Work Text:
Back in her chambers in the Roemian palace, surrounded by maids preparing her for that night’s banquet, Maxi tried to compose herself. She'd spent so much of the day on a razor's edge that once Riftan had won the tournament and sworn his geas to her, and she had leaned in to kiss him... everything else, the cheers, the throng of well-wishers, they all blurred together in her mind.
Though her mind did recall some of the carriage ride back… how Riftan had pulled her directly onto his lap and proceeded to cover her neck in kisses with a level of passion she’d come to expect, and yet, still never felt quite prepared for.
If she hadn’t stopped him, fearful of the curtains falling open, she was sure he would have been more than happy to continue. But though her bashfulness had subsided somewhat in recent years, she couldn’t quite allow them to pass into that level of debauchery.
Well, at least not yet…
She shivered, even as a maid dusted her face with powder, thinking of what she hoped was coming that night. When Riftan had parted from her at the door to this very room, he’d promised to come fetch her, so they could enter the celebratory banquet together. He’d leaned in and whispered into her ear that he planned for them to attend for the barest minimum of what was acceptable. She’d smiled up at him, her face flushed from excitement, the tumult of residual anxiety and worry for him that had filled her for weeks finally drifting away.
Yet her heart was still pounding all the more for the pure joy she’d felt, the electric shock that had run through her when Riftan had strode toward her and bent his knee…
He’d really done that, in front of everyone.
And moreover… It was over. The wars, the politics, it was all over, and finally, finally, they were going home.
It felt like her heart couldn’t contain it.
“There, my lady, finished!” The maid who had been applying the powder leaned back with a happy smile, and held out a mirror for her to study her reflection.
She couldn’t stop herself from seeing flaws, things she didn’t like, her too large eyes, too small nose, all the things that a lifetime of insecurities had beaten into her. And yet… she couldn’t stop smiling. She did look well, flushed and happy, the worry that had clouded her face for months fading away after weeks of good weather and food.
With a deep breath, she smiled back at the maid, and nodded. She was ready. Tonight, she would do her best to calm her racing heart and act as the poised, serene lady she’d always wished to be. One last performance, and she’d be able to head back home again, be able to relax and be at peace. She didn’t think she’d ever truly be comfortable in these kinds of places, on display to be stared at and wondered over. But then… that was something she shared with Riftan.
And like today, when he had sworn his oath to her… if he were there for her, if it was with him, she would go through it time and time again. She would do anything to be by his side, no matter where.
There was a knock at the door.
“Maxi, it’s me. Are you ready?”
“Yes!” she called out excitedly, and before the maids could even move toward the door, Riftan opened it himself and entered.
So many years into their marriage, and he still had the ability to take her breath away. He was dressed in his usual black, though on closer inspection his tunic had fine detailing of gold thread throughout, and draped over his shoulders was a royal blue cape, reminiscent of the Remdragon cloak. He’d arranged his hair so it was pushed back from his face, allowing her to admire the full beauty of his high forehead and sharp jaw.
Her hands itched to cup his face, wrap themselves around him and pull him in for a kiss, but instead she quickly clasped them together.
“H-How do I look?” she asked, hoping for praise, and given how he was looking at her, with the usual longing in his eyes and soft smile on his lips, expecting to get it.
“Beautiful.” He took that opportunity to cross the room and pull her hands into his, helping her stand. With a frown, he added, “Though I miss your freckles…”
The maids in the room let out little laughs, eyeing them, but Maxi found for once she didn’t care. They would be leaving here soon, in any case.
“Shall we, Lady Calypse?” Proffering his arm to her with a mischievous smile, she giggled before taking it, knowing he was putting on a show for the maids behind them.
“Yes, Sir Calypse.”
He led her into the hall, and they made their way toward the banquet hall. Halfway there, Maxi suddenly had a thought, and she found herself blurting it out.
“You know… this is the first time we’ve entered a room together.”
He frowned down at her briefly, before turning back. “Surely not.”
“W-Well, not like this…”
He opened and closed his mouth, seeming to think better of whatever he was going to say.
They continued on, and when they reached the entrance to the banquet hall, Riftan finally answered.
“You’re right. It is something I’ve long dreamed of, though.”
Maxi’s eyes went wide at his words. As she stared up at his calm face, the guards at the large oaken doors swung them open. She had no time to formulate a coherent reply before the entire gathered assembly turned to look at them. Frozen in place from the sudden attention, she only managed to enter without tripping because of Riftan’s comforting grip on her arm.
