Work Text:
“Guys! Guys switch channels! Dynamight and Mirko are fighting a crazy villain! It’s so cool!” Hagakure shouts running into the dorm common room. At least, Izuku assumed she was running based on the speed of her clothing from the elevators to the couch, where she plopped down next to Uraraka. “Come on guys! It might be over any minute!”
“How long have they been fighting the villain?” Ojiro asks as Momo picks up the remote to change the channel over to the news.
“Like 10 minutes already.”
Izuku perks up at the image of Kacchan fighting on the screen. It’s a live feed of Dynamight flying through the air, yelling insults as he dodges clumps of clay thrown at him from the villain in the middle of the road. Izuku can just make out Mirko in the background, hopping along the sides of the buildings lining the street.
Izuku’s entranced – Kacchan looks gorgeous as he fights the clay villain, his hands firing off large explosions as he propels himself forward. A new camera angle appears on screen, from somewhere higher up. Most likely a helicopter, Izuku thinks. A snarling grin spreads wide across Kacchan’s mouth, red eyes glinting with ferocity, ready to blow the villain away.
He’s beautiful.
Izuku shifts his position in the chair he occupies to the right of the tv, not wanting to miss any of the fight.
“Weak ass punk!” Dynamight shouts, using both hands to blast at the villain. The man doesn’t go down, evading most of the attack. He’s light on his feet, despite the fact half of his body (which is covered in clay) has now hardened from the intense heat of Kacchan’s explosions. The clay villain even dodges an opening Kacchan had left for Mirko to use her Luna Ring. That’s gonna piss him off.
Izuku almost laughs out loud when the news station has to bleep out every other word as Kacchan starts cursing out the villain. Thought so.
Izuku watches the fight with rapt attention. Eyes taking in everything, but most importantly, Kacchan. The way his arms ripple with the blast of his explosions. The way he turns sharply as he flys. Bright teeth shining like he’s prepared to tear out the throat of his opponent.
Izuku shudders, remembering the feel of those teeth on him. Knows the bite strength behind that jaw and the way the heat in Kacchan’s eyes can shift from fierce to predatory.
The fight is over barely two minutes after they turned on the news; Kacchan using an attack maneuver that puts him on the opposite side of the villain and blasting the man so harshly he lays on the road actually smoking.
Another Dynamight victory.
Izuku’s cheeks hurt from smiling so wide at watching Kacchan work. Gets even bigger when Kacchan raises a fist in imitation of All Might.
“See, here’s the thing I don’t get,” Uraraka comments, finger tapping at her chin, “for someone who likes to imitate All Might, he sure does curse a lot.”
“Yes.” Iida agrees from somewhere behind them. Surely trying to study at one of the tables. “His demeanor is quite the opposite of All Might’s.”
“How come it’s always the hot ones who act like that? Can’t there be some sweet hot guys?” Hagakure bemoans.
“He is quite harsh.” Momo turns up the volume, just as a reporter tries to corner Kacchan.
“Pro Hero Dynamight!” the reporter shouts, “Dynamight!” She rushes forward, shoving a microphone towards the blonde's face. He pushes it out of the way stubbornly and keeps walking.
Oh, Kacchan. Izuku rolls his eyes fondly. Even after a couple years working as a student hero and now a pro, he still could care less about the press.
“Dynamight! Was the villain too much for you and Pro Hero Mirko? Is there a reason it took you both 15 minutes to subdue him?”
Kacchan froze in place. Izuku does the same, knowing this isn’t going to end well.
Dynamight about faces, stomping back over to the reporter, yanking the microphone out of her hand to say, “That villain was powerful but still didn’t hold a f***ing candle to me. It took f***ing 15 minutes cause Bitch ass motherf***ers like you and idiot civilians wouldn’t get out of our way to let Mirko and I do our f***ing jobs. There’s minimal property damage and zero injuries to civilians, yourself included. The next time you want to question my ability as a hero, think first about your ability to be a journalist.”
Shoving the microphone back into the reporter's chest, Kacchan, in signature Dynamight style, steps back to throw up two middle fingers. Izuku snickers at the aghast sounds around the room. Dynamight drops one hand beside him, while using the other to throw the number one sign at the camera.
Warmth bubbles in Izuku’s chest. Quickly pulling his phone from his pocket, he sends Kacchan an orange heart with a number 1 next to it; letting him know he saw the fight. They’d come up with it a long time ago when Kacchan had first started at UA, just to let Izuku know he was doing great and aiming for that number one spot. Eventually, it morphed into a sign that he was okay on the field and thinking of Izuku.
With the amount of times he’s done it over the years, Kacchan thinks about him a lot. Not that Izuku can’t say the same.
“How can someone so mean be in the top 20 already?” Sato says. Izuku jumps, not having realized the big guy had come in from the kitchen. “He was kind of cruel to that reporter.”
Said reporter speaks to the camera, eyes still a bit wide. “A uh, delightful… commentary on today’s villain fight by our number 20 Pro Hero Dynamight.”
“Colorful, more like it.” Tsu says from the other side of Uraraka.
“I wonder what made Mirko believe him to be the best hero to sidekick with her?” Ojiro thinks aloud. “Beyond his skills. That reporter was wrong to phrase her question that way, but his rudeness doesn’t particularly set him up to be at another agency.”
“Yes. Not everyone can handle such a personality.” Momo joins in.
Uraraka shrugs, “Maybe no one else would have taken him on?”
“That’s not true.” Izuku blurts.
Everyone instantly turns to look at him, ignoring the TV station that continues to follow the villain being arrested and placed into a transport vehicle. Izuku flushes under their gazes, secretly hoping they’ll all turn back to the live feed. His classmates continue to blink and stare at him, expectantly.
No such luck, apparently.
Izuku swallows and sits up straighter in his chair. “It’s not true. Ka– Dynamight was offered multiple offers with different hero agencies around the country. He chose to stay with Mirko who he’d done a year of student hero work with.”
“I guess they are quite similar in their brashness.” Iida acknowledges.
“But how did he go up in rankings so fast?” Hagakure asks, shifting on the couch to stare, Izuku assumes again, at him, with the way her shirt and gloved hand are directed towards him. “He’s been a pro for barely over a year now. That’s not a normal hero ranking jump.”
“It’s not.” Izuku acknowledges, pride swelling in his chest at how amazing Kacchan has been out in the world, working alongside Mirko and other Pros, fighting villains, saving people and traveling to do team-up missions. Normally, someone like Izuku wouldn’t be privy to the details of these missions, but Kacchan and him can’t help themselves. Especially, when Kacchan calls him, just to hear him theorize.
God, Izuku loves that man.
“He didn’t bribe someone, did he?” Sato stage whispers to Ojiro and Momo.
“What?!” Izuku looks at the sugar hero in shock. “How could you even think that?”
“I –” Sato looks taken aback, but Izuku doesn’t let him get a word in.
“Ka – Dynamight, has had one of the highest record of saves in the past year, not just as a rookie but overall as a pro hero. He’s not only been involved in multiple small cases, which have been solved in his own prefecture including cold cases, but he is also one of the few rookies to be involved in multiple high ranking team-up missions around the country and a couple around the world. He works hard to ensure cases are solved fully and fairly.
“If you look at cases over the past year, you can see a decline in wrongful treatment of villains and wrongful incarcerations. Kacchan has some of the lowest stats of civilian injuries and casualties. For a rookie and pro combined. Including, keeping property damage down. Though,” Izuku admits, “He does still need to work on that a bit more.
“Not only has Kacchan been a force on the field, he is also involved in his community. A spokesperson against bullying, spending mornings at community centers to help underprivileged youth and he speaks out against pro heroes and other people in powerful positions when they try to take advantage of people and the systems in place.
“The public likes him despite his brash attitude and language because he’s proven over and over again that he is the best and will keep being the best. The public likes Kacchan because of his assurance as a pro; despite how egotistical he can get. Kacchan is one of the best heroes out there and he’s only 23.” Izuku finishes, huffing a bit in agitation in front of the few classmates in the common area.
Wait, when did he stand up?
“Kacchan?” Uraraka says, cocking her head to the side.
“Yeah, what do you mean, Kacchan?!” Hagakure squeals.
“Midoriya, do you know pro hero Dynamight?” Momo questions.
Oh.
Shit.
He hadn’t meant to let it all out like that. Really — he just wanted them to understand. Understand more than they can really get from a couple fights on the TV. Or seeing his temper flare when a reporter doesn’t even know how to respond to him correctly.
Izuku doesn’t know from experience yet, but he’s seen how often civilians stand in the way of a pro hero working. How often they can get in the way because they don’t mind the police barricades, or disregarding their own safety when the police aren’t there to monitor. It’s more than half the battle at this point trying to keep civilians safe while taking down a villain who most likely doesn’t care who gets hurt in the process. Including the press.
He’s only known his classmates for a short time, though. Barely three weeks, and he trusts them already so much. But he doesn’t know them well enough to go blabbing that him and Kacchan – a highly ranked, in the limelight pro hero – are dating. And have been dating for just over a year.
Izuku bites his lip, remembering their lovely romantic one year anniversary in late March. And the birthday surprise Izuku had for Kacchan over this past weekend. Mmm, he misses him so much already.
He can’t tell his classmates, and soon to be fast friends, this information because they’re trying to keep their relationship on the down low for now. Just until Izuku graduates. The paparazzi are hazardous at the best of times. Only a small group of people know that they’re dating. The rest of the world just thinks they’re friends. That’s the beauty of being a same sex couple – you can technically go out on dates without people knowing you’re on a date.
It’s been nice when they can get away to a different location, though. Not that they’ve had much time recently, what with Kacchan’s Pro Hero career and Izuku heavily focused on mastering One For All and getting into UA.
“Yeah. I know him.” Izuku smiles at his almost friends, especially when the awe spreads across their faces. “He’s my best friend.”
* * *
They didn’t always have the greatest relationship.
There was a chunk of time when Izuku wasn’t sure Kacchan would ever even be his friend again.
A time when Izuku was too young to understand why Kacchan didn’t want to hang out with him anymore. A time when Kacchan thought what he wanted wasn’t possible. But still too young to understand his own emotions.
Izuku’s happy that phase of their lives is over, because it allows him to be in his current position – sprawled out on Kacchan’s couch, with his boyfriend’s muscular form laid on top of him, Kacchan’s arms wrapped tight around his waist, head finding comfort on his stomach. Izuku twines one hand through blonde spikes, lightly scratching Kacchan’s scalp in random intervals, earning him a pleased hum.
The TV is low, playing a rerun of an older pre-quirk show. The sun brightens up the living room nicely. Izuku reads quietly from his Human Behavior and Social Environment course book on his tablet.
If someone were to ask him about his happy place it would be this right here.
Cozy and warm. Satiated and peaceful. Tranquil and serene.
However, he has another happy place. One that is for him and Kacchan only. It included him getting dicked down hard, followed by a warm afterglow. Before, of course, having to return to the real world.
Right now, Izuku finds comfort in the quiet. Content with the weight of Kacchan’s body on his own, hair between his fingers and Kacchan’s hands warm against his skin where they rest against his back inside Izuku’s shirt.
Another twenty or so minutes pass in this bubble. Just them and the universe.
Then Kacchan’s phone buzzes at the far end of the coffee table; just far enough away that Izuku can’t reach it to silence the damn thing. Kacchan grunts annoyed into his stomach, but doesn't move, letting it eventually go silent.
