Chapter Text

Shinou I miss him.

That was the only thought that permeated Wolfram’s mind as his day slowly progressed.

His uncle had convinced him to visit Bielefeld for an extended visit and by some miracle he had agreed. Usually he had an excuse, his royal appointments, events and the projects he needed to attend in the capital or abroad. When he was especially desperate he would tell his uncle that Yuuri or Greta required his presence.

Unfortunately he didn’t have that excuse this time. The summer had seemed unending but their country was in a time of peace. Yuuris reign had brought on a stability that their people had desperately needed and while he was thankful for it, it also meant he was left a soldier without a war.

Yuuri was spending this time in his home world, throwing himself into his studies so that he can learn how to better rule their people and their kingdom. Their loving daughter had followed her fathers example and was spending a few months in Cavalcade studying diplomacy with her beloved friends.

Which left Wolfram here, in Bielefeld, with no rhyme, reason or justified excuse to shirk his nobel duties as the heir of Bielefeld.

His uncle had learned that using his honour against him was the best way to manipulate his nephew and he didn’t spare a second thought about his own less than honourable methods.

So here he was, stuffed into a carriage, dressed impeccably, and sweltering in the summers heat on his way to some lesser nobles house for a garden party. A small get together his uncle had assured him, but he always knew better than to trust his uncle.

“You look frustrated Wolfram, come now you used to love attending these types of events with me.” His uncle had a knack for terrible timing.

“Not since I was a child.” Wolfram remarked as he watched the rolling hills of his country beyond their carriage window.

It had been some time since they had passed the last town and it would only be an hour or so before they reached their destination on the coast.

The only appealing thing about this whole trip was the crisp sea air that would finally take the edge off this unrelenting heat. It would also end this unending carriage ride that gave his uncle unfettered access to probe him with an endless barrage of questions about the king and their relationship.

He was always seeking fodder for the Cold War he was wagging against Yuuri. One that showed his acceptance of their king while still clearly reminding everyone with working eyes that he refused to support their engagement. It was a tight line to walk but his uncle did so with little care of its necessity.

“Come now, think of this as a well earned vacation from your royal duties. It’s unforgivable how busy the king keeps you.” His uncles tone was laced with dissatisfaction the way it usually was when discussing their king.

“He doesn’t keep me busy, I am his intended and I have duties to our country, to our people and to our daughter.” Wolfram reminded him with the bored infliction of a man that had had this conversation far too many time. Probably because he had. Not that his uncle would ever let the topic rest.

“Wolfram I don’t understand why-“

“Uncle we will not revisit the topic of my engagement. Yuuri will be my husband the same way that he will always be my king.” Wolfram didn’t care that it was impolite to cut off his uncle but his trip was well into its fourth week and his nerves were wearing thin with his uncles onslaught of questions.

“It has been almost three years and you have yet to marry. Did it ever occur to you that he has no intention of marrying you. That he’s simply using y-“

“UNCLE!” He shouted as turned to face the lord, the air around them simmering with his magic.

“Wolfram this is exactly why I worry for you.” His face contorting with shock at his nephews outburst.

“I don’t care for your tone nor your beliefs on the matter. It is my marriage and my life. I will live it the way I intend to with the man that I love. Do not speak ill of him in my presence again Uncle.”

Wolfram tried to breathe, to calm himself but his uncles words burned nonetheless. While his relationship with Yuuri had changed with the passage of time and their own maturity, the early growing pains still left it’s scars. The truth was that without Yuuri at his side, he could not help but to doubt himself. He had always believed his fiancé to be a wimp but on days like today he was not much better.

“I’m sorry to have upset you but you cannot blame me for my concern. I am not nearly as cavalier as your mother.” The elder Bielefeld remarked as he too turned his attention towards the window, sulking like the mirror image of his nephew across from him.

Wolfram rolled his eyes and turned his attention back to the country, he could see the coast off in the distance and again he was reminded of Yuuri.

On days like today all he wanted was for night to fall and for him to find himself once again in his kings arms. Over the years their relationship had finally grown stronger as Yuuri abandoned his biases and fears for Wolframs sake. He pushed himself to reconsider his views and his beliefs and he challenged Wolfram to consider his own. It had been well over a year since then and their love had blossomed over time.

Yuuri no longer abstained from discussing their engagement, he had long since abandoned telling Wolfram to sleep separately from him. Instead his held his hand securely within his own at every opportunity and he leaned into every respectable display of affection Wolfram allowed him to get away with. But the nights, those truly belonged to them.

Wolfram had always assumed that they would wait until marriage to consummate their relationship. His fiancé was a wimp after all and his reluctance coupled with his honour code left little hope for anything untoward.

Boy was he wrong. While his fiancé had been shy and gentle at first, he gained confidence far more quickly than Wolfram could have accounted for. Not that he was complaining, if anything, he was quite content with this turn of events.

More importantly than that, he and Yuuri had worked hard to strengthen their relationship. They worked on their communication, they put their relationship first and they supported one another.

Wolfram knew he had no reason to let his uncles comments get to him but the insecurities he’d come to harbour in the first few years of their relationship still lingered, especially on days like today.

“I’m sorry if I’ve upset you Wolfram.” His uncles eyes were trained on the fields outside and he wasn’t willing to let all of his anger go but he was remorseful all the same.

“I … I just wish you would believe me.” He replied softly, as he turned back towards his window as he waited for them to arrive.

His uncle did nothing but hum noncommittally in response. Wolfram sighed and schooled his features once more.

—————-

As the day wore on Wolfram was reminded how differently time flowed for most of the Mazoku of their kingdom.

It had felt like a lifetime since Wolfram had last attended a soirée of this sort without it involving the king or his own royal duties. Even longer since he’d attended them alongside his uncle in the Bielefeld territory.

The event was held on an estate overlooking the whole of the ocean. No land could be seen from the horizon and Wolfram felt small just looking out across its expanse, something he found himself doing a lot throughout the evening.

On one hand he was surrounded by acquaintances and friends he had known and grown up with long before Yuuri was even born and on the other he felt like he was surrounded by a myriad of strangers all of whom had known him once and now didn’t.

They all knew a version of him, that was certain, but he wasn’t an ill tempered brat anymore. No matter how often Yuuri disagreed with him. Whereas everyone around him seemed to have been frozen in time and hadn’t changed since he’d last seen them.

The garden party had bled into the ball as the sun began to set around them. Wolfram watched the noble men and women dance with one another, trading laughter and drinks and even the occasional kiss.

Wolfram tried his best to avoid the dance floor these days, he knew lips were loose when it came to his relationship with their king and his uncle did nothing but worsen the gossip with his obvious disdain.

