Chapter Text

"Do you think Keefe would have any insights?"
"If he does, they'll probably be super vague and warn us of the wrong thing" Sophie grumbled. But on the off chance, she decided to reach out to him.
Just the girl, I wanted to talk to, Keefe told her.
No time for Banter Keefe—Fintan just talked his way into the Peace Summit. I'm pretty sure he's planning to break Ruy, Gethen, and Brant out of the dungeon. In fact, I'm betting Brant and Ruy are a part of it.
Suddenly Sophie connected to another mind who was cursing along with Keefe. She then realized it was (y/n) (l/n), an elf that started to help Keefe with getting information.

Sophie thought (y/n) was...... different, she couldn't tell if it was good or bad though, she had only met them in person once, and Fitz was with her. They were beautiful, like all elves but their beauty was something ethereal, (y/n) looked to be around their late teens and early twenties by human standards. They were about 5'6 or 5'7, and with the cloak she couldn't see their body, but their hood was down and they were the prettiest elf Sophie had ever seen. (y/n) had a perfectly clear (s/c) face except for a small scar on the left of their jawline, a small button nose, and soft yet pronounced cheekbones, they also had small plump lips. Their eyes were so deep blue they looked violet, like small midnight skies, and when the light reflected off of them, it looked like stars were twinkling in their eyes. (y/n)'s hair was quite long being slightly below their waist and in a braid, their hair was a (h/c) that made their eyes pop even more. In Sophie's opinion, (y/n) looked even better than the Vackers.

Snapping out of her thoughts Sophie asked I take it that means we're guessing right?

You probably are correct being honest, all we know is that Fintan's off a mission right now—and Alvar says we've been building up towards this and it would make the world lose faith in the council, I don't have much information as I've been working on something else.

Sophie's stomach did a twist-flip move that made her really wish she hadn't eaten so much dinner.

Ugh, I'm the biggest idiot on the planet if that nightmare at the Pallidrose hideout was just a ploy to get them captured, Keefe mentally grumbled. His thoughts strayed to his burned hand, even though his skin was healed.

It was probably her cue to tell him he wasn't an idiot—but he had done some pretty idiotic things.

Then again, so had she.

If getting arrested was a part of their plan, we all played right into it. All we can do is hope we've caught our mistakes with enough time to stop them.

I'm going to Assume that you're currently at the Summit? (y/n) asked. Before Sophie could Answer Keefe said, Of course she is. She's probably right where it's most dangerous.

I am, Sophie said. And so is Edaline.

Cue more cursing from both Neverseen Members' heads. I don't see why the Council would let him willingly. I mean look what happened to Kenric I'd think they'd have the common sense to keep him out. (y/n) Stated

It wasn't their decision. Some of the other leaders wanted to hear what he had to say. And Mr.Forkle figured it was safer than letting Fintan anywhere near the cells.

I guess I can see that. But we both have a bad feeling about this Foster.

So do I. Is there anything else you two can think of that will tell us what we're dealing with?

Not much. I myself heard Alvar and Fintan debating whether or not someone was going to "deliver". So that might mean there's another person who needs to bring them something. Maybe King Dimitar?

Maybe. But he looked pretty furious when Fintan showed up.

Edaline was still rubbing Sophie's back, and Sophie tried to focus on the feeling—tried to keep her head clear so she could focus instead of panicking.

I don't think it's too late to beat this, (y/n) thought, their mind humming with a new sort of momentum. Keep your head down and your eyes open, and don't go anywhere without Sandor, Keefe stated.

Sandor's not here. Lumenaria has its own security force.

Can you trust them?

I don't know. My guard seems nice.

Nice isn't good enough. If there is another person helping Fintan it would make sense that they'd be a part of security. So don't hesitate to unleash that Foster rage on anyone who feels like a threat, okay? We'll be there as soon as I can.

You will? How?

We're still figuring that out. We don't know if either of us will be able to get inside the castle, but we're both pretty sure there's somewhere on the island we can hide.

Sophie doubted that, but she had a more pressing question. What about your babysitters?

That would be me right now, (y/n) replied, and we're already working on that. That's what we've been trying to tell you when you reached out to us. We both decided to leave the Neverseen.

Tonight.

Notes:

So I will be putting a mini author's note at the bottom of each chapter and asking a Question about kotlc!

There will also be announcements as well and before I give you the question of the chapter I have a few things to bring to your attention.

This is my first time writing a reader insert
I am still in school so I won't be able to update often
That is all so...

Question of the Chapter: Who is your favorite character in Keeper of the Lost Cities?

My Answer: Probably Tam cause of how edgy yet caring he is, I guess he reminds me of me.
