In typical househusband fashion, Atticus was in the kitchen, trying to decide what to make for dinner.
His wife and son weren’t particularly picky eaters. While this fact should’ve made the task much easier, it really just made it much harder, due to the fact that every suggestion was faced with indifference.
So of course he goes into the pantry, going to dig around in there for something he can turn into an edible meal. As one does.
Digging around, he finds - oh my! Tortillas! The holy grail!
Oh good Lord, they’re expired.
Expired by…
One year and three months!
Jesus Christ. How on Earth did anyone in the house let this slide? Atticus was personally ashamed.
He grabbed the tortilla packet to go throw it away, only to physically recoil when he realized that the tortillas inside were rock hard. Rock solid.
Well now his curiosity was piqued.
Picking up the packet again, he went over to the counter, opening up the tortillas.
Oh dear Lord.
Atticus lightly tapped a tortilla against the counter, flinching at the sound it made. He then put more force behind it.
It was like hitting rocks together-
On a burst of impulse and little to no critical thinking, Atticus threw the tortilla at the wall like a frisbee, causing a tortilla-shaped dent.
“Holy shit.” Atticus muttered.
Lila ran into the room to see Atticus staring in awe, bewilderment, and shock at the tortilla-shaped hole in the wall.
“Atticus what the hell did you do??” She asked incredulously.
Atticus simply looked at her. “Dear, I think these tortillas are expired.” He tapped another tortilla against the counter.
“…What??”
