Chapter Text
Quackity had always been a control freak. Once something seemed out of his control, he would feel all itchy. So now that this projectile of a man moved in next door. He felt a little itchy again, but this time the itch grew into a burning longing for the man next door. To be frank, he didn't even have a door, but that could change very fast.
Quackity knew how passionate he was. He knew how power-hungry he was. Even after all these years of rivalry, he would still be threatened by him. Even if he was basically a zombie who had wasted his life away in limbo. Wilbur had a lot of time to think, to plot his revenge.
It excited Quackity.
He knew it was wrong but he couldn't help it. Competition keeps the economy alive after all.
So, after rotting away in his office for far too long. He decided to get out and be productive. Ignoring the threat that was Wilbur soot.
He proceeds to walk down the massive stairs in the casino. It was early in the day and the place had been almost completely empty. People gave him a small nod of approval as he walked by. He wasn't the Quackity that he used to be. He used to be silly, unserious, weak.
He grew up a better man. He was cold and serious. His country was the only thing keeping him going. With that in thought he arrived at the needle. His plan for the day was to do some inspections. He had overheard that a few employees were caught drinking on the job. He absolutely hated alcohol and the stench. The way people acted. It disgusted him. No, no, he was a clean guy for the most part. He used to smoke but that was all history.
The needle was quite busy for the hour. His eyes dart around and as he does that, this alcoholic stench attacks his nostrils. He scowls, “What the fuck..” He muttered the words out loud as he began to frantically look around. Who orders alcohol at 10 am?
He walks further into the restaurant. Guests had noticed it too. Quackity heard some of the guests complain about the smell. It made him rage inside. Who was the person causing this all? And then he saw the culprit.
He stops in his tracks immediately. He studies the man. His messy Brown hair with one white streak stood out, while his eyes stayed fixed on the vodka.
Vodka.
Bad memories.
“I see I caught your attention?” Wilbur's grin pissed him off. Quackity scowled and then proceeded to walk closer. “Get out of my restaurant Wilbur soot.” His voice was harsh. Wilbur finally took a look at the much younger man. “What? You don't like the smell? Or is it just me?” He smirked. Wilbur adjusted his position. He looked drunk.
Quackity grabbed him by the collar of his shirt. “You should shut up before I make you.” He says threatening He had never despised a man as much as Wilbur. That man was uncontrollable, insane, selfish, narcissi-
“Oh? I would like to see that Big Q.” His words were smooth and taunting. “Shut up.” Quackity grabbed him by his arm to drag him up from his seat. Wilbur was taller than him. There was no way he could actually fight him and win. But he had to try. Wilbur did comply as he stood up and stumbled towards the railing next to him. He completely ignored Quackity.
Quackity groaned in frustration as he felt Wilbur push him out of the way. “I am not having this conversation again.” He complained as he went to stand next to him. Wilbur's strong, drunk gaze. Switched between the casino and the yet-to-be-opened hotel.
“You see Big Q, I would love to work with you,” He says as his hand gripped strongly on the railings. “But I realized that I don't need you.” Wilbur his words made Quackity curious. What did he mean? For some reason, it made him upset. “Stop being vague and get to the point,” Quackity kept observing his face, following Wilbur's gaze. Even after all these years Wilbur always managed to anger him. Even if he just stood there doing nothing wrong. Quackity always had this urge.. To punch him in that smug face of him. Maybe it was his short temper or maybe the fact that he always felt like he was drawn to him, like magnets.
“I am the ying to your yang Quackity.”
The words still haunted him, but he can't help but be curious. As they say: Curiosity kills the cat. Deep in his thoughts. Quackity suddenly smells smoke. His cravings snap him back to reality. He looked at Wilbur again.
“The point, big Q,” He trails. “The point is, is that I am making something you'll never compete with,” Wilbur stated after a long drag of his cigarette. Quackity narrowed his eyes and leaned on the railings. “And that is?”
Wilbur turned to him, and with a weird dramatic gesture he spoke the following sentence: “A… Amusement Park!” Wilbur announces excitedly. “An amusement park?” Quackity asked with a mocking scoff.
“Yeah right. And that is supposed to compete with me? Look around Wilbur.” Quackity says with a scowl. “You don't even have the funds, the only thing you have is Tommy, And I don't even know why he still wants to help you.” His tone disapproving. An amusement park? Pathetic. As if Wilbur could compete with his casino. The man looks half dead, he can't even take care of himself let alone a theme park.
