Work Text:
Name: Perseus Jackson
Preferred Name: Percy
Gender: Male (he/him)
Age: 17
Reason for referral: He was found unconscious on the shores of a nearby river and was taken to the local hospital by a concerned citizen. Upon arrival they tried to insert a cannula and IV drip, but the needle wouldn't penetrate his skin.
I happened to be visiting the hospital [Dennys had pneumonia] and noticed the commotion. Upon attempting to contact his parents it was revealed that his stepfather is missing (presumed dead) and his mother is also registered as dead.
The staff are aware of my school and I offered to take temporary guardianship of Percy, with his consent, until such time as a family member can be found. He has informed me that there are none left and is happy to remain at the school until he ages out.
Psychiatric evaluation: Percy has been diagnosed with PTSD. His school records show that he is Dyslexic and has ADHD. His lesson plan has been adjusted accordingly. Lundy also wants me to say that he is highly uncooperative.
Recommended Therapy type: Besides attending the nightly group therapy sessions, Percy will also meet with Lundy twice a week for a private session.
Characteristics attained due to travel: - Percy has the 'Achilles curse' - Percy displays the ability to communicate with and understand marine life and horses. - Percy tries to hide his Hydrokenisis because he is embarrassed about his wide array of gifts when compared with other students.
Notes on Pupil: - Inclined to cover his true feelings with sass and sarcasm - Inclined to breaking rules, which is what led to his banishment from Olympiad in the first place. - Percy struggles with many of his school subjects, except Physical Education and Biology, in which there is currently a marine unit being taught. - He is inclined to be self-deprecating. - Percy is an excellent strategic thinker and he and Kade often discuss the best way in which to win a war. I have suggested that they could actively practice some of these strategies using Chess, but Percy just laughed and said he didn't have the patience for it. Personally, I agree.
World visited: Olympiad.
Location on World Compass: High Logic. Mid Wicked.
Notes on World: Olympiad is a multi generational world that tends to run in families. Percy, for example, has informed the school that his mother entered as young woman before leaving once she discovered her pregnancy. Percy has repeatedly informed Lundy that she did this to protect him.
As both Mother and Son later found their way back to the world, under less than desirable circumstances, it has been concluded her efforts were unsuccessful. Percy has refused to say why he needed protection, or from what, but we feel that he will open up to Lundy given time.
It is known that Olympiad is very hierarchachal, revolving around 12 rulers who hold semi-mythical status and all of the power. It is pre-industrial with a heavy dependence on magic, although Percy has said its medicine is almost of the same quality as ours.
Little else is known about Olympiad as it is not a world from which any of our former student's have visited, although time does pass differently there, as it does in so many of the worlds.
Notes on Doorway: Percy was unaware how his mother arrived in Olympiad, but has stated that he discovered his oen door in the woodland near Montauk following a car crash during a hurricane.
The door stood untouched by the stormy weather and Percy used it to escape, dragging his unconscious mother with him. The door was made of many tiny piece of multicoloured sea glass, he said, painting a scene onto the pavement that should have been impossible. When asked why, Percy pointed out that it was nighttime and so he shouldn't have been able to see anything at all.
