Stay

Summary:

The Seven is like a family so Homelander checks on Starlight at her mother’s house after she goes MIA. She needs some comfort and he needed to be reminded that he may not be all that bad.

Somehow, they both get what they need.

Notes:

Just a random idea floating in the dome. Starlight leaves the Seven after her and Deep's incident. Homelander goes to find her and tries to figure out why.

Just a little writing bc Homelight has NOT BEEN ON THE SCREEN TOGETHER YET.

(See the end of the work for more notes.)

Work Text:

Flying from New York to Iowa had taken 10 minutes, and Homelander wished he could have those wasted ten back. He reached her mother's home and straightened his suit as he approached the front door. Homelander rapped sharply and then waited for a reply. Unable to stop himself from rolling his eyes, he cursed Starlight for wasting his time like this.

He squinted, using his X-ray vision to scan the entire house. He knew the young Supe was in there. He saw her there—just by herself, in what seemed to be the room she grew up in. His disgust returned when he saw childlike remnants of her past life scattered around the room. His patience was wearing thin, and he clenched his jaw.

Homelander could see Starlight on her bed. She wore pajama pants and a comically large T-shirt that was not her size. As he observed through the wall, he raised an eyebrow at the sight of the plushie in her arms. Homelander found it odd, to say the least. The last thing he expected to see was Starlight clinging to a child's toy. He chuckled to himself, a hint of mockery in his expression.

His sneer turned into half surprise and half disdain. Homelander's smirk turned into something else as he heard a pre-recorded voice. The last words, "I'll always keep you safe," hung in the room. Something about his voice coming out of the doll was weird enough; seeing Starlight lugging it around like a safety blanket or something was strange.

Homelander's reaction was almost as if his mind wanted to deny the sight unfolding before him. He'd seen plenty of paraphernalia with his face on it, but Starlight clutching a plushie that spoke in his voice was new. Then it hit him—she held the thing like a toy, like some sacred thing.

It bothered him.

He raised his eyebrows when he saw her talking to the stuffed animal. His frown deepened as he listened more closely to the frustration in her tone, and his eyes strained to see through the darkness around them. "You weren't there…" she then sighed, defeated. It did bruise his ego slightly. Starlight was consoling a shitty stand-in for him and accusing him of failing to protect her.

It irritated him.

Homelander scoffed quietly. "Incredible…" His jaw tightened as his annoyance increased. He should be above all this; he knows that much, but Starlight's words have gotten to him. He observed her raptly, taking in every detail of how she touched the plush. He had no desire, but a part of him wanted to corner her and ask what exactly this strange connection they shared between them was. Yet he reined himself in, deliberately trying to keep from even entering and endeavoring instead just to watch.

He watched Starlight—in her every movement. Only when he heard the soft gasp of an elderly woman did Homelander realize he was not alone. He turned, and the woman was looking down at his cape. He gave her a charming smile, his voice dripping with smoothness. "Hello, ma'am. Can I help you?"

The woman's eyes suddenly grew wide with recognition. A shock of giddy pleasure swirled around her. "Homelander?" She said in a voice too soft to hear.

His eyes and expression glinted with his boyish charm as he chuckled softly. "Indeed," he continued, his tone sleek and refined. "The one and only."

The woman was baffled, clearly fangirling as she looked at him. She glanced at Starlight's home and then turned back to him. "What are you doing here?" She stammered.

The smirk on the Homelander widened as he picked up that tone in her voice, curiosity. He reclined casually and confidently, leaning against one of the wooden porch columns. "Just checking in," he said cooly. "I can't leave any of my Seven feeling abandoned now, could I?"

Her eyes flew open, and her lips parted—as she absorbed the news. Homelander could almost see the gears turning in her head, a sudden curiosity aroused. "One of your team?" She couldn't believe what she heard. "Starlight, you mean, my daughter."

A smile plastered across Homelander's face when the woman only confirmed his suspicion. "Oh my gosh," he said, mockingly expressing shock. He exclaimed, "Ohhhh, you're Starlight's mother… How delightful."

He rocked her back onto his heels as he looked over each inch of everybody. He had to laugh at how different from her daughter she was. "Hmm," he said, eyeing her church clothes. "You're a very religious woman, aren't you?"

When she finally looked up to his scrutinizing gaze, the spark in those deep blue eyes was enough for her cheeks to flush even more. It made her nervously fiddle with her folded hands. As she spoke somewhat defensively, "Yes, I am. I grew up a Christian."

Homelander chuckled lowly, his voice oozing with feigned respect. "Such diligence is commendable," he said as he moved towards her. "Did you guys always get along so well?"

Although his question surprised or startled the woman, she quickly composed herself again. "Absolutely," she said, as only a proud mother can. "Annie—Starlight and I have always been pretty close. We have our differences, but she's always my little girl."

Homelander hummed thoughtfully, his eyes glinting with curiosity. "Differences, you say?" He said, taking another step closer. "What kind of differences, if you don't mind me asking?"

Starlight's mother timidly lowered her eyes; she appeared ill at ease with their conversation. "I think we view life quite differently, then," she cautiously replied, "I always advised her to keep the traditional values and ethical standards, but she took such a different road."

He laughed softly and glanced at her, "Different, you said? I'll take a wild guess that led to the Seven?"

The woman nodded, a mixture of pride and despair on her face. "Yes," she admitted. "All she wanted was to do something extraordinary, And when Vought finally came to her with an offer, she couldn't resist. It was her dream come true…"

Homelander feigned compassion, his voice dripping with fake understanding. "No wonder you could be proud and simultaneously worried," he said, moving closer. "For you, Starlight's transformation into a superhero has got to be a case of emotional rollercoasters."

Glancing at the house, the woman sighed. She nodded before she started. "Yes," she lamented. "Life is like that. She is in a great position that is not open to many others, but on the other hand, I don't want to see her get hurt or sad. Being a hero isn't as beautiful as we thought…"

The woman with similar brown eyes spoke almost a whisper, "One moment, she's meeting her heroes. The next, she's being held down and told her life will be ruined. I would've left as well," she said honestly.

When the woman spoke, Homelander's eyes widened. Something so honest about the pain in her voice left him wholly taken aback by how brutally honest she had been. "Wait a minute there," he surprised her with an exaggerated tone of shock. "Are you also suggesting that Starlight was... mistreated to some extent?"

For a moment, the woman paused, her tone wavering just a bit. "I do not know," she said honestly. "However, she did elude to it maybe once or twice. Not to mention, her attitude when she does arrive is just… off. She is so distant and seems to be elsewhere. As if she is lugging around a heavy load that I will never know about…"

Homelander's gaze flickered between the woman and the scene inside the house. The image of Starlight holding the plushie version of him was almost endearing. He found himself both annoyed and oddly fascinated by it.

