Notes:

okay. so in the movie Lloyd mentioned that he had been building mechs since he was a kid, and I started wondering since when Lloyd had been acting as a ninja. in the end Garmadon didn't realize that, "aha! today my son, whose existence I completely forgot about, turns so and so old! now I can finally attack the ninjago!" so I assumed that Ninjas have been active since they were twelve or thirteen years old.

Chapter 1: Mourning

Chapter Text

Garmadon's new machine fired a missile at the green ninja, but our hero dodged it. a medium-sized rocket hit the building, which a moment later began to collapse, but no one paid attention to it. After all, everyone evacuated...

-Hi Mom! I'm here. - said the blonde, entering the apartment. however, no one answered him. -Mom?!- Lloyd called, but he still didn't hear an answer. The 13-year-old went deeper into the apartment, but the redhead was nowhere to be found. suddenly there was a knock on the door...

today was September 22. the green-eyed boy left the "house" and headed towards school. a green backpack filled with school supplies, already a bit worn in some places, hung freely on his right shoulder, and a gray hoodie covered the boy's emaciated body and his blond hair. Lloyd himself walked, staring at the sidewalk, ignoring the glances of the residents filled with various negative emotions. today was his birthday. it had been a month since his mother died, and two weeks since the ninjas revealed their identities. it turned out that the mysterious heroes are: Kai and Nya Smith, Cole Blake, Jay Gordon, Zane Bennet and Gesu Yaroo, the great green ninja. the boy sighed. he was tired of it all. his uncle, Wu, decided that since the boy was forced to move in with his Father, it was too dangerous for Lloyd to continue his life as a ninja, so he replaced him with another boy. however, Lloyd doesn't care. not any more.

The lesson passed peacefully for the green-eyed boy. During breaks, he either sat outside the classroom or hid somewhere from his persecutors. and they were... his friends. ever since the ninja's identity was revealed, his friends started teasing him. I mean... Gesu is tormenting him and his "friends" were standing behind him without reacting. The bell rang to indicate that the lesson was over. Lloyd quickly packed up and left the building. suddenly something collapsed in the background. -Garmadon!- screams could be heard.-thanks Lloyd!- shouted everyone around, apart from our heroes who ran to the mech to defeat the evil Lord Garmadon.Lloyd just rolled his eyes and went in the opposite direction. battles, a.k.a. to the outskirts of the city on the border with the forest. boy liked this place. it was... peaceful there. After a dozen or so minutes, the boy reached his destination, and without thinking, he entered the forest, heading for a well-known clearing.

when the boy found himself in his beloved place, he saw an old woman kneeling by a stream flowing through the middle of the clearing. As soon as Lloyd took a step, the woman turned to face him. -Hello, boy. Will you mount? - suggested the woman. Lloyd did what she asked, and after a while he was sitting next to the stranger. -What's your name?- she asked after a while, staring at the water surface.-Lloyd. Lloyd Garmadon.- the green-eyed boy introduced himself.- Ah. are you Garmadon and Koko's child? - the woman asked. - um... yes, - Lloyd answered her, a little embarrassed by her calmness, and curious about how the stranger knew her parents. - I'm Mistake. It's very nice to meet you, young Garmadon. - The woman introduced herself, turning her head towards the interlocutor.

Lloyd looked around the huge two-story library in disbelief. wooden shelves filled with books were practically everywhere. against the wall, arranged parallel to each other with spaces practically everywhere, and some hidden in the wall near the stairs. -Come on.- Mistake said, heading to the back room, which was right behind the wooden desk where books were borrowed. Lloyd stared at this amazing sight for a moment longer, then followed the old lady.

the back room was also filled with books, but only along the walls. the room itself was about the size of his old apartment. -Do you want something to drink? - the woman asked. -Em... I'd like to. - The green-eyed man replied with a slight smile. no one had been so nice to him for a long time... Lloyd walked to the Japanese-style table in the middle and sat down at it, and after a while Mistake came with two cups and a kettle, most likely with tea. - Here. - she said, pouring it. infusion into a cup. -Thank you, ma'am. - Lloyd replied with a small smile. they both sat in silence for a while, which was broken by the hostess. -I heard about what happened to Koko. - she started. -I won't say that I'm not sad about it. Koko was a wonderful woman and had great talent and a good heart. - she said and sighed. - I don't know what you must be going through now, Young Garmadon, but I can guess. - Mistake paused to drink her infusion, then resumed her statement. - But that's not what I wanted to talk to you about, Green Warrior.

Lloyd looked at the old woman in disbelief. did she know Lloyd was the Green Ninja? or rather, he was a long time ago... - I'm very sorry, but I'm not a Ninja anymore. - the boy replied, and Mistake laughed slightly. - Just because you don't wear a mask doesn't mean you're not a warrior. you have a gift, you just have to develop it. - said the old woman. - and I want to help you develop it. After all, the real art is to see talent in what others cannot see. - she said, taking another sip of tea, and looked at the blonde's almost untouched infusion - will you drink this tea? - she finally asked.

the boy opened the door to his room and threw his backpack on the bed, then stood next to it, covered his eyes with his hand and sighed. this day was tiring. not physically, but mentally. suddenly he heard a knock on the door. - come in. - he muttered loudly enough for the person standing behind the door to hear, and after a moment, none other than Lord Garmadon was standing in the room. - where were you? - he asked bluntly. - I was going back around. After all, you and the ninja destroyed practically the entire city. - said the boy, not bothering his father with a glance. Garmadon stared at the boy for a while, then left without a word. these "quiet days" have been going on since my mother's death. actually... even when she was alive, they didn't talk to each other. the boy lifted his hand from his face and looked at his backpack, then with a sigh he got up from the bed and grabbed his backpack and headed to the desk. homework won't do itself...