Wilbur his eyes harden. “You scared? Scared that I will take your crown away?” He bows down to his level. “Because you should be.” Quackity glares up at him. His eyes pierced his. “It's humiliating for you that you even think I feel in the slightest threatened.” A silence follows.
Wilbur gave him a small smile. His eyes do not leave Quackity’s. “We shall see Q.” With that, he walks away. Quackity sighs and stays, thinking about the threat. Should he feel threatened? His hands leave the railing. He could not seem weak in front of the guests and his employees. So, as soon as Wilbut had fully disappeared he made his way towards the casino again. There was a grand opening that had to be prepared. The new hotel was about to be fully opened.
Once he entered a familiar person walked up to him. Person? He wasn't exactly a person, but you get what I mean. “Hey big Q!” Slime says with a big smile. He then opened his arms, and before Quackity could say anything he got hugged. “No- no what did I tell you about doing that,” Quackity says with slight authority, but he did really appreciate his best friend. Unfortunately, his hugs were wet and slimy and ruined his suit. Slime immediately backed away. “Oh! I am sorry sir! Normally I have human flesh and bones.” Slime says in his usual tone.
“Right…” Quackity brushed the weird goo from his suit. “I actually need you for something,” He says as he begins walking again, expecting Slime to follow. They walk towards his office. The big door had a golden plate on it with the words: Quackity. “What did you need me for Quackity from Las Nevadas!” Slime asked as they entered the office, and they both took a seat.
“You know that Wilbur guy? I need you to keep an eye on him.” Slime’s expression did not change in the slightest. “Why?”
“He's being suspicious.” That was all that Quackity answered. If he got someone to keep an eye out for what Wilbur did at all times. Then maybe he could find something that shut him down. To destroy the competition.
He did feel threatened, but he would rather die than admit it.
The day of the hotel's Grand opening was finally upon them. Quackity hadn't seen Wilbur in a while. Maybe he had given up on the thought of making a dumb theme park.
Quackity smiled at the thought. He played with his necklace. It was a beautiful one. However the memories were less beautiful. He flipped it in his hand.
“Quackity?”
A Voice called out from behind the door.
“We have a visitor- Stop you can't.” The door opened and there he was. Quackity's face dropped immediately.
“What do you want Wilbur.” He says annoyed. Wilbur seemed furious . He walked over to Quackity's desk and slammed his hands on the wood.
“What is wrong with you? Sending people to spy on me?” His voice grumbled lowly. Quackity kept his face straight but he should have known that Slime wasn't the best in spying. He didn't think it was weird to do. Wilbur was a dangerous man, living next to HIS country. “I don't trust you,” Quackity says harshly. His eyes darted up to Wilbur who seemed like he wanted to kill him. “That doesn't give you the right to spy on me.”
“I thought you didn't feel threatened?” Wilbur says mockingly. He didn't blink once. “I don't-”
“Then why!” Wilbur yells. Quackity flinched at the sudden tone. His eyes grow more angry. “Because you're a dangerous and a impulsive dick.” Quackity snapped back. It was very immature, but he couldn't care less. Wilbur scoffed and pushed himself off the desk into the chair opposing Q. “You're jealous.”
Quackity shook his head. “And you are so desperate for my attention it's pathetic.” Oops… not what he meant to say. His tone was so harsh it caught Wilbur off guard, but then he let out a laugh while standing up. Not a fun laugh, a threatening one. Mocking him.
“No, you want my attention.. While I don't even think about you,” Wilbur says in a calm voice.
“And you say I'm pathetic.” Wilbur laughs. Quackity just glared at him for a moment. That was not what he wanted to hear. It was, but it also was not. “Oh don't twist my words, Wilbur,” Quackity says as he stands up angry.
“Why don't you, instead of spying on me? Just come and visit my Park? To see if I'm such a threat as you think I am.” Wilbur scoffed. His Park? He had it done already? That was impossible.
“Your Park?” Quackity asked confused. Wilbur nodded with a grin. “My Park yes, or did you already forget about our little talk last week?”
“No-”
“Of course, you didn't, now why don't you just visit me after your big Grand opening today.”
Quackity scowled. What a prick, and he never seemed to be able to out smart him. He always got under his skin. He can't seem to resist his offer. If it was a threat then he should check it out.
“Fine.”
“Good, have a nice opening. I bet it'll be spectacular.” Wilbur says before opening the door and walking straight past Foolish.
