Chapter Text
Rosado watched from afar as Goldmary trained, a habit of his that he developed without really realizing it. But her beauty was at it's zenith as she danced amidst training dummies lance in hand. She had recruited long time rival now friend? Etie to shoot arrows at her through it all, one whizzed towards her as her back was turned and Rosado was about to scream out. But with her usual grace Goldmary pivoted just in time, her silver buckler halting the projectile. This went on for some time and before he knew it, Rosado had spent the better part of a day gazing at his lovers fighting form. Her and Etie started cleaning up when he lost sight of them, the breeze lulled him into a daze.
Idly he stared into the sky passing the time until he felt a hand on his shoulder and bolted upright. "Boo!" Goldmary whispered into his ear. "Gah!" Rosado jumped, amazingly getting up only to immediately trip and fall on his backside. Goldmary roared with laughter and Rosado pouted "Geez Goldmary, did you really have to scare me!" She offered him a hand getting up, he stood up but quickly found himself enveloped in her strong arms. "Well consider it a little payback from watching me all day." she teased. Rosado was speechless, his face red as a tomato "Oh no. You knew? How did you see me?" This further amused Goldmary her smile radiant as ever but lined with mischief. "Well I didn't actually know, but you just confessed to me! I had a suspicion though." Rosado felt like he was about to bawl. Goldmary pecked him with a kiss, " Aw don't get embarrassed cutie, it's quite flattering you know? To feel your lovers burning gaze upon your back, but I have to ask this wasn't the first time was it?"
Rosado nodded his head slowly "This war has been so cruel, and the battles only grow fiercer. The only thing that keeps my mind off of it is watching you. It reassures me knowing you'll always be at my side." Goldmary grew quiet and Rosado wondered if he had said too much "I'm sorry for being so unreliable I'll stop". But her finger covered his lips and silenced him. " You can always talk to me darling if your worried, but if you stop watching me I'll be upset. If you take comfort in my training then watch to your heart's content! Don't be calling yourself unreliable! Remember who asked you out? Rosado's blush deepened at her sudden attack "We both know you asked me out silly".. "Exactly! I would never date someone unreliable. So are you saying I made a mistake?" She growled, angry at how he belittled himself. But she laid his head on her chest and stroked at his hair."I'm not angry at you. I just hate to see you pick on yourself. Remember we're together at the top. Truth be told I would watch you train if I could actually see you atop Camille. You have my back and I have yours, right?" Rosado returned her embrace, letting her words sink into him. "Your right! This isn't like me one bit! Im all fired up now, thanks Goldmary!" He trailed off for a second but returned to his vigor the moment before.
"Your my rock, I love you Goldmary." He expressed his deepest feelings to his lover, taking the initiative he was the first to say the word love in their 6 month relationship. Goldmary grabbed his face and squished his cheeks, they locked eyes and he knew in that moment she loved him too. "Oh Rosado, you can be such a smooth talker when you want." She drew him in for a deep kiss, passionate and long, he felt himself melting. After a long moment she disconnected their mouths. "I love you too Rosado, now do me a favor." He tilted his head a bit" Of course, what do you need?" She started walking, leading him by the hand they walked along the verdant path through the Somniel. "Let's go back to my room, I wanna show you just how much I love you". Rosado gulped and his face heated up "Y-yeah definitely" he dumbly stated. She stopped for a moment to look back at him once again amused "Dont be so nervous cutie, it's not anything we haven't done before." She winked and began their trek once again.
