Summary:

It started with a brief lapse of judgment. Broken hearts and teenage hormones aside, Haruhi couldn’t deny that she was attracted to Kyoya Ootori. They promised to leave feelings out of it, swore not to get involved. But why is it that Kyoya is always there, always tempting to pull her down the rabbit hole?

Chapter 1: Day 1

Chapter Text

The lines on the page had progressively grown more and more blurred the longer she looked at them. Her eyes danced along the same words for hours - she knew what each individual word meant but she couldn’t focus enough to comprehend them.

Her mind was too scattered to focus on the textbook in front of her. What was normally her favorite subject (American Literature) was a bore to her now.

The entirety of Haruhi’s will and drive was gone - ripped away just as her heart had been only a week prior. She knew that she had to knock her moping off if she was going to keep her scholarship, but for once in her short life, she couldn’t bring herself to care about anything.

The entire week had gone by in a blur. Between the twins visiting for “emotional support” or so they called it, and her father skating around her like she would break at any given moment, there hadn’t been much room for her to think alone.

There was only one good thing about Tamaki’s timing; at least they were on summer break. At least she didn’t have to suffer heartbreak in the height of the semester. All she had to focus on was her summer work - and if she really needed it, she could complete it all a week before school started again.

Then she thought about it…there was only a week left until school started. Had she truly been so distracted this summer? Between impulse trips and shifts at the bed and breakfast, the months had escaped her.

Shaking her head, Haruhi tried to turn her attention back to the book. She needed to get back on track if she was going to pass her senior year at Ouran.

As she was settling into a rhythm, there was a knock on the front door. Annoyed, Haruhi slammed the book shut and got up from the couch. She swore to herself, if it were the twins, she was going to rip them a new one. All she requested was this week to do her work and gather her thoughts.

“I told you guys to leave me alone,” She snapped as she opened the door. Though, the man at the door had neither red hair or amber eyes. Instead, gray eyes behind a set of wiry frames stared back at her. Raven hair fell against his forehead, having grown long from the months away from school. His eyes grew wide as he lowered his fist from the door.

“I’m sorry to interrupt. Is this a bad time?” He asked.

Haruhi wiped the disgruntled look from her face and replaced it with a small smile. “Oh, sorry Kyoya. I thought you were the twins. Do you want to come in?” Haruhi opened the door wider, inviting him into the quaint apartment.

Kyoya shook his head, “No need. I leave for England tomorrow and wish to say goodbye before I go.” He paused to take a moment to look at Haruhi’s face. Her eyes were swollen, colored red from crying, he assumed.

She shook her head, “No, please come in. It’d be nice to have some company that wasn't the twins or my father.” Taking a step away from the entrance, she made room for him to enter her home.

Kyoya looked around the room. The kitchen, living room, and bathroom could all be reached within a few steps. It always intrigued him how a family could live in such a small place their entire lives.

Though, judging her apartment was not why he was here. Letting go of his preconceived opinions, Kyoya turned to its occupant. He noted how casual she appeared - especially now that she hadn’t had visitors in a few days.

Her hair, having grown longer since the revelation of her gender to the school, was pulled into a small bun - stray pieces sticking out from the top. A pair of aged glasses sat along the bridge of her nose, while her attire was nothing but a t-shirt and a pair of leggings. Despite how casual she appeared, Kyoya still found her beautiful…in a common girl sort of way.

She noticed his staring. “You don’t need to look at me like that.” Haruhi muttered as she crossed her arms across her chest. Kyoya rose his eyes from her outfit and raised a single brow, unsure what she was insinuating.

“I’m sorry?” He questioned.

“You’re looking at me with the same pity my father, Hikaru, and Kaoru do. If you’ve come here to try to cheer me up, I don’t need it.” Her voice rose. Not quite a yell, but nowhere near her normal, quiet demeanor.

The bespeckled teen let his lips rise into a smile. Pushing his glasses towards his eyes, he merely shook his head. “I’m not looking at you with pity, Haruhi. I know you don’t need it. In fact I was thinking about how nice you look. Even if your eyes are nearly swollen shut.” He smirked as he watched her face fall from fury to a smile.

“Thanks.” Haruhi knew she looked like a wreck. She couldn’t remember the last time she had brushed her hair or even left the couch. Beautiful wasn’t the word she would use to describe herself at this moment (though, any compliment was appreciated to boost her broken ego.)