—
As with every banquet she’d attended, Maxi soon felt overwhelmed by the attention, from both those who stayed back and simply stared, to the surprising number of near strangers who’d come up to congratulate them. She’d felt her face flush right away, and only grow hotter as the night went on, making her feel beyond grateful for the powder on her face that hopefully hid some of her embarrassment.
Just when she was about to ask Riftan if they could take a seat for a moment, a familiar figure approached.
“Lady Calypse, you look lovely as always,” Sir Sejuleu said once he was right before them, and before she could respond, with his usual poise, he took her hand and raised it to his lips.
“I thought I warned you, Aren,” Riftan hissed, taking Maxi’s elbow and pulling it back just enough that Sejuleu had to release her.
“I see no reason to forget my manners merely because you have none, Sir Riftan. Besides, you’ve pledged yourself to her, so would you not say I am paying my respects to both of you?”
“That doesn’t mean you can just do what you damn well-”
“We are grateful as ever for your support, Sir Sejuleu,” Maxi said quickly, sending a bright smile up at him, which he responded to in kind.
“I pray your esteem for me hasn’t fallen too much after witnessing my defeat at your husband’s hands, but I can honestly say that his ultimate victory and pledge to you warmed my heart enough to assuage any disappointment I felt.”
“Oh, not at all! You fought very gallantly!”
“If I had had your favor,” Sejuleu said, an extra air of cheekiness coming to his face, “perhaps I would have won, but alas, that is never to be.”
Seeing Riftan angrily open his mouth, Maxi hastily cut in again.
“Yes, that is true.” Linking her arm through Riftan’s and pulling him close, she added, “He will always have my favor, in every endeavor he undertakes.”
After a beat, Sejuleu laughed, and patted Riftan on the other arm. “See, old chap? What need have you to be jealous, in the face of such pure and artless devotion?”
With some final growls from Riftan and blushes from Maxi, Sejuleu took his leave, heading back towards the Livadon contingent.
“You did that on purpose,” Riftan said with a huff.
Holding on tighter to his arm, Maxi laughed, a little awkwardly, torn between her usual tinge of annoyance at his jealousy and how endearingly childish he looked at the moment.
She was spared further discussion by an approaching group of nobles, this set less welcome by half. Maxi felt a shiver run up her spine as the entire Wedon Royal Family approached them from across the room. She was surprised to feel that even Riftan tensed up beside her.
“Well done, Sir Riftan. An impressive display, as always,” the king said, in his usual bored, irreverent manner, perfectly attuned to set Maxi on edge.
Meanwhile, Agnes had separated herself from the group and came right up to Maxi.
“Congratulations, Maximilian! A geas, in such a setting no less! If anything, that was the more surprising spectacle today! Riftan winning was practically a guarantee, but this?” she said, ending with a laugh and a shake of her head.
“I’d been meaning to do it for some time, Your Highness. It seemed the perfect moment.” Riftan eyed her and the rest of the royal family with some wariness, his words careful.
“And it was! Ah, the bards will sing of it for ages, I’m sure.”
Maxi grew troubled, thinking about the prospect – would they be as embarrassing as the last song about her?
At that moment, Maxi was surprised to hear Rosetta’s cool, clear voice directed at them.
“I’m sure my sister will eventually grow as tired with the geas ceremony as I have.”
Almost flinching, Maxi somehow kept herself from showing her discomfort at her sister’s voice. No matter how she’d come to understand her sister better, she still somehow felt a faint echo of her old feelings of inadequacy in her presence, even on a day like today.
“I’m sure receiving one from her husband will forever stand out in her mind, my dear,” a young man who looked strikingly like Agnes – and therefore must be the crown prince – added, leveling a smirk back at Rosetta.
“I suppose. That is certainly something I will never experience.”
“True, true. Perhaps not being an expression of my devotion is why the ceremony lacks luster for you now?”
While Maxi stood uneasily watching the awkwardness that surrounded Rosetta and Elias, Agnes took her hands.
“I am so happy for you both. I know you are eager to head home, but you must come to the capital soon! And do write me of your research – Anatol is sure to attract more mages as word of your success spreads.”
