Here We Go Again

Summary:

Naruto has always given his 100% and regreted close to nothing.

He's content with his death after protecting his village. Or at least he would be if he hadn't woken up back in his twelve-year-old body.

Now he has set out to do even better than the first time.

Notes:

Hi! This is an idea that has lived in my head rent-free for a few weeks now, so I decided to finally write it! I am not sure how long I am going to continue this (might be just the first episode or the whole serie idk), which is why I decided to make a few changes to Naruto's life before death.

First of all, I am going to completely erase Boruto and the last movie. Mostly because I don't really want to dab in writing ships, at least for now, and I haven't seen Boruto so it would be hard to reference if I choose to continue this story.

Second of all, in this AU Naruto never got married nor had any kids. (again to avoid ships) As for Hinata she either died, went missing or simply moved on. You can pick your poison.

Thirdly, to keep Naruto's strength in check, so he wouldn't be too overpowered I changed a bit more of canon. In this AU Naruto became the Hokage at twenty and died at twenty five. He was still young enough that he has just started realizing that Kurama and shadow clones can't solve all his problems, but he died before he could try broadening his horizons.

I think for now those are all the important information about this AU. I hope you'll enjoy this story no matter how long it'll last. :)

Chapter 1: Prologue - the death of Naruto Uzumaki

He stared at bright sky as the last of his strength left him. The blood was pooling underneath him and black splotches clouded his vision. The medics were still far away. This was the end.

“No way out now, huh? At least the village is safe.” He closed his eyes and smiled at the thought. He has always done everything he could and regretted close to nothing. His only regret was that he became too sure of himself and it led to his end. Maybe if he just trained more or planned better.

But that wasn’t important anymore. No way to turn back time, right? 

“I think it’s time to say goodbye, Kurama.” The fox stayed silent watching as Naruto’s manifestation started to fade away. He lowered himself to be on the eye level with his host.

“I suppose it is. Everything comes to an end.” Naruto smiled and put a hand on the beast’s snout.

“Maybe we’ll meet again in another life.” He closed his eyes and let himself get lifted to the light as the last bit of pain faded away.

That was the end for Nruto Uzumaki the Seventh Hokage of Konoha village.