Kyoya made his way over to the couch, pushing aside the textbooks as he sat. Patting the spot next to him, he invited her to sit with him. (Although, he didn’t appreciate how small these commoner’s couches were. Did they really all need to sit on top of each other?)

Haruhi followed his gesture and took a spot at the furthest corner, a foot of space between them. She looked up to the boy, who watched her with a subtle curiosity.

Deciding to break the uncomfortable silence that had wafted between them, Haruhi turned to the Shadow King with a strained smile. Haruhi could count the amount of times they had been left alone one one hand. Being alone in her apartment ramped up the awkwardness level ten fold.

“Are you excited to start at Oxford? I can’t believe you’re moving so far away.” She asked. She assumed that he would be going to university closer to home to keep tabs on the family business - or to America to attend to international business. Oxford wasn’t in the betting pool when it concerned the cool and collected Host.

He shrugged. “It’ll be a change. I’ve been practicing my English for the majority of the summer. I hope it’ll be enough when I get over there…the English are less forgiving of mistakes than Americans are. In America, especially amongst their elite universities, being a foreigner is considered a unique and positive trait. I don’t believe they feel the same in England.”

Haruhi nodded her head. They had told her horror stories from both sides. Luckily enough, she was hoping Harvard would treat her well when she eventually went. That was still a year in the future - she had enough time to be anxious about University (if she ever made it that far.)

Haruhi frowned as she thought of two of the most integral members of their club leaving permanently. “It’ll be weird without the two of you there every day. Hikaru and I have been trying to do everything we can to ease the transition of President and Vice President but it will never feel the same.” Especially when it concerned the budget…Haruhi was getting a headache just thinking about it.

“It didn’t feel much different when Honey and Mori left, did it? Granted Satoshi and Chika were good replacements, but surely you’ll find new recruits in this next class.” In a weird way, Kyoya was conflicted about the prospect of leaving the club. For three years, the club had been his entire life. On one hand, he was happy to leave the stress of the budget and planning behind him, but he was also going to miss the adventures and friends he had made in his time there. (He would never admit to calling them ‘friends’ though.)

Then he said something he absolutely shouldn’t have. “Will you really miss Tamaki? Especially after everything that happened?” He regretted the words the moment he said them out loud. It was too soon to call into question hers and Tamaki’s relationship, but pure curiosity came before reason. I

The younger female shifted uncomfortably on her side of the couch. Raising her eyes to meet Kyoya’s, she burned a hole of rage into his retinas. “Of course I’m going to miss him. He was a friend before he was ever my boyfriend. I don’t suddenly hate him because he broke up with me.”

Here it was…the topic she was hoping to avoid .

The Shadow King nodded his head slowly. He examined her facial expressions in an attempt to figure out what direction to go from here. When her facade of anger faltered into the hidden sadness she had been trying to disguise, Kyoya knew exactly what to say next.

“And how are you handling it?” Kyoya was not one to normally care about others feelings. There were not enough hours in a day to handle the emotions of others…but after dealing with Tamaki’s outbursts for the past week, he figured Haruhi had similar emotions.

Ones that she had been bottling up.

Haruhi rolled her eyes. She had half a mind to tell Kyoya to leave. All she wanted was a single day without people telling her that ‘it will be okay.’ With a huff, Haruhi glanced up to Kyoya, who was waiting for her response.

Throwing her hands up, Haruhi grunted. “It’s shitty, okay? I haven’t been able to focus on anything because I’m so upset. One day we’re happy and the next we’re breaking up because he’s moving away.” She paused to take a deep breath, her tears were threatening to spill. “Did you know anything about this?” If she recalled correctly, they were all hanging out as a group the day before Tamaki came over here to break up.

Kyoya nodded only once, “I did. Only the morning before though.”

Haruhi sighed, there was no doubt in her mind that Tamaki’s best friend knew of his intentions before the actual event. She couldn’t be entirely mad at Kyoya though, wouldn’t she talk about the same thing with the twins?

She felt the tears trickle down her cheeks. Bringing her hand up to her face, she wiped the tears away - hoping that Kyoya hadn’t seen them.

He had.

Impulsively, Kyoya did the only thing he could think to do. He leaned over, wrapping his arm around her pulling her tightly to his body. He couldn’t tell if this was a socially acceptable form of a hug - but Fuyumi would have his neck if he didn’t comfort the girl in front of him.

Shocked, Haruhi looked up to him, not having expected the sudden physical closeness. In the years of knowing him, he had never comforted a girl. Instead, he merely sat and offered words of reassurance… a tactic he used as a host. There was never a hug or even a pat on the back - this was uncharted territory for the both of them.