Izuku resumes threading his fingers through blonde hair, giving a particularly focused scratch around the crown of Kacchan’s head. His boyfriend moans in appreciation, turning his head to lay a kiss on Izuku's stomach over his shirt. Flutters still pull low in Izuku’s belly at the casual affection. Izuku goes to do it again when Kacchan’s phone buzzes loudly once more.
Red eyes lift to meet his, blinking slowly from being an appeased cat, to quick annoyance. “Who the fuck?” Kacchan grunts, pulling away to grab his phone. Izuku already misses his warmth, despite one hand still stuck under his body – Kacchan using his other hand and the tv remote to guide his phone closer.
“Hello?” Kacchan answers, the gruffness of his voice makes Izuku think of a grumpy cat. Kacchan settles a bit more into his new position, where his upper body leans more into the couch, over Izuku’s thigh and hip, but still laid out in the valley of his legs.
“Yo bombshell, what are your plans for tomorrow?”
Mirko’s voice comes clear through the speakers. Izuku receives a pinch along the skin of his back for snickering at the nickname Mirko gave Kacchan after taking him on in his third year of UA. Even after two years, it still makes Izuku crack up.
“None of your business, rabbit.”
“Be nice.” Izuku whispers. Kacchan leans over to bite at Izuku’s covered chest in retaliation. “Ow! Stop.” He says a bit louder than intended and uses the fingers still wrapped up in Kacchan’s hair, to grip it tightly to pull his face away. Those red eyes glint mischievously, a new kind of warmth settling there that wasn’t present a minute ago.
“Oh ho ho!” Mirko laughs, and they’re both reminded of the phone call. “I didn’t interrupt, did I? Wouldn’t want my fellow bunny going too long without getting di–”
“Mirko!” Izuku shouts.
“Shut up, rabbit!” Kacchan yells into the phone.
She only laughs at them. “Just saying.”
“Well fucking don’t,” Kacchan grumbles, cheeks and ears aflame. Izuku is embarrassed too, but the pink is really cute to see on Kacchan. Not many people can get him to flush. Izuku takes pride in being the topic that typically does it.
“Alright, chill bombshell.” Kacchan growls at the nickname. Though Izuku knows he’s not really irritated as he settles down once more into the couch and Izuku’s body. “But for real, kid, what are you doing tomorrow?”
“It’s the UA Sports Festival.”
“Yeah, and? Are you going or what?”
“Well,” Kacchan rolls his eyes. Izuku tugs his hair again. Red eyes lock with his and Izuku has a feeling after this phone call that he’s going to get to be in his other happy place. “Considering it’s Izuku’s first time, I’m going to watch. That’s literally why I scheduled time off a couple months ago. I wasn’t missing this shit.”
“You sure like hogging all his firsts, huh?” She cackles.
“I will fucking hang up on you.” Kacchan threatens.
Izuku speaks up at the same time, ensuring he’s loud enough for Mirko to hear him. “Don’t worry, I took his virginity too, Mirko.” This sends the number seven hero into another round of laughter.
Kacchan pushes up off the couch, hands leaving Izuku’s body. Though Izuku misses it, the cozy atmosphere has disappeared with the phone call and is quickly being replaced with one of the most delicious tensions. Kacchan’s hand pushes Izuku’s face to the side, palm hot against his cheek, body weight pressing him down, down, down. He tries to grab at Kacchan’s wrist to pull him off, but there’s no budging. Though they both know Izuku could throw Kacchan off, it was all part of the game.
“Fuck both of you!” Kacchan shouts, aggravation growing. “What the fuck do you want me to do? Cause if it’s a call to come in and help with a case, I’m not taking it.”
Izuku’s heart swells. Kacchan would decline hero work to come see him at the sports festival. He knows Kacchan loves him, has heard the words said aloud, muttered into his skin and written in messages. But when Kacchan shows his love in the way he knows best, action, it makes Izuku fall for him all over again.
“No, no,” Mirko says through her laughter, “nothing like that. I respect your time off. Just needed to know if you could look out for any potential first years, including the ones from 1A since the whole USJ thing.”
“What? Why?” Kacchan pulls his hand off Izuku’s face, settling into an odd sitting position between Izuku’s legs.
The mention of the USJ dimmed the sexual light burning from Kacchan’s eyes and he doesn’t like it one damn bit. Sure, it was terrifying when a group of villains calling themselves ‘The League’ attacked UA’s high security training facility, but Izuku was fine. His class was fine. And even more importantly, All Might was fine.
But Kacchan was still obsessing over it. Over Izuku. Especially after Izuku told him about the Nomu, and how he tried to help All Might. Especially against the guy who could decay whatever he touched. Izuku knows Kacchan and Mirko had joined up with a specialized team looking into these villains and the Nomu. They hadn’t found anything yet, but the case was wide open with UA at its center.
Kacchan, though, still held Izuku a little tighter when it was brought up, fingers itching to pull Izuku’s freckled skin closer than he was physically able. Like he wanted to weld Izuku to him and never let him out of his sight.
“Fucking commission’s up my ass again,” Mirko grumbles. “Actually up the asses of all the top 10. But me especially, since you’re the only intern I’ve ever taken. They now want me looking for potential future candidates. Pfft.” Izuku can practically hear her roll her eyes, “Like I’m gonna take on another pipsqueak.”
“Last time I checked, I won our last fight.”
“Keep telling yourself that, boom-boom boy.”
Kacchan doesn’t fall for the nickname distraction. “And you can’t look for interns because…?”
“Because, I’ll be patrolling around town with my beautiful wife while Endeavor’s away.”
“Where the fuck is that nutsack going?”
“Todoroki-kun is in my class, Kacchan,” Izuku reminds him at the same time Mirko does.
“Okay,” Kacchan huffs, “And you can’t get his notes? He’s a shit person, but at least he’s got a sharp eye when it comes to heroes.”
“Look,” Mirko sounds exasperated, “Endeavor doesn’t treat that kid right. Never has.”
Izuku thinks back to the way Todoroki-kun spoke about his quirk. How he only ever used the ice from his right side, almost detrimentally. Huh.
“Burnin and the rest of the sidekicks think he’s going to be so obsessed watching his kid he’s not going to be looking at anybody else.”
Kacchan sighs, rubbing at his eyes, before letting them drift to lock once more with Izuku’s. He gives Kacchan a small side smile to say, ‘yeah she’s right’.
“Fine,” Kacchan says without looking away. “But don’t call me again. Fuck off.” Then promptly hangs up without waiting for a response.
“Kacchan,” Izuku admonishes.
“She deserved it for interrupting.”
Izuku shakes his head. He would message Mirko himself to apologize on behalf of Kacchan, but that’s just the way those two are. Mirko has hung up on Kacchan plenty of times and vice versa.
Silence hangs in the air for half a second, just them looking at the other. Heat bubbles under Izuku’s skin from those eyes alone. Nevermind the fantasies his brain begins supplying him — warm lips, bruising fingers, being stuffed and filled.
“So,” Izuku tries his hand, “the couch or the bed?”
Fire ignites once again, as if the conversation hadn’t even happened with Mirko. A pleasant shiver runs up Izuku’s spine.
“If you can make it to the bed before I bend you over, then sure,” Kacchan smirks, tongueing at his incisor, “bed it is.”
Izuku wastes no time flaring OFA to life and taking off.
If he gets fucked on the rug in the hallway a couple feet from Kacchan’s bedroom door, that’s between him and the walls.
* * *
It’s not often Izuku sees Kacchan at this level of pissed off and happy. Practically squeezing the life out of him with his barrel arms, while simultaneously yelling in his ear about how he’s ‘so fucking stupid’ and ‘you know you could have taken him’ and ‘you didn’t need to break yourself to be his hero’.
Someone snickers and Izuku looks over Kacchan’s shoulder, which his face is pressed against tightly, to glare at Kaminari. The other blonde just shakes his head. Izuku glares even harder.
“Fucking surgery, Deku! What the absolute fuck were you thinking, huh?” Kacchan pulls back to grip Izuku firmly by his shoulders, shaking him. Izuku can only hold on with one hand, while the other stays firmly in the sling. “You fucking stupid –ugh! You’ve trained better than this!”
“He had to know, Kacchan.”
Kacchan growls in annoyance, ready to lay into Izuku again. But he speaks up first, “Todoroki had to know that he could do so much more. Could still use his quirk without thinking it made him like his dad!”
“Fuck,” Kacchan groans again, “I know, okay. I know.”
Izuku is confused. He knows that Izuku tried to help him because of his issues with his father? Or that Todoroki told him in detail about the issues with his father?
“You’re a little fucking hero, always putting others before yourself.” Guess he’s not going to elaborate, “But shit, Izuku, look at your hand. You fucked up your fingers because you didn’t think about yourself once while you were out there. What would you have done if surgery couldn’t have fixed you, huh?”
Anger flares in Izuku’s chest. He didn’t think he’d have to explain it to Kacchan, who was already a Pro, but fine. He steps back to glare up at his boyfriend who glares back just as harshly. “I would still be a hero, Kacchan! I would still try and save people because that’s what a hero does.”
“That’s what normal heroes do.” Kacchan spits back, “You take it to a whole other level where you’re willing to break yourself, literally,” He gestures to Izuku’s arm, “when you’re not even in a life or death situation!”
“Guys,” Kaminari tries to get their attention, “Maybe you shouldn't do this here.” Neither him nor Kacchan pay attention.
“I helped him!” Izuku shouts back.
“With no regard for yourself!”
“Guys,” Kaminari tries again, stepping into Izuku’s peripheral.
“I didn’t matter then!”
“You always matter!” Kacchan fires back. Izuku is surprised to see tears forming in the corner of his eyes. And then softer, Kacchan says, “You always matter. Even when you’re being a hero.”
“I– I know.” Izuku’s surprised by how fast the anger melts from him, “That’s not how I meant it.”
Kaminari shoves both of them. Izuku stumbles along with Kacchan into another hallway. He looks at the pro in confusion.
“The fuck, Pikachu?” Kacchan voices both of their questions.
“You two need to talk. And you were in the middle of a hallway beginning to fill with people. God,” He shakes his head at them, “with the way you two lose focus around the other I’m surprised you haven’t been run over on the road yet.”
“Hey!” They both take offense. Izuku feels like that was uncalled for despite the truth behind Kaminari’s comment.
“Look, I’ll stand a little further down so you won’t get interrupted. But just talk to each other, okay?” He rolls his eyes then does as he said he would, moving the ten or so feet to the entrance of the side hallway to give them some privacy and be a look out.
“Kacchan?” Izuku flicks his eyes back up to his boyfriends’ only to find those red eyes already looking at him. “I… I’m sorry.”
“Do not apologize for being a hero.”
“I didn’t mean to go so far.”
Kacchan blows out a breath, unfolding his arms from across his chest. He reaches one hand out in invitation.
Izuku takes it immediately, feeling instant relief of those fingers intertwining with his own. Smooth against Izuku’s callouses. Soft where Izuku’s are rough. Gentle and warm, which does something to Izuku’s heart, as he has intimate knowledge of the incredible power those palms can create.
“I’m sorry for yelling.” Kacchan apologizes. It takes Izuku half a second to recognize the apology because Kacchan often isn’t the one giving them out.