Shocked, the woman looked down at her feet, fidgeting nervously. "I..." she began, only to break off with an awkward shift in her body. "I mean, you're Homelander. You are the most powerful superhero this world has ever met. People look up to you. You're… you are a beacon of hope."

Homelander's smirk deepened at her reply. He had become accustomed to praise, but it felt good coming from Starlight's mother. "A beacon of hope, huh?" He was so proud when he said it. "That's exactly what I meant to be—the guardian, the righter of wrongs, the best hero," he stopped and met her eyes. "Starlight, what about her?"

Her glance wavered briefly from his. Homelander's eyes bore into her. "She is a talented girl. She loves people. After all, she is still my gentle little girl..." Starlight's mother trailed off as if she were holding something back. "But… she's so easily won over. She sees good in everybody without ever stopping to think that not everyone deserves that sort of kindness," said the woman angrily.

"I see," said Homelander. He shook his head. "It is common with the young," he said. "They're just too idealistic."

The woman replied in one indignant snort as she snapped back, "This isn't just youth or naiveté. She insists rather stubbornly that people are inherently good. It leaves her open to being manipulated, misused, or even brutalized."

A righteous woman preaches righteousness herself, criticizing her daughter for believing similarly. "A woman of faith," sneered Homelander, "yet judgmental about Starlight's ideals. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't there a certain Carpenter who preached love and forgiveness?"

Blushing with embarrassment, she was not used to being challenged about her beliefs. "Of course not," she retorted defensively. "I can't help but worry about my daughter's future. She has a pure heart, but at the same time, it's poison. This is a world without just saints and angels. People everywhere are grasping for power, lustful for fortune or over-renown."

She fixed her gaze on him, meeting his eyes, which many people have rarely done lately. "At your fancy building, somebody did something to my daughter. And it broke her."

The woman's words came as such a blow that he faltered for a moment, his smirk faltering. His head was still spinning from the shock of the accusation, and the fact Starlight's mother had accused Vought made it even harder to bear. He wouldn't allow himself to get angry. "How do you know somebody at Vought did something to her?'' He snapped.

The woman's expression changed to one of pain as her jaw clenched. "I have no way to know," she said softly when she spoke again, "but I am her mother. I know my daughter and the change in her mood is just different. She's become withdrawn, distant... It's as if a black cloud was hanging over her soul."

Homelander narrowed his eyes briefly as he took in all the information. "If she hasn't told you about it, would we believe she would tell me?" He asked with a raised eyebrow.

For a moment, indecision crossed the woman's face. Her hands started fiddling again as she began to look really uncomfortable with where the conversation was leading. "I… I don't know," she said finally. "Me and Starlight ain't been as tight lately. But…” She stopped, her voice now just a whisper. "I think that someone may be silencing her . Maybe even threatening to harm her."

Homelander winced at what she had said. The idea of someone threatening and bullying Starlight, one of his teammates, made him defensively feral. He wanted to track down the person behind it. "Why would you think that?" His voice was cold and detached as he demanded.

Starlight's mother's eyes flickered up from his gaze to look guiltily away. "Can't you just feel it?" She stammered. "She is different. She flinched at sounds, and shadows startled her. She is always so… on edge and paranoid of what? I don't know."

Homelander turned in disgust, "Can you give me a little privacy?"

The woman was visibly surprised by his sudden request. She scanned him skeptically with apprehension. Then she said, voice quivering. "I... I suppose so. But, be gentle to her, please. She's certainly soft enough these days…"

A thin smile crossed Homelander's lips, and he nodded. "Naturally," he stated, an artificial softness in his voice. "As gentle as a feather."

The woman took a deep breath and stood away to one side, letting him go by. When he had passed her, a wave of irritation rolled over him. He hated that her emotions were affecting his own.

On his way to the front door, he took the porch steps two at a time, glancing toward Starlight's mother. She stared at him with faith and some suspicion. Well, it was clear that she wanted him to try and talk some sense into Starlight.

Homelander chuckled softly to himself. Oh, he would get through to her, alright.

He reached the door and knocked firmly three times. There was a moment of silence, then the sound of soft footsteps approaching from the other side. The door creaked open slowly, revealing Starlight's face.

Her eyes widened at the sight of him, her expression a mix of surprise and concern. "Homelander… what are you doing here?" She asked, her voice shaky.

Homelander smirked, a grin spreading as he saw how shocked she looked. He perched on the jamb, affecting indifference. "Is a colleague not allowed to visit one of his teammates?" He said, oozing charm.

Starlight's brown eyes narrowed as she awkwardly rubbed her arms. He doesn't just check on people. "No. All the way in Iowa? You came to check on me here?"

A low chuckle escaped from Homelander at her question. He sensed her tension. "Oh, so you don't believe in visits from your teammates?" He said sarcastically. "That hurts, Starlight." With one step, he advanced closer to her. Homelander's eyes roamed over Starlight until she averted her gaze.

Homelander was close enough he could read her t-shirt: 'I'm not yelling. I'm an Iowa girl.' The corners of his mouth twitched with it. Homelander grinned even more at her shirt. It was so ridiculous and cute. "Oh, you look adorable in your shirt." He snorted, "Aren't you proud of your heritage?"

Starlight's flush deepened at his comment, and she scrunched up her eyes as if he were making a challenge. "Nothing's wrong with Iowa," she stopped cutting, and her voice turned sharp. "And I like my shirt." She crossed her arms and met his eyes, "What are you doing here? You're changing the subject."

Homelander laughed a soft chuckle at her determinedness as he had an amused glint in his eyes. "Okay, I will get straight to the point," he said while walking up to her. He lowered his voice to a hoarse whisper. "I had an interesting conversation with your mother..."

Starlight gasped as a sense of horror washed over her. "You… you talked to my mom? Why?" She whispered. "What did she say?"

Homelander smirked at her apparent fear. He could almost hear her heartbeats. "Nothing really," he said with fake innocence. "Just a few things I have noticed about your behavior. You sure do worry your poor mother. She thinks something's… off." Homelander made sure to take note of her expressions. A change in heart rate, pupil dilation… anything .

Starlight squirmed under the oppressive glare, her pulse quickening just a little. She tried to act aloof about it, but how his words visibly shook her gave a lot away. "I have no idea what you are talking about," her voice quivered this time. "I'm fine."

"You're lying…" He whispered.

Starlight's face darkened with fear as he called her out. She gasped and then immediately cast some sort of defiant look in place. "I'm not lying! I'm just... fine. Tired, maybe. But there's nothing wrong."

Homelander chuckled, and the sound went down her spine. Her resolve slipped. "You make a dreadful liar, Starlight. I mean, you want me to think everything is okay when I hear your heart beating like a jackrabbit?"

Starlight chewed on her lower lip, her eyes searching his face. It was clear she was trying to come up with a response, but the words wouldn't come. She was cornered, and she knew it. "You... you don't know what you're talking about," she managed to stumble out, her voice shaky.

Homelander chuckled softly, his eyes snapping and becoming quite serious. "But I do," he whispered like a growl. "I can hear your pulse. You're scared, Starlight. No, this is something deeper. You're terrified of something, and I will figure out what that is."

Starlight brushed off his words. "You're not anymore. You can't come back into my life and expect any answers," she returned with a neer. I don't owe you anything."

As Homeland advanced, Starlight stiffened. "Oh, but I beg to differ," he snarled. "It just so happens that obedience comes with loyalty and that in turn means—"

Starlight put her hand on the back of her front door, intending to shut it, but over Homelander's shoulder, she saw her mother's eyes soften, sad and pleading.

The exchange between Starlight and her mom was not lost on Homelander. He looked over his shoulder to the woman, an apologetic look from her as she begged for help. Smiling, he turned his attention back toward Starlight. "Oops," he teased. "Looks like someone is concerned about your well-being. She basically is begging me to help you."

At that, Starlight's prideful expression faltered into embarrassment. Sensing the weight of worry, she turned back to her mother compassionately. She removed her hand from the door and exhaled. She sighed before speaking; her voice sounded resigned. "Come in, then."

He laughed that deep, menacing chuckle before continuing to relish in her submission. As soon as he entered the house, his signature essence occupied all the space. He looked around at the adorably quaint setting. He then glanced at the many religious artifacts scattered around his house. He said in a sarcastic tone, "This is a nice place. Real cozy."

He followed her to her bedroom, but her hand on his chest stopped him. "Boots off if you're making it past the threshold," she muttered.

Homelander arched an eyebrow at her request, and the softest hint of irritation entered his gaze. "Boots off?" He repeated in a sarcastic tone. "Are you serious?"

Starlight stared him in the eyes, her face stone-faced. "Absolutely serious," she said decisively. "Rule #1 in an Iowan home… Take your shoes off at the door. You come in, you follow the rules."

Homelander's jaw was tight, fighting against being told what to do. He crossed his arms over his chest and scowled at everyone around him. He grumbled, which was more of grudging compliance than one borne out of respect for her rule. He caved in and took off his red boots.

Starlight watched, smiling while Homelander did as she said. "Thanks," she muttered. "Not so hard now, was it?"

Homelander glared at her as she said it, but his irritation was obviously undiminished. "Yeah, yeah," he pouted, crossing his arms. "Just get moving." He huffed, "I did not travel all the way here to talk in your fucking doorway."

Starlight rolled her eyes as she climbed the steps to her bedroom.

Homelander followed her up the stairs, his eyes scanning pictures of every classic familial moment displayed diligently along them. When they reached the apex, his eyes found one picture. The photo was of a smiling baby Starlight, with sparkles of wonder in her eyes. "Ah, how sweet. Baby Starlight, pure of heart and wonder."

Starlight bristled at his tone, annoyed by his mockery. "Shut up," she muttered, pushing open the door to her bedroom.

She felt slightly embarrassed as they entered the room. Her bedroom was like any girl her age had, boy band posters splattered across the walls but also cute decorations here and there; she even still used a small bookshelf that stood tall with young adult novels shoved wherever they needed to fit amongst shelves lined in medals of all kinds—trophies from her high school days. She then sat down, snatched his plushie up, and held it.

Homelander laughed as she took the plush and held it impossibly tight. It was hard to suppress a chuckle. A grin crept to his face. "Well, well, and what have you got here? It sounds like someone has a little crush on me. How sweet."

Starlight's face reddened at his words as she held the plushie with a little more force. "That's not it," she protested—but her heart started beating faster, and she knew he saw what was in her mind. "I just find it… comforting."

Homelander grinned, reveling in her embarrassment. "Comforting, huh?" He said as he approached her. "That's why you hug it so tight, aren't you? Or trying to manifest it into me?"

Starlight felt her heart race even faster as he got closer, tightening her grip on the plushie. "No!" She retorted defiantly. "It's just a... a stress relief thing. That's all."

Homelander grabbed his cape and moved it to the side before he sat on the edge of her bed. He looked around her room and felt uncomfortable and at ease.

The heart of Starlight beat in her chest as he made himself comfortable on the bed. She was trying to act cool, but he made her nervous. She looked around the room, a slight whirr of recognition washing back over her face before it came to rest on his. "You... you looking so wrong in here," she said, with a tremor in her voice.

Homelander took in the trinkets and keepsakes from all places that covered each surface of the room as his eyes scanned. He snorted, unimpressed. He said, mocking disgust, "Yeah, well, this is certainly not my style. It's a little too... girly for my taste."

Starlight rolled her eyes at his comment, his dismissive tone getting under her skin. "Yeah, well, it's not like I designed my room specifically for your taste," she retorted, crossing her arms defiantly. "Some of us like cute and comfortable decor."

Homelander slowly took his gloves off and sat to the side on her nightstand. "So… are you going to tell me why you told Madelyn and Ashley you're quitting the Seven? It's been five days," he said bluntly.

Starlight's eyes shot open, as did her mouth. "H-How did you know that…?" She stammered, her breath shaking.

Homelander barked in dark amusement to her fluster. "You really think they would hide that from me?" His tone was fraught with mocking humor. "I am the Seven's leader, after all. I've got ears everywhere. I hear everything."

Starlight scowled, her eyes spark with irritation and outrage. She glared at him, the words forced through gritted teeth. "Duh. The almighty Homelander. Nothing escapes your notice."

Homelander smiled, his voice glimmering with a smirk. Proudly, he answered me, "Yes. And you be wise to remember that. Starlight, why are you considering leaving? You got a better offer?"

Starlight fidgeted nervously, her grip on the plushie tightening again. "It... it's not about a better offer," she muttered, refusing to meet his gaze. "It's complicated."

Homelander sneered, face going cold. He hissed and looked at her, saying, "God, I hate that word. 'Complicated.' If people would quit using it as an excuse to avoid giving a straight answer." He crowded her, continuing to lean in. "What's the truth, Starlight?"

Her heart rate increased, and Starlight watched as he leaned closer to her face intimidatingly. She fought for her next breath, whimpering as she dreaded his reaction. "It's... because of a member," she whispered, looking up at him. "I can't work... anymore."

Homelander was taken aback by the response, evidently not having anticipated it. "Someone on the team? A Vought employee?" He finally inquired, less irritated and now more curious. "Who? A-Train? Black Noir?"

Starlight chewed on her lower lip, her eyes glancing away from his gaze. "No..." she mumbled, her voice barely above a whisper. "It's... it's not them."

Homelander's curiosity was now piqued, his eyes narrowing as he studied her expression. "Then who?" He asked, his voice now dangerously low. "Tell me, Starlight."

Starlight felt the weight of his gaze, the intensity in his eyes making her heart race. She took another shaky breath, her fingers tightening around the plushie even more. "It's..." she began, her voice trembling, "It's Deep."