Pretending as if she weren’t in his arms, Kyoya  looked to the other side of the room. “At least he told me a decent reason for breaking off your relationship…” he trailed off to look at her. “He was afraid that you would risk everything that you are to be with him. Things were starting to become serious between the two of you and the more you spoke about the future, the more he realized that it’d be better to let you go before you gave up your dreams and ambitions.” His voice remained monotone, despite the heavy weight of the words he was telling her.

Haruhi felt herself choke back her sobs. The pressure in her throat was nearly suffocating. All she wanted was for Tamaki to be honest with her…and the fact he couldn’t tell her the real reason behind their breakup felt almost like a betrayal.

Though, the longer the two sat in silence, the longer she had to think about the words Kyoya spoke. There was truth to his statement. So caught up in her first love, Haruhi was so close to risking everything in order to stay with him. If he wanted a dainty little housewife, she was willing to change herself to fit that mold - that’s what he wanted after all.

It wasn’t healthy for either of them. She wanted to let go of every ounce that made herself her, while he supported it. How could she have been so blind to it?

“Thank you,” She whispered. Between her father and the twins, all they had to say was ‘it’ll pass with time’, or the occasional ‘we’re right here if you need it.’ Never the cold hard truth of it all. It was refreshing to hear something other than pity.

Kyoya pulled her closer to him. How was it that he hadn’t physical touch so much, but somehow, holding her, felt comfortable? Perhaps it was the fact that he knew her on a deeper level than the rest of the women he met. There was only one other time he had been so close to a woman - and it was the same woman in his arms. The Shadow King shuddered at the thought of the events that took place at the beach house a year ago.

“You have a lot going for you, Haruhi. Don’t ruin it on a man. You’re intelligent, so you’ll surely get into any school you wish. You’re determined, so naturally you’ll be the best damn lawyer Tokyo has ever seen,” he hesitated before saying the next compliment, “and you’re beautiful, so you’ll have them falling to their knees.” He turned to face her, watching as her expression softened. Recalling prior compliments from his hosting days, Kyoya couldn’t help but to mean every word he said to her.

Damn those eyes.

“Kyoya,” She wondered why he was being so kind to her. There had been enough evidence in the time she had spent with him to know that his rigid exterior was a facade - that deep down he truly did have a heart (even if it were surrounded by ice.) Though, why was it today of all days that he decided to show that good will directly to her?

A sliver of a smile edged at his lips as he met her gaze again, “I truly will miss the club, even though you guys are going to be the cause of my early demise.” He paused to gather his thoughts, “Just think of us leaving as temporary.” In truth, it was her that he was going to miss the most.

Even though he was leaving, Tamaki wouldn’t allow a day to pass without a phone call or an impromptu visit every month. Same with the twins and Zuka cousins. Haruhi, on the other hand, didn't have the means to do that. She’d be so wrapped up in her own world that she wouldn’t be able to expend the same amount of time and energy.

It was a wonder when he’d see her next.

His hand rested on her waist, his fingers drumming a steady beat against the edge of her hip as they spoke. In a surprising revelation, Haruhi didn’t want him to let go - not yet at least. “Do you think you’ll even want to stay friends after you’re gone? Pretty soon you’ll be so caught up with school and work that I would just be a blip on your monitor…same with everyone else. Why would a bunch of billionaires want to hang out with a mundane lawyer.” The tears welled up again- she wasn’t ready to grow up.

Kyoya laughed. He rested his head against hers as he tightened the hug. “Now you’re just being dramatic. You’re our glue, Haruhi. Some may think that it’s Tamaki, but only the observant would know that it’s you.” He looked down, noting the handkerchief sticking out of his side pocket. Pulling it out he handed it to Haruhi to dry her tears.

Once she dried her tears, Haruhi handed back the piece of fabric to Kyoya, frowning with embarrassment. “Sorry, I’ve been feeling really emotional lately. It really isn’t like me.” She pushed the strands of hair out of her eyes, only for one stubborn strand to fall back down.

Leaning forward, Kyoya moved the strand back into place behind her ear. Though, instead of pulling away, his hand rested firmly against her cheek. “You’re allowed to be emotional, Haruhi. It’s common when someone is upset. You don’t have a reason to be embarrassed.” At this point he was being hypocritical…wasn’t it the Ootori family that prided themselves on being stone cold and emotionless?

