The Phantom Incident

Summary:

This compilation is made for the sole purpose of investigating the mysterious disappearances and deaths surrounding the idols in Ensemble Square that happened within the span of a month from September 21st to October 23rd of the year 2020. The center of focus on the phenomenon is a former ES Idol Ayase Mayoi, a former ALKALOID member and an idol under the agency of Starmaker Production.

Notes:

if i have a nickle everytime i create a tatsumi centric journal fic i will get two nickles which is not a lot but it's weird that it happened twice (and both are the ones who are multi-chaptered wtf)

actually this has been in my drafts for quite a while and have written some parts of it bc i don't want good ideas to go to shit

btw even i talk like this this is a serious fic and this fic will feature 1) whatever mayoi's got going on and 2) tatsumi's descent into madness (and bonus everyone is going insane in this fic! (in a very negative way)) so uh read with caution. there are no happiness found within this fic

[UPDATE 01/26/2026]: This work has skin now! It is a skin-heavy work, but not much that could hinder readability. However, you could pick "Hide Creator's Style" if you need so or if you just don't like Work Skins. Everything else is still readable without the skin. However, with chapters with tables (yes, this fic has tables), I recommend turning the Work Skin on to better read the tables (since it has actual lines for tables).

PREFACE

This compilation is made for the sole purpose of investigating the mysterious disappearances and deaths surrounding the idols in Ensemble Square that happened within the span of a month from September 21st to October 23rd of the year 2020. The center of focus on the phenomenon is a former ES Idol Ayase Mayoi, a former ALKALOID member and an idol under the agency of Starmaker Production. Any documents pertaining to Ayase Mayoi were presumably stolen or deleted from any database, as further investigation about the details about him was proved to be futile. Seemingly, even the internet has forgotten about Ayase Mayoi, the internet archive proved to be useless when it comes to looking for the history of the existence of the idol. ALKALOID was presumed to only have three members: Amagi Hiiro, Shiratori Aira, and Kazehaya Tatsumi. It was a puzzling mystery about the absence of an idol that represents the suit of Clubs or Clover in an idol group that takes on the theme of card soldiers. It was presumed to be Ayase’s role in the group before the strange disappearance of him and his existence within our world. The higher-ups of Starmaker Production refused to release a statement to the public anything about the said person, only addressing several deaths and disappearances of idols that are suspiciously connected with Ayase Mayoi. This leads to the main problem about the case of disappearances and deaths among the ES Idols being unsolvable as Ayase Mayoi’s involvement being ignored proved to be quite significant in the cases’ progression. However, since aforementioned above, there is no evidence pertaining that even this person existed creates another slew of problems that the authorities decided not to partake on. Thus, the cases are still ongoing despite severely lacking one significant piece of evidence that is presented in this compilation.

Due to the lack of evidence of the existence of the said idol, Kazehaya Tatsumi’s journal entries are the only leading evidence of such a person to exist. In response to that, those who cared enough about this incident compiled these journal entries that are mysteriously scattered around Ensemble Square, in places that will be detailed along with the copies of the journals. Further analysis and details other than the copy of the journals will be attached in their corresponding entries. Please take note that the volunteers* are unable to secure the original copies because as soon as the photocopy was made, the journal pages disappeared right after (a detailed investigation will be written in some parts of the compilation as it’s only a puzzle piece in a greater picture). Nothing was altered from Kazehaya’s words and notes and annotations are only there to provide help for the reader. Other files are in this compilation in order to prove points or give context on what is happening in general or in specific entries. All entries are done with utmost accuracy despite human errors. Credibility and reliability is ensured within pages.

This aims to archive the only evidence that would tell the story of what was once a brilliant and talented underachiever, wiped out of existence from the memory of this world.

May those departed rest in peace.