Homelander took a second to absorb what she had just said. It almost made him burst out laughing. Deep was the reason she wanted to quit.

The fish fucker. Literally.

With each word passed her lips, Starlight could almost see the laughter in Homelander's eyes. "I know, I know it sounds ridiculous…" she whispered, even more embarrassed and now frustrated. "But I just can't work with him anymore. Not after..." Her voice faded as a melancholy look brushed her face, clouding her thoughts.

Homelander saw it on her face—the slight change in expression, the brief sting of pain in her eyes. "After what?" His tone was hard-pressed, a blend of interest with irritation. "What did the Fishman do?"

Starlight's eyes darted around the room as she took a shaky breath and tried to find her words. "He...he did something to me," she whispered. "Something... inappropriate. I can't work with him anymore. Not after that ."

Her voice pierced his soul. Homelander's expression turned darker, and his evil glare intensified. "Inappropriate, how?" He asked, his voice threatening. "What did he do to you?"

Starlight shivered again as she remembered how helpless she had been when Deep refused her declines. "He... he…he…" she spluttered, "Well, he… propositioned me. In the boardroom. My first night."

Homelander's gaze hardened, anger flashing as understanding dawned on him. He knew how entitled Deep was, and he had a sinking feeling this wasn't the only time it had happened. "Did he touch you?" He asked, his voice barely above a growl.

Starlight didn't answer him; she clutched his plushie self to her body, "I'll always protect you."

Homelander eyed the way she held onto that plushie of hers for comfort. He laughed so darkly that it gave her a shiver. "I think you like holding onto that toy a bit too much." He said, his tone mocking. "Do you really think a doll will stop scum like Deep?"

Starlight looked up with hard brown eyes, "No. I didn't think it would protect me. I grew up believing you would protect me." She spat as a tear slid down her cheek.

Her words caused Homelander's eyes to widen, and for a second, he felt an odd twinge, almost like guilt. "Me?" He hesitated a bit in his tone. "You thought I…would…keep you safe?"

Starlight nodded, her eyes filled with sadness and anger. "Yes," she said softly, her voice breaking a bit. "You're Homelander. The leader of the Seven. The face of Vought. I thought you were the good guy. The one who would stop something like that from happening."

She shook her head as tears slipped down her cheeks, "I kept looking at the doors thinking, 'Oh, he'll come in…' Obviously, I was stupid for thinking that the guy I saw on TV, the toy I had, was a lie."

Homelander felt ashamed at her words, as though he couldn't quite believe he'd disappointed her so severely. And he couldn't. He'd never lived up to expectations. Not once. He was speechless, conflicted between anger, guilt, and something more profound. "You thought… you thought the toy was real?" He finally managed to say, his voice lacking confidence.

Starlight sniffed, wiping at her tears with the back of her hand. "I was a kid, and you're goddamn Homelander," she mumbled. "I believed in what you stood for, what Vought told us you stood for." She looked at him, her expression a mix of anger and hurt. "And you let me down, time and time again."

"This time worse than the others. I was raped in the conference room, staring at your statue, willing you to somehow notice something happening in the building. No, instead, I met you the day after, and all you had to talk to me about was my secret identity and how terrible I looked." Starlight said between shaky breaths.

Homelander froze, his heart skipping a beat at her words. He hadn't expected her confession, and he definitely hadn't expected it to hit him so hard. His chest squeezed painfully, and he felt a strange mix of anger and sympathy swirling within him. "You… you mean…" he stammered, his mind struggling to process what she was saying. "You're telling me… that happened… and I didn't…?"

Starlight nodded and wiped fresh tears from her face. Her voice cracked as she whispered back, "Yes. It happened, and you did not even know. You didn't care. You didn't do anything." She clutched the plushie in a death grip.

Homelander turned white with shock, his mind spinning as he tried to absorb this new information. After all, he couldn't even prevent something like this and hadn't even known. He felt a wave of guilt tear at his insides, something he hadn't experienced in years. He reached out and stopped before touching her. He understood that his touch would bring her no comfort. "I...I really had no idea..." he said uncharacteristically softly.

Starlight let out a bitter laugh, her eyes glinting with spite. "Of course, you didn't know," she spat. "You never notice anything. Never care. It's all just about you, isn't it? Homelander, King of the Seven, can do no wrong, can do no evil." She took a shuddering breath, her tears falling freely now. "You're a fraud, Homelander. A goddamn fraud."

Her words hit him like a punch to the gut. He couldn't deny the truth in them, but hearing her say it hurt. More than he'd cared to admit. He wanted to be angry. Wanted to lash out. But looking at Starlight, tears streaming down her face, clutching that damn plushie like it was her only lifeline.

He couldn't.

Homelander grabbed her before she could move; he wrapped both arms around her while he manhandled her into his lap. Starlight froze as he pulled her into his lap, her body tense and resisting at first. But as he hugged her, one muscular arm around her waist and the other cradling the back of her head, she couldn't help but melt into his embrace.

She buried her face in his shoulder, her tears soaking through his clothes as she sobbed uncontrollably.

Homelander held her close, feeling her body shudder with each gasping sobbing. Her tears were warm against his skin, but he didn't pull away. He found he couldn't. He let one hand gently stroke her hair, like trying to soothe a panicked animal. He knew he wasn't good at comforting someone, but he wanted to try for some reason.

As her sobs faded into soft hiccups, Homelander finally spoke, his voice gruff. "I'm… I'm sorry." The words felt foreign on his tongue, but a sincerity in his tone surprised even him.

His hold tightened as Starlight shifted, her tear-filled gaze meeting his. She was not expecting to hear an apology, which startled her a bit. She pulled back and stopped an arm's length away from him, startled but guarded hope on her lovely, tear-stained face.

Homelander met her gaze, his own eyes filled with an unfamiliar tenderness. He didn't like feeling this vulnerable, this exposed. But something about her made him want to be something he wasn't. He reached up, his thumb gently wiping away a tear that had escaped down her cheek.

Starlight shuddered at his touch, her heart fluttering in her chest. She tried to ignore the warmth that bloomed in her stomach, the way her heart ached at the tenderness in his eyes. She swallowed hard, her voice weak when she spoke. "Why did you… pull me onto your lap like this?"

Homelander paused, looking away from her momentarily. What the hell had he drawn her onto his lap for? He had never experienced emotions to this extent, let alone comprehend them. Eventually, he began to speak up. "I… I don't know." He looked back at her, his eyes meeting hers once more. "I just… wanted to hold you. You're doing it with my little self..."

Starlight dropped her plushie, eyes widening as she processed his words. It was not what she had hoped for, but it felt alarmingly accurate. "I…It made me feel better," Starlight said, speaking barely above a whisper. "It's a coping mechanism."

"How long has it been a coping mechanism? My mini me has seen some better days…" Homelander said while looking at the frayed doll.

