Chapter 1: First Meet

Chapter Text

Felix grew up sheltered. He’s talking, 18 years of age, and never had sex, said a swear word, or had a hint of alcohol. Things take a drastic turn when his mother falls ill.

It happens on a Sunday. Felix and his mom are eating lunch, after church, when suddenly she grabs her chest and can no longer properly breathe.

“Mom?” Felix calls out frantically as he calls the ambulance.

It’s a frantic 20 minutes, filled with Felix listening to instructions on chest compressions, having to call his dad, and trying to be a good boy to his mom.

He does his best and rides in the ambulance to the hospital where his mom is wheeled away in a stretcher. He remains seated in the omega section of the waiting room until his father comes to claim him. With tears in his eyes, Felix runs to his father for comfort.

“Wait here while I find out any information on your mom,” Mr. Lee tells his son. A sad Felix nods as he waits in the general area now that he has an alpha to claim him.

Felix stares anxiously as an angry Mr. Lee flails his arms around and starts gesturing widely, making crude hand gestures. The man finally tuts a snarl before sitting back beside Felix.

“She’s in surgery but there’s no update from the surgeon yet,” the man explains. Felix nods, feeling sick. “Is there anything you can remember, son?”

“No,” Felix mumbles. He tries to recall the past few months to see if he can recall any sort of shift in behavior. “Umm, lately she’s been kind of forgetful.”

“Like a foggy memory?” The alpha asks.

“Yes, exactly,” Felix nods. “Brain fog.”

“Hmm, that could be several things,” the elder sighs. “Alright, I guess we just have to wait and see.”

It’s not even twenty minutes later when a beta approaches the pair, she’s wearing scrubs so they assume she’s from the nursing staff.

“Hello, I’m Rena, and I’m from the financial office,” she explains. She has paperwork in her hand. “We ran Mrs. Lee’s insurance and it doesn’t cover the cost of the surgery and other hospital fees. There’s an ongoing balance of five million won that will need to be paid as soon as possible for ongoing treatment.”

Mr. Lee has a sneer on his face and he stands up.

“My wife is in surgery for a condition I know nothing about,” Mr. Lee starts on his tangent. “I haven’t heard shit from anyone yet, my son is distraught, and you approach me asking for money?”

Felix begins to shake as his father’s angry pheromones fill the room. Mr. Lee has always had a wicked temper.

“Dad,” Felix whines and bares his neck in submission. He whimpers. Mr. Lee looks at his son and sees a tear fall down before wiping it away. The man swallows before snatching the paperwork and sitting down.

“I’m sorry Felix,” Mr. Lee pats his son on the knee. “Calm down now, it’s okay. I’m sorry I got so upset.”

Felix nods, trying not to cry like a baby but just as worried for his mother and now worried about how they are going to pay for her treatment and surgery.

The Lees are not broke but they are living paycheck to paycheck. Mr. Lee is the only breadwinner in the house because it’s so hard for omegas to get any work in this part of Korea. Hell, even Felix had to fight to be allowed into college.

Needless to say, they do not have an extra five million won sitting around.

“I’ll get this paid, now fuck off,” Mr. Lee warns Rena.

“Of course,” she bows before scurrying off and out of sight.

Felix watches as his father crumbles up the paperwork into a tight grip of his fist, shaking his leg up and down.

“Will we be able to pay?” Felix asks.

“I don’t know,” Mr. Lee sighs. “I can probably come up with the money by borrowing or doing over time, but then there may be follow-up fees for ongoing treatments; just depends.”

“How can I help?” Felix asks.

“You’re always so sweet,” Mr. Lee pats Felix on the head. “Let me worry about money. You worry about school. We finally found you a program willing to take in an omega.”

“She’s my mom, too,” Felix cries harder. “I know I’m an omega, but I can work.”

