Work Text:
Jimmy woke up slowly, smiling into his pillow as he became aware of a familiar ache in his muscles that reminded him of last night’s activities. He could hear birds chirping outside his bedroom window and Alfred, his flatmate, pottering around in the kitchen, probably cooking himself some ridiculously fancy breakfast that he would no doubt be boasting about to Jimmy the moment Jimmy dragged himself out of bed.
Jimmy rolled over onto his back, groaning as he stretched languorously and blinked his eyes open. He let his arms fall and felt his hand smack against something hard and warm, something that let out a startled grunt. With a shrill yelp, Jimmy flailed away so swiftly that he tumbled off the bed and landed in a heap on the floor.
There was a rustling sound coming from the bed, and when Jimmy raised his head to look, he found a pair of piercing grey eyes peering down at him.
Jimmy blinked and then sat up slowly, staring with wide eyes at the stunningly gorgeous man in his bed as his mind flooded with memories of last night. He remembered rubbing his face against that hairy chest, biting and sucking on that elegant pale neck, gazing into those beautiful eyes as those soft, red lips wrapped around his… Jimmy shook his head to pull himself back to the present moment, blushing as he realised that he was still sitting stark bollock naked on the floor and, judging by the smug smirk on the handsome stranger’s face, he’d definitely just seen Jimmy’s dick twitch with excitement.
“You all right?” the handsome stranger asked gently, his voice rough from sleep.
“Are you all right?” Jimmy asked in return, gesturing at the red mark on the man’s cheek from where Jimmy had slapped him. “Sorry for, uhm… I’m not used to… I don’t usually let people stay the night.”
“No harm done. Sorry I scared you.” The man leant down to offer Jimmy a hand. His eyes roamed appreciatively over Jimmy’s naked body as he pulled him back onto the bed. “I’m Thomas, by the way.”
…
Thomas turned out to be just as charming as he was handsome, and by some miracle, Jimmy’s embarrassing tumble didn’t seem to have put him off.
They were sitting close together on the bed, their legs tangled under the covers as they talked. Jimmy’s eyes kept drifting to Thomas’s lips, and he was considering leaning in for a kiss, morning breath be damned, when his bedroom door suddenly burst open.
“Jimmy! Are you o-“ Alfred froze, gaping at the intimate scene in front of him. “Oh. Sorry. I, uh, I heard a yell?”
“Wha-“ Jimmy spluttered. “Alfred, that was like twenty minutes ago!”
“I was making breakfast!”
“Oh, I see. How very comforting to know that you care more about food than your best mate’s life! I’ll remember that the next time you’re the one in mortal danger.”
“… Are you in mortal danger right now?”
“No,” Jimmy grumbled, crossing his arms over his chest. “But I could have been.”
“All right.” Alfred rolled his eyes. “I’m sorry.”
“You can apologise by making some coffee for me and Thomas.”
“Fine,” Alfred sighed and turned his attention to Thomas, who was clearly struggling to contain an amused grin. “How do you take it?”
“Splash of milk, no sugar. Thanks.”
Alfred nodded and turned to leave, closing the door unexpectedly gently behind him.
“He seems nice.”
“Eh,” Jimmy shrugged. “He has his moments. Gets on me nerves a lot, but I tolerate him because he works in a fancy restaurant and brings home amazing food almost every night.”
“And makes coffee for your hookups.”
Jimmy snorted. “That too, I suppose.” He moved to lean back on his elbows, only to wince and quickly sit back up again.
“What’s the matter?” Thomas asked with a concerned frown.
“I think I twisted my arm a bit when I fell.”
“Oh. Want me to take a look?”
Jimmy quirked an eyebrow. “Are you a doctor?”
“Nurse, actually.”
“Oh. Cool. Okay, go on then.”
A warm feeling spread in Jimmy’s chest as he watched Thomas inspect his arm with a serious expression on his face, turning it and poking it carefully with warm, gentle fingers.
“Well? What’s the diagnosis?”
“I’m really sorry, Jimmy,” said Thomas, pressing a soft kiss to Jimmy’s knuckles before looking up with a playful glint in his eyes. “I’m afraid we’re going to have to cut it off.”
“Oh dear.”
“Yeah.”
“Well,” Jimmy shrugged, “It’s a good thing I’m amphibious.”
Thomas let out a small, choked noise. “You’re what?”
Jimmy frowned, confused by the odd look on Thomas’s face. “I’m… amphibious?”
Thomas cleared his throat and leant in closer. “Oh yeah, I suppose you do look a little frog-like.”
“Wha-“ Jimmy squawked indignantly. “Excuse me?”
Thomas’s lips twitched with amusement. “You’re ambidextrous, love. Not amphibious.”
“Ah.” Jimmy scrunched his eyes shut and felt his cheeks flush with embarrassment as Thomas chuckled. “I’m really not making a good impression here, am I?”
“Oh, I wouldn’t say that,” said Thomas, smiling when Jimmy cracked an eye open. “The things you did last night were pretty impressive…”
Jimmy straightened up with a proud grin.
“For an amphibian.”
Jimmy reached behind him to grab a pillow, which Thomas promptly ripped from his hand before he could use it to whack him in the face.