“It’s okay –”
“No.” Kacchan holds up a hand to silence Izuku. “It’s really not.” He huffs and glances to the side quickly before locking eyes once again with Izuku. Past the now fading anger, Izuku can see worry hidden there. “I let my fear and worry take over. I yelled at you because I didn’t handle it well. I’m sorry.”
Izuku squeezes Kacchan’s hand, nodding. “I’m sorry for yelling, too.” A pause, then Izuku says, “You were scared? For me?”
“No.” He rejects immediately, then sighs, rubbing the tears out of his eyes when Izuku gives him a ‘are-you-kidding-me’ look. “Fine. Yes, I was… scared.” He admits again, “Because I knew you wouldn’t stop until you got that Half-n-Half bastard to use his fire. I was scared there wasn’t going to be anything of you left. I love you for putting your everything into what you do, and it scares the shit outta me.”
Izuku’s breath stutters, “Kacchan…”
“You’ve always been a hero, even before you got a quirk. You’ve never needed one to be a hero.”
Izuku recalls hearing the same words when Kacchan apologized all those years ago for the bullying he did to Izuku in their youth. Hearing them again settles something Izuku hadn’t realized was raging in his heart.
“Now you have a quirk that can help you reach more than just the people in your life. And I know you’re going to do amazing things with it.”
Tears threatening to spill from Izuku’s eyes as Kacchan continues on. “What I need you to know is that I’m terrified you’re going to burn yourself out at the rate you’re going. Because you never take yourself into account. Not that I want you to stop,” Kacchan is quick to reassure. “I just –” He wets his lips. “I just want you to know you mean more than just being a hero. And you don’t have to do it alone.”
Izuku can feel his tears wetting his cheeks. Kacchan’s words cut into him, but at the same time soothing over cracks he hadn’t realized had formed. Izuku steps forward to press himself bodily into Kacchan’s chest, unwilling to let go of Kacchan’s hand. Izuku feels a bit awkward only holding Kacchan’s hand, unable to use his other arm to wrap his fingers delicately around his boyfriend's waist. Kacchan reaches up to settle a hand in his curls, pressing Izuku’s head further into his chest. His chin rests on the crown of Izuku’s head.
“I’m sorry I scared you.”
A kiss is placed on the top of his curls. “Not the first time and it won’t be the last.”
Izuku nods, head rubbing against Kacchan’s shirt. Their hands stay interlaced at their sides and the sling Izuku wears presses awkwardly into Kacchan’s stomach. His breathing comes out a bit shaky, and he admits something he didn’t think he’d ever bring up to another person or even outside of his own mind.
“I don’t know how.”
Another kiss is placed on the top of his head. Izuku sniffles. “I’ll help you. The idiots will help you. Even your new friends will help. But I will remind you everyday if I have to that you matter too, Izuku. And you listen. And trust that I mean it.”
Too much. It’s too much. “But I –”
“No.” Kacchan insists, tightening his hands – almost on the verge of too tight – in Izuku’s curls, slowly shaking his head back and forth. As if he could shake what he’s trying to say into Izuku. “No. Your health and well being are important, too. I’m sorry for being one of the people to have torn you down and make you believe you didn’t matter.”
Izuku tries to protest but Kacchan keeps going.
“And I will spend the rest of my life regretting what I did. But we’ve moved past that. We’re better now. So don’t stop listening to me and know I've always thought you mattered. That you were always the most important person. Not just to me, but to our parents and our friends. All Might. Plus your stupid new friends.” Izuku chuckles wetly, “You matter, Izuku. More than… more than you know.”
“Okay.”
This has been the most Kacchan’s spoken in some time. Izuku finds it ironic that usually it’s the other way around, Izuku’s mouth running a million miles a minute about anything and everything, but typically about how amazing Kacchan is.
The hand in his curls directs Izuku’s face up and out of Kacchan’s chest. He lets himself be pulled out of his hiding spot so Kacchan can lean down to press his lips firmly to Izuku’s.
“Uh, guys…” Kaminari’s voice interrupts.
Right.
Right, they’re in public. At the UA Sports Festival. Too many people around. Though Izuku is happy they were able to find a bit of privacy in such a crowded area.
“Izuku’s friends are looking for him.”
Kacchan moves to press his lips firmly to Izuku’s forehead. Izuku breathes in deeply through his nose, letting it out slowly through his mouth. Okay. As much as he doesn’t want to leave Kacchan’s side, he should probably see what his friends want him for.
Izuku places a kiss on Kacchan's shirt, directly over his heart. Kacchan responds with one last kiss to his forehead before they step away from each other. They walk back to the entrance of the hallway, where Kaminari stands.
Kaminari just smiles at them, then juts his chin in the direction of the infirmary door. Shinso, Uraraka and Tokoyami stand in a huddle pointing in different directions.
Izuku reaches to give Kaminari’s hand a squeeze in gratitude before stepping out into the main thoroughfare towards his friends, calling out to them. All three turn to him, relief evident on their faces. Uraraka rushes over, with Shinso and Tokoyami trailing behind at a slower pace.
“Deku-kun, hi! Did the surgery go okay?” Her smile is bright and wide, coming to a stop in front of him, Kaminari, and Kacchan.
“Yeah,” He nods, patting the sling. “Just need to wear this for a couple days with one more healing session. Then I’ll be good to go.”
“Oh, good! We were all really worried after Recovery Girl made us leave your room.”
“Good to see you’re alright, Midoriya,” Shinso says, having caught up to Uraraka.
“Yes, that fight was intense,” Tokoyami comments.
Izuku nods, flushing a little, hand reaching up to rub the back of his head. “Yeah.” After everything Kacchan just brought up he still feels a sense of pride in helping Todoroki, but now more aware of how bad he ended up hurting himself.
“You’re Pro Heroes Chargebolt and Dynamight, aren’t you?” Shinso looks between Izuku’s boyfriend and his friend.
“That’s Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight to you first years.”
“Kacchan.” Izuku chastises, slapping aimlessly at his boyfriend’s body behind him.
“He’s only half kidding.” Kaminari laughs before giving a little wave to the three of them. “But yeah, I’m Chargebolt. Nice to meet Midobro’s friends.”
Izuku catches the way the top of Shinso’s ears turn a light pink, eyes unable to fully meet Kaminari’s. Oooh, Izuku smirks to himself, how interesting.
“Nice to meet you, too.” They chorus.
“So, what’s up?” Izuku asks.
“Oh!” Uraraka says, “The awards ceremony is about to start.”
“Everyone is supposed to head back onto the field.” Tokoyami adds.
“Oh shit, already?” Three heads nod, “Okay. uh, let’s go.” He gestures them forward. Izuku turns to look at Kacchan one more time.
A rare wide smile, showing his teeth, makes Izuku’s heart skip a beat. “I’ll catch you later, nerd.”
Izuku nods, trying to tell Kacchan how much he loved him with eyes alone.
“Yeah Mido, we’ll catch up with you after.” Kaminari says, then grabs onto Kacchan to pull him away.
“Bye.” Izuku says softly, then turns to follow his new friends to the arena field.
* * *
“Kacchan.”
“I told you, no, Deku.”
“But, Kacchan.”
“Not until I get back.”
“But –”
“Izuku.”
Izuku growls in annoyance, fists clenched at his sides doing his best to keep them from reaching for the hem of his shorts. “If I don’t masturbate I honestly fear for my test scores.”
“Then study better. You’re a nerd, aren’t you?”
“You're a nerd.” Izuku grumbles. He hates him right now. He’s literally going to fail his exams because Kacchan told him absolutely no orgasms while he’s away in Hakaido.
“You are fucking not.” Oops, he must have said that last bit out loud. “Because if you fail an exam I’m not only going to beat the answers into your skull, I’m going to have All Might tell you how disappointed he is in you.”
“Kacchan.” Izuku pouts, “Don’t bring All Might into this when I’m trying to seduce you.”
“You’re doing a piss poor job of it.”
“That’s not nice to piss on the poor, Kacchan.” The screech from the other side of his phone makes Izuku cackle.
“That wasn’t funny the first time Pikachu did it! And it hasn’t been funny any other time you fuckers try it!”
Izuku hums in response, because the joke may have run its course in their group, the reason he still uses it is because of the way it gets Kacchan all riled up.
“I guess it’ll be fine,” Izuku sighs, doing his best to bring out the pout in his voice all while bringing out the big guns. “If I fail, I know Kacchan can support me and I’ll be his best husband. Making him meals, cleaning the house. Settling myself into our home – working out in the living room, filling the spare room with our combined hero merch, folding our combined laundry, reading on the couch in my fuzzy socks.” Izuku can tell it’s working with the way Kacchan’s breathing has begun to labor. He pulls out the last gun in his arsenal, “Greeting Kacchan in nothing but his favorite t-shirts, ready for him to use me after a long day.”
The deep moan from the other side of the phone makes Izuku cheer internally and he shifts on the bed to get ready.
“One.” Kacchan says, “You get one orgasm, you fucking brat.”
Izuku squirms, hands immediately going to his shorts to pull them down to his thighs. Cock already half-hard — which has been its basic state since Kacchan left two weeks ago.
“Thank you, Kacchan.” He breathes.
“Fu-u-ck, Izuku.” Kacchan stutters a moan. Izuku bites his lip, keeping his own pleased sound low on the possibility his dorm mates are studying in their rooms. It’s not likely, as he’d seen everyone downstairs at the common room tables, but he could never be too careful.
“Are you touching yourself?”
Izuku shakes his head despite Kacchan not being able to see him, “No. Waiting for you.”
“Good baby.” Kacchan praises, “I’ve got my hand around my cock already thinking it’s your mouth on me. Touch yourself and think about my cock in your mouth.”
Izuku closes his eyes to simulate the fantasy better. His hand goes straight to his shaft, wrapping his fingers around it, sighing a soft moan at the relief that fills him.
“You always take me so well, Izuku. Lips wrapped around me so perfectly. Tongue doing that wonderful thing to the underside.” Izuku’s mouth is open wide, tongue laving over nothing but air, though the memory of Kacchan’s dick in his mouth has him panting and wanting, dick aching like he’s really there sucking him down.
“Talk to me, Izuku.”
Izuku swallows the spit forming in his mouth. God, he wants Kacchan here. But he’ll settle for this. He’ll take anything Kacchan will give him.
“I’m playing with my head, thinking it’s your fingers on me. Kacchan’s fingers. All warm and heated from your quirk.” Izuku’s cock gives a twitch in anticipation. “Want Kacchan’s hands on me, marking me up.”
“I’ll give you so many marks, baby.” Kacchan groans and Izuku can see in his mind's eye, his boyfriend playing along the deep vein that runs under his shaft imagining it’s Izuku’s tongue.
“I’m imagining taking Kacchan’s cock deep into my throat.” Izuku wants to cry as he plays with his slit, pre leaking out already. “Want Kacchan to mark my insides like my outsides.”
“Oh fuck,” Kacchan gasps sharply. “I’d grip your hair tight and hold you against me while I cum down that gorgeous throat of yours. Fuck, fuck –” he pants, then orders, “Press into your perineum and keep fisting over yourself, imagining my hands covering you, baby.”
Izuku’s breath stutters, balls tightening at the image splayed across his brain of Kacchan laid over top of him, thumbing the area between his balls and ass while jacking him off. “Shit.”