So instead he stuck to the edges of the garden, discussing everything from agriculture and trade to policy with the more established attendants of the event.

The only enjoyable thing to come from it was his uncles annoyance, clearly he had hoped that one of the many young and eligible nobles would catch his eye. Not that they didn’t try, he had lost track of how many people, young and old, had asked him to join them in a dance but time and time again he refused.

“You realize your not barred from enjoying yourself in the absence of our king.” Wolfram was pulled out of his pondering as he turned to a smiling face.

“Felix I didn’t know you were expected to attend tonight.” Wolfram said with his first real smile of the night as he moved to hug his old friend.

Felix Von Wincott was one of the few friend he had kept over the years. They had spent much of their youth studying under his sister Julia only to join the military academy together.

“Well I was told you would be attending so I thought I’d offer my company.” His blue eyes glimmered as he ran his hand through I his shaggy shoulder length hair.

“I wish you’d offered it sooner, if my uncle introduces me to one more marriage candidate I’m setting myself on fire.” Wolfram exclaimed as he watched his friend trying to hold back his laughter.

“He was gloating to my brother that he’s booked your appointment calendar solid during your visit. Something about showing you what other possibilities are out there.” Felix advised as his eyes roved over the rest of the partygoers.

“Tell me your joking.” Wolfram remarked as pinched the bridge of his nose trying to ward off the headache. He had wondered why there were so many social engagements this year, he had hoped his uncle was simply trying to show him a good time, not parading him around like a show pony. Clearly he had given his uncle far too much credit.

“Did you think that every bachelor and bachelorette in the kingdoms managed to find their way here on accident?” He responded, his eyes settling on a figure across the party.

“You’re still lost on Evangeline I see?” Wolfram remarked as he gazed at the young heiress of the Redford family.

“Can you blame me? She is stunning.” He remarked as he waved to her from afar. Wolfram smiled as she made her way towards them, he wondered if it was as obvious to everyone else as it was to him what they felt for one another.

“Felix I didn’t know you would be here!” She exclaimed as she held her hand out for him to take. He made a show of bending to kiss it, his eyes failing to leave hers for even a second.

She tried to stop herself from giggling but it was clear to anyone with eyes who she loved.

She turned to him slowly before reaching over and kissing him softly on his cheek. “Wolfram you’ve been avoiding us all night, don’t think I haven’t noticed.” Her eyes were sharp in the way she saw straight through him. He had always envied her ability to read a situation or room or person, her intellect was a shining jewel in its own right.

“Eva, can you blame me when my uncle seems intent on trying to marry me off to every third person attending this party?” He whispered as he noticed more friends approach.

“You’re uncle drew even my mothers ire recently. She said his ramblings about our king were practically treasonous.” She replied with a laugh, Wolfram shrugged off the comment, their dislike for one another went both ways after all.

“Yuuri’s not the kind of king that would rise to his sordid bait.” The prince remarked, his own frustrations lacing his voice before he could think to stop them.

“Defending your fiancé I see? It’s unfortunate that he’s not here to do so on his own behalf.” A familiar voice added in as he approached their group and Wolfram forced himself not to groan aloud as he turned to see Hadrian von Grant staring back at him. He had really hoped he would avoid seeing him here.

If Wolfram had known Hadrian was coming he would never have attended this event, but clearly his uncle had done a better job of withholding the guest list then he would have expected.

“I’m surprised you’re in attendance at all. I thought the von Grants were staying out of social circles what with your cousins desertion.” Eva added, her smile forcing him to falter as he approached. Wolfram was thankful for the small victory.

“Eva that’s just mean!” A young lady remarked behind him. Her long magenta hair cascading down her back, her high heels making her seem taller then she truly was.

“Zelda!” Wolfram exclaimed as he turned to hug his oldest friend. “I’ve missed you!”

“I’ve missed you too! I’m so glad that you’re here Wolfy! I just have to complain to the king, it’s unfair how little I see you these days!” She complained as she pulled away from him and took him in once more.

“Join the club.” Hadrian remarked, his eyes meeting Wolframs in challenge.

Wolfram glared back at him, ready to respond when Eva cut them off.

“Wolfram even you must admit that you’ve been far less accessible then you once were. There was a time that you attended every social event the summer months could offer.” Eva reminded.

“She is right.” Felix agreed, to which she smiled up at him so happily the blonde  feared he might float away from the high.

“My mother was the queen and I was her favourite plus one. I don’t miss being carted from one party or ball to another.” He offhandedly remarked, before turning his attention back on Zelda.

“You have to visit me in the Capital this fall, I know how much you love bear-bees and they visit us to have their young every fall.”

Zelda’s eyes lit up as he spoke, she couldn’t believe her ears.

“Really?! Oh I’d love to! That is if the king doesn’t mind.” She added hastily as though she had forgotten herself momentarily. The edge to her voice told Wolfram all he needed to know about why she was cautions. She believed Yuuri was behind his regular failures to attend social events. She believe he was being controlled. The comment felt like a bucket of cold water being dumped over his head.

Wolfram forced his anger down as best he could, the very idea of his wimp being domineering or himself being so weak as to allow another to control his behaviour was laughable.

“He won’t. He loves them almost as much as you do, though Greta might give you a run for your money.” He joked, but the thought of his fiancé was still somehow making his heart clench. All he could think in the back of his mind was how badly he wished he could go home to him.

“I still can’t believe you adopted that human princess.” Hadrian remarked as he took a sip from his drink, his skin flushed red and Wolfram could tell this wasn’t his first of the night.

“She is my daughter, it’s a simple concept really.” Wolfram retorted as he took a glass from a passing waiter. He didn’t drink often but being anywhere near Hadrian made for an exception.

“Wolfram you hate humans.” Hadrian remarked, everyone around them froze, waiting for Wolfram to respond, to get angry, to explode the way they knew he usually would at the slightest provocation. Or worse, they believed he would agree and go into a tirade about his hatred of humans.

Instead he sighed, shook his head and finished his drink before turning back to face his friends.

“Did it ever occur to you that my views have changed on the matter? That I’ve grown past my childish understanding of the topic?” He was curious after all. Being in the capital and alongside the king meant that he wasn’t often privy to the nobles views of him. But the idea of not loving his daughter weighed heavy on his conscious, how could he not love her, the concept was beyond him now.

Hadrian for his part seemed shocked at the question. Then hurt, then betrayed.

It was Zelda that finally broke their silent stalemate.

“Wolfy we know a lot has happen these past few years but you have to see it from our point of view. One day you’re a staunch believer that our kingdom could never have a foreign king on the throne and the next you’re engaged to him. Overnight. You can’t expect us to believe that you loved that man the day you met him?” Zelda added cautiously, her eyes searching for an explanation to questions she must have held close to her heart for some time.