Starlight looked where his gaze went, sitting on the stuffed doll. It has certainly seen better days. "Um," she sighed softly, her fingers grazing lovingly over the fabric. "Ever since my dad left. I used it as a coping mechanism to remind myself of the good in humanity, that not everyone was like him."

Homelander felt a slight twinge of guilt again, something he was getting used to when it came to her. "How old were you?" His voice came out softer than how he usually spoke.

Starlight gazed at him, her eyes shadowed and far away as she remembered. "Nine," she whispered with a wince. "It was after Dad's fight with Mom. My dad stomped out and told me he was done with us, with me. He left, and... that was it. I never saw him again."

Homelander's fingers around his tightened, nearly to the point of hurting. He could feel it in her voice—it pained him, too. It filled him with anger and sadness. All his life, he hoped for a parent's love, yet here was a child with that very thing he craved, which had been taken from her too quickly. "Oh, you have had me since you were 9…?"

Starlight looked in the same direction and saw a plushie. And it was starting to look a little ragged . "It… it's been so long," she said, her fingers tracing the frayed stitches. "Ever since my dad left. As a reminder that there is some kind of goodness left, not everything is like him."

He looked at her for a moment, a strange feeling in his chest. He wasn't used to being anyone's source of comfort. And to be that for her, for Starlight, with all her strength and idealism, felt unexpected. "Why me?" He asked quietly. "Why not some Disney princess or something?"

Starlight gave out a weak chuckle as her eyes shined with humor. "Wait, you want to know why I chose a superhero over another princess?" She said teasingly.

Homelander felt a pang of unexpected defensiveness. "Yes," he said, his voice firm. "I'm nothing like those princesses. I'm not nice and sweet. I'm… I'm strong. I'm powerful. I'm a protector."

A softer look crossed Starlight's face when she looked up at him. Her voice was a whisper. "I know you're not one of them. And that's why I chose you. You were something real. Something raw and powerful. And you're the exact opposite of one of those Disney princesses."

Homelander felt a strange feeling in his chest at her words. Pride, maybe. Or perhaps it was something he didn't want to acknowledge. "You actually saw me as… as a hero?" He asked, the vulnerability in his voice surprising even him.

Starlight nodded with a weak smile, "I saw you as good. You are good, Homelander…"

The steeliest of the Homelander's walls crushed a little more, and he felt it in his chest. He had never been referred to as 'good,' certainly not with sincerity. He took a deep breath, and how exposed he felt hurt. "It's only ever been you who sees me like that," he said quietly, locking his eyes to hers. "No one else. Just you."

Starlight blushed and felt giddy inside by his words. The powerful, arrogant Homelander was confiding in her—an outcome she never would have anticipated. And then she tentatively reached her hand out and settled it on his chest. Right against the thin fabric of his supersuit, she could feel it: How alive he still was. "Others aren't looking deep enough," she whispered, eyes meeting his.

At her touch—the soft, warm press of palm onto his chest, Homelander's heart seemed to skip a beat as he felt an unusual chill along his spine. Homelander swallowed, looking directly into her eyes. No one had ever spoken to him in such a helpful tone before. It was scary as shit and amazing. He felt he needed to turn and walk away, conceal himself from her sight, and protect the façade that had taken years of building. But he was caught in her gaze; his eyes could not be pulled away.

Starlight locked eyes with him, and she could see the shift in his demeanor. In his eyes, she sensed the war between his typical cockiness and his being willing to reciprocate feelings publicly. She turned a little in his lap to face him fully. Her hand lay upon his chest, and she could feel the thump of that heartbeat; gentle, but there was so much power coiled up in him, pent-up energy both dormant or ready to strike off at any moment.

Homelander felt the shift in her position, the closeness of her body sending a new wave of heat through him. He clenched his jaw, trying to maintain his usual aloofness, but it was getting more difficult by the second. "You… you're getting awfully comfortable in my lap," he said, his voice hinting at huskiness.

Starlight met his words with a faint smile, and her eyes never left him. "Am I?" Her light and teasing tone in a murmur. "Is it uncomfortable?" She did it again, this time scooting closer to him—when their bodies were practically flush together. His muscles were warm against her hand, which was still on his chest.

The feel of her body next to his made Homelander swallow, desire flaring deep inside him. He felt the soft swell of her body against him, could still feel the warmth of his hand upon her chest, and he tried to push his thoughts away. "God, no," he answered in a slightly hoarser-than-usual voice. "I mean, it doesn't phase me." His hand rested on her waist as his other thumb rubbed against the sharp jut of her hip bone.

She shivered when his thumb brushed her skin, the most innocent touch sending waves of warmth through every muscle. She should have been cautious about crossing a dangerous zone but did not want to walk away. She moved purposefully, her bottom perched on his lap, and pressed tightly to him so no more than an inch separated their bodies. His pulse thrummed beneath her hand in a fast beat that mirrored hers.

Homelander felt a fresh wave of heat pass through him as she moved. Her thighs were now flush to the sides of his lap. He could feel her supple tenderness, heat, and sugary scent; it was maddeningly exhilarating. His chest heaved with a breath, and their eyes met again as the intensity of her gaze sank into his soul. Acting before his mind settled, he shifted one hand up her hip over to rest on the small of her back and splay possessively.

Starlight involuntarily let out a soft gasp, her body arching slightly into his touch. The possessive grip of his hand on her back sent a jolt of heat through her, and she found herself wanting more. She leaned in closer, her face mere inches from his, her body now pressed firmly against his chest. Her eyes flickered from his down to his lips and back up again, her breath coming in small, ragged gasps.

"Tell me I'm good, Annie," Homelander said her name softly. His lips separated from hers by an inch or so.

Starlight felt her heart skip a beat at his words, slightly taken aback by this sudden closeness. The way he had whispered her name came across as so softly and gently, almost making Starlight shudder in his arms. She swallowed, nearly too quietly for her words to be heard. "You're good, Homelander," she tried. She never stopped looking him in the eyes. "You're so good."

Her words caused a new feeling in Homelander's chest. He had longed for her approval so severely, and hearing her tell him that 'he's good' thrilled him. His hand slid up her back to cup her face. He felt the warmth of her skin on his palm. "Repeat it," his growl was accompanied by a deeper , raspy voice.

Starlight shivered at the huskiness in his tone, her heart fluttering in her chest. His hand on her cheek was comforting and exhilarating, and she leaned into his touch. She drew in a shaky breath, her gaze unwavering as she repeated the words. "You're good, Homelander. You're good."

Homelander felt a rush of something primal and possessive as she repeated the words. It was as if each time she said it, it reinforced the truth within him, the acceptance he so desperately craved. He leaned in closer, his face now mere millimeters from hers. "Again," he whispered, his breath hot against her lips.

Starlight held her breath from his closeness. His breath was hot against her lips, and she shivered. She found herself sucked in, unable to look away from his eyes. She repeated it, a little breathless the second time, "You're good, Homelander. You're good."