“That’s right,” Kacchan huffs, “Keep going, just like that, baby.”
“Kacchan.” Izuku groans. Too loud, he’s too loud. He turns on his side a bit to bite his pillow. “Kacchan.” the groan is muffled.
“That’s it - huff - huff - only those sounds for your Kacchan. Your sounds belong to me, your orgasms belong to me, you’re mine, Deku.”
Izuku’s cock spurts, and he fists over it just that much tighter, making sure to thumb his slit when he passes over his head. “Kacchan.” The moan is practically a cry.
“You’re close aren’t you?”
“Yes.” He admits, pulling his mouth away to fill his lungs with much needed air, before biting his pillow again.
“Me too.” Izuku groans in anticipation. Fuck, he needed this –
A sharp knock sounds from somewhere in his room and a soft, “Deku?” is called.
It startles Izuku enough to pause; the orgasm he was chasing slowly fading, though his cock is still rock hard and leaking.
“Deku?” the knock sounds again, this time with the realization that Uraraka is calling him from the other side of the door.
“Tell ‘em to fuck off.” Kacchan’s voice is tight in anger at being interrupted.
“I…” Izuku feels stuck, trying to keep that haze he’d been in with Kacchan, but it sounds like his friends have a real question. What are they doing up here, anyway?
“We had some questions about past hero versus villain fights and how to analyze them,” Iida’s loud voice comes through much clearer than Uraraka’s, “and we know you’re the best at analyzing.”
Kacchan’s voice comes through louder, “Now, Izuku. Or there’s no touching until I get back. And no touching me, until I’m satisfied with your performance.”
That just can’t happen.
“I’m a little,” Izuku coughs at the roughness of his voice. Swallowing tightly he tries again, “I’m a little busy, right now. I’ll meet you downstairs!”
“Do you need help with any questions?” Momo’s lilt asks.
Oh god, Izuku could just die.
“Deku, I’m losing patience.” Kacchan growls near his ear.
Izuku tries again, “No! I’m fine! I’ll just finish what I’m working on and be down in thirty! Promise!”
“Okay, Deku!” Uraraka says for the whole group and by some miracle they all leave his door.
“Oh, you are gonna hate me when I get back.” Kacchan grunts.
Fear shoots through Izuku, “What?”
“First, I’m going to open you up so nicely on my fingers and tongue that you’re gonna be begging for me to stuff it in you.” The imagery Kacchan begins to paint makes Izuku forget all about his friend's interruption, hand fisting around his cock once more.
“Then when you’re good and open, I’m gonna fill you with a vibrating plug that I’ll control from my phone. All the while you cockwarm me with that gorgeous mouth of yours. You won’t get to move unless I direct you to whatever position I like.” Izuku’s cock twitches and he moans into his hand. His balls have tightened back up and the pre is leaking again.
God, what Kacchan does to him.
“And when I’m satisfied with your work? I’m going to edge you for as many days as I've been gone. Until you’re crying and begging for release, all the while, I’ll be filling your tight fucking hole,”
“Kacchan!” Izuku cries, the urge to release rises up again.
“Over and over and over again. You’ll be dripping with me. My mark left all over your insides. And while I recover, waiting to fuck my cum back into you,” Izuku moans so loud he swears the whole floor could hear him, “I’ll leave bruise after bruise, handprint after handprint, my teeth imbedded into your skin. Permanently marking your body as mine and mine only.”
Tears rise up in his eyes and leak out of the corners, running down his temples, into his hair. “Kacchan, please.”
“When I’ve reached your edge limit, you’ll cum when I say so. And then you’ll cum again and again until you’ll be begging me to stop.”
“Kacchan!” Izuku cries, legs shaking from staving off his orgasm.
“Who only gets to hear you, baby?”
“Kacchan! Kacchan only!”
“Good boy. Cum, Izuku.”
Izuku lets his orgasm wash over him, shouting, “Kacchan!” as he does. The utter bliss spreads through him and out over his fingers.
“Fuck, just like that baby. Yes. Fuck, Deku, you sound so good.”
“Kacchan.” Izuku sighs, body twitching as aftershocks flood his system.
Kacchan moans deep and low, “Izuku.” Izuku smiles to himself at the sound of his name on Kacchan’s lips as he cums.
Eyes half lidded, Izuku shucks off his shorts and underwear from the rest of him. Then grabs a couple tissues he keeps on his nightstand to clean up his hand and flagging cock.
“Shit, Izuku.” Kacchan huffs into the phone. “We’re doing that more often, holy fuck.”
Izuku sighs, loving the haze that still fills him, “Kacchan was great.”
“Your Kacchan better have been with the shit that just happened.” A pause, “Your voice, Deku. Holy fuck.” A sigh and Izuku imagines Kacchan running a hand through his hair. “I wish I was there with you. I want to bite you.”
Izuku giggles, knowing he would. Bite his thighs, his chest, his cheeks, especially. A horrible ache fills Izuku’s chest, tears fill his eyes, though this time for a very different reason.
“I miss you.” He whispers.
“I miss you, too, baby.” Kacchan whispers back. “I want to kiss you all over your stupid face.”
Izuku smiles, despite the ache still residing right next to his heart. “Kacchan loves me.”
“Yeah, Izuku, I love you.”
“I love Kacchan.”
“I know.”
* * *
Izuku groans, rubbing at his eyes as he waits for the coffee machine to finish filling. He normally would have taken from the house pot Shinso starts in the morning, but he’s up much later than usual. And the pot was most likely emptied by his friends as they left on their Saturday errands.
Izuku had plans, but they got derailed. His body still aches – there’s definitely a large bruise on his cheek and though they’re treated and covered now, a couple light burns marr his skin. Nothing worse than he’s received before, when he and Kacchan spar, but last night was one of the most emotionally taxing fights he’s had.
So much so that Kacchan is still asleep in Izuku’s bed upstairs.
His hip settles against the counter, body heavy with exhaustion and worry.
It’s been a couple years since Kacchan had felt the need to work out his emotions in a full out fight. Sure, they’ve both found solace in a quick spar here and there when emotions run high. But this was something Izuku hasn’t seen since Kacchan was far into his career at UA.
Tightness pulls against his chest, Izuku presses a hand there to hold himself together. Kacchan needs him right now. Needs him to be a rock in a storm. As cliche as the saying is, Izuku works best with cliches and oddities. He just wishes he’d seen it sooner. Seen Kacchan breaking before it happened.
Should have tried to get Kacchan to talk about what happened to him; about Kamino.
He needs to be there for Kacchan now. And he wants to be. A creeping worry, however, eats away at his own heart – that he might not be enough.
Stop. Izuku grits his teeth, sighing heavily. His shit can come later. Especially after the way he realized how much Kacchan was trying to uphold on his own. What the weight of All Might’s retirement did to him… and the kidnapping.
Izuku’s nose burns with incoming tears. He bites his lip, sniffling to try and lessen their impact.
There’s a story his mom and Kacchan’s parents like to tell from the time Izuku was first born. Kacchan was four years old, quirk having come in early that summer. Just barely able to make sparks from those tiny palms.
A few weeks after Izuku’d been brought home from the hospital, the Bakugous were bringing Kacchan over to meet Izuku for the first time. But Izuku had been crying inconsolably. So badly the parents were exhausted in trying to calm him down. Mitsuki was holding him while sitting on the couch, laid out in her lap, when Kacchan had approached, finally at eye sight with baby Izuku.
Kacchan had leaned on his mom’s arm to better peer down at him. “Don’t cry, ‘Zuku. Look!” and proceeded to ignite a few sparks in his open palm to show him.
Of course, their parents freaked out, berating Kacchan for putting his explosions close to a baby. But Kacchan had only rolled his eyes, pointing at baby Izuku, saying, “He’s not crying anymore. He liked it.”
To this day their parents get a good laugh over the fact they hadn’t believed toddler Kacchan about calming Izuku by essentially setting off tiny fireworks a few inches from his face. But Kacchan had been proven right when not ten minutes later, Izuku had gone back to his hysterical crying.
And tiny toddler Kacchan had lifted his hand as high as he could to pop off a round of tiny explosions. Izuku had calmed down almost instantly, round baby eyes transfixed on the bright light.
Decades later, Izuku still finds solace in Kacchan’s hands. Whether it was the use of his quirk or the way he’s held tenderly or when he’s coming apart from their pursuits. Izuku could find comfort in Kacchan quite easily.
But now that Kacchan needed comfort from him – had sought him out for it, even – Izuku felt lost in how he was supposed to help.
“Midoriya?”
“Waahh!” Izuku screeches, jumping to stand straighter. “To-Todoroki-kun. You scared me.” Izuku’s heart feels like it just got restarted with how hard it pumps against his rib cage.
“When did you get beat up?”
“Oh, uh,” Izuku touches his bruising cheek. He shouldn’t be surprised Shouto asked such a question, but he is taken back a bit at the immediacy. “Well…”
“Was that what happened between you and Dynamight last night?”
“What?” Izuku’s voice rises two octaves.
How… how did he know?
Okay, he’s going to have to tread carefully. It already isn’t good that someone knows Kacchan was here. What's important is that it stays that way. That he was here and gone and not currently sleeping away an emotional breakdown in Izuku’s bed.
“You and Bakugou.” Shouto emphasizes from across the kitchen island. “You both went off somewhere last night.”
“Wha– no.” Izuku tries to correct, shaking his hands at his two-toned haired friend. “That’s not what we… he wasn’t… I hadn’t… no.” He stands firmly, staring Shouto down, hoping for once he’ll just drop it.
“No?”
“No.” Izuku insists. “We didn’t go anywhere. And Kacchan and I did not fight last night.”
Great, now he’s basically trying to gaslight his friend. What the fuck are you doing?
Shouto looks at him with a cocked head, like he does when trying to come up with his conspiracy theories. Suddenly a flush of pink colors his nose and looks down at his feet. “Oh, I see. I didn’t mean to intrude on yours and Bakugou’s sexual exploits. I’m sorry.”
Izuku sputters in shock. For almost the first time, he doesn’t have words.
“Please pass along my apologies to Bakugou. I would myself, but I don’t have his number.”
“Todoroki.” Izuku looks side to side, but the room is still empty. “How – what did – why would you –”
Shouto glances up at him from under his red-and-white fringe, “You and Bakugou are dating in secret, correct?”
It’s too much.
Between the events of the training camp, Kacchan’s kidnapping, All Might's retirement, the licensing exam and the emotional upheaval from last night, this is what breaks him.
Tears start flowing easily, but Izuku does nothing to stop them. Shouto takes a step forward as if to help, then realizes there isn’t much he could do.
“You can’t tell anyone.” Izuku’s voice is soft, tired, but firm.
“I wasn’t going to.” The sincerity behind those words makes the tears come harder. “I figured you both were hiding it because, despite being childhood friends and only a couple years apart, it would affect Bakugou’s hero ranking too much for your relationship to come out when he’s a pro hero and you’re a student.”
Izuku nods, a broken, “Yeah,” escaping.
“You don’t look very happy.” As much as Todoroki’s bluntness can be a hindrance to a conversation, Izuku appreciates it so much right now.
“I’m not, not happy.” He shrugs, “Just trying to figure out how to approach something.”
“About getting hurt during sex?”
