Chapter Text
In the beginning was the Word
And the Word was with God
And the Word was God. (John 1: 1)
And then, the Word felt itself become two beings. Each made of the other, their perfect half and echo. And God smiled on them, and named one half Raphael, and the other half Muriel.
Later, God invented gender, and romance, and sexuality, in all their dizzying rainbowed arrays of flavors and varieties. And the Word, who was once one but now two, shook their heads and said "No, thank you"
What need had they for romance, when each was the other's perfect friend?
What need for sexuality, with minds and hearts that could share every wish?
What need even for gender, which could only add barriers between them?
And God smiled on her first two children, her perfect Word, and asked them if they thought they were ready to protect their siblings to come.
Muriel giggled their brightest laugh. "Stirring up trouble, Mother?"
Raphael grinned. "She does love to make things exciting around here."
And so God built a place where her Word could help to care for the newest ones She would make.
And they called that place
"Angel Day Care"
