Earlier in the day, Icarus had come back from the mines. They told Centross that they were going to take a nap after they showered.
Earning a hum of acknowledgement from their partner, they went off to do what they had just said.
This leads into this current situation
Centross walked into the living room from the workshoo to find their partner on the couch, unmoving. He knew they went to take a nap, but it scared him honestly. Going over to where the avian was curled up, he shook them slightly with no response. He did this a few more times, again no response. Alright.
*Okay.. What's happened?* He tried to think rationally at first. *They are probably just asleep*
"Songbird? Baby, are you okay?" He asked, shaking Ic again, a bit more force than last time, When they didn't respond, he got even more worried. He started pacing for a moment, memories of -their death- when they left racing through his mind.
"No no no not again..." He muttered during his pacing, rational thinking out the window right now.
Centross stopped for a moment when the door opened, looking up at Rae. Both of them looking disheveled in a way.
"Hey-" Rae's voice rasped a bit "Are you alright?" Rae started, concern lacing his voice
Centross had a slight breath of relief at seeing Rae. "Uhh- Not really? Icarus isn't moving at all"
The scientist took a look at Centross then at Icarus, letting out a breathy chuckle. "They're sleeping Centross" He said, walking over to his brother. A baffled look appeared on the reaper's face.
Not long after, Icarus' eyes cracked open, he looked between their brother and their partner with confusion on their face. Causing the god of balance to rush over to his partner.
"Mmm.. What happened..?" Sleep lacing the bird's voice, they looked over to smile at their partner who was now laying his head on their shoulder.
"You fell asleep and scared the living hell out of Centross" Rae chuckled
"Oh.." They reached up, running their fingers through Centross' hair.
"Warn me next time you idiot" He fussed at Icarus, though it was muffled by his current position.
"I will I'm sorry"
"Well, I'll let you two love birds do what you do, see you later Icarus" Rae said, grabbing the thing he came over for, earning a wave from Icarus as he left.
Hours later, If Ven came home to Centross and Icarus cuddling, he sure didn't say anything about it. He just took a picture of the two and went to start on dinner.