Laughter bubbles up and out of Izuku, and he shakes his head, “No, no.” He wipes his eyes with the heels of his palms. “You were right. We were fighting at Ground Beta.”
“Oh.” Shouto’s brows furrow in worry, “Are you both okay? You’re not breaking up, are you?”
“No!” Izuku reassures quickly, shaking his head sharply. The worry lines ease on Shouto’s forehead. “It wasn’t a fight about our relationship. Something else happened and Kacchan needed to let off some steam. But even afterwards, I –” Izuku runs a hand through his curls, “god, this feels so stupid to say.”
Todoroki shrugs a shoulder, “Say it anyway.”
Izuku eyes him, wondering just how much he should divulge. He already seems to know more than he was saying… Izuku decides to go for it.
“I don’t know how to comfort him.” It sounds even worse outloud. “Kacchan has always been a comfort to me.” With a large chunk of missing time in the middle. “Knows how to get me out of my head and back to myself. And now, when Kacchan really needs me, I find myself floundering on what to do.”
The tears continue to drip down his cheeks. He must look so pathetic to Shouto, crying because he can’t comfort his boyfriend who he’s known his entire life.
“Has he come to you for something like this before?”
“What?”
“Well, if you’ve known each other this long. And you’ve been dating long enough now, surely he’s sought solace from you before?”
“No! Nev–” Izuku pauses as he remembers one instance. When Kacchan had wanted to fight him when he found out about OFA. It hadn’t so much been about the power, but about his inferiority complex. Kacchan hadn’t sought out anyone else, just him.
Another memory comes slamming through after it, reminding him of the time when Kacchan was secretly worrying over how well he was going to perform as a pro, out in the real world. Or the time he’d had a huge fight with Kaminari and was worried he was going to lose his friend. And time after time, Izuku is bombarded with each moment Kacchan came to him seeking comfort. Looking to Izuku for support and Izuku providing it.
“I take it you just remembered a couple times?”
“Yeah.” Izuku whispers, clutching his hands tight to his chest, “But this time –”
“What did you do to help him?” Shouto interrupts, not letting Izuku begin what was sure to be a freestyle mumbling session.
“I…” Izuku pauses to think about it. Really think about it. About how he’d allowed Kacchan his space to express his feelings, in whatever way he needed. Spoke to him about the issue at hand, reassuring him when needed about what to do, or his plan to fix whatever was wrong. Izuku remembers, checking in with him, holding a meaningful conversation on what was upsetting him. Izuku held his hand. Held Kacchan to him bodily; giving him physical comfort until he got sick of it.
“Thank you, Shouto-kun.” Izuku uses Todoroki’s first name and those heterochromic eyes widen in shock.
“You’re welcome… Izuku.”
Izuku turns around and quickly grabs the coffee pot he’d forgotten about, to start making his and Kacchan’s usual.
“Izuku?” Shouto asks hesitantly.
“Yeah?” Izuku moves to the fridge to grab his creamer and milk. As much as Kacchan will deny it, he likes the sweet coffee.
“What did you thank me for?”
Izuku smiles, turning to face his friend, feeling like things are actually going to be okay for the first time in weeks. “I’m thanking you for being a good friend. For keeping me and Kacchan a secret. But mostly, I’m thanking you for helping me realize that I’m still Kacchan’s equal in every way that counts.”
“I did?”
Izuku nods, then turns to finish making the drinks.
“Maybe I should add relationship counselor to my resume.”
Izuku snorts good naturedly. “I think you need to handle more than just one person's issues before doing that.” He puts the items away he doesn’t need and picks up the two mugs. “But seriously, thank you, Shouto.”
“You’re welcome.” He nods. Izuku smiles and walks away back towards the elevators. He’s still in hearing distance as Shouto thinks aloud to himself, “Maybe I should try and get Shinso to speak to Chargebolt?”
Pressing his lips together to keep his laughter in check, Izuku shakes his head. Once he makes sure Kacchan is okay and they have time to settle back into themselves, he’ll help Shouto set Shinso up.
* * *
“Izuku, I have to go.”
Izuku continues to kiss Kacchan in the middle of his boyfriend's living room. He just couldn’t help himself. When Kacchan came out of his room, dressed in a lattice green single breasted vest, white button down and a burnt orange tie, well…
He’s only human.
Izuku nips at Kacchan’s jaw, breathing in deeply the delicious scent of his natural caramel and the vanilla, cedarwood cologne his mom had gifted him one year. It’s intoxicating. Izuku noses along Kacchan’s strong jawline, up to his ear, licking over the earring there and biting, loving the shudder that moves through Kacchan.
“Izuku.” His boyfriend groans, hands tight against his hips. Trying to shove him away and pull him closer at the same time.
Izuku’s fingers were clenched tight to Kacchan’s belt loops; now they find their way to the belt buckle and begin its undoing.
Kacchan huffs in his ear, hands quickly moving to pull Izuku’s away by the wrist. “I have to go.”
Izuku pulls away from Kacchan’s long pale neck to pout up at him, “You’re twenty minutes ahead of schedule.”
“And knowing you, it’ll be another hour of this if I don’t leave right now.” Kacchan insists, dropping Izuku’s wrists and stepping away to put space between them.
Izuku bites his lip, reaching forward to grab Kacchan’s tie, yanking him back into place. Red eyes blow wide in shock, then narrow when Izuku gets him eye to eye; holding strong to that burnt orange tie.
Their breaths mingling together. Noses brushing on every exhale. Izuku can see the flecks of detailed orange and gold in Kacchan’s red eyes. It sends heat pooling low in his gut.
It’s like Izuku loses all focus when Kacchan wears a tie. He can’t help himself. It’s only a piece of fabric around his boyfriend's neck, but it makes Izuku want to wrap his hand tight around it and lead him around calling him his ‘good boy’. At the same time, seeing Kacchan dressed up like this makes him want to get fucked so hard all he can think about is that stupid tie and Kacchan’s dick.
“Izuku.” Kacchan huffs, pupils pulsing, and he knows if he pushes just a little more, he can get Kacchan to stay for a little longer. After all, Izuku thinks, he's the one that included sex in his getting ready schedule. “Let go of my tie.”
Izuku smiles, and takes what he wants. Fisting Kacchan’s tie tightly, he yanks his boyfriend forward the last half inch into a searing kiss.
Kacchan’s moan fills their mouths. It has Izuku smirking into the kiss. He sucks Kacchan’s lower lip between his teeth, nibbling at it before biting down, pulling it gently. Kacchan moans again, warm hands coming up to cup the undersides of Iuzku’s jaw, fingers threading into the hair behind his ear.
They stand there for a moment longer, tongues pressing into mouths, lips smacking obscenely as the tension builds between them.
Kacchan pulls away to bury his face in Iuzku’s neck. And as much as Izuku loves the feeling of Kacchan leaving a mark there, teeth scraping and tongue licking his skin eagerly, finding each spot that makes heat pool low in Izuku’s gut and his cock grow harder, he needs something else right now.
Izuku steps back abruptly, keeping a tight hold on Kacchan’s tie to ensure he doesn’t follow him into his space. The look of confusion is clear on Kacchan’s face but becomes one of excitement when Izuku shoves him down to the floor.
Kacchan smirks up at him, deft hands going to his own belt, unbuckling it then unbuttoning his pants quickly, before laying back on the floor. While he shoves both pants and underwear down to his knees, Izuku removes his own underwear before mounting Kacchan’s body. Half hard cock pressing in all the right places against his ass. Fuck, it feels good. And Kacchan looks so gorgeous underneath him.
Izuku knows Kacchan is thinking the same thing – one, because he tells him this is his favorite way for Izuku to take what he wants and second, because Kacchan’s hands won’t stop touching him. Izuku’s wearing one of Kacchan’s oversized shirts, it drapes just enough to the side showcasing Iuzku’s collarbone. But the most enticing part of Kacchan’s oversized shirt on Izuku’s smaller frame is the fact it’s long enough to hide his leaking cock and where they’re both pressed together – only allowing Kacchan a look when Izuku rises up on his knees. The shirt pools again on Kacchan’s stomach as soon as Izuku sits back down on his lap, being sure to arch his back enough to allow his boyfriends’ cock to spread his ass cheeks on the way down.
Both of their heated moans fill the apartment.
“Shit, Izuku.”
Izuku smirks down at his boyfriend. He reaches out his hands, placing them on Kacchan’s chest, avoiding the tie for now, feeling over the firm muscle. Kacchan’s heartbeat pounds wildly under his palm.
Lifting up on his knees again, Kacchan’s eyes lock onto where their bodies meet. Izuku can feel Kacchan’s length thickening as he sits up fully. Then drops back down roughly, groaning when the head catches at his hole.
“Kacchan.” Izuku hisses and does it again. And again and again – loving the feel of Kacchan at his entrance. He’s still open and slick from earlier when Kacchan had pressed them both into the mattress; loving him deeply and thoroughly. On the next descending bounce, Kacchan stops Izuku.
“Kacchan.” He whines, fingers curling even tighter into the green vest. His boyfriend's fingers palm at Izuku’s ass, pulling them open. Izuku wiggles.
“Stop.” Kacchan commands, digging in a bruising grip.
Izuku shakes his head. “Nope. Tonight I’m doing what I want and Kacchan can take it.” Izuku reaches to wrap the burnt orange tie around his left hand, yanking upwards, his boyfriend's body moving with it, “Okay?”
The visible way Kacchan’s throat moves as he gulps makes Izuku tingle.
“Shit, Izuku, what do you do to me?” Voice gruff against the strain.
“Everything.” Izuku emphasizes. Reaching behind him with his other hand, still keeping that tie pulled tight, he positions Kacchan’s cock better. When he lowers himself down, sheathing that hot, thick length inside him, both sigh in pleasure. “Kacchan, you feel so good.”
Though it had only been a couple hours since Kacchan had been in him, Izuku had missed being filled.
Izuku lifts himself once more, thighs flexing, till the tip is left in his aching hole. Green eyes catch on Kacchan’s face, arranged in pleasure, as red eyes fixate on the hem of his shirt resting mid-thigh. Izuku is sure Kacchan is able to see where his hole clings to the last inch of Kacchan’s cock.
Squeezing tight, Izuku lets gravity work and bottoms out roughly.
“Ah, fuck!” Kacchan yells, head thrown back against the rug. But with the way Izuku has his tie pulled up tight, his chest is pushed up and the pale length of his long neck rounds out.
It’s filthy.
It’s erotic.
It satisfies the sexual itch Izuku was feeling.
“Beautiful Kacchan. Gorgeous Kacchan.” Izuku praises and does it again, just to watch the way the muscles in Kacchan’s neck ripple.
The friction though, quickly turns to the wrong side of unbearable.
“Kacchan?” Izuku groans, squeezing around his dick, unwinding his hand on the tie to give it some slack.
“Yeah, ‘Zuku?” He breathes, red eyes finally able to lock back onto Izuku’s green. Izuku bites his lip unconsciously, hole tightening again around that wonderful cock filling him deep.
“Grab the couch lube.”
Kacchan’s pupils blow even wider, swallowing most of the red. He breathes in a sharp breath through his nose, then reaches blindly for the couch behind him.
Izuku bites his lip even harder, groaning as the movement shifts the length inside him further. Kacchan’s legs twitch below him, abs flexing and gorgeous barrel thick arms stretch and stretch and stretch, fingers wide as they barely reach the cushions.