Homelander closed the remaining distance between them, his lips finally claiming hers in a fiercely possessive kiss. There was a desperate need behind it, a need to taste her, to claim her, to make her his.

His hand on her cheek held her firmly in place as he deepened the kiss, the taste and feel of her overwhelming all his senses.

Starlight moaned desperately against his lips. She felt his tongue slip into her mouth.

Homelander growled to himself as he heard her groan; that sound was like fire pouring through him. His tongue plunged into her mouth, eagerly savoring and conquering the sweetness of her mouth. His hand was on her back as he pulled her closer to him, their bodies pushing together. He felt her soft, warm body yielding to his own.

She sighed as her body responded to his touch. Then her hands dug into the firm muscle beneath his suit, forcefully yanking on his shoulders. She felt his kiss as a consuming one, honoring it with just the same fervor as their tongues battled in hungry desperation. She wanted it harder and pushed herself into his.

Homelander felt her grasping at him, her body pressing against him in a silent plea for more. He broke away from her lips, his mouth trailing hot, open kisses down her neck, his teeth scraping lightly against her skin. "Repeat it," he murmured, his voice a rough whisper against her ear. "Say it again, Annie…"

Starlight let out a soft gasp as his lips and teeth found her neck, her head falling back in ecstasy. Her grip on his shoulders tightened, her fingers digging into his suit.

She found herself arching against him, her body reacting to his touch as she repeated the words, her voice a ragged whisper. "You're good, Homelander... you're good…"

Homelander growled a low rumble in his chest as she sang the words again, and he wanted her more than ever. His teeth left behind a trail of marks along her skin, nipping at her neck. He wanted to possess her, claim her. His lips came back to her ear, voice rumbling. "Again."

Starlight groaned, but it was distorted and gagged as she trembled, writhing under his fingertips. His voice was so commanding, and something in his grip made her gasp again as she tried to stop. She whispered the words again, her voice strangled. "You're so good…"

Homelander felt a primal satisfaction as she repeated the words, her voice a ragged whisper that sent a bolt of heat straight to his groin.

He pulled back slightly to look at her, his gaze roaming over her flushed face and wide eyes. He liked seeing her like this, submissive and pliable in his hands. But he wanted more. He wanted her to admit it, to say it willingly, without him prompting her.

Starlight was breathing heavily now, and her heart fluttered as she looked up at him. He had made his need known, and now she was compelled to provide it for him.

With a shaky breath, she spoke, her voice a low whisper that sent a shiver down her spine. "You're… you're good, Homelander. You're everything I've ever wanted. You make me feel…" She trailed off, unable to finish her sentence.

Homelander felt a rush of satisfaction as she spoke, her words hitting him like a wave. It was everything he wanted to hear from her, the validation he craved. He leaned in again, his mouth finding her neck once more. He nipped softly at her skin, his tongue tracing her jawline. "Repeat it," he growled against her ear, his hand sliding down to grip her hip.

Starlight let out a soft moan as he nipped at her neck, her body shuddering under his touch. Her mind was a dizzy blur, consumed by his proximity and the intoxicating feeling of his body against hers. She repeated the words again, her voice a shuddering whisper, her body arching into his touch. "You're good, Homelander... you're good…"

Homelander felt a feral growl escape his chest at her repetition, reverberating through his body. He liked hearing her say it, but he wanted more. He wanted her to admit that she was his. He pulled her closer, his body pressing hers back against the mattress. He loomed over her, his hands roaming over her body, his touch possessive and demanding.

Starlight couldn't help but notice the doll version of Homelander beneath her back, his pre-recorded voice spewing out random sayings as the real Homelander claimed her mouth hungrily.

The juxtaposition of the two Homelanders only heightened the surrealness of the moment, and she found herself struggling to focus on anything but the feel of his touch.

Her body began to react to Homelander's caress: her soft gasps and moans only drove him further insane. His mouth moved down to the pulse point in her neck, kissing a scorching line straight down. He caressed her whole as if to experience every part of herself in one sitting. Through her clothes, he felt the fire of her skin down to his core, and it only deepened his hunger for more.

Homelander smirked against her neck as he heard the sounds of her moans, her body pinned beneath him as his plushie version droned on in the background. He could feel her shifting beneath him, her body arching into his touch.

He continued his assault on her body, his hands roaming over her curves as his mouth left a trail of hot kisses down her throat. "I like it when you moan for me," he growled against her skin.

His words created a shiver that traveled down Starlight's spine, body arching against his with it. Her head felt like it was strung out, her senses assaulted by whatever force they were engaged with. She was too flustered to say anything at all and instead only made whimpering sounds while he kissed down her body. His heat, his weight above her, pressed down hard and possessively, claiming what was his.

Homelander felt his breath catch in his throat as he took off her shirt and bared Starlight's breasts to him. He looked at her, a look of want and shock in his blue eyes as he scanned over the slight curves she possessed. A slow glide of his fingers crossed her skin, from the elegant lines of collarbone to shoulder and then breast, which was soft and reverent.

Starlight shuddered beneath his touch, her body arching into his fingers as they skimmed over her skin. The feel of his hands on her body was electric, sending jolts of heat and desire coursing through her.

She let out a soft moan, her eyes half-lidded, her breath coming in ragged gasps as he continued to explore her body. She whimpered when one of his large hands cupped her breast.

Homelander placed a hand over her breast and couldn't resist the feeling of ownership that surged through him. It felt like sinning and burning at the same time, having her warm flesh pressed against his palm, making it impossible to avert his eyes. He squeezed the mound, and his thumb brushed over her nipple again but with more force.

Starlight gasped softly as he squeezed her breast and arched into his hand. His touch was hot, and his palm rough against her soft skin. She lost herself in the feelings, her mind whirling as he traced his hands all over her body. "Homelander..." She spoke no more than a whisper, her voice through panting.

Homelander felt a low growl escape his throat at her pleaded whisper. He relished how she said his name, the pleading tone in her voice driving him wild. He gently pinched her nipple between his thumb and forefinger, rolling it between them. "Hmm, Annie?" He growled, his hot breath against her skin.

She shifted, and his plushie spoke again, "All Heroes have manners! Say, please!"

At the sound of the plushie talking, Starlight's head snapped up, darting her gaze to where she heard his voice. It made her chuckle to herself, and she blushed lightly.

Homelander laughed again but kept his right hand on her breast and continued to squeeze softly. "You heard the plushie, Annie," he smirked. "Say, please."

Starlight felt her face flush even deeper at his words, the command in his tone sending a shiver down her spine. She swallowed hard, unable to look away from him, her body still quivering with need. "Please," she whispered, her voice a ragged gasp. "Please, Homelander... please."

Homelander leaned inwards, his mouth salivating as he wrapped it around the end of her breast. His eyes fluttered shut as he suckled.

