Work Text:
The more Hubert observed her, the more entranced he became with her.
Just a sweet moment like this, Marianne in bed with him, the faint sound of crickets in the night, and nothing but peace. He reveled in being able to be like this with her, just her, his ray of moonlight.
She was just like that, a ray of light. Coming from the sky to his arms. She was so ethereal like that. Her very presence a blessing to his soul.
Like a faint breath, a whispered laugh, the slight whiff of a sweet flower. Delicate but oh so powerful.
A small kindness, a beautiful heart, a bright mind, a beautiful soul. All of those qualities and more could be used to describe Marianne von Edmund, his dear Marianne.
Like fresh cotton on the skin, like a prayer come true, like the graze of her soft skin.
Hubert could go on for years and years singing her praise. The way she could enchant every man and woman she met, with just endearment of her heart. It mystified him.
And her love, oh he must be the luckiest man alive to receive her love.
Her love was just as beautiful as her, it was boundless, bountiful, generous, kind…It was paradise.
As he observed her. Her and only her. He could only feel extreme love and pride for the person she has become over the past few years. And he swears to protect her, all of her. He swears to protect the brave woman in his arms, the teenager scared of herself she used to be, and the terrified child who had no one else to hold her.
He swears he’ll protect her. As long as he lives and breathes.