Pull your hand away, idiot. He thought to himself, but his hand stuck to her cheek like glue. No matter the will power he summoned, he couldn’t help but stay close to her. Or if you’re not going to pull away, at least make a move. The other side of his mind thought.

Haruhi was single now - Tamaki had made sure of that. Would it be a crime to kiss her? Surely it might be a prick move, but how long had he waited to get the opportunity to be with her like this? Another thought crossed his mind; how would she feel if he kissed her? Here she was, pouring her heart out about her ex. Any other time a host had been intimate with her, even as a joke, she pushed them away with anger. Why would he be any different?

Just another inch forward and he’d be in the danger zone…too close to back out. Just another inch-

It was Haruhi who made the decision for him. She pushed herself forward, closing the distance between their lips. Though, as sudden as it had started, she was already pulling away. Her face, stained red, was instantly covered by her hands as he sat, mouth agape with shock.

“Kyoya, I’m so sorry. You were just saying all these nice things and I wasn’t thinking. I’m so-“ Haruhi’s frantic lament was cut off by Kyoya, who pulled her back in with a greater force than before.

The pair peppered gentle kisses on each other’s lips. Slow pecks on soft lips as they caught a feel for how the other felt. Eventually, when the sudden tension faded away, the pecks deepened. Kyoya pulled Haruhi to his lap, allowing her to straddle him without breaking from the kiss.

Her hands found their way to his hair. Raven strands wrapped around her fingers, it’s all she could do to bring the man closer than he already was. Kyoya, on the other hand, let his hands fall to her hips. He pushed downward, bringing her body crashing into his.

A quiet moan escaped her lips. She had never been kissed with so much passion. For a brief moment she thought of Tamaki, whose kisses felt like butterflies compared to this. Kyoya kissed her as if he needed every ounce of her. In the same regard, she wanted him too. Every touch sent shocks around her body, making her warm with just the brush of his finger tips against her skin.

The kisses slowly trailed down her neck. His lips brushed up against her skin, he didn’t forget a single inch.

Kyoya wanted to pull away. He desperately needed stop this and leave the apartment. What would people say about them if they ever found out? He could name a few comments off the top of his head, “Oh, she’s only into billionaires, typical commoner,” or “He betrayed the heir to the Suoh family. Only a third son would do something so low.” The words became venom in his mind, he couldn’t take his thoughts away from the fact that this entire display was taboo.

But for a few minutes, he decided to worry about it later.

For now, with Haruhi’s hips against his lap and her hands tangled in his hair, he couldn’t think of anything else besides the woman on top of him.

Then a red headed man impeded his thoughts. A man that he had become more afraid of than his own father at times. Momentarily breaking from the kiss, Kyoya pushed her away, his hand resting firmly on her shoulders.

“Where’s Ranka?” He asked, noting her fathers absence from the apartment. Haruhi grinned and cast her gaze to the clock above the front door.

“He’s working at the bar right now, it should be a few hours before he comes back.” Kyoya leaned backwards, now fully relaxed. If Ranka had found his perfect daughter in this situation, Kyoya’s head would be on a spike before sundown. The Shadow King took this moment to study the girl on top of him. Her lips, puffy and red, from the force of their kisses. Strands of hair stuck out precariously, her bun nearly falling from its clips.

There were a thousand outcomes that could have happened with his visit here. Honestly, his plan for his last day in Tokyo was to make his rounds and bid farewell to the people who made his high school career memorable.

Making out with Haruhi was not one of his foreseeable outcomes.

Their eyes locked upon each other. For the few silent moments, they stared, as if they were tempting each other to go back in. Though, if they crossed that line, there would be no going back.

“Haruhi, I don’t want to go further if it’s not something you’re comfortable with.” He thought about the guilt that would hang over his head if he pushed her too far. As badly as he wanted her, mentally he knew that this was only a form of revenge for his blonde best friend. This was nothing more than a rebound for the brunette - spurred by the need to have someone want her.

Dating Tamaki she would have been accustomed to having someone continuously love and cherish her whenever she needed. Surely it’d feel lonely to have that end so abruptly.

Haruhi shook her head, “Kyoya. I’m really sorry. I don’t know what’s come over me. I shouldn’t have put you in this position.” Great, now she’s backpedaling. If this was how it was going to be, he might as well humor himself.

“It’s fine, Haruhi. Do you know how many men would die to be in this situation?” He let out a deep chuckle, “Count me surprised by your actions. I never expected this from you. Was this common between you and Tamaki?” Judging by her comfortability with it, he would assume what the answer was. Though, he never expected it from Tamaki.