“Unless of course we let ourselves believe you seduced the king for the sake of your family’s influence on the throne as Lord Spitzeg has been saying for years.” Hadrian spat the words as though they were poison, his glare sitting heavy on his face at the thought.

“Don’t be stupid enough to listen to my uncle. Either of my uncles actually, they both have an agenda and I’m nothing more the fodder for the fire.” Wolfram tried to keep his voice nonchalant but his demeanour betrayed him. Here he was, tricked into attending an event that he naively believed would be nothing more then a tea party. Instead he was once again just some pawn for his uncle to throw around in the hopes of using him to get to the king.

He’d spent his entire life wondering if the people around him were simply using him as a way to get to his mother and now here he was again. This time being used as a way to get to Yuuri. Worst of all his uncle had every intention of using him to hurt the man he loved and Wolfram hadn’t been able to stop him. Worst of all he had trusted him, believed him. How pathetic.

“So you would chose that man over your own family? Clearly I’ve misjudged you Wolfram” Hadrian remarked as he waved over another attendant with even more drinks.

Wolfram took one without pause, if this was what his uncle had planned then he may as well allow the alcohol to take the edge off. He would need all the help he could get if it meant not rising to the bait Hadrian was throwing at his face.

In the back of his mind he could hear Yuuri’s concerned voice but he paid it no heed. If he was ever forced to come to Bielefeld again he would drag the double black with him. He would never put himself in this position again, he swore it.

From a distance he could see his uncle watching him, clearly amused at what he was witnessing. Wolfram shot him a glare before turning back to his friends.

“Did my uncle ask you to say that? Because you and I both know you don’t have a mind of your own.”

Hadrians eyes widened before his face turned even more red, anger and alcohol fuelling him even further.

“At least I don’t spread my legs at the behest of my brothe-“ Wolfram had a sword to his neck before he could finish the sentence.

A silence fell over the party as everyone’s attention turned to the young nobles. All of them frozen, afraid to say another word.

“Wolfram put down your sword.” Felix urged as he walked over and placed himself between the two men.

“Hadrian you’ve had too much to drink, do not forget yourself again.” Wolfram remarked, his blade pushing against his throat before he finally sheathed it. All of the attendants seemed to breath a sigh of relief as he did.

“I’m sorry.” Hadrian replies as he finally put his drink down. “But you can’t blame me for being upset, you know I had every intention to court you, to ask your mother for your hand in marriage and then he just-“

“He is your king and my betrothed. More importantly he is the man I wish to marry.” Wolfram did little to conceal the statement, if anything he was hoping that everyone in the vicinity heard him loudly and clearly.

“You can’t honestly mean that.” Hadrian responded his glare fixed in place and his arms crossed tightly as though he was holding himself back.

“And why the hell not?” Wolfram could feel himself once again rising to take the bait and yet he couldn’t help himself.

“Do you really care for him Wolfram?” Eva asked curiously. Her voice not holding the malice of Hadrian’s but still on edge none the less. Wolfram could feel his head practically spin at the implication. Wasn’t there anyone who believed him? Was it that hard to believe that he loved Yuuri and that Yuuri loved him back.

“I know we are all bound by duty Wolfram but I had always hoped you would have the chance to marry for love.” Zelda added softly, her big bright eyes rising to meet his. Her sadness was evident, she truly believed that he was unhappy, that he was marrying Yuuri out of a sake of duty.

“Zelda, I don’t know what I can say to convince you but I am not going to marry Yuuri out of a sense of duty. I have not remained engaged to him because of my pride or my honour or my family! I… I care for him. I care so deeply for him that my vocabulary falls short… He is the man that I love.” Wolfram pleaded, hoping against all hope that she would understand, that she would believe him.

Zelda stared back at him for a moment, measuring him, making a decision that he had no way of understanding. She nodded to herself after a moment, as though she had finally made up her mind.

“I hope he knows how lucky he is.” She added as she reached up to peck him on the cheek as a means to pacify him but he couldn’t help but to feel that she still did not believe him.

“Maybe we should all visit the palace? It’s been a long time since any of us have visited the capital.” Felix offered, trying his best to take the heat off Wolfram for which the blonde was grateful.

“It would give us a chance to get better aquatinted with his majesty that’s for sure. I wouldn’t mind coming to see the bear-bees as well.” Eva supplied as she wound her arms around Felix.

Felix smiled back at her like she had strung the stars in the sky and Wolfram couldn’t help but feel jealous and wish Yuuri was there with him once again.

“You’ll like him, he loves getting into trouble almost as much as you do.” Wolfram remarked with a smile thinking back to the hundred or so times Yuuri would take every chance he could get to avoid his royal duties and embark on another adventure.

“Well that just means I’ll have to bring my A game then!” Eva remarked, her eyes glinting with mischief that Wolfram was sure he would regret condoning.

“If anyone can give you a run for your money it’s him. He regularly convinces me to sneak out of the castle and past his guards to go with him and on one adventure or another.” Wolfram said with a smile as he recalled their most recent trip to visit the dragons.

“You must be joking, I can’t imagine Gwendal allowing such a thing!” Zelda said with a laugh, bringing each of them a smile to their faces.

“He always blames Yuuri for his newest wrinkles.” Wolfram advised as he thought of his long suffering older brother.

“Lady Annisina seems quite taken with the king, when she visited me last she mentioned that the king was a huge fan of her inventions.” Felix added as he grabbed a pastry off a nearby serving table.

“That’s because he keeps offering her Gwendal and Gunters as assistants.” Wolfram explained. “Last time she visited the castle they both threatened to boycott her experiments, they even tried to put up a united front but Big Brother has never been very good at saying no to her.” Wolfram added with a sigh, happy to finally be back on stable ground.

“I always thought they would make a handsome couple!” Zelda added to which everyone nodded their agreement.

“I’ve never been brave enough to ask him about his feelings for her if I’m honest.” Wolfram remarked as he finally picked up another drink, the party seemed to finally be getting back into the swing of things and he was grateful.

“For good reason his head might just explode.” Felix laughed. “He’s wound up so tight I can’t imagine what that would look like if it came undone.” Wolfram laughed at the thought.

“Yuuri once got into an argument with him and half way through the meeting Gwendal face turned so red they had to stop the meeting! Yuuri was afraid he would pass out.” Wolfram laughed as he remembered the maids carrying in trays of ice at Yuuris behest.

“I would love to see that, there’s something so enjoyable about seeing Gwendal get frustrated.” Zelda said with a laugh.

Wolfram smiled, before turning back to look at Hadrian. Hadrian caught his eye and scowled before walking away towards the gardens, away from the party and all of its attendants.