Starlight moaned as his teeth brushed her breast, and she arched into the flash of pleasure. She held onto his hair, grabbing small handfuls to steady herself. He bathed and flickered his tongue in circles around her nipple before drawing the bud into his mouth, setting off pleasurable tremors throughout her.

She felt her body react to his touch, her hips bucking up against him, her hands now clawing at his back. She couldn't think straight, her mind a mess of pleasure and need. "Oh... oh god," she gasped, her voice a ragged whisper. "Please... please don't stop…"

Homelander felt a rush of heat at her words, his body responding to her neediness. He continued to lavish attention on her breast, his tongue and teeth teasing her nipple.

He wanted to tease her, to draw it out, but her desperate pleas only fueled his own desire. He couldn't get enough of her, his body thrumming with need.

His body forced her down into the mattress and plush harder. The plushie said, "Say my name, and I'll give you the help you need!"

Another gasp escaped from Starlight as she was pushed further into the bed, still pinned down by him while the stuffed toy was now pressed against her back in a ticklish way. It snapped her back to reality, and she opened her wide eyes. She paused momentarily; her breath came in sharp gasps before the desire coursed through her and overpowered her reasoning. "Homelander…" she whimpered, her voice begging. "Please... need..."

Homelander felt his throat tighten at the sound of his name on her lips, a possessive growl rumbling in his chest. He didn't break away from her breast, his mouth still ravishing her nipple, but he couldn't help but feel a surge of satisfaction at her submission.

He knew he had her now, her body quivering beneath his touch, her voice begging for more. He was going to make her forget everything but him.

Starlight felt a jolt of pleasure as he moved his mouth to her other breast, her body arching up towards him, her fingers digging into his skin. She was lost in the sensations, her mind blissfully empty of anything but him.

She let out a gasp as he continued to lavish attention on her breast, the heat of his mouth and the roughness of his tongue driving her wild. "Please! You're so good!" She whined out.

Homelander felt a feral growl rise in his chest at her words, the praise sending a jolt of pleasure through him. He lifted his mouth away from her breast, his eyes dark and heavy as they looked down at her. "You like that, don't you? You like telling me how good I am." He moved his hand down, his fingers tracing a path along her stomach, her hip.

Starlight shuddered beneath his touch, her body reacting to his words, his fingers on her skin. "Yes," she whispered, her voice a ragged gasp. "Yes, I like it... you're so good, Homelander."

Her hands still clutched at his shoulders, her grip tightening as his fingers continued to roam over her body, his touch driving her wild.

His hands wrapped around her waistband, slowly pulling her pajama bottoms down.

Starlight lifted her hips as he slid her pajama pants down, the material slipping off her smooth legs, leaving her body exposed beneath him. She could feel the cool air on her skin, contrasting with the heat of his touch.

She looked up at him, her eyes wide and dark, her breath coming in short gasps. She was utterly vulnerable now, naked beneath him, entirely at his mercy. "Please," she whispered, her voice a ragged gasp. "Please, I need you."

"Don't fear Homelander is here!" Homelander chuckled as the plushie spoke again, his hands roaming over her body, exploring her soft skin.

"I suppose I am, aren't I?" He said, his voice a low growl. He shifted his body entirely on top of hers now, his weight pinning her down. "You're mine, Starlight," he whispered in her ear, his hot breath on her skin. "Every inch of you."

Starlight shuddered at his words, her body reacting to his possessive tone. The primal sound of his voice sent a shiver down her spine.

She felt small and vulnerable beneath him, pinned under his weight, entirely at his mercy. But she wasn't scared; she was only needy and desperate for him. She wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him closer, her body arching up against his. "Yes," she whispered, her voice quivering. "Yours. All yours."

Homelander felt a feral roar rise in his chest at her words, his body reacting to her submission, the need to possess her, to claim her, overwhelming him.

He captured her lips in a bruising kiss, his hands roaming over her body, exploring her every inch. He was lost in her, in the feel of her skin, the taste of her lips, the sound of her ragged gasp.

Starlight lost herself in the kiss, her tongue delving into his mouth, her body arching into his touch. She felt consumed by his presence, touch, and taste, overwhelming her senses. She clutched at his shoulders, her fingers digging into his supersuit, desperate to be even closer to him. Her mind was spinning, a mess of desire and need.

Sparks of heat crackled and coursed through her as his bare hands touched her body, rough palms against softer skin. Starlight shivered with need and moved into his touch.

His hands seemed to be all over her, exploring every inch of her body with a possessiveness that made the hair on the back of her neck stand. Almost too much, the sheer fucking volume of stimulus completely scrambling her brain and making her dizzy in need. She gasped when he caught the spread of her thighs so that he could settle right between them.

"You'll always be safe in my arms!" Starlight's back hit the plushie, and she felt a shiver run through her at the sound of its recorded voice. It was almost ironic, being pressed between the real Homelander's solid body and the fake one from the toy, both surrounding her, both promising to protect her.

She looked up at Homelander, her eyes wide and needy. His hands rested on her thighs, his fingers digging into her skin, holding her thighs apart as he settled between them.

Desire and need were all she knew right now; all his touch ignited within her. His body was stiff, whole muscles pressed against her soft curves, and she could feel his heat emanating from them like an oven. She moaned lightly as he parted her legs, feeling a shiver up in excitement. The weight of his eyes burned through her as he skimmed over her unclothed body, ravenous and reverent.

Starlight moaned softly as he rubbed his bulge across her, the feel of him on her skin driving Starlight wild. She threw her head back, arched her spine, and her hair spilled over the pillow. Her body moved with his, her hips arching up to meet every thrust of him. Her eyes slid shut, head falling back on the pillow as she gasped.

"As long as you're with me, you can take anything!"

The sound of the plushie speaking so startled Starlight; she had not even really noticed it up to that point. Her mind was filled with too many feelings over Homelander's body covering hers. The words hit her resolutely, making a shiver race down to the back of her spine. She knew it was only from a line of pre-recorded words, probably meant strictly for children—but here, when Homelander loomed poorly over her with his body pinned flush to hers, it felt like more of an oath.

Her eyes fluttered open, and her gaze met his, heart pounding in terror. Something in the way he sized her up like she belonged to him, his dominance evident when we made eye contact. She was small, felt protected under his weight, and was not frightened. She felt safe and secure as if she could handle anything as long as he was by her side.

Homelander shifted his hips back and forth, rutting against her. His body forced her into the plushie over and over again.

Starlight let out small moans as he ground his hips against her, her body being forced into the plushie with each thrust, the feel of the soft toy against her skin strangely enjoyable. She wrapped her legs around his waist, pulling him closer, her body responding to his touch, her skin burning with need.

"Hold on, hero! It might be a bumpy ride!"

Starlight let out a strangled gasp as the plushie's voice broke through the fog of pleasure in her mind, a giggle mixed with a moan escaping her lips. Hearing those lighthearted little phrases in this intense heat and need was almost comical.