He seemed to be more of a “wait till marriage” kind of guy.

Though, Kyoya was proven wrong before.

“Leave two teenagers in love in a room alone for longer than an hour and things tend to happen, Kyoya. I’m pretty straight laced but I’m also human - I have raging teenage hormones just like the rest of you.” Haruhi rocked nervously upon Kyoya’s lap, earning a subtle sigh from his lips.

If this isn’t going to go further, she needs to get off. I can’t handle it.

Kyoya had been in a similar position only once before - a trial run with the daughter of his father’s business partner. Afterwards, the two decided to part ways, realizing that the attraction wasn’t mutual for either of them.

Reverting his attention back to the girl, he attempted to focus on anything besides the heat on his lap. “Th-that you are.” He muttered, unable to push out more than a few syllables.

She felt him harden beneath her. Haruhi wasn’t sure where to move from here. Calling it off right now could get them both off Scott free. They could move past this and never speak of it again. But the heat between her legs threatened to force all her inhibitions aside.

Would it be wrong to be selfish right now?

“Haruhi,” Kyoya pulled her thoughts back down to earth. Coming to reality, Haruhi took one look at the boy below her and made her decision. His messy hair and glasses hardly staying on his face, Kyoya, for the first time since she had known him, was completely defenseless to her.

His eyes burned holes into her, watching her with need and desire.

Pulling him back into her, Haruhi solidified her decision to move forward.

Kyoya leaned forward, his hands wrapped around her back, drawing her in for a deeper kiss than before.

Her hands found their way to the buttons of his collared shirt, she attempted to unclasped each one without breaking away. It was only when she reached the middle of his shirt that Kyoya let go of her to finish the job.  With the shirt undone, Haruhi ran her hands over his bare skin.

In turn, Kyoya pushed the ratty sweater upwards. The palms of his hands found their way to her breasts, which were conveniently uncovered under the bulk of the fabric. Running his thumbs over her exposed nipples, he realized, in that moment, how much of a woman she had become of the years. The Ouran uniform did nothing for her form.

Haruhi groaned between broken kisses. A tension built within her stomach, a heat that she had long since felt. Grinding her hips into his, Kyoya let out the same reaction as her.

Making quick haste, Kyoya moved his hands from her breasts and down to the waistline of her leggings. Breaking away, he looked at her one last time - his fingers dancing hesitantly under the band. “Are you sure about this?” He questioned, making sure she knew that she could back out at any moment.

“Please, Kyoya.” She whispered.

He wasted no time with her pants. Kyoya pushed her off his lap. He rested her body against the couch and pulled the pants down her legs. Throwing them to the side, Kyoya looked at the only fabric left on the lower half of her body. A pair of white panties, dotted with pink flowers. He smiled to himself, even the underwear she wore was cute.

Keeping his eyes on the fabric, he made quick work with the buckle of his belt. Throwing his black slacks in the same direction of her leggings, he was left with nothing but his dress shirt and boxers.

To get the attention away from her, Haruhi leaned forward. She reached out and rubbed her palm against the bulge in his black boxers. She was embarrassed at her underwear choices for the day…if she had known this was coming, she would have worn something cuter.

Throwing his head up, Kyoya moaned. Her hand clasped around him as she rubbed it back and forth. He couldn’t recall a single moment in his life that he had felt so frustrated. He desperately needed relief.

Having nothing to hold onto, Kyoya’s hands found their way to her hair. Looking back down, he pulled her into another kiss. As he kissed her, he slowly pushed her back to the couch, spreading her legs with his own.

Kyoya let one hand leave her hair. Trailing it down her body, he found his way to the pink flowers. Rubbing his thumb against her clothed clit, he was pleasantly surprised by how wet she had become. The fabric was already drenched.

She gasped. Haruhi’s hands found their way to the throw pillow. Her fingers clutched the pillow, her knuckles turning whiter the longer he caressed her.

When he felt that she was ready, he peeled the underwear away. Removing his hands from her, he pushed his boxers down. Haruhi looked up, capturing the picture of Kyoya’s cock now in full display. The tip, beat red and dripping, stood straight up - full evidence of his arousal.

Haruhi leaned back, nervously spreading her legs open for him.

Kyoya took this as the final approval to move forward.

His hand found its way to his cock. He moved his hands across it a few times, spreading the precum across it to wet it. Once he was ready, he positioned himself over her. One arm rested above her while the other slowly guided his cock to her.