He was shaken out of his reverie by Felix’s hand on his shoulder.

“Pay him no mind Wolfram, you know he has always had feelings for you. I think he had hoped you would eventually come around to returning them.” He explained with a shake of his head. Next to him Eva nodded as she smiled to him sadly.

“I’m sorry we made you uncomfortable Wolfram. We just wanted to be sure. To know that this wasn’t something you were being forced to do.” Eva explained as she reached over to hold his hand in the comfort of her own.

He smiled softly back at her as he gently squeezed her hand.

“I want you to meet him, to know him the way that I do.“ Wolfram explained as best as he could. She smiled softly and nodded in agreement.

“This fall? We’ll come to visit.” She assured him.

“Thank you.” Wolfram added with a smile before turning his attention to the gardens. “I’ll go talk to Hadrian.” He added only to be held back by Zelda.

“He’s angrier then you think Wolfram.” She warned but he just shook his head in response.

“It’s okay… it’s best we work this out sooner rather then later.” He replied before walking towards the gardens.

He sighed as he walked through the lush gardens looking for his old friend. He couldn’t help but to sympathize with him. After all he knew how it felt to love someone and spend their days waiting to have that love returned. He had been lucky that Yuuri came to return his affections. He didn’t know what would have become of him if he hadn’t.

Hadrian was standing by a fountain adorned with a dragon in its centre and his eyes were trained on it as though it had personally offended him.

“Are you ready to talk to me or are you going to go back to insulting me?” Wolfram asked as he leaned against a standing pillar waiting for him to react.

A pregnant silence fell over the garden as Hadrian turned his attention to him. His eyes betraying the hurt he felt.

“I can’t understand why you would choose him.” Hadrian finally admitted, the fight from him was finally gone and all that was left was the sadness and the regret.

“That’s not what this is about Hadrian and you know it.” Wolfram said with a sigh as he approached him. “You and I-“

“We didn’t even get a chance Wolfram. We didn’t get a chance. When I told you my feelings at the academy I though we would have a lifetime to find our way to one another. I thought that I would get to prove to you that I’m worthy of you of your love! And then all of a sudden this king comes from another land and before I know it you’re engaged to be married to him of all people?” Hadrians voice grew louder and more strained the longer he spoke, his hands ran through his platinum blonde hair pulling and tugging with frustration he must have carried for years. Wolfram felt his heart ache at his suffering when he knew all too well how it felt.

There were still nights when he would wake in a fit afraid the Yuuri had returned to his home and would never come back.

“Why… Why him Wolfram.” Hadrian asked, his eyes trained on the floor as his body practically shook with the breath of his emotions.

Wolfram stoped for a moment before making his way to the other man. His hand reaching out to grasp his arm before leading him to sit on the edge of the fountain in front of them. He waited for Hadrians breathing to steady before he finally spoke.

“Do you remember when we were kids? When our mothers would meet and spend hours going on and on about their lovers?” Wolframs eyes were trained on the moon as he spoke and Hadrian was drawn to watching him the way he always was in his presence. Wolfram was beautiful, something he told him often throughout their youth.

“We were usually more interested in clashing swords.” Hadrian recalled fondly.

“My mother would say time and time again that all she wanted in life was love. Not power, not the crown not the kingdom. Just love.” Wolfram recalled before turning back to Hadrian.

“You used to think she was mad.” Hadrian remarked. Wolfram shrugged before turning back to him.

“She was right. I didn’t know it then but I do now. A life without love is like a life lived in black and white. Then all of a sudden the world explodes into colour and you can’t imagine a life without it.” Wolfram explained as best he could but still felt he was doing it no Justice.

“I could have been that for you.” Hadrian remarked. “I could have been all of that and more, why can’t you see that Wolfram” Hadrians eyes began to mist with unshed tears while Wolfram shook his head, unsure of what to say next.

“Hadrian I-“ he never got to finish that sentence before Hadrian leaned over to kiss him. It took a split second before he pushed him away standing as he went his eyes shocked as he looked at the other man.

“Can you still tell me that you feel nothing for me? That this doesn’t mean something to you?” Hadrian asked, begged as he regarded Wolframs frozen figure.

Wolframs fingered lingered in his lips, his mind unable to accept that he had been kissed by anyone other then Yuuri. The memory of Yuuri made his heart ache terribly.

“I’m sorry Hadrian. I love Yuuri.” Wolfram replied.

Hadrian’s eyes began to water as he nodded his head and ran. Wolfram heard his whispered apology, and his echoing footsteps as he disappear from the gardens but he was stood frozen in time, his fingers unable to move from his lips.

‘I don’t want to go back there. I don’t want to do this anymore.’ The pain in his chest felt unbearable as he ached to be anywhere but there.

Tears began to stream down his face as he collapsed over the fountains edge. His arms crossing against its edge as he finally let himself cry. One sob after another pillaged their way through his body as his thoughts ran through the past day, the past week, the past month. He was surrounded by people he had once considered his friends and his family and yet in that moment he felt truly and utterly alone in the world.

‘I don’t want to be here anymore, Shinou I don’t want to be here any more. I wish Yuuri was here. Why can’t I just go home.’

He couldn’t stop the sobbing he couldn’t stop the tears, he didn’t know what to do or where to go, he just felt helpless and alone. All of a sudden he heard a gasp behind him. He turned to see Zelda but before he could speak he felt a pulling on his arm and then he was being pulled into the fountain and into another world.

—————-

Wolfram had no idea where he was. He sat up on the grass underneath him as he took in his environment. He reached for his sword but it was gone. He only hoped it was back in Bielefeld.

One second he was in Bielefeld and the next he was here. This was Yuuri’s world, he was sure of it, with the buildings and the people. It had to be.

Everyone was looking at him and he could recognize their clothing, it was similar to what Yuuri wore.

But there was no Yuuri. Only him and a sea of strange faces looking back at him, speaking words he couldn’t understand, and all of a sudden it all came back to him, his uncle, the party, Hadrian kissing him. The tears began to run down his face before he could stop them and he pulled his knees closer to him so he could cry without them seeing him.

He could hear the whispers and the shouting around him but he didn’t care. All he could do was try to hold himself together and try to stop himself from sobbing.

“WOLFRAM” the sound of his name was the only thing that forced him to look up.

All of a sudden Yuuri was forcing his way through the crowd, one second he was running towards him the next Wolfram had launched himself into his arms.

He felt Yuuri tighten his arms around him, pulling him tightly to his chest as he let himself cry. He could hear Yuuri’s whispered words trying to comfort him in the mazoku language only they could understand here.

