything as it always did.