“Felix, no one will hire an 18-year-old omega with no experience,” Mr. Lee frowns. “I hate it for you. I do. Because you are smarter than anyone I’ve ever met. But people look at your omega status and deem you as nothing but a breeding tool. They won’t hire you. Maybe if you were born an alpha…”

Mr. Lee trails off and Felix silently cries on his father’s shoulder as he tries to come up with some way he can help save his mother.

It’s a long four hours until the Doctor finally emerges with news.

“Mr. Lee? Are you the family of Mrs. Lee?” The doctor has on his scrubs and a face mask. He bows and comes to sit beside Mr. Lee, not bothering to pay any attention to Felix. Like most alphas. “I’m Dr. Rhinehart, and I was the lead surgeon who performed on your wife.”

“What’s going on?” Mr. Lee asks, anxiously. Felix reaches out for his hand and Mr. Lee clings to his son like a lifeline. “What is happening to my mate?”

“She has tumors in the brain,” the Doctor explains. “We were able to successfully remove one and will perform a biopsy on it to see if it’s cancerous but based on the size, and number, we found…”

The Doctor trails off and Felix collapses onto his father’s thigh; crying so loud it causes others in the waiting room to look on with sympathy.

“We caught it early, however,” Doctor Rinehart continues. “None are located in an inoperable place. If it’s cancer, I’m hoping with the right chemo treatment and ongoing removal surgeries your wife will be able to be in remission.”

“That’s going to cost a lot, I assume?” Mr. Lee rubs Felix’s back.

“Ah, yes, we do have payment options available with the finance department,” Doctor Rinehart at least looks sympathetic. “But we would need a deposit of seven million won before we can continue with treatment.”

“That’s just the deposit?” Mr. Lee gasps. “What the hell is insurance for?”

Felix stops crying and feels a lump in his throat. He has to find a job. He has to help his father save their mother. He’ll do anything.

“Dad, why don’t you go visit mom first?” Felix suggests. “I just want to understand Mom’s condition better, so I’ll talk to the Doctor.”

“Okay,” Mr. Lee stands and looks at Doctor Rinehart. “I know he’s an omega, but my son is brilliant. You can talk to him normally. He’ll understand all of this way better than a brute like me.”

“Understood,” Dr. Rinehart nods. “Your wife is in room 334C, she should be resting now but you can visit.”

“Okay, and son, come find me immediately after talking to the Doctor,” Mr. Lee warns.

“Yes, sir, of course,” Felix agrees.

“Good boy, I love you, my son,” Mr. Lee kisses the top of Felix’s head and Felix preens at the attention.

“Love you also,” Felix waves his father off. Felix turns his eyes to the Doctor. “I actually don’t have any follow-up questions. You didn’t mention tumors elsewhere so they haven’t spread yet, that’s good. My question is, how can I help my father pay for the treatments? Do you know of any place that would hire an omega?”

“Well, how old are you?” Doctor Rinehart frowns.

“18,” Felix admits. “I start my first year of college in the fall. I’ve never worked before but I can cook, I can bake, I’m great at finances, and I speak several languages.”

“That’s impressive,” Doctor Rinehart nods. “You would make a fine professional one day but unfortunately, you are an omega. Most facilities don’t like hiring omegas because you have heats, and some alphas feel like omegas distract the workplace with your pheromones.”

Felix frowns.

“However,” Doctor Rinehart bites on his bottom lip. “If you are willing to do something a bit unconventional, there’s a place that only hires omegas.”

Felix perks up but feels anxious at the same time.

“Please, what is it?” Felix asks.

“There are certain facilities that an alpha in rut can go to in order to not spend his rut alone,” Dr. Rinehart explains. Felix pales. “The Phoenix House pays the most because they deal in only wealthy alphas. My cousin works there herself and she gets paid on average twenty million a client.”

“You’re talking about sex work,” Felix feels himself crying all over again. “I’m a virgin. I’ve never even cussed before. I go to Church every Sunday. How am I supposed to just allow an alpha to…I can’t even…”

“Hey, I’m not forcing you, I just suggested it,” Dr. Rinehart stands. “You should get back to your father.”