A mantra of “it’s okay” and “you’re safe” and “I’ve got you” pulling more tears from him then he thought possible as he continued to sob into his arms.

He didn’t know how much time had passed before he was able to breath again without sobbing. He sniffed to himself as he gently pushed Yuuri away so he could wipe away the tears. The embarrassment hitting him too hard and too fast with so many witnesses in their presence.

Instead Yuuri reached up to wipe the tears away himself. His hand coming to rest against his cheek as their eyes finally met.

“What happen?” Yuuri asked softly but Wolfram could only shake his head. He didn’t want to tell him, not yet.

“Nothing, everyone’s okay I-“ He felt Yuuri tilt his face upward to catch his eye. There was a moment that passed between them as Yuuri read him like an open book. He sighed and defeat and nodded to himself before continuing.

“It’s not nothing if you are this upset… But it’s okay, we can talk about it later.” Yuuri promised, the anger simmering in his voice while he forced himself to stay calm for his fiancés sake.

Wolfram nodded softly to which Yuuri smiled before helping him stand up, his larger hand enveloping Wolframs smaller one.

The human blood in Yuuri’s veins and his time spent on earth had aged him so that he was now taller and larger then Wolfram.

He had hated it at first, watching him grow and age fearing that they would follow in the footsteps on his mother and Dunheely.

It was his eminence’s assurances that Yuuris aging would slow once he moved to their kingdom permanently that finally comforted him.

Yuuri smiled back at Wolfram, hoping that it would ease his worries and make him feel better until he could get them home and get to the bottom of what was going on.

His classmates had completely circled them in the time that it took him to calm Wolfram and he could feel their prying questions.

Instead he decided to shake it off. He would deal with them tomorrow, plus Wolfram was a far more important concern.

He began to turn towards the entrance of the school, intent on leading them home when he heard his principle shouting in the background.

Yuuri tried not to let his annoyance show as he turned to face the old man. Wolframs hand still held gently in his own, anchoring them both.

“Shibuya-kun explain yourself immediately, you know that no one but this schools students are allowed on the premises!” The man’s face was turning red and it took a moment to realize why. He wasn’t just staring at Wolfram, he was glaring at their hands, still joined together at his side. Yuuris confusion quickly bled into rage as he turned to confront his principle in a way he hadn’t thought possible previously.

“Really? I had no idea, what with the way half the students from the girls only school down the street are here every other day.” He replied as he glanced across the school ground. “I think I see a group of them down there, why don’t you go talk to them since we were just leaving.”

He felt his principle grab his arm pulling his away from Wolfram before he got the chance to walk away.

“What do you think your doing?” Yuuri could feel his voice drop, the anger of the demon king pushing against his soul begging to be unleashed on the man who dared pull him away from the blonde.

“I don’t know why you think you have the right to give me attitude but I suggest you watch yourself young man before I suspend you. Now who is that young man and what is he doing here?” The bald headed man was turning purple with anger and for a moment Yuuri wished his head really would explode.

“Why does any of that matter-“

“Yuuri what’s going on.”

Wolframs voice was like an ice bath for his anger. He was already upset and confused and Yuuri getting angry would probably make that worse.

He tried to take a deep breath before turning back to the blonde to smile softly at him. “I’m sorry Wolf, I didn’t mean to worry you. That man is the head of this school and he’s asking me about who you are and why you’re here.”

I’m your fiancé, why wouldn’t I be where you are ?” He asked as he glared at the man and looked at him up and down before turning back to Yuuri.

“You’re right, but he won’t appreciate that answer Wolfram .” Yuuri tried to explain gently but suddenly Wolframs eyes began to mist.

You’re ashamed of me- “ “ Never ” Yuuri interrupted before he could stop himself. He had already hurt him enough with his unwillingness to deal with his own feelings. He wouldn’t do it again.

Wolfram could practically feel his heart skip a beat at the simple assurance. He blinked away the tears before nodding softly.

“What language are you speaking Shibuya-Kun and what is he saying exactly? I want an explanation immediately” His principle demanded as all the students whispered among themselves curiously.

Yuuri glared back at the man, instinctively stepping in front of Wolfram and hiding him from the principles eye-line. Something about the way the man looked at Wolfram made him feel unsettled and he wanted nothing more then for them to go home.

“His name is Wolfram von Bielefeld. We are speaking in his language, he is from a small kingdom in Europe. He was here looking for me. He has found me so we are going home.” Yuuri explained as evenly as possible hoping that they could be done with this discussion.

“That tells me nothing! What is he doing here, why is he looking for you? You can’t just expect me to believe that this young man just appeared from no where looking for you.” Yuuri stared at the man for a moment considered what he should do. On one hand he wanted to grab Wolfram by the hand and make a run for it. On the other he could just tell him the truth and see what happens.

Mind made up Yuuri reached behind him and took Wolframs hand in his own. He smiled at the blonde before pulling his hand up to his lips kissing his knuckles gently before turning back to the principle and the horrified faces in his classmates. He could see Wolfram blush beside him as he squeezed his hand right back.

“Wolfram is my fiancé. We’re engaged. He was upset so he came looking for me. If you don’t believe me feel free to call my parents and have them confirm it for you.” Yuuri advised. He tried to hold back the smile as everyone around him seemed to gasp is shock.

Why do they look so surprised? ” Wolfram asked him. Yuuri smiled sadly back at his before explaining.

It is not common in this world for two men to marry, it’s technically illegal in this country .” Yuuri explained only to be met with shock from Wolfram.

That’s barbaric .” Wolfram whispered only for Yuuri to nod in agreement.

He looked up to see the faces of his classmates, his friends, and his principle. Most of them were shocked and trying to digest the information others looked horrified, disgusted and some, like his principle looked angry.

“You expect me to buy that? I-“ Yuuri’s glare effectively stopping him from saying another word.

“I don’t care what you believe. Call my father if you don’t, but I won’t stand here and  listen to your nonsense.” Yuuri led the way through the crowd, Wolframs hand securely in his own as he made his way out of the school ground and towards his home before the principle could recover from his shock. No one dared to follow them and for that he was grateful.

Neither of the boys spoke as they walked home, both lost in their own thoughts as they considered what to say next. Yuuri  could feel his phone buzzing in his pocket, likely from Murata wondering why he hadn’t shown up to practice. He sighed as he finally took a look and watched message after message open. Just as he thought Murata’s was at the top of the list.

M: Wolfram was taken through a portal, I’m guessing that he’s with you?

Y: Yeah can you take care of it? He needs me.

M: I’ve got it!

“What’s wrong?” Wolfram asked softly as he watched Yuuri put away his phone.

“Nothing just Murata making sure you’re with me.” He said with a encouraging smile as they walked down the street and to his home.

