Clyde Ahri was a famous detective from a section of Britain’s task force and has a knack for discovering many secrets. Secrets like the magical world being hidden away from the whole world with a simple glamor. If he were a muggle born and hated interesting things he would not be investigating the actual corrupt politics of it all.
His husband Alex Jin, a psychologist at a hospital, has a degree of criminal psychology but never pursued it. Even though they have different lifestyles or ways of thinking. Like Alex thinks that magical community needs to be studied thoroughly with a singular focus of Albus which Clyde uncovered somehow.
There’s a knock on the door Clyde ignored it but Alex didn’t and opened the door. A man in his 80s appeared with robes and a baby in his hands. Alex asked. “Hello?” Clyde walked over and asked. “Albus has too many names right?”
Albus looked shocked he knew that magical community is well hidden and said. “I have a request from you two.” Alex let the old man walk over inside their house and asked. “You mean you want us to adopt this baby?”
Albus looked shocked again and explained. “This baby is Harry Potter, his parents died recently. You are right with me asking to adopt this baby. How did you know? Mind reading?” Alex let out a big sigh and said. “It’s too easy, my husband already knew about it even before you got here.”
Clyde gave him a once over and said. “Baby in hand and magical adoption papers on the other hand. It’s not even puzzling how his parents died right?” Albus never knew this man was so smart and asked. “Are you perhaps magical as well?”
Clyde just groaned and said. “Not even an ounce of magical blood on me… Now good sir, I wish to talk about the corruption in your ranks?” Albus looked at him nervously and said. “I wish to talk about adoption first.”
Alex just gave Clyde a look that said. “He’s avoiding the question.” Clyde blinked his eyes and said. “Ok then! Let’s talk about adoption.” Albus sighed in relief and said. “Harry needs a good family and his relatives do not want him.”
Alex interrupted. “So you think that having a full time workload, specifically my husband even dangerous by standards, think we are good parents?” Albus looked dumbfounded and asked. “You need a child right?”
Clyde gave Alex a look. “He’s facing the door.” Clyde smiled and said. “Of course we have been planning. But magical adoption for us muggleborns is useless. I will see the adoption papers first.”
Albus gave the adoption papers to Clyde who analyzed with some interest and said. “Should we say that there’s an illegality in this paper?” Albus looked nervous again and said. “How did you know?” Clyde gave him a smirk and said. “Way too easy. I have seen too many papers in my life and half of them are perfect but not really.”
Alex gave Clyde a look. “Don’t piss him off too much.” Clyde sighed and said. “Ok then illegality aside I guess I can give this a good chance.” Alex added. “He knows you have an illegal adoption with this baby.”
Albus, way too shocked, asked. “I do have an adoption and it’s perfectly legal… You don’t know?” Clyde gave the paper once over and some numbers and letters changed and said. “Damn an underhanded trick wand waving… But I do have a sharp memory so there’s still illegality no matter how you change it.”
Alex gave a look at Clyde. “It seems like you need to look into it.” Clyde gave him a nod and said to Albus. “I will adopt this baby… Try something like changing rules, not even a magical community will save you.”
Albus shivered in fear at the notion and said. “All we need is your name, occupation and signature. I will personally deliver it to the office.” Clyde and Alex filled them up at a very fast pace. Clyde said. “I will investigate something when Harry grows up. I need to take him to the office if Alex has a full time shift.”
After a minute or so Clyde rechecked and signed it with his full name and Alex’s name on the papers and nodded. He said. “Now go on and leave. I have a case to investigate tomorrow. Send me updates on that illegality in the paper just now.”
Albus left with the papers and Clyde looked over to the baby. Harry cooes at him and reached out for his hand. Before Albus leaves he leaves supplies for the baby Clyde sighed in relief and said to Alex. “Lex, can you watch over Harry while I’m investigating.”
5 YEARS LATER
A 5 year old Harry Ahri ran around his Dad’s office. His Dad (Clyde) is such a sweet father he sometimes brought him to some crime scenes. Instead of being scared Harry was very interested and loves to see new things around his Dad’s office and the toys always getting ignored for case files.
After a while of slowly reading the case files he soon learned how to read on his own. Learning new words for him is too easy. Papa (Alex) always gives him new words to practice with.
Their teammates or in this case Dad’s always gives him candies and chocolates. Dad is at another crime scene today and he said it was very gruesome this time. He knows what that word means so he didn’t come over.
He checked the case files again and saw something very interesting. Magical community corruption? Harry asked himself. “Dad told me about this before… I guess I can look at this?”
Then he looked over the case files and saw numerous instances of apparating and floo networks. Harry said to himself. “I thought Dad was not into magic but why was he investigating this whole thing?” Then he saw the suspect's details and saw Albus with Illegal Adoption Papers.
Before he could continue Dad walked inside and asked. “Oh? You’re looking at my older case files?” Harry looked at him and said. “Yes Dad, I was interested, did you meet this Albus before?” Dad gave him a smile and answered. “I did, it was when you’re baby. Did you see any reports in the case file?”
Harry smiled excitedly and asked. “I saw some but something was missing, Dad what about the Illegal Adoption Papers?” Dad answered. “There was a sign of it in the original paper. He just changed it.”
Harry looked confused and asked. “It would be a forgery or tampering right?” Dad smiled happily and said. “Of course but more on tampering… What else did you see here?” Harry pointed out the floo network and said. “There was different transportation in their world and it’s connected to different places.”