The Doctor walks away and Felix remains rooted in his seat feeling disgusted.

Standing up, Felix heads for the room. He stops outside the door and can hear his father on the phone.

Yeah, I have no idea how I’m going to pay, Robert. If only Felix was an alpha or beta. He’s so brilliant. I know he could get an amazing job but with him being an omega, no one will hire him. It sucks. My wife is dying and I can’t even afford to save her. I don’t know what I’m going to do.

Felix slides to the ground and hugs his knees. He cries to himself and for himself. The decision has practically been made for him. Felix will go to Phoenix House in the morning and sign up for a job. He just hopes he can make it out of this with his morals intact.

xXx

Felix walks into the building feeling nauseous. He’s shaking from head to toe and gets greeted by a beta woman with a long purple-dyed ponytail and a smile on her face.

“Hello, I’m Amy, and you are?” She asks.

“Felix, I um, I came because um,” Felix starts shaking again. “I need a job.”

“Ah,” there’s a look of sympathy in her eyes. “We don’t ask questions here and any omega in need of a job is welcome. I’ll set you up with an appointment with our hiring manager, Jung, he’ll see you soon so just feel free to get some water or take a seat.”

Felix nods, twisting the rings on his fingers as he tries to calm his heart rate down. He only has to wait ten minutes before an alpha is approaching him. The man is about six feet even with a slim build and slender shoulders. He has short black hair and looks well-manicured.

“Hello, I’m Jung. I was told you are looking for a job, follow me,” Jung gestures and Felix follows. They end up in an office where another person is waiting; she’s an omega. Tiny in height and size with short auburn hair. “I do need to close the door for privacy, so I have Pia in here with us since she’s also an omega.”

“Thank you,” Felix appreciates the gesture and goes to sit on one of the large white chairs in front of a huge oak desk. “I’m sorry in advance, I’m just extremely nervous. Never thought I would be in a place like this.”

“We all feel that way at first,” Pia smiles gently and Felix feels at ease in her presence. “We’ll never ask why you had to end up here. We just want to ensure that all omegas have a safe haven. Whenever you meet with a client, you can always revoke consent at any time.”

Felix feels calmer hearing this.

“To start, we need to make sure you are at least 18,” Jung states.

“Yes, I’ll be 19 in September,” Felix responds.

“Good, and you may choose to be addressed as your real name or another name,” Jung explains.

“Oh, I’m Felix but if you could use Yongbok instead?” Felix asks.

“That’s not a problem, just put that on your application if you’re still interested after a tour,” Jung responds.

“Okay,” Felix nods.

“Before we do a tour, I need to explain how things work here,” Jung clears his throat. “Every omega has their own dedicated room, you will not be sharing so feel free to make it your own while you are working here. Payday is every Friday. You receive 70% commission and we receive 30%. All tips are yours to keep. Alphas can request you by a catalog, or will get matched to you by our placement system.”

“Okay,” Felix nods. It doesn’t sound too scary so far.

“You’ll provide us with a list of likes and dislikes as well as a personality quiz,” Jung continues. “It makes matching easier. Now, how many alphas have you spent a rut with?”

“None,” Felix admits.

Pia’s eyes widen.

“No, are you a virgin?” Pia gasps.

Felix feels like crying as he nods.

“Right, in that case, you’ll go for a high price,” Jung sighs. “You can deny any client but we’ll mark you as a Prize omega. The alphas know what that means. They’ll probably bid for you.”

“Oh wow,” Felix coughs. “This is a lot to take in.”

“It seems scary at first but you start getting used to your clients and it’s honestly not so bad,” Pia encourages. “Like helping out your friends.”

“Right,” Felix nods.

“Well, would you like to see the tour?” Jung offers.

