For a brief moment—for a brief moment Zuko gawked at the sudden appearance of a ball of water rising to meet the fireball that he sent after the flying cow in hopes of stopping the Avatar from fleeing.
“They have a Waterbender,” Zuko muttered, contemplating who this might be, noting that the young warrior who greeted him, who challenged him, didn’t utilize Waterbending in their fight, nor did any of the villagers, “So where did it come from.”
“Ah,” Iroh said, lips pushed together, not at all bothered as usual, and without hesitation, followed up with, “That is the question isn’t it, but she intrigues you, doesn’t she?” causing Zuko to turn his head in confusion, wondering where the observation came from, but then—his uncle Iroh was known as the Dragon at the West and did surprise at times.