“I’m sorry.” He whispered as they reached the front steps, he looked down at his feet his arm wrapped around himself as he tried to make himself smaller.

Yuuri sighed once more before placing his fingers under his chin forcing the blonde to look us at him. “Don’t apologize, I don’t know how you got here but I’m sure there must be a good reason.” He said with a smile before kissing Wolfram softly. “I’m glad your here.” He added as he opened the door.

Yuuri led the way in, his eyes searching for him mom but to his surprise the home was empty.

“Is no one home?” Wolfram asked as he began taking off his damp coat.

“Yeah it seems moms out shopping.” Yuuri explained as he read the note she had left him on the table. “Are you hungry or do you want to take a bath and warm up first?”

“Bath please.” Wolfram replied as he tried his best to keep himself from shaking, unsure if he was cold or simply still on edge.

Yuuri nodded as he reached for Wolfram, his  arms wrapping around him gently as he placed a kiss on his head.

Wolfram let himself relax in his hold and finally, finally let the tension slip from his shoulders.

Before he knew what was happening Yuuri had lifted him up into his arms and began to carry him up the stairs and to his bedroom like he was a newly wed bride.

It wasn’t the first time he had carried him like this, his new found strength had become a point of pride for him after all the time he spent training with Conrad and playing baseball.

Usually Wolfram would argue against being treated like this but today he couldn’t bring himself to protest. Instead he let Yuuri carry him into his bathroom, allowed him to strip him of his wet clothing and push him into the warm embrace of the shower. One of the many things he had come to enjoy about Yuuris world.

He closed his eyes as he allowed himself to let the events of his day and his weeks at Bielefeld melt away.

He was so lost in his own thoughts that he didn’t feel Yuuri join him in the bath. Instead he felt his strong arms wrap themselves around his waist and pull his back flush against his chest. Yuuri tucked his head into the crook of the blondes neck, breathing him in.

Wolframs hand reached up to rest against his cheek, pulling Yuuri into another kiss.

Kissing Yuuri felt like coming home. It always had. The moment they had first kissed Wolfram had known that there would never be another for him.

There was no way to explain it or to describe it. In Yuuri’s arms he knew he was safe, he was free, he could be himself without the burden of the crown or kingdom on his shoulders.

Yuuri pulled away only to softly kiss his shoulder before reaching over to the soaps.

Wolfram allowed himself to be lost in Yuuri’s gentle touch. His hands cleaning him and leaving him as soft as putty. He didn’t know how long the two spent in the shower, only noticing the passage of time as the water of the shower cooled around them.

Yuuri turned off the shower, and walked out of their bath first so he could grab a large and fluffy towel to wrap around the blonde.

Once again Wolfram let himself be led to Yuuris childhood bedroom and allowed Yuuri to dress him in pyjamas that practically drowned his small figure.

“You must have some of your older cloths Yuuri.” He remarked as he looked sceptically at the dress of a teeshirt that was hanging off his shoulder.

Yuuri blushed as though he had been caught red handed, his hand scratching at the back of his neck the way he always did when he was nervous.

“I … I like seeing you like this in my clothes. You look cute.” He mumbled so shyly that Wolfram couldn’t help but roll his eyes.

“You wimp.” He remarked before gently pecking his lips.

Yuuri laughed as he got comfortable on his bed before dragging a yelping Wolfram into his lap.

He laughed harder as he felt Wolfram smack is chest before settling in his arms. His head fell against his chest with a soft thud and Yuuri couldn’t help but smile down at him, happy that he was back in his arms.

He waited a moment and then another for good measure before he tilted Wolframs chin upwards, forcing him to meet his eye.

“How was your trip to Bielefeld?” He asked cautiously, trying as best he could to keep his voice even. It was no surprise to anyone that he wasn’t the biggest fan of Waltrana but he had hoped the man would behave himself.

Wolfram shook his head softly before taking a breath and resolving to himself to confide in Yuuri.

“It was terrible.” He finally forced himself to say, almost worried how Yuuri would react.

“I thought he promised not to bring up our engagement during your visit?” Yuuri asked gently, already knowing that Wolfram wouldn’t be this upset if he’d kept to his word.

“I was a fool to believe him.” Wolfram mumbled, embarrassed that he’d trusted him at all.

“What happen?” Yuuri asked softly as he ran his fingers through Wolframs soft hair. Wolfram sighed as he considered where to begin and Yuuri patiently waited.

“He spent all month parading me around to every eligible noble in the kingdom.” He explained as he felt Yuuri tense.

“You’re joking.” The young king bit out, his annoyance getting the best of him.

“Four weeks of it Yuuri. Four weeks. Day in and day out, one charade after another, all ploys to get me to reconsider our engagement. The underlying insinuation being that I clearly can’t make up my mind on my own. Like I’m some sort of air-headed trophy!” Wolframs arms crossed as he held himself back from his own anger and frustration. All week he had spent every waking moment trying not to scream.

Yuuri’s eyes widened at his outburst, shocked that he had managed to last that long at all.

“Did you try talking to him?” Yuuri supplied only to be smacked once again.

“That was the first thing I tried you wimp! He wouldn’t listen, he kept telling me that I would come around! That I would thank him one day! Like my feelings didn’t matter at all!”

“That’s not fair, he should have heard you out. Not just gone ahead and done what he wanted to!” Yuuri agreed as he allowed Wolfram to vent.

“And then there was today!” Wolfram continued.

“Oh shit there’s more?” Yuuri asked.

“I refused to attend any more events with him and so he lied to me and told me we’re were attending a small garden party. A party that he had secretly invited every eligible noble person in the kingdom to attend!” Wolfram exclaimed as he finally allowed his rage to bubble over.

“Has he lost his damn mind?” Yuuri added.

“Yes! He must have! That’s the only explanation because there is no way my loving dotting uncle would be this- this crass!” He practically shouted.

“Annisina did have a recent idea for a device  that could read people’s thoughts.” Yuuri supplied unhelpfully only to be met with a flat glare.

“Don’t joke that’s not even the worst of it!”

“We’re still not at the bad part yet?” Yuuri asked jokingly only to be smacked again. “Ow! You know those bony fingers of yours hurt Wolf!”

Wolfram happily ignored him, intent of carrying on. “So I’m at the event and all of a sudden some of my old friends arrive and here I am thinking maybe the night would be saved. But no, instead they begin to ask me if I’m in my right mind or if I’m marrying you because it’s my duty to do so or worst of all because its advantageous for my brothers political aspirations!”

Yuuri’s eyed widened and then narrowed in anger. The very idea that Wolfram would ever lower himself to such a degree, would allow himself to be used was sickening. How could anyone ever thinks such a thing.