Felix wants to run. He wants to go to confession and beg God for forgiveness. But then he thinks about his mom dying and his father struggling. Felix nods.

“Okay, then let’s go,” Jung stands and Felix follows suit.

They walk a long hallway with white walls.

“These doors are all rooms for the omegas,” Jung states. “Some choose to live here, while others merely stay here upon working. After signing up, you’ll be placed Active in the system. You may go inactive at any point in time and your profile gets archived so it’s undiscoverable.”

Felix nods, taking in all the new information. He feels like his palms are starting to sweat.

“I’ll show you an empty room,” Jung opens up a door and the room is massive. There’s a bed, a bathroom, a dresser, a television, and it even has a little couch. “Every room comes equipped with a remote that acts as a panic button.”

Jung shows Felix the remote.

“You press the red button and guards will immediately come to your rescue, no questions asked,” Jung promises. “Most omegas will keep the remote in their hands during their sessions until they get to know their clients.”

Felix nods, liking the security measures of this facility.

“Every alpha knows the rules,” Jung affirms. “Consent is important. Most alphas lose control during their ruts so if you don’t feel safe, press the button. The alpha will then get removed to a white room that’s filled with omega pheromones and toys.”

“That’s a bit reassuring,” Felix admits.

Jung continues with the tour and Felix finally gets led back to the office.

“So, are you still interested in signing up?” Jung has papers on his desk.

Felix is tormented in his decision. He grew up a good Catholic omega. He listens to his father’s every word, and his father states that good omegas remain pure. However, Felix knows his father can’t afford to keep their mother alive. Felix can give up his body and save his mother. The decision is very obvious. If there was any other way. Any, he would jump at the chance. But there isn’t. No for an uneducated omega.

“I’ll sign,” Felix nods.

“Okay,” Jung nods. “Just look over this paperwork and sign accordingly. I’ll need some form of ID, and you’ll have to agree to a background check.”

Felix nods, handing over his ID as he looks over the paperwork. He reads all the rules that Jung has verbally stated, and Felix reads that he can deny any alpha who books a rut session with him. Felix learns that ruts vary from 3-7 days and the omega worries how he’ll be able to be away from home that long.

Felix reads that any tips he gets paid are all his to keep. Deposits are made immediately after each session. So, Felix fills out his bank information and signs his signature. He feels like he’s signing away his innocence, or his soul. Then again, maybe he is.

“Alright,” Jung hands Felix back his ID. He hands Felix a business card. “Just send a couple of photos to this email address so that we can create a profile. We’ll need all your information filled out on this form.”

Felix gets handed another form. It asks for his height, weight, gender, second gender, sexual experience, sexual likes and dislikes. It’s very detailed. With flushed cheeks, Felix fills out the form and hands it back to Jung. He pulls out his phone and chooses the cutest selfies he has, as well as one full body, and emails it to the address provided on the card.

“Alright, I will get your profile set up tonight,” Jung promises. “I’ll call you as soon as you get a client. In case of multiple bids, we always allow our VIPs to take priority.”

“Okay,” Felix stands and refuses to cry. He’s made the decision, and he’ll stick to it. “Thank you for meeting with me. I look forward to your call.”

Jung smiles easily and Felix leaves. The omega heads straight for the hospital and sees his tired father sitting in a chair while his wife is sleeping in the hospital bed.

“Hello son,” Mr. Lee greets. “Where were you today?”

“I called a friend from school,” Felix lies for the first time and it leaves a bitter taste on his tongue. “He’s an omega like me. I told him about Mom and he said he may have a job for me. Says he will call tomorrow and if so, I can stay with him during the job duration.”

“What?” Mr. Lee sits up. “Felix, son, this is great news. What kind of job? What is the pay? Who is this friend?”

Questions, too many questions.

“He’s just a kid I know from school,” Felix shrugs. “He’s an atheist, so I was afraid to ever mention him. But the job is working in the kitchen for some rich people. They only like omegas working for them.”