“Y-Yes, Your High-Agnes. I will. Though coming to the capital…”
“I know, I know, that is partially in this fellow’s hands. But some day, you must visit again! And this time…” Agnes’s perpetually cheery face almost fell for a second, before she quickly regained her composure. “...I’ll be sure to show you the library! I’ve recently acquired some new books from the Southern Continent.”
“I’d be glad to see them.” Maxi gave her a weak smile, feeling the weight of what had been left unsaid. She still felt awkward around the princess, and the prospect of visiting the capital was rather dreadful, but she did want to part with her on good terms.
The royal family then took their leave, after a few more pleas from Agnes for them to stay in touch. Once more, Maxi considered asking Riftan to take her somewhere they could sit down, the encounter with so many royals draining her of what little strength she had left. She couldn't even find the energy to dwell too much on her sister and the crown prince’s behavior – though he acted too irreverent to fit Rosetta’s tastes, he hadn’t seemed so difficult as to warrant alarm. Could he perhaps be cruel behind the scenes? While she was turning this over in her mind, they were greeted by another familiar figure.
“Captain!” Hebaron called out as he sauntered towards them, his hair and clothes thoroughly disheveled to the point that Maxi could only stare in shock. Unperturbed by Maxi’s dumb stare and Riftan’s annoyed one, Hebaron continued once he was beside them, shaking his head.
“As tight-lipped as always. If only you had let me know what your plans were, I would have tried to make it!”
“Your attendance was unnecessary.”
Throwing on a look of mock sadness, Hebaron said, “Ah, you wound me, Captain! Sir Triton was surely never so cruel to you when you were his second-in-command.” He then turned towards Maxi, all pretense of sadness gone. “Congratulations, my lady. While I was sorry to miss such an important moment for you both, I heard nearly all the Seven Kingdoms were in attendance, so I hope my presence was not terribly missed.”
Having finally regained her composure, Maxi eyed Hebaron’s wrinkled tunic, several days unshaven jaw, and nest of unbrushed hair with disapproval.
“I-I was surprised at your absence, I must admit. I th-thought for sure you’d want to participate in the tournament…”
“Well…” Hebaron ran a hand through his hair, a half smile on his face. “I had every faith that your husband would win. When he’s in the mix, there’s little question of the outcome. Besides, old men like us need… rest after a campaign, right, Captain?”
“Hebaron,” Riftan said darkly, a clear warning in his voice.
“Oh, so only the commander is allowed to flit off for a week with-”
“Shut. Your. Mouth.”
Realizing what Hebaron was referring to, Maxi felt her face go bright red, while Riftan looked ready to go to blows. Unfazed, Hebaron merely held up his hands.
“Well, I’m here now. Ricaydo managed to find me and drag me out, insisting at least one of us needed to attend.”
Both desperate to change the subject and genuinely concerned, Maxi asked, “Is Ursuline’s arm any better? I haven’t had time to check on him today, but last Ruth said, he was on the mend…”
At this, Hebaron’s expression became one of hesitation and awkwardness, a look that Maxi had rarely seen on the ever confident man’s face.
“I… haven’t seen Ruth. Haven’t for days.” Coughing, he turned away from her for a moment, before finally shaking his head and continuing, “Anyway, my assumption is that Ricaydo simply didn’t want to be seen with his arm in a sling. I’m sure he’d perish if the entire gathered nobility of the Seven Kingdoms saw him still looking so weak! Besides, as we are to leave for Anatol tomorrow, he just has to hide it for one more day!”
Maxi’s frown from Hebaron’s flippant assessment of Ursuline’s injury melted away the instant the words ‘leave for Anatol tomorrow’ left his lips. Unable to contain her excitement, she grabbed hold of Riftan’s arm and looked up at him. “I-Is this true? Are we leaving tomorrow?”
Without hesitation, Riftan nodded. “Yes. It’s well past time we left, and there is no more reason to stay.”
“Is there not much to prepare? Are we truly ready to leave so suddenly?”
“Of course!” Hebaron said with gusto. “Charon and his subordinates have been hard at work preparing, so there’s no need to worry, your ladyship. Everything’s well in hand.”
“Should you not… have been more busy then, sir?” Maxi said, looking back once more at Hebaron and his thoroughly inappropriate appearance.
“Oh, not you too my lady. Ricaydo has chewed my ear off about it enough, I assure you.”
Maxi was still not quite ready to forgive him, but Hebaron only smirked harder at her, as if her pouting amused him.
“Well, then, since I came all this way, my lady, would you honor me with a dance?”