He pushed forward - his eyes resting on her face as it contorted with pleasure.

With a smirk, Kyoya moved his hips. He thrust himself inside her slowly, and when he got her moans of approval, he sped up the pace.

Haruhi lifted her hips, allowing Kyoya to bury himself deeper into her. Her fingers left the pillow and found their way to his back. Gripping onto bare skin, she pulled his chest closer to hers. Heavy breaths and moans sounded in her ear as he drove himself into her core.

He pressed his thumb to her clit. He made circles against her, driving her over the edge.

Kyoya rose his eyes to the ceiling. His thoughts completely scattered as he let pleasure take over his composure. I can’t keep going much longer . He thought as his cock buried into her.

“Kyoya, I’m going to cum.” She moaned. He pressed her clit harder, rubbing the circles aggressively into her. Good, I just have to get her to cum before I -

Thoughts were interrupted when Haruhi let out the most pleasing moan he’d ever heard. She curled beneath him as she shoved her face into the pillow. Kyoya let his pent up aggression go, releasing himself into her.

He stayed there for a moment, letting himself come back to his senses. Once he leveled his mind, he pulled out. Haruhi gasped at the absence of his cock within her…but the lingering euphoria from her orgasm quickly replaced the feeling.

In the clarity of his release, Kyoya glanced at the naked girl on the couch. He averted his eyes away from her as the realization of what had happened hit him. How would they go from here?

Pushing himself from the couch, Kyoya gathered his discarded clothing from the ground. He stayed silent as he dressed himself, his gaze steering clear from Haruhi - who had started to follow his lead in getting dressed.

“Kyoya,” she said, her voice filled with concern for his silence.

The Shadow King shook his head in response. “Haruhi, give me a moment.”  His tone was stern, but even Haruhi could hear the shakiness in his voice.

Haruhi took a step back to slide the leggings over her legs. All she wanted was to reach out and assure him that things would be okay, that they could forget that this had ever happened…but even she wasn’t so sure.

Kyoya pulled out his phone and stared at the time. Family dinner would be starting soon, it would be an unwise decision to miss it, especially since it was the last one before he left the country.

He turned back to her. Haruhi noted how disheveled he appeared. His hair stuck out in odd places and the usually pressed shirt was now littered in wrinkles. A faint blush spread across his cheeks - presumably from the workout he had just endured.

“We can’t ever speak of this. No one can know, Haruhi. Not even the twins. Not even your commoner friends. I can’t have this coming back to me.” His sweet talk from before was now replaced by a stern, monotone inflection.

“Kyoya.” She brought his attention back to reality, “Please don’t worry about me telling anyone. Do you know how bad it would look if this got out? This was fun, thank you for cheering me up, but I can’t be called names because of an impulsive decision.” If discretion was all he was worried about, he would have her word to take it to her grave. She could only imagine the profanities she would be called if this got out - she couldn’t start off on the wrong foot amongst her rich classmates.

With raised brows, Kyoya met her eyes finally. “You’re okay with keeping this secret between us?” He wasn’t sure why he was so surprised. He didn’t know Haruhi to be a gossip, but he couldn’t be too careful.

The brunette nodded, “As long as we can move past this, I don’t see why we can’t bury this in the dirt and pretend it didn’t happen.” Kyoya watched as her eyes grew wide…the same ones that had belonged to the girl he knew, and not the girl that had just been under him.

With a gentle smile, he bobbed his head in agreement. “Yeah, I think we can do that.” He paused to look at the time on his phone again, “I should really get going. I’ll see you soon, Haruhi. Please don’t screw up my club.” He reached over, running his hands over the top of her head before heading out the door.

Now alone in the apartment, Haruhi fell onto the couch. Leaning her head against the back of it, she let out a long sigh. It was hard to wrap her head around the events that just occurred. Oddly enough, it didn’t feel as if she and Kyoya had just hooked up. As quickly as it had started, it was ending…a secret they were both going to take to their grave.

Haruhi laughed to herself. How stupid was she? Blaming it on the heartbreak, Haruhi couldn’t help but feel bad about her decision. No one deserved to be used as a rebound…but Kyoya didn’t seem to mind. In fact, he almost appeared as if he preferred it.

There were no feelings shared between them. Perhaps a mutual physical attraction, but emotions weren’t linked to their indescretion. For now, she could leave this in the back of her mind, never to speak of it again.

Though…if she were being honest to herself, she revisit the thoughts from time to time