“Ah,” Mr. Lee frowns. “So, he’s a sinner?”

“But he promises the pay is good, and I figured with mom being like this I should pull my weight,” Felix counters. Defensive of his imaginary friend. “Besides, I am a man. I want to work. I know I’m an omega, but I can’t help my second gender. I want…I need to do this.”

“I see,” Mr. Lee nods. “Then, I hope you get the job.”

“Thank you, Father,” Felix goes to sit on the other side of his mother. “Has she stirred, yet?”

“No, still too tired to wake,” Mr. Lee responds.

Felix swallows his guilt and disgust. This is all for a good cause. He’s surer of it now than ever before.

xXx

It’s nine in the morning, the very next day, and Felix gets a call.

“Your profile launched thirty minutes ago and you received 52 applications,” Jung says as his form of greeting. “We paired you with our best VIP and he offered 70 million as a bid. That means 49 million won for you and 21 million for us. You keep any tips he may provide as well.”

Felix’s jaw drops. He’s in his Winnie the Pooh bear onesies with dried drool on his cheek and some alpha just bid 70 million to spend his rut with him. It’s hard to grasp the idea that this is happening.

“Okay, um, when do I need to be there?” Felix asks with a shaky voice.

“Now if you can,” Jung responds. “The alpha’s rut is starting now.”

“Okay,” Felix hangs up and jumps out of the bed. He rushes to the bathroom and thoroughly showers. He makes sure to get every inch of his body clean. Hopping out of the shower, he grabs his duffle and has a week’s worth of products and clothes stuffed inside.

Felix changes into some sweats and a tee before placing his hair in a bun. He heads downstairs and sees his father gone. Good, Felix thinks. He gets in his car and drives to the facility before sending his dad a text stating he has to leave for the job and that he loves him.

Mr. Lee calls.

“Felix? You left?” Mr. Lee questions.

“Yes Dad, I’m gone,” Felix tries to keep his breath even.

“Well, where is this place?” Mr. Lee questions. “You never told me the name of the kid, either.”

“His name is Yung Mei, and the place is about 30 minutes away but we’re not allowed to give out the location,” Felix admits.

“This sounds shady as hell,” Mr. Lee growls out.

“Dad, I…I promise I know what I’m doing,” Felix responds back. “I promise to call you every night. You are fighting so hard to protect mom. Let me fight, too.”

Silence.

“Fine, but every night, Felix, I mean it,” Mr. Lee says. “Love you, son.”

He hangs up before Felix can respond back.

Sighing, Felix gets out of his car and walks into the facility. He heads to the office and Jung escorts Felix to his own room.

“Make yourself at home,” Jung announces. “The alpha you are meeting requires you to dress up a bit. We have outfits in the closet. He’ll knock three times before entering. You have 5 minutes to decide if you want to spend a rut with him or not. If not, press the blue button on the remote.”

“Okay,” Felix walks on shaky legs to the bed as Jung closes the door. Felix sits and puts his head between his thighs as he tries to keep his breathing under control. He can do this. He can. Maybe the alpha will be a nice guy. He’s a VIP and wealthy. This can be a good thing. It really can.

Standing up, he heads to the closet and sees lingerie. Felix blushes. He puts on a baby blue one-piece that has thongs attached. The thongs suck into his ass and it feels so weird. Wiggling, on the bed, there are three knocks, and then the door is opening.

Felix wants to throw up, he’s so nervous.

In walks, the hottest alpha Felix has ever seen. Not that Felix has seen many alphas but this man is just so incredibly good-looking. He has shoulder-length black hair with sharp eyes and such a strong jawline. He’s definitely taller than Felix with broader shoulders but still a slim build. His lips. Oh goodness, Felix has never seen plush lips on an alpha before. Felix blushes.

“Well, fuck me,” the alpha runs a hand through his hair. “I told Chan to get me the hottest omega but damn, he outdid himself.”