“She will not,” Riftan said, before Maxi could respond.
Switching her gaze to look up at him, Riftan met her eyes and smiled.
“Because she’s dancing with me.”
All it took was Riftan’s hands on her waist for a few turns around the ballroom for Maxi to feel herself heating up.
Dancing itself still was such a novelty that she still had to expend much of her energy from tripping over her feet, something Riftan seemed as ever capable of protecting her from. Though truth be told, the subtle press of his thumbs into her lower back, drawing tiny circles against her pelvic bone, told her he knew exactly what he was doing. At least he appeared to be just as affected as she was, given how his face grew flushed, their turns about the dance floor slightly less controlled.
Even though Maxi could feel eyes on them from every corner of the room, though her heart sped up at the thought of anyone cottoning on to the debauched thoughts running through her head… she couldn’t keep her hand from shifting along Riftan’s arm, moving to subtly caress his strong bicep. As it flexed under her touch, Riftan suddenly whirled her around at the last second to avoid another couple behind them, and she just managed to hold back a satisfied smirk.
“Now I know you did that on purpose,” he whispered threateningly in her ear, before pulling back up and looking down at her with a smirk of his own.
She had only a moment of breathless anticipation over what he would do in retaliation before with a gasp, he picked her up, and raising her high off the ground, spun them around. Just when her mind had processed this, he placed her back down, and proceeded to twirl her around.
Her head was spinning and heart racing so hard, she didn’t realize the music had come to an end until Riftan cradled her head and pulled her back into his chest.
“I’ll make a distraction, be ready to leave when I say,” Riftan whispered again, sending yet another shudder down her spine, her exhilaration from the dance turning quickly into heady anticipation.
Riftan turned to look behind them, and following his gaze, Maxi caught sight of Sir Gabel, who appeared to have himself just finished dancing with a young woman. Locking eyes with Riftan, Gabel’s expression turned to one of understanding, and with a quick nod, he turned back to say something to his partner. Maxi watched on, still slightly in a daze from spinning around the room, as Gabel strode toward the dias where much of the gathered royalty were currently sitting.
“My good lords and ladies, I would like to propose a toast!” Gabel’s strong voice called out, as he motioned towards a servant who dutifully brought him a glass of wine. “To the prosperity of the Seven Kingdoms! May we live in peace and fellowship for many years to come!”
Cheers and applause rang out from every corner of the assembly, surprising Maxi to some extent. Until she realized – anyone who disagreed with such a sentiment was likely too humiliated by the outcome of the sword tournament to voice their dissent openly.
Once the applause let up ever so slightly, Gabel continued, his voice loud enough to quiet the room. “I would also propose a toast to my commander and liege, Sir Riftan, on a most deserving victory today. May his countless heroic deeds continue to inspire knights throughout our lands to uphold the highest ideals of chivalry and honor!”
If anything, the cheers were louder this time, though when Maxi looked around, she realized she and Riftan had become surrounded by Remdragon Knights, all shouting with their whole hearts. Maxi anxiously glanced up at Riftan again, wondering how on earth this level of attention would help them slip away.
“I would propose a toast as well! To the brave knights of Livadon, for their many battles the past year that have helped assure us of our peace and prosperity!”
Other voices began to call out, proposing toasts to knights around the continent, and Maxi nearly let out a sigh, torn between frustration at the blatant jockeying for recognition by every faction in the room, and wry understanding that this was Riftan’s plan all along.
“Maxi,” Riftan murmured, recalling her attention, in order to gently push her towards a nearby door. Unhappy to part from him, but seeing the wisdom in slipping out separately, she quickly passed through the door, only to hesitate. Did he want her to head back to their room? Or should she wait for him there?
The corridor was dimly lit, the door clearly a side entrance rarely used. Finding herself alone in the dark, unsure of whether she should stay or go, Maxi felt yet one more shudder go up her spine. The uncertain wait and the familiar feeling of anticipation all served to fan the flames of her arousal. She hugged her waist, praying that Riftan would be quick to find his own escape, her eyes glued to the door, begging him to slip through any moment.
Only for her to gasp when she was lifted from behind, the beginnings of a shriek cut off by a hand tilting her face back for a kiss. Even in the dark, she immediately recognized Riftan’s dark eyes. In an instant she felt the flush of surprise melt away, leaving an even greater burst of passion in its wake.
