Ash had gotten up early on Christmas morning to retrieve Eijis's gift. He's not a gift type of guy but he'll do it for Eiji. Since he knows he'll get him something. He would feel guilty if he only got something and Eiji didn't.
So Ash got him a special gift. He put a lot of thought into it and thought this would top anything Eiji bought him. Not like it's a battle or anything that was in his mind. He wanted not but the best for his lover he deserved it. For putting up with him.
Which was why he was at a pet store pushing a cart with dog food and other things that a young pup would need. Not to mention the puppy sleeping in the dog bed. He was pleased with himself to say the most.
Once he got the necessities he quickly checked out and walked out the store. The little pup walking beside him on a leash with its little wagging. Ash found the pup adorable and thought Eiji would feel the same.
They two had made it back to the condo in a timely manner. He unlocked the door letting the pup walk inside. The pup seemed at home as it lay on the skirt of the tree with other presents.
“It's like you knew,” Ash muttered under his breath. Watching as the pup closed its eyes. He chuckled to himself as he walked over to the sleeping pup. Taking off the leash and putting a bow on the collar.
He had decided to let the pup sleep and hoped for the pup to stay asleep. Ditching the idea of surprising Eiji with a random box and surprise a puppy.
He left for the bedroom and took off his jacket quietly so as to not wake up Eiji. He lay down beside him pulling him close to him and pressing a kiss on his forehead. He fell asleep shortly after.
The morning had come rather quickly because before he had a chance to wake up and check on the pup. He heard whimpering on Eijis's side of the bed. Eiji sat up slowly rubbing the sleepiness from his eyes. Before he heard the whining and scratching on the frame of the bed.
Eiji leaned down looking at where the sound was coming found. Eiji let out a gasp and dove down to grab the pup almost falling but Ash kept a firm grip on his waist. As soon as he heard his gasp. Eiji sat back up holding the puppy in his arms as the pup licked his face.
“It's a golden retriever!!” Eiji practically yelled. As he was petting the golden. He looked over at Ash leaning towards him pressing a kiss on his lips. Ash leaned into it until the pup bit his hand. Eiji oblivious as to what happened gladly continued to pet the puppy. While Ash just mean mugged the dog.
“When did you have time to get him?”
“Early this morning.”
Eiji lifted the dog pressing a kiss on his little head. “I thought maybe having a little buddy would keep you company while I'm out handling business.” Ash wrapped an arm around Eiji. Leaning his head on his shoulder.
“Well, then I'm naming him Buddy! Since he's gonna be my little buddy!” Ash laughed at him. Buddy seemed to like his name as he cuddled into Eiji laying his head on his lap and wagging his tail.
“You should open your gifts!” Eiji smiled at Ash. “No, I can wait a few more hours.” He replied. He liked lying next to Eiji watching as he played with Buddy it was a cute scene to watch. He was also too lazy and tired to get out of bed so it was a win-win.
“I love you!” Eiji looked over at Ash. Holding one of his hands.
“I love you too. Merry Christmas love!” Ash whispered back.
