Chapter Text
Today was not exactly a special day, the only thing that was out of normal was the group of recruits that KorTac invites every few years to keep the faction afloat. A bunch of newbies that would need training only to get killed on the battlefield. Nothing special.
König knew this tradition very well, recruits would come in, get trained for a few months, get sent on their first mission, and BLAM! Another casualty on the battlefield.
It’s so pointless, honestly a waste of time and money that could be used on something actually useful.
Despite his dislike for the tradition, he still had to participate. Begrudgingly, he rolled out of bed, got ready for the day, and walked out of his room just to attend a stupid meeting that would introduce all the new ‘members’ to KorTac.
Once König found his seat in the briefing room, he watched as the new recruits made their way in. His fellow operator, Horangi, lead them in after their tour of HQ, passing the lead over to their master sergeant, Fender.
As Fender went through a slideshow, the same slideshow König had seen a trillion times and practically knew it by heart, König decided to look at the recruits and see what this year’s batch had to offer.
there was a few that didn’t look all that special, like one girl that had her hair in two French braids had hear-aids, or a short dude that looked fresh from high school. All of them didn’t look out of the ordinary, until one girl caught his eye…
What the hell?… Who is she?…
She had long golden locks, eyes that made the sea look grey, fair skin that had the right amount of freckles, and her lips that were a lovely pink. That new recruit that sat across the room from him put Aphrodite to shame. König couldn’t help but stare at the beauty, new feelings he had never experienced before fluttering in his chest.
he was content with just staring at her, until he realized she was looking back at him. His social anxiety quickly kicking in, causing him to look away.
Please don’t think I’m a creep…
He looked back at her.
She’s looking away… Thank god…
As Fender continued the mandatory presentation for the recruits, König kept stealing glances at this newfound beauty. Her every movement captivating the Austrian man. For once in his life, something more than war and bloodshed mattered.
The presentation soon wrapped up, recruits and other higher-ranking officials started making their way to either their barracks or the mess hall. Only a few stayed behind for additional questions or just to converse with the remain individuals. All except that blonde beauty.
könig saw this as his chance to meet her, to know the name of that goddess. The only things stopping him was his crippling social anxiety.
his mind raced of everything that could go wrong.
She would probably think I’m a creep for staring at her… The worst she could say is no… right?… no, the worst she could say is ‘I think you’re creep and stupid looking, you look like an edge lord’… yeah, that’s the worst she could say… I hope…
his own thoughts distracted him so much that he didn’t realize that the blondie had moved, she was standing right in front of him.
”Are you okay?”
A sweet voice asked.
könig looked up. It was the blonde girl that he was staring at.
”U-ummm…” His social anxiety never felt so crippling before.