Izuku could have grabbed the lube himself with blackwhip, but then he wouldn’t be afforded the vision beneath him.
Kacchan grunts, smacking and stretching and moving their conjoined bodies another inch with a shove of his heels. Izuku whines, catching himself on Kacchan’s chest and uses the tie to keep himself upright.
“Got it.” Kacchan yanks the bottle from where it’d gotten lodged between the cushion and arm.
“Good Kacchan.” Izuku praises, pleased at the twitch inside him.
Kacchan pops the lube and pours some onto Izuku’s waiting hand, the one not currently refusing to let go of the tie. Izuku raises himself fully off Kacchan’s dick. Both hiss, one of Kacchan’s hands lifts the shirt high enough to avoid getting it covered in lube.
Izuku works quickly, getting his hole wet and then Kacchan’s dick. He wipes the excess off on his own cock before sinking back down on Kachcan’s hot length.
“Oh god!” Izuku gasps, Kacchan echoing his cry. The slide is so good now. So slick, so easy. It’s wonderful.
“Shit, Izuku. Look at you. Love you like this, fuck.” Kacchan’s hips jerk up to press into Izuku even though they’re already as close as possible. Izuku huffs open mouthed, lifting up and dropping his full weight once more before starting a slow rhythmic ride on the thick cock under him. Kacchan licks his lips, both hands finding a place to hold on Izuku’s thighs as he takes what he wants.
Izuku adjusts his position enough so he can get the head of Kacchan’s cock to pass over his prostate. “Ooooh, fuck, Kacchan– !”
“Keep going. Come on, Bunny. Keep fucking yourself on my cock. Use me.” Kacchan huffs and Izuku looks back down to see those red eyes staring up at him in awe. Tie still pulled tight in Izuku’s hand, making his neck and chest arched in the most delicious way. God, even behind clothes, Kacchan has the best tits. One of the benefits of being a pro-hero.
Izuku grabs his boyfriend’s chest with his right hand again, palming it suggestively. Quickening his pace, Izuku rides with increased vigor, squeezing Kacchan’s cock rhythmically on the way up.
“Kacchan’s cock feels so good in me.”
“Fuckin’ hell, Bunny.”
“Mmmm,” Izuku moans and he’s barely given any thought to his own dick with how good Kacchan feels spreading him open, reaching so far deep he feels stuffed. But there’s a stirring in him, a sign he’s about to cum. Typically he’d just cum across Kacchan’s gorgeous tits, but now he doesn’t want him to have to change for the benefit he’s attending tonight.
Izuku winds the tie back one more time, pulling hard, arching his back. “Kacchan please, please, I’m gonna… I’m gonna…”
Kacchan knows exactly what he’s trying to say. Instead of helping Izuku slow down like he expected, he pops Izuku up with his hips, gets his heels under him and thrusts up into Izuku on each pass down. Thrusting so deep Izuku feels like Kacchan’s cock is in his throat.
“Fuck!” His eyes squeeze shut, “Kacchan!”
“Keep going, I got you.” Kacchan encourages.
“But –” Izuku cries, peeling his eyes half open, staring at his boyfriend in worry, “How – ahh!” He cries out at a particularly hard thrust.
“You won’t mess up my suit, Bunny. Keep bouncing.”
Oh shit. Izuku is done for. “Ka-Kachaaa!” He shouts, eyes closing tight as the first wave of his orgasm crashes over him, riding as hard as he can with Kacchan still bucking up into him. “O-o-oooh!” He whines, yanking hard on the tie when Kacchan’s dick gives a particularly brutal pass over his prostate. A bit more cum leaking out of his tired cock. Kacchan doesn’t give him any relief, working his overstimulated hole to the point of crying.
“Yeah, Izuku. Fuck, look at you. Gorgeous baby and just for you. You did so good. So fucking good!”
Eyes opening just barely, Izuku gets to watch Kacchan’s face morph into one of euphoria as he cums, filling Izuku.
Izuku’s cock gives a small twinge, rubbing against soft fabric. Soft? Izuku releases the orange tie, letting it fall between their bodies. Kacchan’s body relaxes under him. In doing so he realizes that Kacchan had caught his cum in Izuku’s boxer briefs he’d yanked off earlier.
Kacchan relaxes into the floor even more once he’s spent, hands massaging up and down Izuku’s thighs, pushing at the T-shirt, in little circles.
Just what Izuku needed. He bites at his lip, then leans down, careful of the way the boxer briefs are keeping everything from dirtying up his gorgeous boyfriend, to kiss Kacchan deeply on the lips.
It’s a little messy, breaths out of sync and mouths a bit slippery with saliva. But it's oh so good. Making Izuku’s toes curl in want of round two. Especially with Kacchan’s softened cock still in him, practically twitching.
“What time is it?” Kacchan asks, face towards the ceiling.
Izuku grabs Kacchan’s wrist to look at his watch and chuckles, “You’re definitely going to be late.”
Kacchan blows out a breath, lips twitching into a languid smile and says, “Worth it.”
* * *
“I wonder who they got among the Pro Heroes to come in today?” Uraraka questions beside Izuku as they walk to the training fields. Izuku turns to look at Shinso along with the rest of their small group.
He holds up both hands to ward them off, “Dad hasn’t said anything to me. Not even Pops knows.”
“Sero told me it's mostly random.” Shouto says from Shinso’s other side.
Izuku tries to keep his grin from splitting his face at the casual way Shouto mentions Sero’s name versus his hero name. When Izuku had invited Shouto to hang out with Kacchan’s friends during winter break while they were still interning at Endeavor’s Agency, he never thought those two would have clicked as well as they had.
Not like he had known with Kaminari and Shinso. His purple-haired friend doesn’t bring it up, but Izuku has heard Kaminari gush time and again over Shinso. He’s even squealed in Izuku’s ears over cute text messages between the two.
“Maybe it’s Chargebolt.” Izuku smirks at the way Shinso tightens up at his crush’s name. His shoulders drop just as quickly, face reorienting itself into one of nonchalance, trying a bit too hard to not seem affected by just Kaminari’s hero name.
“No. He’s with Edgeshot in Canada right now helping on a case.”
Uraraka waggles her brows, “Uh-huh, sure. Unless it’s a ploy to make you think it’s not him.”
Shinso narrows his eyes at her as they make it onto the grounds, heading for the platform where they can watch their classmates. “No.”
Izuku laughs along with the rest of them, leading them over towards a railing at the front. Most of the class is already there, dressed in their hero costumes ready for training. All they were waiting on were their classmates from 1B.
“Maybe it’ll be the Pussycat’s again.” Shouto theorizes.
“I wouldn’t mind hearing from Manuel. He’s taught me some great things while I’ve been interning with him.” Iida adds.
“I don’t care, I'm just so excited to be back at it with you guys!” Hagakure says where she stands next to Ojiro and Sato. Though she’s completely invisible besides her shoes and gloves, Izuku knows she’s currently wearing a new suit designed from the DNA of her hair, to help work with her quirk so she didn’t have to be naked all the time.
Izuku opens his mouth to ask how the support course made it, when Monoma’s loud voice draws the attention of the entire class.
“Look who we have here. Relaxed and full of yourselves, as always. Obviously you underestimate us.”
Izuku rolls his eyes. Though Monoma is powerful, that ego of his rubs Izuku the wrong way. Can’t he just try and work with the rest of them instead of creating an imaginary rivalry?
“We’ve been looking forward to training with our fellow classmates!” Iida steps forward to wave, smiling brightly.
“Ha!” Monoma laughs, and Izuku can finally see him and the rest of class 1B as they make their way to the platform. “I’m not sure why. There’s no way you’d stand a chance against us in this exercise.” Monoma stops at the edge of the top of the stairs, leaning back to yell, “Come on class A! Let’s see who’s best, once and for all!”
Izuku sighs heavily, sharing a look with his friends as Monomoa continues to mock the fake rivalry between their classes. Going on and on about how 1B is finally going to take over the spotlight.
With everything going on, Izuku thinks that if it matters so much, then let them have it.
“That’s enough.” Aizawa’s annoyed tone pierces the air and Izuku watches with a bit of humor how his Sensei wraps Monoma up in his scarf to get him to quit. Finally. “Everyone gather ‘round.”
Both classes move to stand before their Senseis, Vlad King standing next to Aizawa.
“Today, you will be participating in joint training against your other class members. Two pro heroes will be joining to watch over your work and give criticism where needed. You will respect what they have to say. Please avoid embarrassing yourselves as much as possible.” Aizawa says, then picks up a box from the ground that says 1a.
“However,” Vlad King continues on, “Because there is one more person in class 1A than class 1B, we will pick someone from class 1A at random and then decide from another random choice if this person will compete for 1A or 1B. To make it fair.”
“I was against this idea, but Vlad insisted.” Aizawa comments, annoyed.
“What!?! Sensei, we don’t need help from class A!” Monoma shouts, despite still being tied up in Aizawa’s scarf. Aizawa tightens it further as Vlad King tells Monoma to keep quiet.
Aizawa says, “I will select the student at random.” Izuku watches their Sensei reach in and pull out a piece of paper. He sets down the box to read the name, “Hitoshi Shinso.” Izuku’s eyes widen and turns to look at his friend with the rest of their class. Aizawa picks up another box to rifle through it, pulling another piece of paper out, “1B.”
Monoma starts cheering in the background for some reason Izuku can’t fathom. Shinso shrugs and says,
“Sure. Fine.”
“Now that that’s settled,” Vlad King puts a hand on his hip, “Time for combat training!”
“What, no introduction?” A voice says from behind them. A voice Izuku is intimately familiar with. A voice that sends shivers down his spine and tingles to his fingers, heart pounding away in his chest. A voice that makes him squeal in excitement as he turns around to see none other than Kacchan dressed in his winter hero uniform at the top of the stairs. Jiro stands next to him, spinning one of her earphone jacks in a circle.
No way!
“Students, meet the Pro Heroes who will be monitoring your progress today, Dynamight and Earphone Jack.”
“Oh my god!” Is the general consensus shouted as everyone rushes over to crowd the two pros. Izuku, along with Shinso, Todoroki and Tokoyami are the only ones to stay planted in their spots.
Kacchan’s cocky grin quickly falls to one of annoyance, hating to be crowded. “Back the fuck up, extras!”
The sudden shout halts Izuku’s classmates. He laughs a bit too loudly at their faces, having to cover his mouth to not seem like he was being rude. Kacchan glances up from the multiple people, red eyes meeting Izuku’s from underneath his black mask and smudge eyeliner. He smirks.
Fuck. There goes Izuku’s heart.
How can one look from that man turn his brain into nothing but mush and the thought ‘Kacchan Kacchan Kacchan Kacchan Kacchan’?
And then the object of all his desires steps through the crowd of hero students making his way towards Izuku.
Izuku’s eyes roam across Kacchan’s body, taking him all in. Though Izuku loves the summer costume, the winter one makes a delightful shiver roll down his spine. The way the long sleeves hug tight to Kacchan’s bulging arms. How Kacchan’s pecs are emphasized where the material stretches across his chest. It makes Izuku drool and want to run his fingers over the X in the middle and place his mouth over the fabric. If they weren’t in public, Izuku would do just that. And don’t get him started on the way Kacchan struts forward in his heavy boots – he’d let Kacchan step on him and he’d say ‘thank you’.
