Chapter Text

After a long day of travelling, you had finally arrived at the Court of Fontaine.

Currently you were sitting on a box near the entrance of Lyney and Lynette's house. You didn't have the stamina they all did, and they all agreed to fill you in after they have discussed things through. And you agreed.

So you were free to just sit there and stare into space. Though that wasn't what you were admiring, no. It was more of a he. Pale blond hair, small braid tucked into his hat, and a warm voice.

Lyney. Who had already said his goodbyes to you for now and was now walking away with his twin, to carry out their own little tasks.

With the amount of times you had to shake yourself out of your daze, you were glad he didn't notice all the little glances you were stealing.

But goodness, those eyes.

Amethyst eyes that captivated you, playful and beautiful, especially when paired with a cheeky grin.

And archons, those thigh-

"You're staring," said the traveller from behind you. You jolted and almost smacked him in the spur of the moment.

"Ahh, what the- "

He gave no comment to your startled expression, as always - except the times you would succeed in whacking him with what you had. One time, it was an umbrella.

"So, you enjoyed the view?" He said, with his usual teasing smile. He nodded at the direction Lyney had disappeared off to, and much to your dismay, you realized this idiot might have caught you fawning over the magician. So someone did notice after all.

"What?! I- what do you mean?" You said, a little too late, and to prove you weren't flustered, tried leaning on the box cooly. It slid off and you almost lost your balance, your footing and was almost sent whirling to the ground.

The traveller had his annoying little smirk on. The 'I'm about to tease you and be annoying' smirk. Perhaps he had trained his entire life for it because god damn, he was proficient at it.

"It's ok to like him, you know, he is pretty cute," he said, and gave you a knowing wink.

"Shut up!"

Why the heck was he the one who caught you? Not that it would be better if anyone else did.

"Aha, so you do like them, goodness, just tell them!"
The traveller said and sighed, as he looked at you with disappointed eyes and folded arms. Oh, he was definitely judging you.

"I do not!"

"Yeah, and you're not an idiot in denial."

There was a sarcastic click of a tongue, and then, a shrug. He probably decided it was not worth burning his brain over.

"Whatever. Don't be late for dinner. Paimon will eat everything if you do," he said, brushing off the conversation you were just having - honestly, a relief.

"I do not!" You heard Paimon scream. From... above? Where had she floated off to?

The traveller seemed to be thinking the same thing because he just scoffed at her response and rolled his eyes with an unimpressed grunt.

"Yeah, I won't be late!" You said to the both of them.

With a thumbs up, the traveller and Paimon left, to explore the place a little more.

No way. You thought to yourself and waved off what the traveller had planted in your mind. You didn't like him. He was just pretty. Ridiculously pretty. Like anyone else the three of you come across in every nation. It's not like you lie in bed at night thinking abt him.

Then you remembered the time Lyney waved at you excitedly, thinking you were waving at him. Why did it come to mind? Must be your worn out mind. Right?

You don't like him. Not at all. That's not why you were smiling right now, incredulously. It's just cause... he's weird. Right? What a little weirdo.

But no. You didn't like him. Not at all.

Late at night, you tossed and turned, unable to fall asleep. You were worn out from walking around and travelling all day, not to mention from the encounter with Childe but you had a feeling it wasn't why you couldn't sleep. Usually the fatigue just made you pass out anywhere once you lied down.

You had tried to count sheep. And treasure chests. But it didn't work. Usually it did.

So you just lied in bed, wondering and thinking.

Thinking about... purple eyes and the way they glimmered with mischief when he teased you, that provoking voice, the stains of paint on his cheeks, how you'd like to kiss it away, smear it yourself-

Once you caught your own train of thought, you sat up in shock. You were now even more wide awake. Uh oh.

Oh no.

Fuck no. Why? Why do you have to like him? He probably liked the traveller.

Shit. Oh shit. He liked the traveller.

You swallowed thickly. This wasn't the first time someone you had a crush on had eyes for your companion. You didn't blame them. The traveller is a good person. But could you possibly be able to deal with it right now?

Oh dear. You might be fucked.

You groaned, hugging your knees and faceplanting into them as you desperately gathered the blanket you had for more warmth and comfort.

Archons, send help.

Notes:
