Chapter Text

Jimin’s eyes slowly opened when the natural light hit his eyes through the window. He squinted to gauge about how early in the morning it was based on the placement of the sun in the sky, and deduced that it was far too late for him to still be in bed with the duke he’d fucked the night prior.

He stretched his arms above his head and felt the omega’s head nuzzling against his chest, immediately growing a distaste for how the hair tickled his bare skin. Jimin slid out from under the duke, not really bothering to move slowly so as not to disrupt the omega. Sure enough, William woke up with a grumble at the loss of body warmth, rubbing his eyes and looking over to see Jimin pulling on his pants.

He frowned as he sat up, dragging the blanket over his exposed lower body.

“Why are you up?” William yawned.

“It’s past sunrise, I gotta go.” Jimin answered, avoiding the duke’s eyes watching his movements.

“Go? What’s so pressing that you have to leave so early in the morning?”

“I have to get back home before my dad lectures me for being out so late.”

The omega frowned as Jimin buttoned up his shirt.

“Doesn’t your father know you’re here?” William asked, receiving a confused, furrowed brow look from the prince.

“Why would I tell him I’m here?”

The attitude in which he answered what William felt was a very fair question had the duke’s expression turning sour.

“Um, perhaps because we’ve been at this for a while now?”

“Yeah, I’m not telling my dad I’ve been fucking around with some duke for three months. He’d chew me out even more than he already does for sleeping with the servants.”

William’s eyes nearly popped out of his head as he sat up straighter, completely awake now.

“What the fuck do you mean you’ve been sleeping around with the servants?” William demanded, earning a snort from the alpha.

“What? Did you think I was only seeing you?”

“Uh, fucking yes? I thought we were exclusive, according to what you’ve been saying every time we’ve fucked since the ball you attended here.”

Jimin’s scoff turned into genuine laughter, the cadence of it dripping with mockery.

“William, are you stupid? What the fuck did I say that made you think I wanted to be exclusive?”

“The fact that you said the  ‘you’re all mine’ and ‘no one else can touch you’ bullshit, that’s fucking what.”

William’s face was flushed, and his frustration turning to rage with every condescending remark that came out of the alpha prince’s mouth.

“Yeah, that was just sex talk. I didn’t mean it.” Jimin explained like it was obvious. “If you actually stuck to it and didn’t sleep with anyone else, that’s really not my problem.”

“I thought we were going to eventually marry our two kingdoms together, you asshole!” William raised his voice, and Jimin doubled over now with how hard he was laughing at such a wild notion.

“Oh man, you are truly a delusional omega, dear prince.” Jimin wiped the tears coming to his eyes. “Our kingdoms are already on good terms, we’d have nothing to gain from marrying them together. Plus, I want to have at least a little emotional attraction to whoever I’m going to mate for life.”

“So everything you said was just a lie to get me to sleep with you?” William demanded, practically seeing red as Jimin continued to rip his heart apart so carelessly.

“I mean, if you want to see it that way, then sure. I just really didn’t think you were that naive to believe me.” William was frozen with shock as Jimin collected himself and pulled his coat on before giving the duke one last look. “If you’ll excuse me, I need to get ready for the ball tonight. I’m meant to choose my mate.”

With that, he gave a satirical bow before heading toward the door.

“You fucking bastard!” Jimin heard William say from over his shoulder before feeling the pillow that the omega had thrown at him hit his back.

Jimin simply snorted as he exited, not bothering to close the door behind him. He walked out of the castle like he owned the place, giving a slight bow to the duke’s servants that he walked by to keep the peace before heading out the front and to the carriage that he’d ordered to wait throughout the night for him.

“Take me back home.” Jimin ordered the coachman as he plopped down in the seat.

“Yes, your highness.” The young man bowed, closing the door behind Jimin and hopping up onto his place to snap the reins.

Jimin was still chuckling to himself as he remembered the look on William’s face. Of course he was well aware that the duke was falling for him—Jimin had made sure to swoon the omega. It was part of the fun with his little affairs, and he wanted to live up the last of it before he had to wed and mate with another prince.

Of course his father knew what Jimin was up to, and he simply laughed it off most of the time. However, once Jimin married two kingdoms together through wedding a prince, his father would not stand for Jimin potentially ruining the truce with his infidelity. At first, the alpha prince was disappointed, but he was not completely illogical.

It was perfectly understandable that Jimin’s sexual prowess was not worth threatening the sanctity of a marriage truce, so Jimin vowed to quit his lustful urges once mated. The duke was Jimin’s last escapade, and after tonight, he would have to decide on a prince to commit to.

He sighed and slouched in the seat of the carriage, looking out the window as the sun slowly rose and took its place in the sky. His father might reprimand him for being out the night before the courting ball, but he knew his dad, and one crude joke would make the king simply roll his eyes and excuse the somewhat reckless decision on behalf of his son. Jimin was the spitting image of his dad, and therefore the king could not chastise the alpha prince too harshly for engaging in the same behaviors that he once had.

Within an hour, Jimin was waltzing back into the castle his family resided in, winking at the servants whom he’d slept with as they blushed and continued their chores. Though Jimin would no longer be sleeping with other regal figures after his marriage, there was no doubt he would continue sneaking away from time to time with servants. Whatever prince he mated with would never have to know about it, and wouldn’t have senses strong enough to be able to smell the foreign scents on Jimin anyway.

“Well well well.” The king greeted Jimin with his arms crossed. “Back from your night out, I see?”

Jimin snickered and gave his dad a charming smile. “Just saying goodbye to a good old friend one last time.”

And just like that, Jimin’s dad chuckled and playfully rolled his eyes like the prince knew he would.

“Just go get some rest so you’re alert for tonight. I’ll need you to be completely attuned, for obvious reasons.”

“Of course, your majesty.” Jimin gave a performative bow, failing to hide his giggling as his father shook his head with a smirk.

With that, Jimin went to his room, commanding his servants to disrobe him before flopping into bed.

“Make sure absolutely no one bothers me until I have to start getting ready for tonight.” Jimin warned his personal servant before pulling the covers over himself and falling asleep almost instantly, a cocky smile on his face as he replayed the final incident in his head before knocking out.

“See anything you like, son?” The king asked Jimin as the two scanned the room.

Jimin was fiddling with the broach that his mother had pinned to his coat. It had the seal of his kingdom on it to display to the suitable princes exactly who he was and how they should behave accordingly. He was feeling properly energized after sleeping through most of the day, and as his father had required of him, Jimin was alert and following the actions of the regal omegas and betas entering his castle for the courting ball.

All of the princes were standing near their fathers, mingling amongst themselves. Some of them stuck up their noses and acted far too poised for the event, while others looked scared shitless. The most confident ones were omegas, knowing they were in the pool most likely to be chosen from. The other betas were lucky to even be invited, very well aware of the fact that they sat on the lower rung of the hierarchy given their reproductive biology and how it was far less conducive to the type of regal offspring that the Park family was expecting.

“Many of them are beautiful, but none have particularly stood out to me so far.” Jimin answered. “Are these all of them?”

“There’s still a few more coming.”

“Late to such an important event?” Jimin tsked. “That might mar my impression of them.”

“Some of the princes are traveling farther than others to attend.” The king said. “Perhaps one of them will pique your interest.”

“Possibly.” Jimin shrugged, side eyeing his father with a malicious smirk. “Or perhaps I might have a better feeling if I get to test run a few of them before deciding on a mate.”

His father tried to glare at him, but he couldn’t resist his son’s humor, and simply chortled.

“Those days are in the past, young prince.” The king shook his head. “Now get ready, I’m going to announce the waltz to take place in just a moment.”

Jimin eyed a few more princes in the crowd, trying to gauge who he was going to ask to dance with first. He was eager for them to begin walking up with their fathers to introduce themselves soon, for their presence and voice and scent would all play into his attraction to them.

Soon the music stopped and the king stood, directing the attention to himself.

“Good evening, everyone.” He opened his arms to demonstrate a sign of welcome. “Thank you to everyone who has traveled here to attend this special occasion. I would like to extend a warm welcome to all of our kings, queens, and princes who have graced us with your presence tonight.”

Jimin admired his father as he managed to speak with both gratitude and respect while simultaneously maintaining an authoritative tone. The alpha prince hoped that he would soon transform his domineering energy from condescending to elegant like his father had mastered. It definitely demonstrated the difference between a prince to a king, and Jimin made it a point to begin taking his father’s character as a serious role model.

“The waltz will now commence, and I encourage every suitor to make their way up and introduce themselves during this time. If Prince Jimin invites any of you lonely princes to a dance, be sure to clear the center of the floor for their waltz.”

The king clapped his hands together, signaling for the orchestra to begin playing the classical piece for the main event of the ball. One by one, the princes made their way up the steps to Jimin and his father, bowing and introducing themselves and from which kingdom they reign. Jimin was polite and charming and made his father proud with every interaction, however it began to concern the king that his son hadn’t invited a single one of the princes to dance by the time the line of guests were nearly finished.

“Son, are you waiting to be through with all of them before you ask one to the waltz?” Jimin’s father whispered to him as some of the final princes made their way to the steps with their fathers.

“I guess.” Jimin shrugged. “I haven’t really been drawn to any of them yet.”

“None of them?” His father arched his brow. “They’re all rather beautiful.”

“Indeed they are. I suppose my standards might just need to drop a couple notches.” Jimin admitted.

The king held back a smug smile as another omega prince ascended the steps with his father. Each prince had given Jimin flirtatious eyes and welcoming body language, to which the alpha prince had picked up on immediately. Jimin was used to his partners throwing themselves at him, so it was nothing surprising, and nothing that the alpha prince didn’t expect.

But for some reason, none of the gorgeous princes were enticing Jimin enough. King Park was on the verge of sending his son down the steps to simply begin asking princes to dance, before the final suitor entered the ballroom over an hour late.

Jimin looked over to the doors as they opened, a king who appeared rather exasperated entering first. His son trailed closely behind him, his head bowed and his shoulders slightly hunched. Immediately Jimin felt an appeal to the mysterious prince, and he tapped his father’s shoulder to get his attention.

King Park’s eyes followed where Jimin nodded to, landing on the tardy king and his son. He subtly motioned for his servant to retrieve the pair, and within minutes, the king and his son were wading through the crowd of guests to make way toward Jimin and his father. As they got closer and Jimin got a better look, his heartbeat picked up in excitement. The prince still had his head down as he followed his father, but Jimin could analyze the son.

He appeared to be rather tall, his attire suiting his body well despite not appearing quite as regal as the other princes, and his brunette hair looked incredibly soft as it was not concealed under a crown like the rest of the princes. Perhaps he’d forgotten it on their rush over, but there was something about the lack of the crown’s presence on the prince's head that fascinated Jimin even more.

Finally, the two were at the top of the steps, standing before Jimin and his father. They both bowed, to which Jimin and King Park mirrored out of custom.

“I apologize for our tardiness, King Park.” The king before them expressed, sincerely. “Our carriage lost a wheel and it took quite a lot of effort to replace.”

“It’s alright.” King Park reassured them with a warm smile. “We are honored that you made the journey here, as your kingdom is the farthest from us.”

King Park turned to his son, holding out a hand to the guests to address who he was talking about.

“Son, this is King Kim and his son Prince Kim.” He then looked at the royal pair. “Your majesties, this is my son, Prince Jimin.”

It took Jimin by surprise. They were one of the few kingdoms that Jimin had been aware of before the introductions tonight. The Kim kingdom was just as powerful as the Parks, and it was rather peculiar to Jimin why they would even feel the need to marry to a fellow royal family with the leverage they already held.

“It’s a pleasure to meet you, Prince Jimin.” King Park and Taehyung bowed once more.

Taehyung’s face was still covered by his hair as he looked down at the steps. He had no particular scent, indicating that he was a beta. It was rare that Jimin held any attraction for betas, and he wasn’t quite prepared for the lack of aroma Taehyung emitted.

“The pleasure is mine.” Jimin responded, a playful smile on his face as realized only Taehyung’s father was speaking. “Prince Kim, it’s an honor to meet you. Although I don’t know if I’m properly in your presence since I haven’t quite seen your face.”

King Kim immediately picked up on what the alpha prince wanted, and gently nudged his son. The prince seemed to understand, and released the breath he was holding before finally straightening his neck so he could see Jimin face to face.

The minute Taehyung lifted his eyes enough to meet Jimin’s, the alpha prince nearly lost his breath from the beauty. They were the most hypnotizing hazel green that Jimin had ever seen, slightly veiled by the dark brown curls of Taehyung’s bangs, and it was in that instant that Jimin knew.

“What’s your name?” Jimin asked the prince, surprising his father.

It was rather forward to inquire such an informal question so soon, but he was relieved nonetheless that at least his son was showing any curiosity in one of the princes at last.

“Taehyung.” King Kim answered for his son.

It wasn’t so much that the king was beating Taehyung to the punch—it more so appeared that the prince had no intention of answering. Or if he did, he made little effort to show it.

“That’s pretty.” Jimin nodded politely to his father before looking back at Taehyung. “Do you like your name?”

After a beat of silence, Taehyung’s eyes went back to locking on the floor, and his father nervously cleared his throat.

“Um, the thing is…Prince Kim doesn’t really talk.”

Both Jimin and his father’s eyes widened and they shared a glance before turning their attention back to King Kim.

“I beg your pardon?” King Park clarified. “He doesn’t talk?”

“At all?” Jimin added on to his father’s query.

“Not particularly.” King Kim sighed, putting his hand on Taehyung’s back. “It was around the time he was supposed to present, that he just stopped talking out of nowhere.”

“Did something happen?” Jimin asked, utterly puzzled by the unexpected explanation for Taehyung’s silence.

“Not that we’re aware of. He was always rather shy, and stuck to his mother’s side. I think after all those years of keeping to himself, he kind of just stopped trying to communicate at all.”

Taehyung’s father looked uncomfortable having to talk about his son as if he weren’t standing right next to him, but the prince didn’t seem to mind. He remained very focused on the floor, and Jimin wasn’t certain Taehyung was even paying attention to the conversation they were having about him.

“Well, I’m sorry to hear that.” King Park gave his most convincing apology, though it was clear to Jimin that he was writing off the Kims for suitors as he turned to Jimin. “Son, do yo—”

“Would you like to dance?” Jimin suddenly asked the beta prince.

Taehyung’s eyes peeked up from under his bangs, glancing at his father as if to make sure he’d heard right.

“Yes, you.” Jimin chuckled, answering the nonverbal question on Taehyung’s mind as he held out a hand to the beta. “Would you like to dance?”

Taehyung’s eyes flicked nervously to Jimin’s, then back to his father’s. Clearly, King Kim was meant to be his translator.

“Taehyung doesn’t dance.” His father eventually answered for him apologetically. “We tried to get him to learn, but he didn’t seem to like it. He refused to go back on the floor after one lesson.”

“Sounds like he's quite stubborn, hm?” Jimin arched his eyebrow, and if Taehyung had seen it, he’d have picked up on the slightly malicious curve to his full lips. “Well then, would you like to go for a walk with me?”

Taehyung, once again, looked at his father, who shrugged and gave an encouraging smile.

“How about it, Taehyung. Do you want to walk with Jimin?” He asked. “It might do you good to get some fresh air.”

Jimin noted how it seemed as though Taehyung’s father needed to convince him to do anything. With Jimin’s upbringing, he wasn’t ever given a choice. He just did as he was told. He had to earn his independence by proving that he’s a competent, fearless leader, now worthy of marrying together kingdoms with another prince and extending their golden legacy.

Taehyung, on the other hand, presumably just got babied by his parents. He didn’t want to talk, so they let him stay silent. He didn’t want to dance, so they didn’t make him. Now his father is having to coax him into a walk, all the while Taehyung’s mouth remains shut.

“I don’t bite, I promise.” Jimin added, trying to get the other prince to warm up to him.

Taehyung glanced at his father one more time before placing his limp hand in Jimin’s, the large size of it surprising the alpha prince in how it almost completely covered his own. Jimin smiled in satisfaction and led the beta outside, calling over to their fathers.

“We’ll be back in just a short while.”

Jimin’s father nodded to him while Taehyung’s father just looked a little nervous to have his son out of his sight. For ruling such a powerful kingdom, it was curious how King Kim could appear so easily shaken. Now it made sense to Jimin why such a domineering royal family would need to conjoin powers with another. It was evident to Jimin that Taehyung’s father was most likely unsure about his son’s ability to lead, and wedding him to a more commanding alpha prince was probably his plan of securing their sovereignty.

Once outside, Taehyung pulled his hand from Jimin's, holding them stiffly at his sides. Jimin noticed as they walked that Taehyung was even taller than he’d originally thought. His poor posture from hunching his shoulders and seemingly trying to hide within himself made him appear to be shorter.

“So, you really don’t talk, huh?” Jimin started off the conversation, which would seem to be pretty one sided seeing as the beta gave no answer. “That’s a shame, you’re really pretty. I bet you have a nice voice to match it.”

Taehyung kept his eyes forward. He didn’t seem quite as docile as before, but still nowhere near as confident as the other omegas inside. While those princes were clawing for Jimin’s attention, Taehyung gave off the impression that he couldn’t really care less for it, which only made Jimin want him more.

“Well, it’s alright. I’m sure I could convince you to talk sooner or later.” Jimin said, the insinuation in his word choice evident. “You know, I’m meant to pick a mate by the end of the night, and no one has really stood out to me until you came.”

Jimin knew that if this were any other prince, they would be swooning over discovering such a fact. Taehyung’s expression remained unchanged.

“My father is excited to see our family legacy carried out. We come from a long line of alpha males, our subjects consider us to be blessed by the gods. It’s of the utmost importance that my mate can continue the magnificence of our family tree through providing exceptional offspring.” Jimin continued, a cocky smirk on his face as he snuck a glance over at Taehyung. “You look like you’d be perfect for carrying our future children.”

It was enthralling how, no matter what, nothing Jimin said could crack Taehyung’s exterior. He was doing his best to get a rise out of the beta—something he thought himself to be pretty good at—but nothing could make him budge.

“If I were to choose you tonight, do you know what will happen in the following days?” Jimin didn’t bother waiting for an answer he wouldn’t be getting. “You’ll go home and collect your things. When you come back to me tomorrow morning, my servants will get you ready for our wedding ceremony. In front of both of our families, we’ll accept the oath of marrying our kingdoms together through our matrimony, and spend the first night together to consummate the marriage. Then, the next day, is the mating ritual.”

Jimin was getting excited just thinking about it, lost in his own fantasies he was having with the silent beta walking next to him.

“With the mating ritual, the omega or the beta comes in and strips their clothes before their alpha in the throne room.” Jimin had an evil grin on his face. “You’d kneel before me and I would come and mark you. Then, we’d go out into town on a carriage and ride through the town in our royal cloaks to present your mark to our subjects as a promise to serve them dutifully, and your promise to carry on our legacy.”

Taehyung didn’t utter a word or alter his expression throughout Jimin explaining it to him in a taunting tone. It was practically pointless to even return to the gala by the time they’d rounded back to the castle’s entrance, seeing as Jimin already had his decision locked in. All it took was verbalizing it to the beautiful beta prince beside him to come to his conclusion.

Before they entered, Jimin stood before Taehyung, taking his hand to get the beta to look him in the eyes. When standing face to face, Jimin had to tilt his head up to match the beta’s gaze, which only allured him more.

“I think you’ll make a fine husband, Taehyung. Your beauty and submission are beneficial, and in time I’m certain you’ll come around to speaking with me.”

Taehyung’s green eyes locked in with Jimin’s, mesmerizing the alpha prince. Jimin beamed with desire, and he turned to lead Taehyung back into the ballroom, a malevolent smile on his face.

“I can’t wait to be wed to you.”

***

Jimin watched eagerly from the balcony as Taehyung and his father ascended the steps to their castle the following morning. The alpha prince hadn’t stopped fantasizing about Taehyung since he’d kissed his hand goodnight as the king and beta prince exited the ball. Now, in the daylight, Taehyung looked even more stunning than he had the night before under the chandeliers and glow from the moon.

“You know you’re not supposed to see your husband before the ceremony.” Jimin’s father scolded him as he approached. The alpha prince looked over at his father, the two sharing the same mischievous look as the king came to stand next to his son. “I have to say, while I’m not particularly surprised that you picked him, I am a bit uncertain about the outcome of this marriage.”

Jimin frowned, slightly offended by the comment. “What makes you say that?”

“The fact that you don’t even know what he sounds like.” The king answered frankly. “I'm aware that you see him as a challenge, but you have to remember, this marriage is for life. Once you mate him, you’re in charge of making sure our kingdoms rule in unity for every generation to come.”

“I know.” Jimin said, looking back out at the view. “That’s why I picked him. He’s so compliant, he’ll go along with whatever I say. And he’s so beautiful, the eminence of our lineage will only strengthen.”

“Do you take his silence as compliance?” His father raised an eyebrow at his son, challenging his logic.

“He can’t ever argue with me if he won't speak.” Jimin shrugged. “I think that’s a good indicator that he’ll follow my lead accordingly.”

“I suppose you make a good point.” The king nodded, glancing at his son. “We are counting on you to empower our legacy beyond its already established grandeur. Your mother and I won’t be around forever, I don’t want all of the training and work you’ve put in to go to waste if he isn’t the husband you’re aspiring for.”

“I trust my intuition.” Jimin turned to his father, speaking with sincerity as he cracked a grin. “You and mom have taught me well.”

The father and son shared a rare moment of vulnerability, as opposed to their usual lighthearted banter. It was times like this that Jimin was grateful for the bond he and his father shared, as compared to some other royal families who were painfully stiff and never opened up to one another.

“Your highness?” Jimin’s personal servant walked onto the terrace and bowed to the pair, receiving a scowl from the alpha prince.

“What?” He demanded, frustrated at the disturbance of this heartwarming moment.

“I apologize for the disruption. King Kim and Prince Kim are in the throne room awaiting you.”

With that, the father and son’s demeanor shifted and Jimin’s scowl turned into a look of anticipation.

“Perfect. Tell them I will be right down.” The king excused the servant before glancing at his son on his way out. “You ought to go get ready. Your future husband will be awaiting you in a couple hours.”

“I’ll look as sharp as you.” Jimin winked ironically at his father.

The king chuckled, giving one last, inquisitive look to his son

“You’re sure you want him?” King Park asked for the final time. “He doesn’t talk, he won’t even make a sound.”

“I can get him to make some sounds.” Jimin smirked, the implication obvious.

King Park snorted, shaking his head at his son’s shamelessness. He knew his son far too well, and he knew that Taehyung’s beauty—while it was initially what drew Jimin to the beta prince—now was only an added treat to the challenge. Jimin saw Taehyung’s silence as a test to his dominance, and King Park knew that his son’s mind was set the minute he found out there was a barrier Jimin would have to break through.

“And if he won’t talk even after the consummation?” Jimin’s dad asked, the alpha prince gaining a devious glint in his eyes.

“I’ll make him.”

Taehyung was another battle to conquer. That’s what made Jimin so certain he wanted him beyond just his striking beauty, and the king trusted his son, accepting the alpha prince’s confidence.

“Alright, I’ll see you at the ceremony.” King Park bid his son goodbye, leaving Jimin to sit and enjoy the final moments of suspense.

As expected, once Jimin entered the church for their wedding ceremony, his eyes landed on Taehyung and his breath caught in his throat. The beta was so gorgeous it was heartbreaking, and Jimin couldn’t wait for Taehyung to be all his.

He walked up the steps to where the preacher stood at the podium, giving a polite bow to both before reaching out for Taehyung’s hands. The beta prince wore the violet cloak of the Kim kingdom, Jimin sporting the royal blue from his own.

Jimin’s eyes were glued on Taehyung, only half listening to the preacher as he gave his long speech about what this unification meant for their kingdoms. Jimin felt himself getting too excited as he analyzed Taehyung’s every feature, and he’d already begun calculating how to shape him into the perfect prince, starting with the consummation.

Before Jimin knew it, the preacher handed one gold goblet to Jimin, the other to Taehyung, and tied the thin red rope around the stems. He instructed the two to drink the wine in each goblet, and the audience stood in respect for the two princes, who turned and bowed to them. Jimin couldn’t keep the excitement off of his face, the polarity between his expression and Taehyung’s flat one receiving an uneasy reaction from those standing in the pews.

“My love, let me lead you to the honeymoon chambers.” Jimin smiled charmingly at the beta, taking his hand and gracefully floating down steps of the stage.

Taehyung followed the alpha prince down the aisle, passing by their fathers on the way out.

“Good luck, young princes.” King Park wished them, leaning in to whisper in Jimin’s ear. “Go easy on him.”

“Don’t count on it.” Jimin whispered back, causing his father to chuckle, standing straight and waving at them once more. Taehyung's father hugged his son and said something into the prince's ear before releasing the embrace, the perpetual expression of worry never leaving the king's face.

Soon the couple were ascending the stairs and removing themselves from the crowds. Jimin held Taehyung’s hand and led him up to the tallest tower the designated room, where he’d ordered his servants to prepare in the silk sheets and beguiling wedding decor. He felt himself getting harder in his pants the closer they got, his grip on Taehyung’s hand tightening with exhilaration as they made it to their destination.

“Here we are, my prince.” Jimin grinned devilishly, opening the door and making a motion for Taehyung to enter.

The beta looked both ways, checking the hallways for any signs of life.

“Don’t worry, darling.” Jimin said in an ominous tone. “No one is in this section of the castle tonight to hear us. I made sure of it.”

Taehyung avoided Jimin’s eyes as he walked into the room at last. Jimin had to hold back from giggling in excitement as he followed in and turned back to lock the door so that no one could disturb them.

Within a millisecond of the brass key clicking the latch in place, Jimin was pinned to the door, his cheek pressed against the wood with Taehyung’s fingers gripping his hair, shoving his face against it. Both of Jimin’s hands were gathered above his head to be pinned down, and from just a couple seconds of trying to free himself from Taehyung’s hold, the alpha prince could tell that no amount of thrashing would get him out of it.

Astonished wasn’t even close to the emotion Jimin felt as he stood helpless beneath who he thought was going to be his meek little husband—the beta prince now laughing maliciously behind him. It was the first sound Jimin had heard Taehyung make, and it racked fear through his bones.

The taller prince leaned in, ghosting his lips over Jimin’s ear.

“Oh, darling,” Taehyung rasped, causing Jimin’s breath to catch in his throat from how deep and gruff the voice was. “You’re going to regret choosing me for the rest of your life.”

Crippling dread overcame Jimin, compelling him to relentlessly fight the unshakable grip Taehyung had on him.

“Go ahead and scream for help.” Taehyung’s lips yielded into a demonic grin. “No one is on this side of the castle tonight to hear. You made sure of it.”

The cruel irony of Jimin’s own action he’d previously bragged about being used against him had his face flushing red.

“What the fuck are you doing?” Jimin choked out through his terror, perplexed at how the prince could be so much stronger than him to make him this powerless. “How are you so strong as a beta?”

Taehyung laughed again, the vibrations from the low timbre of his voice against his chest sending chills up Jimin’s back as he felt it.

“I’m no beta, baby boy.” Taehyung pressed Jimin harder against the door. “I’m an Enigma. And you’re gonna be the bitch that carries our legacy.”
