standing on the balcony of his room while tracing the stars in the sky is a way lucifer passed the time when he couldn't sleep.
once he moved permanently into the hotel he had been having problems sleeping. when he was by himself in his castle he would pass the time by making ducks but he hasn't brought his equipment to his new room yet so
he did something he hadnt done for long time, now thinking about it, it sounded pretty pathetic but it helpped anyways.
he looked up at the white dot in the dark sky which was heven, the place he was born and sometimes missed
when lucifer was younger and earth still hadn't been created yet his dad, god, was thinking of some ideas for earth when lucifer came into his room and asked to make something to put on earth. god agreed and thats how the stars were made, by the idea of a child
and how he missed the stars so dearly, he would give anything to see them once more but since the death of adam he knew heven was pissed and would most definitely not give lucifer permission to go to earth
now the only way lucifer could remember the stars and constellations he made was by tracing them with his finger in the air
waking up to the feeling of the other side of his bed being empty made alastor get up in search for lucifer, alastor saw the door to their balcony slightly opened and walked out to the balcony, seeing lucifer seemingly drawing or waving his finger in the air made alastor raise an eyebrow in confusion
"lucifer dear, what are you doing? its late you shouldnt be up, you need your rest" hearing the voice of his lover behind him made lucifer turn around and smile sadly at alastor "sorry al, i'll be in bed soon....i just couldnt sleep..." alastor walked up to lucifer and stood next to him, leaning on the railing. "whats on your mind, dear?" alastor's voice was always comforting to lucifer and he knew alastor would never judge him for his silly problem
"when you were alive did you like the stars?" lucifer's question came as a surprise to alastor but he answered honestly nonetheless "when i was alive i lived in the middle of the city, the bright city lights never gave me a chance to get a good look at the stars, but when i went out hunting far from the city i did think they were beautiful" lucifer had always liked hearing the stories of when alastor was human even if they were the stories of his murders he liked it either way "i miss the stars, i want to see them again. do you think thats stupid, al?" lucifer quite and sad voice mad alastors heartbreak
"not at all. there are things i miss on earth too, its normal. you could ask husk or angel and im sure they would tell you something they miss as well" alastor's reassuring voice made lucifer smile. "thanks, al. lets go to bed now"
they went back into their room and cuddled up to each other in bed. alastor was looking down at lucifer who was in his arms. with half lidded eyes lucfier muttered a tiny 'i love you' before he fell fast asleep. alastor smiled at this and kissed him gently on his head before also falling asleep.
the next morning after breakfast alastor had told everyone that he had and erren to run and would be back soon. no one knew where he was going so charlie decided to ask lucifer. "hey, dad, do you know where alastor is going?" charlie's sweet voice came from behind lucifer, he turned around and smiled reassuringly"sorry sweetheart, but i dont know" everyone was hearing their conversation because they were standing the middle of the hotel and everyone was shocked that lucifer didnt know where he was going. if anything lucifer was the first one alastor always told when and where he was going, charlie was second but neither of them knowing was odd.
alastor was now standing in front of the imp building. he walked in and moxxie imdedietly called out for blizo. "h-hey, boss? the radio demon is here!" moxxie called out with a worried voice. blitz came out from his office with a smirk on his face. "well, well, well, if it isn't the famous radio deam! is there anything we can do for you? need us to kill someone?" blitz pushed alastor into his office so he could talk with him and motioned him to sit in front of his desk. "blitzo, right? you guys go to earth to kill people?" alastor's staic covered voice made blitz curious on who the radio demon would want dead. "its blitz, the o is silent, but yes, we do, so how can i help!" blitzo's comment made alastor's smile grow "lend me the book you use to get to the earth (dont ask how alastor knew about the Grimoire, im to lazy to explain and i wont be calling it the Grimoire throughout this fic) and i'll give you all this" alastor pulled out a big stack of cash from his pocket and blitz immediately agreed. "sure, but only for a day!" alastor agreed to blitz's one condition and gave over the money. blitz gave the book to alastor and he left back to the hotel.
its was around 7 pm when alastor arrived back ti the hotel. even though blitz lend him the book without much convincing its still took most if the day to find who had the book the their possession and travel all the way to the imp's building (i don't actually know what ring blitz's office is in sorry). alastor was opening the doors of the hotel when he immediately saw lucifer running and jumping onto him for a hug. alastor caught lucifer before they both fell backwards and hugged him back. "its so late, everyone was worried about you!" lucifer's scolding but worried voice made alastor chuckle. "im sorry, dear. the errend took longer then expected" alastor kissed lucifer's cheek in an apologetic way and walked further into the hotel with alastor still holding lucifer.
charlie ran up to alastor, saying how worried she was and alastor just said the same thing he had explained to lucifer. vaggie, who was standing next to charlie, angel and husk who were at the bar all thought that was an execable answer for someone like alastor. alastor carried lucifer up to their shared room and sat him on the bed.