“And then there was Hadrian! Just storming in and throwing a tantrum! I rejected him years ago! Long before you even became king! I told him back when we were in the academy that I didn’t feel anything for him! How dare he just assume that I was wrong, as though he knows me better then I know myself?!” Wolfram ranted

“Hadrian von Grant?” Yuuri asked, his voice tight as jealousy coiled through the young kings chest.

“Yes you wimp, keep up!” Wolfram exclaimed. “And then to make matters worse he kissed me!”

“He did what!?” Yuuri demanded, the demon inside of him practically screaming for him to hunt the man down in an instance.

“Yeah! And then he had that audacity to expect that I would somehow just bam! Fall in love with him? See the error of my ways and marry him instead? Like my feelings are that fickle!?” Wolfram could feel himself dig his nails into his arms, using the pain to ground him through is anger.

“What happen next?” Yuuri asked evenly, ready to hunt the man down if this escalated any further.

“What do you think?! I told him I felt nothing. He apologized and ran off to lick his wounds and I…I cracked.” He whispered the end of his sentence before continuing. “I was crying and I wished I was with you. I guess Shinou heard me.” Wolfram explained nuzzling ever closer to Yuuri’s chest.

Yuuri sighed, tightening his hold on Wolfram as he tried to figure out what he should do next.

“If he ever so much as looks at you again I might have to beat the hell out of him.” Yuuri remarked only to be smacked again.

“You will do no such thing! He’s an ass but he’s still one of my oldest friends-“

Yuuri didn’t hesitate for even a moment as he kissed Wolfram with all the fire and fury he could muster. His thumb pressed on him chin, asking him silently to open for him so he could be ravage him. Wolfram was helpless against him when he was like this, he stole his breath away. His hand on Yuuris chest gripped his shirt as he lost himself to Yuuri.

Yuuri pulled back suddenly, leaving Wolfram dazed as he looked up at him for an explanation.

“I don’t care who he is Wolfram. You are mine. He has no right to ever touch you.” Wolfram felt himself swallow at the display before nodding.

Yuuri smiled happily down at him, as though he had succeeded in getting what he wanted and there was only one thought that crossed Wolframs mind.

‘He really is a demon.’

“Yuu-chan!” The sound of Miko’s voice forced them apart instantly. Wolfram didn’t hesitate to jump off the bed, his face red.

“I’m coming mom!” Yuuri shouted back in Japanese before walking over to his desk. He rummaged through his drawer searching until he fished out one of Annisinas translation devices.

“Were you keeping one here just incase?” Wolfram remarked as he took it from him before placing it on his ear.

“Well you can never be too careful.” Yuuri added before leading the blonde downstairs.

“Oh Wolf-chan! Have you come to visit!” Miko exclaimed as she ran over and pulled the blonde into a fierce hold.

“Hello mother, I’m sorry for coming by so unexpectedly.” He apologized softly, only for Miko to pull back with a pout.

“It’s mama Wolf-chan! And your always welcome here, Yuu-chan should bring you more often!” Miko exclaimed as she pulled back to glare at he son.

“Yuu-chan why didn’t you get Wolf-chan something nicer to wear!” Miko complained with a pout. Yuuri couldn’t help but feel chastised as he laughed nervously.

“It’s fine mom, they’re comfortable.” He added in the hope that it would pacify his mother but she only huffed and pouted up at her son.

“I don’t mind them at all, they are very comfortable.” Wolfram added softly, a blush fighting its way to his face. Miko looked curiously between them before she sighed wistfully.

“Oh to be young and in love” she added before making her way to the kitchen while both boys fumbled in embarrassment as she laughed at their expense.

Both boys blushed brightly as they walked into the kitchen and began to help Miko with the groceries. They fell into an easy rhythm so quickly that Wolfram felt his worries bleed away.

It wasn’t long before the door was opening again and this time it was Shoma and Shori returning home.

“Wolfram what are you doing here?” Shoris curt voice exclaimed almost immediately as he saw the blonde and began looking around to see if his brothers or Gunter were there with him.

“It’s just me… I’m sorry for dropping in so suddenly.” Wolfram explained before Shoma smiled softly his hand reaching out and falling on Wolframs head in comfort.

“There’s no need to apologize this is your home too Wolfram.” The prince could feel his face heat as he nodded, the worry practically bleeding from him.

“Dad you didn’t happen to get a call from my-“

“Principle? Yes we’re meeting him before school starts tomorrow. He’s a very odd man.” Shoma commented offhandedly as he loosened his tie and walked over to his wife to kiss her softly. “Darling have you started cooking yet? I wouldn’t be entirely opposed to ordering a pizza.”

Miko pouted as she slapped his arm as she launched into a speech about her husbands cholesterol.

“Principle? Yuu-chan what did you do this time? Please tell me you didn’t assault another educator!” Shori demanded almost immediately as Yuuri rolled his eyes.

“I was tempted but I kept my hands to myself thank you very much.” Yuuri admitted  with pride.

“Just barely you mean.” Wolfram added with a snigger as he finished putting away the rest of the groceries with Mikos direction.

“Yuu-chan! You know you can’t just let your emotions get the better of you. You’re not a kid anymore you know.” Shori continued to lecture, his voice growing more shrill and his precious little brother continued to ignore him as he organized their fridge.

“Shori leave him be, I have half a mind to punch the man and I only spoke to him for a moment.” Shoma added only to be smacked by his wife.

“Darling you’re settling a terrible example!”Miko exclaimed as she glared up at the demon.

“All I’m saying is that I understand how he’s  feeling that’s all.” Shomas hand rose in the air as though he was begging for mercy as he wife glared up at him before shaking her head softly.

“Honestly you’re ridiculous. Now go get changed while I order that pizza for you.” Shomas grin lit up his face and Wolfram couldn’t help but notice the resemblance between the father and son. Yuuri truly was the spitting image of his father and he couldn’t help but smile as he looked around at the Shibuyas as they continued to bicker and laugh and poke fun at one another.

There was an ease to their routine that would have been so unfamiliar to the blonde once upon a time but now he couldn’t help but to realize there was a warmth in his chest and a easy smile on his face. One he hadn’t realized he had even lost during his time at Bielefeld.

And then it hit him all at once. He felt at home here.

His eyes widened as the realization hit him and before he could even get his bearing Yuuri was there in front of him his hand on his check his worried black eyes locked onto his emerald green.

Wolframs eyes softened as his own hand encompassed Yuuris on his cheek as he pulled his hand to his lips. He laid a kiss on his palm and watched as the tension fell from his kings shoulders.

They didn’t need the words to be spoken. This was more than enough to convey the love they had for each other and the peace they felt at each others side.