Is it getting hotter out here?
“No.” Shinso’s voice makes him jump.
Izuku turns to look at his friend with wide eyes, hand at his chest. Shinso’s upturned mouth tells him all he needs to know. He was most definitely muttering aloud.
“Here’s some ice, Deku.” Shouto offers his right hand out to him with some ice in his palm. Shinso snickers into his hand.
“Shouto!” Izuku says indignantly. He can’t believe they’d turn on him like this. Well, that’s not true, he can – he’s just really embarrassed that he basically talked about Kacchan aloud like he’s a piece of meat. That was typically only something between his own brain and Kacchan.
He should be relieved as his boyfriend stops in front of them, but all he feels are his cheeks getting redder and body temperature increasing. Maybe he should take Shouto’s offered ice.
“Sup, Nerd.” Kacchan grins.
“Hi, Kacchan.” He waves back awkwardly. What the fuck, why does he feel like he’s sixteen all over again just realizing how in love he is with Kacchan again? Stop it! He’s seen you naked. You’ve seen him naked! You’ve been dating almost two years now, get it together!
Kacchan snorts and it makes Izuku flush even more. He grabs the ice from Shouto and puts it immediately behind his neck. “How come you didn’t tell me you and Jirou-san were going to be the Pros working with us today?”
Kacchan folds his arms across his chest – able to do so with the lack of gauntlets occupying his forearms. Izuku’s eyes can’t help going to where his biceps bulge and his pecs are pushed together wonderfully. Izuku wants to bury his face there and –
Get a hold of yourself!
Kacchan’s smirk grows even bigger. Izuku narrows his eyes, his boyfriend knows exactly what he’s doing to him. Well, two can play at that game. He can’t do much in his current position to draw Kacchan’s eyes to his ass, so instead he cocks a hip and taps his steel covered toes on the ground, drawing Kacchan’s attention lower to Izuku’s thighs. Izuku internally smirks when Kacchan’s eyes flit down to take in Izuku’s thighs. They don’t stay long, but long enough Izuku feels better about his own ogling.
“Wanted to surprise you.”
“I’m definitely surprised.”
“Why do you both sound like robots?” Shouto interrupts and it’s like a bubble pops.
“Uh…”
“Shut the fuck up, Icy-Hot,” Kacchan huffs.
“Alright!” Aizawa calls out, and Izuku breathes a sigh of relief. “Time to pick teams.”
Everyone moves back to their previous position around their Senseis as the teams are chosen. Izuku notices Jirou has saddled up beside Momo instead of coming to stand next to Kacchan, who stands at Izuku’s back. He hopes he’s taking in the view of his ass, because he’s not standing like this for any other reason than for his boyfriend to get in a good look.
Aizawa calls out four people per team from each class, creating six teams in total to go head to head. “The last team for 1A is: Midoriya, Uraraka, Asui and Sato.” Izuku turns to give a smile to each of his teammates.
“And the last team to fight during round three for 1B are: Yanagi, Shoda, Monoma, Kodai and Shinso.”
Monoma is loud in his excitement, boasting quickly how he’s going to beat 1A’s ass easily.
Kacchan scoffs lowly behind him, and then Izuku can feel his breath pass over his ear. Another shiver runs down Izuku’s spine. His eyes close and his breath stutters. “Beat that fucker into the ground, will ya Deku?”
Izuku can only nod once sharply.
Aizawa calls their attention again, “Get ready, the first team will start in 10 minutes. Dynamight, Earphone Jack, over here.”
“I’ll be watching, Deku.” Kacchan’s lips brush the shell of his ear before his presence disappears completely from his back.
Thank god. Usually he wouldn’t care; would roll around in Kacchan’s presence. But right now, especially while at school, he needs to keep a level head. Izuku takes one last chance to watch Kacchan walk away. Then, he gathers himself and collects his team together to start planning in a spot away from everyone else on the platform.
Izuku’s team is part of the third round. They get to watch the other two teams go and then listen to the comments Kacchan and Jirou give when they’re done.
Izuku has seen Kacchan work more times than he can count now. But it doesn’t get old. And this time, with him helping teach the rising class of new heroes, it warms Izuku’s heart to see his boyfriend putting as much care and concentration into Izuku’s classmates performances as he would his own.
Though his fellow classmates seem to have struggled a bit with Kachcan’s no-nonsense attitude and uncaring way of providing feedback, they take what he says seriously. Jirou is right there with him, sometimes providing a translation for Kacchan’s words if Aizawa hasn’t and then her own Pro advice. They’re a good team.
But then it’s Izuku’s team's turn.
Kacchan catches his eye as they leave for the area they’ll be fighting in – a new location, since Shouto’s fire destroyed the cameras of the second training field. There’s resolve behind those red eyes and pride. Izuku’s heart swells. He gives Kacchan a sharp nod in his direction, holding up the number one, then turns to follow his excited teammates, not looking to see if Kacchan held it up in response.
He knows if he did, the strong urge to kiss his boyfriend would be too much.
The four of them – Izuku, Uraraka, Tsu and Sato – had already made a plan before going to the starting point. So when the buzz came through calling for the fight to begin, they each were able to get into position quickly. Izuku’s ready as the bait.
Izuku’s prepared to put his all into this fight. Not that he normally wouldn’t, but Kacchan is watching. He can admit to himself he wants Kacchan to be impressed with how far he’s come, especially in leading a team.
He moves swiftly amongst the pipes, hoping that because Shinso is on the other side, 1b will be focused on trying to take Izuku out first. He just needs to wait for them to start revealing themselves.
“Eeek!” A screech similar to Uraraka’s sounds, making Izuku stop and take stock of his surroundings. Looking for Shinso he actually finds Monoma standing a few yards away.
He flares off a blast with air force, but Monoma dodges it.
“Oh, you spotted me quickly, I see.” Monoma says with a flashy grin. “We’d be fools to not take you seriously. Gotta be on guard with someone as strong and agile as yourself. Though,” He remarks and Izuku can see the tell-tale signs that Monoma is going to try and get him riled up. Get him to drop his guard by running his mouth. “With the way Dynamight was going on about the way to take down an opponent, it would seem that the strength of someone comes from the people who are supporting him.”
Yeah, just what he thought. Trying to get a rise out of him.
Oh, shit—!
Izuku has to move quickly when a small piece of metal flares at him from the side. He shifts using OFA to catapult himself up, twisting his body into a spin he learned from Kacchan but honed through Mina, to kick the barrel away and down to the ground. That was close.
Izuku is closer now to Monoma and he readies his hand for another airforce strike, cupping his wrist. Monoma keeps talking though.
“So why not crush your three teammates first? Thanks for being so flashy and telling us where you were. Sounds like my teammates have found the rest of class A’s hopeless combatants already.”
Izuku doesn’t speak. He knows this tactic well. It may be Monoma and his flashiness saying the words, but the technique is all Shinso. And he can’t tell if Monoma has Shinso’s quirk or if Shinso is in the area hidden. But given the scream he heard was close, Izuku is positive that it’s either of those two options.
He tries to take in his surroundings while Monoma continues to blather on. “But really what’s the point if you don’t race back to your little friends?”
Izuku rolls his eyes, having enough and fires off a blast of air in Monoma’s direction before leaving his current perch to pursue him. Monoma jumps away, using the close pipes for cover, calling out,
“What, you don’t have any regard for your friends’ potential? How cold! Would you do the same if it was your boyfriend?!”
Izuku freezes, having to use Blackwhip to keep himself steady on the pipe he lands on.
What did he say?
“You know, I wouldn’t blame you for climbing the hero ladder. But to start with Dynamight seems like a disservice to yourself.”
What the fuck?! Izuku feels Blackwhip pulse beneath his skin. He lets it out, reaching for Monoma where he stands some yards above him on another pipe. Monoma dodges quickly. Izuku gives pursuit. If he can catch him with Blackwhip and throw him in the training jail, maybe then it’ll teach the loud mouth blonde to watch his tongue.
“I mean, seriously,” He continues as Izuku bounds after him. “I wouldn’t want my boyfriend to weigh me down like yours. Given the fact it was Bakugou Katsuki who was responsible for the downfall of the Symbol of Peace!”
It’s like one second Izuku has full control of his body, and the next he’s taken a back seat to the power thrumming through him.
Blackwhip bursts out of him in droves, bigger and bigger than it’s ever been before. Izuku feels weightless, like he’s flying and his head begins to pound.
“Hah?!” He yells, unsure what to do with this sensory overload. It hurts. Fuck it hurts. His head feels like it’s splitting. He grunts, holding back a scream. He can’t control this. What the hell is happening?! How can he get it to stop?! Stop!
And then it all goes quiet. Inky black, then starbursts of color - the vestige world.
Banjo, Nana and Hikage appear before him, talking about his heart and how to control it.
–
The training exercise is over.
Izuku feels numb. Barely comprehending that everyone knows. And now Kacchan’s chances to be number one have lowered. What are they gonna do? They’re gonna have to break up, aren't they? He knew it was too good to be true. People just won’t understand that they’re together because they love each other, not because Izuku wants special treatment on his path to become a hero.
“Midoriya, stop.” Something shakes his shoulders and Izuku sees Shinso before him. Hands press down tight to his upper body, trying to get Izuku out of his own head.
“But –” The pain builds in his chest.
“What happened?!” Uraraka asks, coming up to them from where she’d opened the door to the small jail the 1B teams had been in. Izuku doesn’t know if he has the heart to say. “Why did your powers go haywire like that? Are you okay?”
Thankfully he doesn’t have to say anything, trying too hard to keep the tears at bay. Shinso gives her and their other teammates who join them a bullet point summary to what Monoma said and the way Izuku’s powers went crazy.
“Dude! That’s horrible! How could Monoma say those things?!” Sato looks back over his shoulder to glare at the blonde on the other team where him and the rest of 1b stand in a semi circle. Izuku guesses they’re talking about him with the way their gazes keep flicking his way.
“Ribbit,” Tsu agrees with Sato, “He’s completely wrong. Dynamights a great hero and you wouldn’t do that – that’s not who you are, Deku.”
“Exactly.” Uraraka nods firmly, then takes Izuku’s hand in her own, squeezing it tightly. “It’s going to be okay, Deku. Don’t listen to him. He’s wrong.”
Izuku sniffles, rubbing at his eyes with the back of his arm. The pain in his chest has lessened with their kind words. “Thanks guys.”
“Come on,” Sato says, “Let’s head back.” They turn to leave, following behind the 1B students who are farther away than Izuku thought they would have been, already turning a building corner on their way back to the platform.
But then shouting erupts from ahead, followed by what Izuku recognizes as Kacchan’s pissed off tone and popping explosions.
“Shit.” Izuku curses then runs. The rest of his friends follow. Izuku finds Kacchan glaring Monoma down, hands at his sides, sparking against his gloves, spitting venom at the younger man. Monoma takes it well, giving Kacchan an unimpressed look.
“You think you know shit, you fucking copy bastard? See how far that gets you in the real fucking world.” He growls.
Aizawa’s capture scarf pops out of nowhere, wrapping tight around Kacchan’s upper torso to pull him back.
“Kacchan!” Izuku calls, coming to a stop in front of everyone. The pounding feet behind him come to a slow stop.