Still, as he slipped his arm under her knees and hoisted her up, already halfway down the hall, she couldn’t stop herself from giggling.
“What has my lady laughing?” he asked, his own voice full of amusement, as he pulled her body around in his hold, prompting her to loop her arms around his neck.
Looking up at him in the dark, she held back her laughter and answered, “W-Well, I was just wondering… are we going to end every banquet this way?”
With a wicked grin, he leaned down and brushed his lips against hers. “If I have any say in it.”
The rest of the way back to their room was a blur. Maxi had no idea how Riftan knew such a secluded path through the palace, but seeing no sign of even a single maidservant, she allowed herself to enjoy the hot grip of Riftan’s hands against her back, her thighs, and the deep kisses he gave her whenever the urge seemed to grow too much. Just when she was about to grab his hand against her leg and move it further up, Riftan threw open the door to their chambers, and closing it firmly behind them, strode purposefully towards the bed.
When he carefully set her down on the edge, she looked up at him, surprised, not expecting this level of patience. He responded by dropping to his knees, and with a grin, raising her skirt over his head.
“R-Rifta- ah!”
She couldn’t even finish his name, as his tongue found its way against her undergarments, pressing hard enough for it to soak through and reach her beneath. He kept up this pressure for several agonizing seconds, even as she felt his hand against her waist, unknotting and pulling down her undergarments in a swift motion. She whimpered, the momentary lack of his tongue and a draft of cool air sending a throb through her aching flesh, only to gasp moments later when Riftan softly pressed his tongue now directly against her, latching on to suck as his fingers gently probed her folds. When her hands fisted in his hair, her hips jutted forward and pulled him more strongly against him, and she felt the rumble of a chuckle against her entrance, prompting her to moan even louder. His finger brushed gently against her, his touch soft, as he proceeded to coat them in her juices before finally slipping inside. Even then, he continued achingly slowly – timing the curl of his finger inside her with the movement of his tongue against her sex. She sobbed, wanting to beg for more, yet also feeling as if she could barely stand what he was doing to her.
Her climax rolled over her, almost by surprise, sooner than expected yet heady and deep. When she finished convulsing and her breath and mind returned to her, she saw Riftan had removed his trousers and climbed on top of her, his hands already loosening the straps of her dress, pulling it down to her ankles. Before she knew it, they were fully naked, and he was leaning down, brushing feathery kisses against her cheek. But before he could kiss her lips, she pushed on his chest.
“Maxi?” he asked, stilling, looking down at her with a concerned frown.
“W-Wait a moment. I…”
A thought had entered her head and refused to leave, but somehow, saying it aloud a second time felt just as hard as the first.
“What is it?” he asked, lowering his head to stare more deeply into her eyes.
Feeling her cheeks on fire, she closed her eyes and blurted it out.
“I want to do it, too.”
After a long moment of silence, she tentatively opened her eyes to see a… conflicted look on Riftan’s face.
“There’s no need.”
Even as he said this, his cheeks grew red and his throat bobbed. Emboldened by his reaction, she sat up, her hands guiding him into sitting back on his own heels.
“But… I want to. Please?”
With a strangled moan, he nodded, so with a triumphant smile, she gently pushed him onto his back. Turning her attention to his lower body, she noted with satisfaction that he was fully erect. Without hesitation, she took his member into her hands, and after a moment of appreciating how warm and solid he felt, she brought his tip to her lips.
“Ahh…”
It had been some months since she’d last taken him into her mouth, but she had a clear memory of what had worked best. Mirroring his care at the start with her, she slowly ran her tongue up and down his shaft, then wrapped her hands around his base, softly sucking on what of him she could fit in her mouth, timing the caress of her tongue and the pull of her cheeks with the movement of her hands. She watched through her eyelashes as he threw his head back and released more moans, the sight filling her with glee, making her clench her wet thighs tighter from her own arousal.
Just when she started picking up speed, trying to suck harder, Riftan gasped and pushed at her shoulder.
“Agh, M-Maxi, that’s enough.”
With a pout, she let him push her back, releasing him with a wet pop. Staring down at it, red and throbbing, she quickly climbed up on his lap. While she steadied herself with one hand against his tense abdomen, the other reached behind her to grab his erect member. Looking into his eyes, she raised her hips.
