Chapter Text

Kim Rok Soo couldn’t see anything. It was dark, but he could hear a voice. It was one of the most elegant voices he had ever heard, and very curious. Unfortunately, he didn’t understand a word, despite it being muffled he knew it wasn't Koran.
‘Where am I?’
He tried to open his eyes, but he couldn't tell if they were already open or not since it was nothing but a black void that he could see.
‘Is he just going to keep talking? Does he think I can respond?’
Kim Rok Soo wanted to move but his body felt weak and his mind was becoming tired from the confusion. After trying to move again, and failing, he gave up and decided that sleeping would be better.
‘Is this a strange dream because I fell asleep reading on the floor?’
After that final thought, Kim Rock Soo was lulled to sleep by that beautiful muffled voice.

Some time has passed, how long? He didn't know, but he woke back up in the darkness, there was no voice now, but it seemed that he had more control over his body.
‘I guess I wasn’t dreaming, but if it's not a dream, where am I?’
With newfound strength Kim Rok Soo moved his arms and head forward, there he met a slimy wall of some kind, disgusted and curious he kept pushing until he heard a crack. Then he closed his eyes from the sudden light coming through.

“ Finally hatching are you?”
It was that voice again. He can understand him now? Thinking, Kim Rok Soo seems to know more now despite being asleep.
‘I am a dragon? When did… I learn this? Is this because this gold dragon was talking to me?’
Accustomed to the light now, he swiveled his head around. His sights were filled with gold, shining so brightly that one would be unable to tell night from day without the help of a window, which this cave lacked.

“Hatchling, are you going to ignore me? Quite rude after I rescued you.”
“Rescued me?”
He didn’t mean to speak, but he needed more information. All he knew now was who he was before, and vague facts of what he is and could do now. He was a red dragon, the golden elf in front of him was a dragon, there are multiple species in this world some that can and cannot use mana, and he was apart of those who could.

“So you can speak, good. I am Eruhaben, the Golden dragon. I rescued you about a century ago from a group of humans.”
‘Saved me? A century ago?’ “Thank you Eruhaben-nim for rescuing me.”
“Ho! Is a dragon saying thank you? I thought I’d seen it all.”

‘Was that not what he wanted to hear? I thought he brought it up to mock me. I only said thanks to not make him angry.’

“Since I have already taken you in for the past century, It seems I need to educate you as well. But do not think I will give you more than my knowledge even if you ask and beg, I only need to make sure you won’t taint the dragon race.”
‘Knowlege? That's good, I need to know more about where I am.’

“Come now hatchling, you need a meal before our first lesson.”
‘I thought you weren’t going to give me more than your knowledge, seems like I can get more from him if I do beg.’

Kim Rok Soo studied himself for a moment, then took flight. Eruhaben led the way to the kitchen and gave him a meal. Afterward, they began their lessons on magic, language, and etiquette.
During his decades of lessons, Eruhaben gave him a name, Pwyll.