"Shut it," she managed to gasp out, her legs tightening around his waist.

Homelander chuckled while he shifted his hips into hers, "Little Homelander is telling you the truth, Annie."

Starlight groaned at his words, both at the feel of him grinding against her and the reminder of the plushie's true purpose. "Little Homelander needs to stay out of this," she muttered, even as her hips lifted to meet his, her body seeking more of that friction. She dug her heels into his ass and tried to force him closer.

Homelander shoved his tights and briefs down and then pulled his cock out.

Starlight cried out at the feel of him suddenly naked against her, her body jerking in response. She was surprised at how much the feeling of him naked sent a thrill through her. She hadn't expected to feel so turned on, but the feel of his smooth skin, the hardness of his cock against her wet pussy, was intoxicating.

"I'm your best friend!"

Starlight let out a strangled laugh at the plushie's following words, even as she clung to him, her body arching up towards him. She couldn't believe it was saying those things now, even as she wanted to hear nothing but his voice, Homelander's voice.

"I'm not sure Little Homelander is my best friend right now," she gasped as she ground against him.

Homelander felt a surge of satisfaction at her words, her body pressed against him, her voice begging for more. He shifted his hips, his cock sliding over her slick folds. "Is that right, Starlight? Are you sure Little Homelander isn't your best friend right now?" He teased, his voice low and husky. "Or do you need something else?"

Starlight gasped as he shifted, his cockhead rubbing against her clit, the feel of it sending shivers of pleasure through her body. She looked up at him, her eyes wide and needy, her mouth open. "Please," she begged, her voice hoarse. "I need you. Please..."

Homelander smiled a slow smile that transformed his face. He leaned in, pressing his mouth to hers again, swallowing her whimpers.

Starlight lost herself in the kiss, her mind a mess of desire and need. She could feel the length of him against her, his cock pressing against her pussy, his mouth and tongue devouring her lips.

And then he entered her.

Starlight let out a cry of surprise and pleasure as he pushed into her, his girth spreading her wide. Her body tightened around his cock, her walls squeezing him tight, trying to hold him within her.

She could feel him filling her, his size stretching her open. Her pussy gripped his thick cock with desperation.

Her mind spun as he seated within her, and her thoughts fragmented. She had never felt so full before; her body stretched to its limits.

Homelander broke away from the kiss, his eyes dark and heated as they stared down at her. He let out a low growl, his hands gripping her thighs, forcing her wider for his thrusts.

The plushie beneath her was making grunting noises like it was fighting, while the actual man was grunting for a different reason. The plushie was being forced against her back by the real Homelander's weight.

"You're the best!"

Starlight felt a rush of pleasure at the words, her mind spinning with the sensation of him inside her. She felt filled, stretched to her limits, her body clinging to his.

She wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him back to her, her lips seeking his. "Yes," she breathed against his lips, her tongue sliding over his. "You're the best."

Homelander thrusted in and out of Starlight, forcing the plushie into her back. He pinned her arms above her head, thrusting in and out of her at a fast pace.

Starlight cried out, her body arching up against his, her hips lifting to meet his. She was overwhelmed by the feeling of him inside her, his hands pinning her down, his thrusts pushing her into the plushie behind her.

Her mind was spinning, her body consumed by the sensations, her pleasure building higher and higher with each thrust.

"I'm here to help!"

Starlight felt a rush of warmth at the words, her body responding to the feel of him inside her, his hands holding her down, his thrusts driving her wild.

"Yes!" She gasped, her eyes rolling back in her head. "Oh god, yes!"

Homelander grinned as he kept pumping into her. He released her wrists so his fingers could trail over her body as he fucked her into the plushie.

Starlight gave a gasping half sob, quivering with want. She crested and cascaded over, a pleasurable spasm consuming her body. And then, quite suddenly, she heard herself cry out, tearing the sound from her throat that echoed in her tiny room.

"There you go, hero! Now you're a winner!"

Starlight felt a rush of joy at the words, even as she collapsed beneath him, her body spent, sated. She smiled a smile that took over her entire face, her eyes shining.

"It's my turn! Relax and watch!" The plushie spoke again.

Homelander grinned as he fucked her harder. He wanted to make her come again before he did. He felt his cock twitching inside of her; he was so close.

Starlight gasped with surprise as he fucked into her faster, his body thrusting hers onto the plushie harder and deeper . His cock rammed in farther inside of her. Her body complied, her mind becoming vacant as he fucked her. With each push, her pleasure spiked higher and higher.

"All you have to do is believe in me!"

She reached a peak and then crashed over the edge, her body convulsing with pleasure. She heard herself cry out; the sound tore from her throat, her voice echoing around her bedroom.

Homelander felt himself reach his climax, his cock shooting ropes of come deep inside of her. He moaned out loudly as he came.

"Congratulations, hero! You got all your saves done today!"

Homelander and Starlight lay in post-coital reverie, both panting softly from their lovemaking. Homelander experienced a possession he had never felt. He never wanted to abandon her. He wanted her by his side. She was his now.

His . Not anyone else's. His .

"Come on, hero! Let's do it again!"

Homelander looked down to see the plushie speaking. He raised his eyebrow at his voice from the plushie, a grin crossing his face.

Starlight laughed and gasped again, her breath still irregular as her body pulsed with the aftershocks of their copulation. Her heavy-lidded eyes raised, and she looked at Homelander with a satisfied smile. "Little Homelander has got some stamina," she panted.

She followed his gaze to the plushie, her smile widening at the sight of him glaring at the toy. "Looks like he's ready for round two," she said.

When she said that, Homelander could not help but feel a twinge of possessiveness. And round two? That also sounded great to him, although in his own time. And then he extended his hand, tightened around the plushie. He threw a throw off the bed.

It hit the wall.

Starlight's eyes widened, and a look of amusement on her face as he threw the plushie away. She giggled again, looking again at the toy that had given her solace being tossed aside. "Poor Little Homelander," she laughed. "Tossed aside so easily."

Homelander's arms wrapped around her, pulling her tight into him. "You don't need little Homelander anymore," he muttered as he nuzzled his face into her hair.

Starlight melted into his embrace, her body molding against his, her head resting on his chest, and his supersuit top was abrasive against her cheek. Her hair spilled out over him, a tangled mess. She let out a soft sigh, her eyes closing as she soaked in his warmth and closeness. "No," she whispered, her voice a quiet agreement. I don't need him. I just need you."

Homelander's arms squeezed around her in the most possessive way, as if he was attempting to pull her closer. She didn't mind, though. His arms offered the warmth and security she needed. Rolling over so that she was nearly on top of him, her head lay heavily against his chest. She could hear his heart beneath her ear.

Starbright was asleep with her head on Homelander's chest and spread over his body. Listening to the familiar, reassuring pace of his heartbeat. But then, the plushie stirred and spoke in a monotone, speaking a prepared message.

"In my arms, you will always be safe!"