With a curse, he gripped her hips, helping as she guided him inside her. She gasped at the feeling – he slid into her so easily, the wetness coating her thighs from his earlier ministrations and her saliva on his member, making their joining feel like sinking into a hot bath, and the pressure of him inside her so pleasurable that she immediately arched her back, gasping again at the reignited sparks within her.
Riftan let out a low whine, pressing at her hips, which pulled Maxi out of her momentary stupor. She lifted herself up, only to sink down again and again, reliving the sweet, sticky feeling of him coming into her deepest parts. How wonderful was it that this man, strongest and most valiant in the land, gave himself so willingly to her? She closed her eyes, only to have them fly open when Riftan moved a hand to rub purposefully against the nub within her bush, sending her spilling over into another orgasm.
All the strength left her legs, so while she twitched in the afterglow, Riftan hooked his arms under her legs, and in one smooth motion, flipped her onto her back, all while staying embedded inside her.
Still sensitive from her climax, Maxi moaned as Riftan set an intense pace, his strong arms pushing against her knees to keep her legs spread as wide as they would go, even more wetness spilling out of her with each thrust.
Even this seemed to not be enough. Just as she thought she could take no more, he suddenly grabbed her ankles, moving her legs to rest against one of his shoulders, and grasped her buttocks with both hands, her hips lifting off the sheets.
“O-Oh, R-Riftan! I… I…” She couldn’t even even form the words, this new position setting her nerves on fire yet again.
Kissing her ankle, he murmured between thrusts, “Are you… close again?”
“Y-Yes!”
“Good,” he hissed, a tell-tale hitch in his voice, his movements losing all rhythm.
She felt the edges of her vision go white as her own peak began to roll over her. “P-please, Riftan… come inside me…”
“Dammit…” He cursed as his thrusting stilled, and she savored the feeling of him pulsing in climax inside her.
They stayed still, both panting, until slowly, he parted her legs and sunk into her, gathering her into his arms and allowing their erratic breaths to mix together.
After a long while, Riftan carefully pulled out of her, sticky liquid pouring onto the sheets in his wake. With a blush and a pang of chagrin, Maxi looked up at him, uneasy.
“R-Riftan…” In the wake of it, suddenly she couldn’t find the words. She hadn’t meant to start this conversation in such a way.
But she had long resolved not to hide from him, nor allow him to hide from her. And now, the final barriers were gone, were they not? He had ceased being quite so careful on their return trip to Balbourne, and while he still appeared hesitant, she had decided in her heart what it was she wanted. All that remained was determining what was in his.
So she grasped his arm, and gently pulled him down to lie next to her. He responded immediately, pulling her slick body up so her head rested above his heart. Wrapping her arms around his chest, she breathed in his scent for strength.
“I’ve… wanted it. For a while.”
He remained silent, though his arms tightened slightly against her back. So she continued.
“W-What about you? Do you… still not?”
She gathered her courage and looked up into his face, to see him staring ahead with a look of deep contemplation on his face.
Then with a sigh, he said, “I don’t know. If I’m honest…” He paused for a long moment, before finally blurting out, “It still frightens me.”
Maxi’s heart dropped to hear the fragility in his voice, and she squeezed him harder, burrowing her head against his neck. “I-It frightens me too… but… more than that, when I think about having your child…” She paused, wanting to find the right words. “...I feel more excited than scared.”
“This is something you truly want?” he asked, tipping her head back up to look at him, his eyes probing.
She nodded, trying to send all her sincerity and hope into her gaze. She did want this, not just from some vestigial sense of obligation, not to assuage the remnants of guilt that hung about her heart over what might have been. But more than anything she wanted them to be in accord about it, to make this decision together.
“If it is what you want… I think I can bear it.”
At these words, she could see that his eyes were still wary, and yet, the intensity of his gaze allowed some of her unease to wane, hope coming in to take its place.
Sometime soon, once they were home and safely ensconced in their own bedroom, she’d ask again, draw him out more, and see if she could further alleviate his fears. But she could be patient.
They had time, now.
She brushed her lips against his, and he responded by threading his hands through her hair, gently pushing his tongue into her mouth.
As their kiss continued, as they tended to do, it grew more and more heated, until she drew back with a gasp for air. Riftan seized the opportunity and rolled them over, his thigh digging in between her legs.
“We… should go to sleep… since we are leaving tomorrow…” she lied.
“Yes… we should,” he responded, as he lowered his head to her breast and began to suck.
With a pleased sigh, she gave herself over to the sweet feeling.