They wrestled for a bit, rolling around on the bed and getting tangled up in the sheets, until Jimmy ended up on his back with his arms and legs wrapped around Thomas, both of them gasping as their hardening members brushed against each other.
“Do you really think I look like a frog?” Jimmy asked, slightly out of breath.
“A bit,” said Thomas. “A very cute frog.”
“Piss off,” Jimmy grumbled. “I’m not cute.”
“No?”
“No! I’m handsome and rugged and manly and-“ Jimmy was promptly silenced with a firm kiss, which he was quick to deepen. He pulled Thomas closer, moaning as their tongues met and Thomas ground his hips down against him.
“So,” said Jimmy when Thomas pulled back to catch his breath, slowing the movement of his hips, “does this make you a princess?”
“Huh?”
“Princesses kiss frogs, don’t they?”
“Right.” Thomas nodded. “Doesn’t seem like it worked, though.”
“What do you mean?”
“Aren’t frogs supposed to turn into a handsome prince when you kiss them? You still look the same.”
“Wow,” Jimmy huffed, a delighted smile blossoming on his face. “You are such a fucking dick.”
“Maybe I should give it another go?”
Jimmy waggled his eyebrows. “Maybe you should.”
“I think I’m gonna be sick.”
Thomas and Jimmy looked up in unison to find Alfred standing in the doorway with two steaming cups in his hands, staring in horror at Thomas’s naked backside.
Thomas scrambled to cover himself and Jimmy with the sheets, smiling apologetically at Alfred, who shot them both a murderous glare as he handed them their coffees before walking off.
“Cheers, mate!” said Jimmy, snickering when Alfred slammed the door forcefully behind him. “Have a good day at work!”
***
When Alfred came home that evening, he found Thomas and Jimmy – fully clothed, thankfully – sitting close together on the sofa, so focused on one another that they didn’t even notice Alfred, who made no effort to be quiet as he made his way over to the kitchen to unpack the dinner he’d brought home from work.
Alfred froze in the doorway to the kitchen when he heard a disturbing sound that he was sure had never come out of his best friend’s mouth before. He turned around and saw Jimmy smiling bashfully as Thomas leant in to press a kiss to his flushed cheek. Thomas murmured something in Jimmy’s ear, too low for Alfred to hear, and there was the sound again: a small, high-pitched giggle.
“What the fuck?”
Jimmy jumped, his face growing even redder as he looked up to find Alfred staring at him like he’d grown a second head. “What’s the matter with you?” he sneered.
“I…” Alfred shook his head. “I’ve just never seen you like this before. It’s freaking me out a bit.”
Jimmy rolled his eyes. “No need to make such a big deal about it.”
“Jimmy,” Alfred continued, “the last time a bloke tried to be all sweet and soppy with you, you told him that he was ‘killing your boner’ and threw him out before you’d even made it to the bedroom.”
“All right,” Jimmy hissed, squirming when Thomas let out an amused chuckle. “You’ve made your point. Now go and get the food ready!”
“Right, about that…” Alfred looked apologetically at Thomas. “I only brought enough for me and Jimmy. I’m sorry, I didn’t think you’d still be here.”
Thomas shook his head and rose from the sofa. “Don’t worry about it. I should be going anyway.”
“You don’t have to go,” said Jimmy, reaching out to grab Thomas’s hand. “I’m sure we could-“
“Jimmy, it’s getting late.” Thomas smiled and gave Jimmy’s hand a squeeze. “I’ve got work in the morning.”
Jimmy sighed. “Okay. Let me walk you to the door.”
“Aww.”
“Shut up, Alfred.”
Alfred shared an amused look with Thomas before scurrying into the kitchen to give the men some privacy.
“You’d tell me, right,” said Thomas as he buttoned up his coat, “if I was making you uncomfortable?”
Jimmy frowned. “Uncomfortable?”
“You know, with the touching and the… I just- I know I can get a bit-“
“Thomas,” Jimmy interrupted, stepping closer and pulling Thomas into his arms. “I like you, okay? A lot. And I’d really like to see you again.”
Thomas smiled shyly. “Yeah?”
“Yeah. Trust me, I’d’ve kicked you out hours ago if I didn’t.”
Thomas nodded. “I like you too, Jimmy.”
Both men moved in simultaneously for a tender kiss, losing all track of time until Alfred shouted that the food was getting cold.
They soon got distracted again, and by the time Jimmy joined Alfred in the kitchen, Alfred had finished eating and was nursing a cup of tea. “Food’s in the oven.”
“Right.” Jimmy nodded. “Thanks.”
“So,” said Alfred, looking up with a grin as Jimmy took a seat at the table, “Thomas seems-“
“Oh, for fuck’s sake,” Jimmy groaned. “Can I please just eat in peace?”
“I were only going to say that I’m happy for you, mate.”
Jimmy blinked. “Oh, uh, thanks.”
“Thomas seems really nice. I think he could be good for you.”
Jimmy made a noise of agreement, mouth too full to reply.
“Seriously,” Alfred continued, “the two of you looked so cute together when I came home, cuddled up on the sofa, giggling and-“
“All right,” Jimmy muttered.
“I would’ve taken a picture, but my hands were full, so-“
“Alfred!” Jimmy snapped.
Alfred blinked. “What?”
“Stop being so bloody soppy. You’re ruining my appetite.”
