Yoongi really took it to heart when Namjoon admitted “There’s just something hot about fat guys..” Fat. Yoongi could be that for his roommate. He could be fat.
Yoongi always knew about Namjoon’s… preference? Preference works best. Ever since they met in middle school discussing celebrity crushes. Yoongi found it strange when Namjoon finally said Shindong after an hour of Yoongi begging him to confess. Shindong? Really? Out of all the members of Super Junior, he liked the DUFF? Odd.
Things got weirder a few years after they moved in together. Yoongi was borrowing Namjoon’s tablet while his laptop was being repaired and noticed Tumblr in his recently used apps. Slightly amused, he clicked on his profile to be met with the type of art Namjoon made in his free time. None of it was straight-up porn, but it was certainly questionable. Every one of the posts featured tags that were cruel at first glance, but had erotic undertones that made Yoongi ever so slightly uncomfortable. For everyone's sake, he decided he would never mention this to his dongsaeng.
Until he walked in on him jerking off to belly fucking.
“OH MY FUCK GET OUT” Namjoon nearly screeched, reaching to pull up the waistband of his less-than-clean sweatpants. For a split second, Yoongi caught a glimpse of the content on Namjoon’s monitor before he rushed to close the tab. A guy grinding his dick into the fold of another’s overhang.
Oh.
There was no way around it. Yoongi and Namjoon needed to have a talk.
After a few minutes of silence as they sat on the younger’s bed, Namjoon took a deep breath. “Ugh, okay,” he sighed, knees to his chest as his head hung between them, his arms crossed over his face trying but failing to conceal how ashamed of himself he was. “There’s just something hot about fat guys..”
“Joonie.. you know there’s nothing you could do to make me judge you, you know that right?” Yoongi said sympathetically as he rubbed his friend’s arm. “I really couldn’t care less. You're my best friend for the rest of my life.”
Yoongi was being genuine, of course. Except for not caring. He did care, but not in the way Namjoon had feared. Perhaps he had figured out how to finally solidify that slight romantic tension his decade-long friendship had into something real, something tangible.
It was also the perfect opportunity for Yoongi to try to get over some of his body image issues. Well, it wouldn’t be that easy. Of course he would have some residual self-perception problems, but knowing Namjoon liked the quality he dreaded in himself made it easier to reconsider his mentality. The main reason he was so self-conscious of his body in the first place was that he wanted to be perceived as desirable. He didn’t have to scrutinize everything about himself anymore. He was finally free.
He thought he was at least. But he soon realized some of his disordered habits returned, but augmented to fit the situation and to not be so taxing on his mental health. He still actively thought about how much he was eating, but he didn’t beat himself up for it. He still would stare at his reflection for longer than anyone should, but now with a sense of pride instead of dissatisfaction. He was still fixated on his roommate’s opinion of him, but now with hopefulness instead of fear and doubt. Is it really disordered if he was enjoying himself more than ever?
Either way, he was liking the changes he saw in himself, and he had a feeling Namjoon did too. Even if his dongsaeng wasn’t interested, he had no reason to stop. He started to notice his already round face getting a little rounder, softer. Once while they were taking a train ride, the older had fallen asleep leaning against the window, prompting Namjoon to comment on how his cheeks shook with every bump and vibration. Yoongi couldn’t help but blush.
His face wasn’t the only thing getting rounder. Even in his baggiest t-shirts, he could feel the distinct sensation of the fabric grazing his belly with every little movement. Whenever he sat down, his belly settled comfortably on his equally juicy thighs, his stomach digging into the edge of their wooden dining table whenever he leaned forward to reach across it. Reaching down had become more strenuous, which is probably why Namjoon just stared at Yoongi the time he dropped his phone.
“Hey, could you grab the S Pen for me? My phone landed on the corner and it popped out,” Yoongi requested as he picked himself back up after grabbing his Galaxy.
After a short moment of ogling, Namjoon finally responded. “Huh? Oh, sure, hyung.” He quickly grabbed the small stylus and handed it to Yoongi’s somewhat chubby hand.
“What are you so distracted with anyway?” The older playfully questioned, his tone intentionally accusatory.
“Uhm.. nothing.”
“Right,” Yoongi deadpanned as he grabbed a water cup and went back to his desk. Namjoon is so cute when he’s embarrassed.
Yoongi had only started doing more “shows” for the younger. On the occasion they went out to eat, Yoongi made sure he ordered a little bit more than he could handle, just for the opportunity to lean back and groan about how full he felt as he rubbed his tummy. On their free days to just sit around and watch TV, Yoongi intentionally wore some of his tighter loungewear. On commercial breaks, it was amusing to see Namjoon zoned out, staring past his phone at Yoongi’s body.
“What are you looking at?” Yoongi grinned, staring into the younger’s eyes.
“Oh, um.. you have a stain on your shirt,” Namjoon bluntly replied, darting his eyes back to his Instagram feed.
“Oh yeah, this one isn’t coming out. I’ve tried to spray-and-wash it like 5 times,” Yoongi complained as he scratched at the stain, causing his belly to bounce a bit. He noticed Namjoon taking a peek, which gave him an idea.
“I think it also shrunk, it’s never felt this tight before.” Yoongi pulled the shirt down more than it already was and examined Namjoon’s reaction; slightly tense. This is the first time Yoongi had ever acknowledged anything to do with his weight gain, of course his dongsaeng is slightly tense. Why not turn it up a notch?
“Or maybe I’m just fat.”
Yoongi tried his best to contain his amusement as Namjoon struggled to find something to say that wasn’t self-indulgent or in denial.
“I mean.. probably, but you aren’t really that big,” Namjoon stated, trying to keep his eyes to himself.
“My BMI is right at the point of obesity, I’m fat.” Yoongi turned his head to look at the younger, his matter-of-fact voice carrying the aftertaste of self-pity.
“Really?” Namjoon questioned, unsure of what his hyung told him.
“I was surprised as you are,” Yoongi chuckled as he turned back to their show.
“Huh.”
Namjoon had a lot on his mind.