Felix flushes red.

“Me?” Felix asks, and the alpha laughs as he approaches the bed.

“Yes, you,” Hyunjin grins. “I’m Hyunjin Hwang and you?”

“Felix,” the omega closes his mouth; forgetting about using a fake name. “I mean I’m Yongbok, but…oh well, I already told you.”

Felix sighs and Hyunjin laughs.

“Christ, you’re cute,” Hyunjin grins. “My first time seeing you, though, are you new?”

“Um yeah,” Felix nods. “First day.”

“Lucky me, then,” Hyunjin grins. “So, what are some of your likes? My secretary booked you and said you only put cuddles down. I want this to be good for you as well.”

“Oh, they told me you would know what Prize meant,” Felix bites his lip.

“Prize?” Hyunjin frowns. “Sorry, darling, but my secretary handles all that. So, I’m not really sure what you mean.”

“I’m a virgin,” Felix whispers like a secret.

Hyunjin’s entire mood changes, as if his sanity is being held on by a thin thread.

“I know we aren’t supposed to ask but why would a virgin work here?” Hyunjin asks. “Is someone making you do this?”

Felix hugs his knees.

“Say the word and I’ll protect you,” Hyunjin seems like he means it; too.

“My mom is dying,” Felix whispers. “No job will hire me because I’m an uneducated omega. I’m only uneducated because all the colleges kept turning me away for being an omega. I start school soon, though. But my dad, he can’t afford her treatment. He doesn’t know I’m here. I just wanted to help her.”

“So, you’re selling your body?” Hyunjin frowns. “Wouldn’t she be disappointed to know that you’re working here for her sake?”

“Of course,” Felix shouts with tears in his eyes. “But I can’t watch her die. She’s everything to me. She’s…” Felix cries harder and Hyunjin reaches out, bringing the omega to his chest.

“What’s her name?” Hyunjin asks.

“Marcela Lee,” Felix sniffles and gets a strong wave of Hyunjin’s pheromones. They smell like almond and pine. They are comforting and the omega finds himself climbing in the alpha’s lap, sticking his nose in the alpha’s neck to inhale more of the scent.

“Where is she located at?” Hyunjin starts rubbing Felix’s back and the omega gets lost in the alpha’s scent.

“The big Cancer Institute off 5th Street,” Felix mumbles. “Why?”

“Hold that thought…” Hyunjin shuffles Felix and gets out his phone before putting it on speaker. “Lee, call the hospital at Cancer Institute off 5th St. They have a patient named Marcela Lee. Tell them she’s now a VIP under Hyunjin Hwang and all treatment costs get billed to him.”

“Do I want to know?” this Lee person asks.

“Just do it,” Hyunjin sighs and hangs up.

Felix looks at the alpha with his mouth open. Fresh tears piling back up.

“Oh, no, don’t cry again,” Hyunjin wipes Felix’s face. “You’re too beautiful when you cry. I can’t take it.”

“You…you’re going to pay for her treatment?” Felix asks. This has to be a cruel joke.

“You remind me of my brother,” Hyunjin smiles. “He’s an omega and was put in a bad position once, and I wasn’t around to save him. I don’t want you to do something you’ll regret for the sake of your mother, who would be disappointed in you if she found out.”

“I don’t…what can I do to thank you?” Felix asks, desperately. He’ll do anything.

“Well, I am in rut,” Hyunjin blinks. “I’m not that good of a guy to pass up on a willing omega. So, are you still willing?”

For the first time since this whole ordeal, Felix is finally clear in a decision.

“Yes, I’m willing,” Felix grins and Hyunjin’s smile turns into a predatory smirk. He connects their lips together and grips Felix’s hips as he grinds their groins.

“I’m absolutely going to enjoy this,” Hyunjin states as he takes off his shirt.

Felix is willing to go along for the ride. He’ll trust this alpha and looks forward to what’s going to happen next.
