Something Like This

Summary:

B'Elanna Torres tells Seven of Nine something she's never told anyone.

Notes:

My contribution to the 2024 Merry Month of Cohen. This one is not too dark.

Work Text:

So I knelt there at the delta,
At the alpha and the omega,
At the cradle of the river and the seas.
And like a blessing come from heaven
For something like a second I was healed and my heart
Was at ease.

O baby I waited
So long for your kiss
For something to happen,
Oh something like this.

"Light as the Breeze," Leonard Cohen

B'Elanna was headed to her quarters after a late shift when she saw her. Seven of Nine. Lurking in the corridor near her door.

"If you're hoping to observe more 'human mating behavior,' you're out of luck," B'Elanna said. She and Tom were currently on a break. Again.

"I had heard that you had ended your affiliation."

"Not exactly. We're on a break, not broken up." Deciding she didn't want to have this conversation in the corridor, she opened the door to her quarters and gestured Seven inside. Seven had come a long way since she'd joined Voyager, but there was still no predicting what she was going to say.

Seven entered B'Elanna's quarters and stood in the middle of the living area. "How is a break different from a break up?" Seven asked.

"It's a pause, not an end," B'Elanna explained. She would be annoyed if anyone else was this nosy, but she had come to understand that Seven's intrusive questions came from a place of innocent curiosity.

"Lt. Paris will offer you stems of flowering vegetation, and you will reconcile?"

"No," B'Elanna said, laughing a little. Tom was nothing if not predictable. "We didn't have a fight this time. We're just...trying to figure out if we're better off together or apart."

"Are you dating other people?"

They hadn't really discussed it, but B'Elanna rather suspected that Tom was taking the opportunity to spend time with Harry and the Delaney twins. "Perhaps."

"In that case...would you like to join me for dinner?"

B'Elanna stared in disbelief. "You're...asking me on a date?"

"I have been informed that sharing nutrients is an appropriate first date."

"Why me?"

"I find your intelligence and engineering skills appealing."

"There's a lot of smart engineers on board. How about Harry?"

Seven hesitated. "I am also intrigued by the...enthusiasm of your intimate relations. It appears I am missing out on something."

B'Elanna groaned. "No, you aren't."

"No one else on board is as vocal."

"Look, Seven, this stays between us. Not a word to anyone. Got it?"

"I will comply."

She couldn't believe she was confessing this, to Seven of all people, but somehow she couldn't lie to Seven. "I'm faking it."

Seven was clearly caught off guard. "Faking what?"

"Sexual enjoyment. I have never experienced a sexual climax. I don't think I can. Not all human and Klingon genes combine well."

"Why would you pretend something you are not actually experiencing?"

"It's just easier that way. Men have fragile egos." Or at least Tom Paris did.

"You pretend for the benefit of Lt. Paris?"

"It makes him happy. He takes pride in his ability to please women. Humans expect Klingons to be loud." She rather wished she hadn't started faking it, but once she had, she didn't know how to stop. She ended up the talk of Deck 9, Section 12...and it was all a lie.

"Do all human relationships require dishonesty?"

"To a point," B'Elanna said. "I may have carried it too far." It was hard to explain. She didn't fully understand it herself. But communicating with Tom was difficult. He was a decent guy who meant well, but he had the sensitivity of a brick. "He takes so much pride in his bedroom skills. It's not his fault. I'm defective. I didn't want him to blame himself."

"You are not defective."

"How would you know?"

"The Borg have records of thousands of human-Klingon hybrids."

"I thought they discarded 'irrelevant' information."

"Generally, yes. However, there was interest in such topics in Unimatrix Zero."

"You had sex in Unimatrix Zero?"

"I did. I had many different partners before settling with Axum. I did not remember it previously, but I do now. I am experienced, and I believe I can stimulate you to orgasm."

B'Elanna stared, open-mouthed. She was partly shocked, partly outraged...and partly interested. Very interested, actually. She'd always been curious... "Awfully confident, aren't you?"

"I was right about tetraburnium instead of titanium. I'm right about this."

"You were not right!" B'Elanna protested.

Seven didn't reply, just looked at her with that challenging expression on her face.

"All right," B'Elanna said. "I'll let you try." She couldn't believe she was agreeing to this, but she knew she would always regret it if she didn't give it a shot. "Tomorrow, 0800 hours."

Seven signaled at her door exactly on time. B'Elanna let her in.

Seven was direct as always. "Remove your clothing, and sit on the couch."

"Bossy, aren't you?" But she did it.

"Oral stimulation is most likely to result in success," Seven announced.

B'Elanna blinked. She had been expecting some sort of Borg gadgetry. "Maybe I should take another shower." She knew her scent was pungent by human standards.

Seven knelt in front of her. "Your hygiene is more than adequate. Pull your knees up."

B'Elanna obeyed. Her genitalia was odd-looking by both human and Klingon standards, and she mostly tried not to look at it, but here she was, fully displayed for Seven. And oddly, not too uncomfortable about it.

Seven touched her gently. "Two vaginas, two clitorises, a double set of labia."

"Yes," B'Elanna said. "Not as large as they would be on a full Klingon."

"I will commence," Seven said. "Inform me if you require stronger or more gentle stimulation." She lowered her head, tasting B'Elanna's labia.

B'Elanna sighed. It felt good. She'd had partners who did this for her. It usually felt good. The only exception was that time she'd spent the night with a Klingon man. He'd been a little too rough.

It was pleasurable, and she could feel the tension growing. She clutched her knees harder, opening herself up to Seven and her skillfull mouth. Which was moving to one of her clits now, nibbling, licking, sucking. The tension spiked, and she could feel herself trembling.

This had happened before, and she sometimes wondered if this was actually an orgasm, and she hadn't recognized it. But an actual orgasm seemed like something that was unmistakable. And she didn't think people would like sex so much if this was all there was. There was pleasure, yes, but also a deep frustration. There had to be more, but her body did not know how to achieve it.

Seven had strength and stamina that most people did not, and she continued laving B'Elanna's clits, alternating between them, long after most humans would have given up. B'Elanna was tossing restlessly, straining toward relief. Anything to end this endlessly spiraling tension that was becoming more like torture than pleasure.

"It's not working," she said. "Seven, you gave it a good try, but...oh!"

She broke off as she felt Seven's teeth bite sharply at her top clit. Hard, but not too hard. For moment, she froze in shock, hanging on the edge of...something. Seven bit her again, and then the tension was suddenly exploding, wracking her body with convulsions of relief and pleasure. She was still shivering with it when she felt Seven biting at her other clit, provoking another, even more shattering orgasm. B'Elanna found herself roaring with ecstasy. She couldn't help it.

When reality solidified around her again, she was sprawled on the couch, sweat cooling on her skin, Seven's arms around her. "Are you all right, B'Elanna?"

"Wonderful."

"Not faking?"

"Definitely not."

"You are not defective. Mr. Paris is inadequately skilled."

"Don't tell him that," B'Elanna said, chuckling at how Tom would react.

"But if he not informed of his deficiencies, he cannot improve."

"Probably true, but it's not my concern," B'Elanna said. Sometime in the last few days, she'd realized that she'd rather be alone than continue to "scrape shields" with Tom. He wasn't a bad man, not at all. If she was in a crisis, he'd do anything to help her. It was the rest of the time that was the problem. "I'm going to tell him our break is officially a break up."

"In that case...dinner tomorrow?"

B'Elanna grinned. "Why the hell not?"
