Chapter Text
1.
Like her brother, Visenya Targaryen’s Dragon egg went cold in her cradle, turning into a useless grey stone, losing its original dark red color.
That really saddened her parents.
Princess Rhaenyra and Prince Daemon wanted their baby girl to have a hatchling companion growing up with her, bonding with her from the very beginning.
However, their wish left unfulfilled the moment they saw the cold stoned egg.
“It’s alright,” Daemon comforted a disappointed Rhaenyra, “We can find her another one.”
Well, unfortunately, the another egg fell into the same fate, grey consuming its pretty light blue color.
Rhaenyra was stopping baby Visenya biting on the stoned egg.
“No, no, no! My love, don’t bite it!”
“Mayhaps the Gods want her to bond with grown Dragons.”
Daemon tried to convince not just his wife but himself. That would do for their youngest son, Viserys, a boy of three, surprisingly had recently found friendship in the wildest Dragon alive—the infamous Cannibal.
And he too, got cold eggs when he was a babe.
Rhaenyra cradled a babbling Visenya in her arms, rocking gently, trying to put her into sleep.
“Hush, my baby, you will get your own Dragon like all your brothers before you, I promise.”
Rhaenyra and Daemon at first planned to take Visenya back to Dragonstone to find her a Dragon, letting the Dragons who nested there get used to her smell, and saw if one of them would be interested in making friend with their daughter and become her loyal mount for life.
Somehow, King Viserys knew of their plan and strongly opposed that.
“She’s but a babe! It’s too dangerous! She is so tiny and so fragile, look at her! Those Dragons will frighten her little heart.”
Daemon acted fast and prevented three-nameday old Visenya’s small hand from grabbing her grandsire’s Valyrian knife.
Visenya huffed annoyingly. Kepa was always faster.
Though she did not get the pretty knife now, years later, when her grandsire was at his deathbed, he handed this ancient heirloom to her as a farewell gift.
“Brother, she is not a babe anymore. You see, Viserys got bonded with the Cannibal at just three. Visenya will be alright. Need no worry, Your Grace. Rhaenyra and I will not let her get hurt.”
Viserys I was headstrong about this.
“No, it’s not the same. The Cannibal came to little Vis himself not the other way around. I won’t allow you endanger my darling little Visenya’s life. Just wait till she’s older.”
So, Visenya Targaryen waited and waited with extra effort in patience till her sixth nameday and finally she got to visit the rider less Dragons, finding herself a Dragon friend.
She did successfully bond with, not one but two Dragons, which was overly shocking to everyone in the House, and the Realms.
The first and only Targaryen in the history who had ridden two Dragons at the same time.
People hailed Princess Visenya Targaryen as the Dragon Princess.
You ask which two Dragons?
Well, one named Silverwing, once ridden by the Good Queen Alysanne Targaryen, the other named Vermithor or Bronze Fury, once ridden by the Old King Jaehaerys Targaryen.
Rhaenyra and Daemon, with their sons, watched a nine nameday Visenya mount Silverwing, climbing up the sky from afar, Vermithor tailing closely behind his mate.
She knew the moment her daughter was born that she was a special one full of miracle.
Later, they watched Visenya happily hopped off Silverwing and went running to Vermithor, with the help from her oldest brother, Prince Jacaerys, she again got on Dragon back and soared up to the sky with endless energy, laughing wholeheartedly.
It’s beyond cool to have two Dragons!
Visenya was the happiest and luckiest Princess ever!