"i hope your free tomorrow, i have a surprise for you" with that lucifer now had a big smile on his face and pulled alastor into their bed. "really? tell me what it is!" lucifer said with an exited tone as he snapped his finger and changed himself and alastor into their pajamas(lucifer has duck pajamas and alastor has sweatpants on). alastor chuckled and pulled lucifer to his chest as he hugged him. "i cant tell you because then it wont be a surprise anymore, now would it?" lucifer pouted slightly. "i guess your right..." alastor pulled lucifer into a sweet kiss seeing his pout. "now go to sleep so you can find out sooner" lucifer happily closed his eyes after hearing alastor's comment and they both sleep asleep a while after.
the next morning alastor woke up early to make pancakes for lucifer. he brought the tray of duck-shaped pancakes and coffee up to their room and gently woke lucifer up. lucifer looked up sleepily but when he saw the pancakes alastor had made for him lucifer immediately sat up. "here you go, my dear" alastor set the tray of pancakes on lucifer's lap and ruffled his already messed up hair. "thank you, al. but can i ask why your doing this? did i miss something?....omg....IS IT OUR ANAVERARY? IM SORRY, AL-" lucifer was starting to panici but alastor calmed him down with a chuckle "no, its not our anniversary, you didnt miss anything. i just felt like doing something nice" lucifer looked up at alastor with wide eyes "oh....thank you" lucifer smiled softly and leaned slightly upwards to give alastor a small peck on the lips before eating his food.
after eating alastor reminded lucifer of the surprise he had for him and told him that he needed to get dressed. lucifer decided to wear a white button down shirt with a slightly puff sleeves at his wrists, a yellow corset over it, white pants and of course his signature heeled boots and hat. alastor on the other hand decided to wear his normal overly red outfit.
on their way out if the hotel they told charlie that they would be gone all day and to not to worry is they dont come back till night. charlie and vaggei were happy that her father and future father in-law was going to be spending the day having fun and they wished them a good day before they left.
all day alastor had spent taking lucifer out and buying him food, little trinkets and a few more smaller things that caught the king's eye. it was around 8:30 pm when they got back to the hotel, everyone was already up in their rooms with their partners getting ready for bed and lucifer thought they were going to do the same after the fun but tiering day they day. they walked into their room and alastor shut the door behind them but before lucifer could make his way for the bathroom to take a bath alastor stopped him. "where are you going, dear? i still haven't shown you your surprise~" lucifer looked up at alastor in confusion "but we were out all day, wasnt that the surprise?" alastor grined before putting a blindfold over lucifer's eyes. "w-wha- alastor! what are you doing? if you wanted to blindfold you could have just asked~" lucifer smirked playfully "not this time, dear" alastor pulled out the book from an inside pocket he had in his jacket quitely so lucifer wouldnt hear.
alator opend the portal to the human world and guided lucifer into the portal and to where to was going to take him. lucifer noticed a slight change when he walked through the portal but didnt question it. once alator stopped walking he took off lucifer's blindfold.
Lucifer gasped when he saw the opened feild with flowers, the dark night sky and most obviously the human world. lucifer's eyes filled with happy tears and he hugged alastor tightly. "i can't believe you- how- i- thank you so much, alastor..."
lucifer was at a loss for words and had no idea how to properly describe his gratitude for the radio demon.
alastor smiled softly and returned lucifer's hug, gently stroking his head to try and clam him down. "it was no problem. you deserve the best and i will do my best to give it to you. now please dont shed anymore tears, dear. the night is young you must tell me of the stars now that we have the chance"
lucifer happily took alastor's hand and tugged him along to the middle of the flower feild and laid down, looking up at the stars.
The rest of the night was filled with lucifer's chery talking and alastor just laying beside him listening to him talk so passionately about something he never would have guessed interested the king.
By the time they returned back to hell alastor was filled with more knowledge about the human sky then he ever would have he would learn in any life, but he wouldnt have it any other way.
The king immediately fell asleep once he plopped on the bed so alastor snapped his fingers and changed them into their pajamas, quietly getting into bed with lucifer and hugging him close to his chest he head lucifer mutter something. "thank you, al. i love you...." and with that the king was fast asleep. but of course alastor couldn't sleep with responding. "i love you too, sweet dreams, my king"