If the rest of the Shibuyas noticed the moment between the boys they didn’t comment, instead the night passed peacefully and before long they found themselves at the kitchen table around a couple of hot  pizzas, the conversation not dying even for a moment.

“So Wolfram how long will you be with us? Yuu-chan will be done his exams next week so you’re more then welcome to stay as long as you’d like.” Shoma asked as he turned to the blond from the head of the table.

“Oh no maybe a couple of days-“ “I was thinking a couple of weeks” both boys began at once only to look up at eachother in surprise from across the table.

“Oh dear you boys might want to get your stories straight.” Miko said with a giggle as she reached for another slice of pizza.

Wolframs eyes narrowed as his eyes locked onto Yuuris but his fiancé only grinned sheepishly in return.

“Come on Wolf I have a couple of exams left and then we could spend some time here? Relax? Maybe even go on a trip? Wouldn’t that be fun?” He pleaded his case to a less then receptive prince who took another bite of his pizza.

“You know that’s not possible Yuuri, I’m expected back-“

“To Bielefeld? I don’t think so.” The jealousy in his voice was obvious and Wolfram couldn’t help but to smirk. It was nice not being the jealous one for once.

“To covenant castle, you know the capital of our kingdom? The one that needs a king?” He chided. Leave it to their king to find new and inventive ways to shirk his royal duties.

“Oh please court doesn’t resume until fall and you know it.” He exclaimed.

“You know I have other responsibilities, a border to patrol a battalion to run?” He reminded him as he continued eating. When he didn’t hear an immediate response he looked up and locked eyes with the young king. His king smiled back at him, knowing he’d won before he even began.

“Wolf our kingdom is at peace, our borders are protected, our people are happy and as long as those uncles of yours behave themselves there’s no fear of civil unrest. It’s the perfect time for a little getaway!” Yuuri smiled with all the charisma he could muster as he watched his fiancé consider the proposition.

“And did you forget about our daughter?” Wolfram added dispite knowing he was being swayed he reached for another slice in an attempt to avoid Yuuri’s gaze. It was ridiculous how easily Yuuri could convince him to do just about anything with just one look.

“She is having a wonderful time with her friends in Cavalcade and she won’t be back for another three weeks!” Yuuri added knowing he had struck gold.

“I write to her regularly you know.” Wolfram added as he finally locked eyes with his king, giving him his full attention.

“And I don’t? She gets my letters like clock work thanks to Murrata. You know how often he’s always going back what with how busy the priestess’ keep him.”

Wolfram laughed as he thought of his eminence and his never ending tasks at Shinous temple.

Wolfram smiled as he looked back at the double black. “You know it’s not very heroic for a king to avoid his duties.”

Yuuri couldn’t help laughing as he thought back to his old obsession with hero’s. He smirked back at his fiancé, his eyes practically twinkling with mischief as he replied.

“Good thing I’m a demon.”

It was Mikos laugh that broke the boys out of their bubble. Both boys flushed red as they realized where they were. A fact that had escaped them while they were caught up in each other.

“It’s like they forgot we were here.” Shori commented in awe as Yuuri scratched the back of his head.

“Ah to be young and in love.” Shouma added  only for his wife to giggle as they teased the boys.

“I… if it’s not too much trouble I’d love to stay. I mean if that’s okay with you mom and dad?” Wolfram added politely as he looked to the elder Shibuyas.

“Oh of course you can Wolfy-chan.” Miko exclaimed as she wrapped her arms around the blonde and pulled him in for the tightest hug she could give.

Wolfram smiled as he returned her embrace before his eyes met Yuuris happy ones once again.

The young king smiled brightly back at him and all Wolfram could think was how lucky he was to have him. How thankful he was to have a home here.

“Honestly I think Yuuri has the right idea. Honey I have some vacation time saved up maybe we can take a family trip?” Shoma added as he looked back to his wife.

“Yes I love that idea darling! Maybe we can go spend a week by the sea?” Miko added as she clutched her hands her eyes practically twinkling at the idea.

“Bob is always offering to let us use his beach house dad. Maybe we should take him up on it?” Shori added between bites.

“That’s a great idea son, I’ll give him a call tomorrow and see if he has a place big enough for the five of us.” Shoma added

“Oh this is going to be so much fun, Wolfram we have to take you shopping before we go! Imagine all of the amazing outfits we can get for you!” Miko added with a devious glint in her eye that made Yuuri more than a little nervous.

“Mom we have all the clothes you got him last time remember?” Yuuri added only for his mother to glare right back at him.

“It’s mama Yuu-chan! Mama! And absolutely not those were last years fashion!” She exclaimed with a pout.

“So since Wolframs here does that mean I can bring my girlfriend?” Shori asked with a casual nonchalance that caught everyone off guard. A silence fell over the table as they waited for him to expand but instead a pregnant pause overtook them all.

“Oh! You mean one of your games!” Wolfram exclaimed.

“No! Why would I- NO She’s a real girl!” Shori flailed as Yuuri laughed openly at his bothers expense.

Wolfram looked unconvinced as Miko tried not to laugh at her oldest son.

“Are you sure?” Wolfram asked skeptically only for Yuuri to laugh even harder.

“Damn it I told you she’s real! Her names Olivia and she’s Bobs god daughter and she’s a real person!” Shori exclaimed as Shomas eyes lit up in recognition.

“Jacob and Caroline’s daughter Olivia?” Shoma asked as he wife’s eyes lit up.

“Oh my goodness! How in the world did you meet? We were friends with her parent so long ago!” Miko exclaimed happily as Shori blushed nervously.

“We met at school. She was doing a year abroad here and Bob asked me to show her around.” He explained shyly. Yuuri smirked as he elbowed his brother gently.

“Love is a good look on you Nii-san.” He joked only for Shori the blush and sputter once more.

“Yuuri don’t tease him and you are more than welcome to invite her Shori.” Shouma added softly as he reached out to squeeze his sons shoulder in support. Shori smiled back at him and nodded as Miko launched into telling them all the stories from their youth and their old friends.

The night passed by in a blur of laughter and happiness and warmth.

As the night finally came to an end Wolfram found himself walking to Yuuris room once again. This time as he crawled into his little bed he couldn’t help but to feel happy. Yuuri smiled back at him as he once again pulled the blonde into his arms. Wolfram sighed as he lay his head on Yuuris chest and finally let himself rest.

It didn’t matter that this bed was so much smaller than what he was used to or that both of them had to fit onto it like jigsaw pieces. It didn’t even matter that Yuuri was practically a tiny furnace all on his own. He was home and as he drifted off to sleep all he could do was thank Shinou for bringing him here.