His boyfriend whips around to face Izuku; sneer relaxing into a look of relief. Aizawa’s scarf drops and Kacchan stomps over to Izuku. He watches him approach, feet glued to his spot, waiting for Kacchan to do or say whatever he’s going to. He can’t tell at this point. Hands reach up and Izuku, still on the slight high of adrenaline from their exercise, flinches thinking he’s going to get hit. Instead, gloved hands come to rest, achingly tender, on the sides of Iuzku’s neck. More caring than Izuku’s ever seen Kacchan when around other people who aren’t their friends.
“Shit, Deku, are you okay?”
Izuku nods immediately. The care in Kacchn’s voice pulls tears to his eyes again. “Yeah, Kacchan. I’m okay.” Kacchan’s gaze locks onto his own, staring for a couple seconds, looking for something Izuku’s not sure of, but must find it none-the-less when he releases Izuku to turn around and yell at Aizawa.
“That fucker better get some kind of punishment. That shit is not okay.”
“Oh buzz off,” Monoma waves a hand, rolling his eyes. “It was just to get him riled up. Worse will be said by civilians. which you should know, Great Explosion Murder God Dynamight.”
The way he says it, Izuku knows he means it as an insult. So does Kacchan. Izuku wraps Kacchan’s arm with his own hand, adding a line of Blackwhip as support.
“Monoma, go back to the platform.” Aizawa demands. “That includes the rest of you.” His eyes flash. “Midnight and Vlad are waiting along with Earphone Jack to go over your performances.”
“Yes, Sensei.” They all bow their heads.
When he tries to step away, releasing his quirk and grip on Kacchan, his boyfriend shifts to hold Izuku back this time.
“Uh, Kacchan?” Izuku looks up at him questioningly.
He holds on tighter. “We’re waiting for All Might.”
Izuku’s friends leave with supportive smiles thrown his way, plus a thumbs up or two. He’s actually quite happy to realize none of them turned their noses up at the fact he and Kacchan were dating. Though honestly, he’d never actually been worried they would. He knew they would understand. But would the public? Would the commission? Izuku wanted to give Kacchan every opportunity to make it to that number one spot – he never wanted to stand in his way.
“Young Midoriya!” All Might calls, working his way around the other students who disappear from sight, to runs towards Izuku. “Young Midoriya, are you alright?”
Izuku nods, “Yeah. I’m alright, All Might.”
“Oh, thank goodness.” He sighs.
Aizawa steps forward then, and Izuku notices All Might bow out of the way a bit. “Now that we’ve established Midoriya is fine. Would anyone like to enlighten me on what happened out there?”
Izuku looks up at All Might, then over to Kacchan. But his boyfriend is staring intently at Izuku’s mentor, so he looks back to him to see All Might hasn’t looked away. Something rises on All Might’s face, a twitch of his lips, a twinkle of his eye and Izuku understands. Kacchan squeezes his hand.
“Sensei,” Izuku looks at Aizawa who regards him carefully, “We shouldn’t talk about it here. But tomorrow,” Izuku glances at All Might and he nods, “I can explain what happened in All Might’s office.”
Aizawa regards the three of them a bit longer, then sighs, rubbing his forehead. “Fine.” Then he looks between him and Kacchan. They hold their ground under his intense stare, but it takes effort. “Normally, I wouldn’t care what goes on in my students' personal lives. But,” He runs a hand through his hair, “given your previous history here and the way it came out, I’m giving you until the end of the day to figure yourselves out.” Izuku feels relief fill his chest. Thank god he and Kacchan could talk about this.
The one thing that Aizawa hid well behind his hard exterior was that he was a big softy. Izuku’s known him now for four and a half years, and though he knows this about his Sensei, it still surprises him each time Aizawa shows off his sensitive side.
“And Bakugou?”
“Yeah?”
Aizawa glares Kacchan down with a look that says he means business. “Do not let me catch you around the dorms at any point tomorrow morning.”
"Tch.” Kacchan scoffs, turning his chin into his shoulder, “Can’t tell me what to do.”
Thankfully, Aizawa already knows that means Kacchan’s going to listen to him, so he doesn’t comment. “Midoriya?”
Izuku stands at attention quickly, swallowing thickly, “Yes, Sensei?”
“You’ll be given a full extensive review on your performance tomorrow. Nezu will be pitching in given the circumstances today.”
Izuku’s eyes widen. Oh damn. “I – yes sir.”
Aizawa gives them all a nod, then turns around walking away.
That leaves the three of them.
All Might looks at Izuku with a raised brow. He can do nothing but explain quickly what happened while he was fighting Monoma. Kacchan stands next to him the entire time, hand clasped tightly in his own.
“It sounds like we’re going to have to increase your training now to include Float and Danger Sense.” All Might says once Izuku’s done. “Does your head still hurt?”
Izuku nods a little, “But not like when Danger Sense was happening. Just a leftover headache.”
Kacchan’s palm slips from Izuku’s. He glances at him in confusion, only to see Kacchan peel off his gloves before placing his bare hand on the back of Izuku’s neck.
Oh god, the heat feels so good. “Mhmm, thank you, Kacchan.” Those fingers tighten a bit in acknowledgement before releasing to cup the back of Izuku’s neck gently; allowing his palms to heat lowly without burning skin.
“We can start training those quirks better now that they’ve both appeared.” All Might nods. Izuku smiles up at his mentor, he can already see training plans forming behind those blue eyes.
“Of course, All Might.” All Might’s lips twitch up into a slight smirk, “And maybe a bit more control for blackwhip, hmm?”
“All Might, please.” Izuku feels his cheeks flush. He hides behind his hands.
“I’ll leave you alone for now.” All Might chuckles from the belly, “But boys?” Izuku peaks through his fingers to look at his mentor, “Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise, but you’re a good pair. And whatever you decide to do,” He pauses in the way he normally does when he’s trying to be inspirational, “Just know it’ll all turn out okay. Even while pursuing that number one spot.” He winks at them, then turns on his heel.
Now it’s just him and Kacchan.
Izuku waits till All Might leaves their line of sight. And then a little afterwards.
Alone again with Kacchan, he feels that panic rise up in his chest, tears easily springing to his eyes. “I’m sorry.”
Kacchan scoffs, “What the fuck are you sorry for? That copy bitch should be the one apologizing.”
“Because,” Izuku sniffles trying to hold the tears back, “If it wasn’t for Monoma getting at me, I could have just brushed the whole thing off – ”
“Izuku,” Kacchan moves to stand in front of him now, hand still holding onto his neck providing that comforting heat. It’s so gentle, Izuku wants to cry even more now.
“ – and everything would be fine! And we wouldn’t have to worry about people thinking we're bad just because,” and here comes the waterworks, “You’re already a Pro and I’m still in school.”
Izuku doesn’t know when Kacchan pulled off his other glove, but those warm, soft fingers come up to wipe the tears from Izuku’s cheeks.
“And… and… and now it might hurt your chances of becoming number one.” He sobs.
“What?” Kacchan says so harshly, Izuku blinks back into the present instead of the whirlwind of his mind.
Izuku tries to swallow but the word still comes out garbled around his crying, “What, what?”
Kachcan’s eyes flash, but he keeps a hold of Izuku’s neck and wipes at his cheeks, despite it being futile. “Have you been fucking worried over my ranking this entire fucking time?”
“Well…” Izuku is so confused. “Yeah? That’s… I thought that’s why we were keeping it a secret.”
Kacchan groans, hand moving to cup Izuku’s cheek tightly, forehead dropping to rub against his own. “No, you fucking idiot.” Izuku starts going cross-eyed from how close those red eyes are to his. What does he mean, no?
“No?”
“No.” Kacchan sighs, “I was worried about the way it would affect you becoming the number one here, you shitty nerd.”
Hold up. The tear flow slows down exceptionally. “What?!” Izuku yanks his head back from Kacchan’s. What was he saying?
Kacchan doesn't let go of Izuku’s neck so he doesn’t go far. Those red, red eyes, piercing sharp and intelligent look down at Izuku like he’s truly stupid. “What I fucking said.”
“But… but that would mean…”
“That we both agreed to keep our relationship a secret, thinking we were doing it for the other.”
When Kacchan says it, it really does sound stupid.
“Wait,” Izuku shakes his head, wiping the last bites of salted water from his cheeks. “Wait, wait, wait, you don’t care what this will do to your hero ranking?”
Kacchan shakes his head. “No.” It’s such a simple answer Izuku struggles wrapping his brain around it. “No, I can work my way up the ladder. And if I don’t get number one because people can’t deal with shit like love, then I don’t want to be their number one.”
Izuku’s breath stutters in his chest. It feels like Kacchan’s confessing to him all over again. But that still doesn’t explain why Kacchan thought Izuku cared about his ranking.
“Why did you think I cared?”
“Because you’ve always pushed to be the best.” Kacchan yanks Izuku back into him, pressing his forehead back into Izuku’s, like he can’t not be touching him while they lay everything out on the table. “I wasn’t going to stand in the way if I could help it. Not again. You’re going to be the next Symbol of Peace, Izuku. I wasn’t going to be the reason people would look down on you before you even graduated.”
“But, Kacchan…” Izuku can’t believe how stupid they had been. “Kacchan, I don’t care about what I’m ranked as.”
“What?”
“I don’t care!” Izuku practically shouts in their faces, “I just want to be a hero. I just want to help people, whatever my rank. Do I want to be the best? Yes. That’s easy. But if that means I get ranked at number 328? Well then, that’s fine, as long as I’m meeting my own goals for what it means to be a hero.”
Kacchan’s breathing is heavy. Stare becoming so intense, Izuku begins to squirm. The fingers on the back of his neck grip just that much tighter to hold Izuku still.
“You’re going to become number one.”
Izuku is confused again. “What?”
“You’re going to become number one. And I’m going to become number one. Together. Like we’ve always planned.”
Heat fills Izuku’s chest, spreading out from his heart, down to his fingers and toes.
“Damn what anyone says. The public, the commission. Fuck, even stupid fellow heroes who don’t get it.” Kacchan smiles wide, his canines sharp and pointed, making him look lethal.
Izuku thinks he’s never looked more beautiful.
“Okay.” Izuku nods, forehead rubbing oddly against Kacchan’s. “Okay, Kacchan. We’ll do it. Together.”
Izuku presses up on his toes just enough to press his lips firmly to Kacchan’s. His own gloved hands wrap around Kacchan’s shoulders, hanging on as they kiss slowly. The feeling of being loved truly and wonderfully clings to his bones. Kacchan holds him like he’s everything he’s ever wanted. Izuku tightens his grip on Kacchan to let him know he’d never let him go, ever. Both safe in each other's arms, mouths sliding together, tongues tangled passionately.
Izuku’s heart begins to settle. Sliding one hand down to rest against Kacchan’s chest, Izuku can feel that wonderful heart beating through the thick layer of his hero costume. It makes Izuku’s eyes flutter and a moan slips out. Kacchan licks it into his own mouth immediately.
Warmth floods him and it’s almost too much. Is too much for the space they currently occupy.
Izuku pulls his head back, barely an inch, noses still pressed together, breaths mingling. Kacchan’s heart flutters beneath his fingers.
“How does The Wonder Duo sound?” Izuku breathes.
Kacchan chuckles. “Sounds like we’re going to kick some ass.” Izuku laughs too, despite his headache.
He knows this though – whatever comes after today, they’ll do it together.
