Chapter Text
Gintoki stared, arms fully crossed at a letter with a cheque of 1 million yen on the table, “Kagura, we’ll have you infiltrate into Yoshiwara to meet some millionaire businessman and discuss about the funding for The Odd Jobs and make him sign this cheque. That’s the task for you tonight.”
“Why me?!” Kagura whimpered.
Shinpachi shook his head, “Because if Gin-san or me to infiltrate into Yoshiwara as the courtesan ladies, we’re going to get vexed right away and we will lost our funding.”
“Remember, his name is Kaiser Okata. You’ll show up with a placard and entertain him for an hour and we’ll be done right away.” Gintoki rested his head propped on his elbow.
Kagura huffed as she sprawled herself against the couch. Gintoki told her to get going to Hinowa’s Tea House to get her makeup and fittings done by Tsukuyo and Hinowa for the infiltration tonight and she lazily walked out of the shop lot and headed to Hinowa’s Tea House.
The plan that is, Kagura is to welcome Mr. Kaiser Okata in his limousine, entertain him during the dinner and make him sign the 1 million yen cheque. That should be easy but why did it seem that Kagura had to carry all the burden for the job tonight. Screw Gin-chan and Shinpachi! Kagura promised to bargain the 6:2:2 ratio of the income after this job be done.
Kagura got her makeup done with Hinowa’s final touch of adorning pink lipstick to her meanwhile Tsukuyo was carefully adjusting Kagura’s luxurious kimono and tightening her obi. She looked utmost beautiful tonight, both Hinowa and Tsukuyo’s hearts swelled over how Kagura had grown to be from cute to gorgeous young lady.
So now that Kagura was done with the grooming, she had to prepare a placard for her guest tonight. She borrowed Seita’s marker to write her guest’s name.
What was it again? Kaiser Okata?
That name sure rang a bell. But Gintoki had already told her that the millionaire was not the Shinsengumi’s Commander with the dictator and sadistic attitude. Ever since he became the Emperor and reformed Shinsengumi, he had stopped bothering and teasing her at some point which Kagura was really grateful for.
Kagura rushed to Yoshiwara after looking at the clock in Hinowa’s shop. She carried her placard and bid her goodbye to Hinowa, Tsukuyo and Seita. The three of them wished Kagura a good luck and smiled to her.
Upon her arrival to the red light district, Kagura strode to the expensive parlour that was decided for them to meet. Kagura waited in front of the parlour with her placard and anticipated Mr. Kaiser Okata.
For good 10 minutes, a limousine appeared and stopped in front of the parlour and Kagura thought her millionaire guest had arrived. She was halfway excited about to greet him. But to her dismay, the sadist she loathed the most in the entire world popped out from the car backseat wearing his red cape under the Shinsengumi’s ragged uniform looking like a stupid and ugly chihuahua. He approached Kagura and smirked.
Okita broke his silence, staring at Kagura, “China, you’re here for me? It’s been a while since we last seen each other.”
“No. I am not. Get going, sadist.”
“Really? But your placard.. it says my name.”
“It’s either you’re too stupid that you can’t read or–“
Yamazaki interrupted, “Kagura-san, Kaiser is right. It’s Kaiser Okita written on your placard.”
Kagura observed her placard and trying to read her handwriting carefully.
“♡ KAISER OKITA ♡”
Damn herself. She knew she was not fluent with Japanese and yet she did not bother to have anyone to verify her writing. Now she looked stupid, she admitted it.
“So who’s stupid now?” Okita sneered. Kagura blushed. She gathered her steps backwards, planning to run away from this chaos but the Shinsengumi’s Commander held her wrist close.
Okita brushed Kagura’s kimono and flicking the jiggling ornaments on her head “Well you sure got a job here wearing this and anticipating someone, huh?”
“Yes. I have an errand and now will you let me go while I am trying to be civil here.”
Kagura tried so hard not to roll her eyes. She did not want to get involved with this horrendous trash of a commander. Okita had a bemused smile decorating his face.
“How about you cancel the meeting with whoever you’re supposed to meet and entertain me instead for tonight?”
“Hell no, what would I get from associating with you, BaKaiser?”
“3 million yen. Just a dinner with me, China. We haven’t talked for so long.”
Kagura contemplated with herself. Why was Gin-chan or Shinpachi not here to help me? Those two idiots. The 3 million yen sounded tempting. She could had unlimited supply of sukonbu with that money alone and she did not intend to share it with the two men!
Kagura had a no-say since 3 million yen was at stake so she had to agree for a dinner. She sat down next Okita. Not a lie that she was enjoying the luxurious cuisine and delights served to her in while accompanying Okita to drink his expensive booze while they watched the cabaret girls performing.
But Kagura noticed Okita was not looking at the performers… she could feel his eyes were on her. People called it ogling, did they? She felt goosebumps. Was it because they had not interacted for so long?
Suddenly, Kagura felt a calloused hand wrapping her hand, Okita’s hot breath whispering to her ear, “Can you send me to a room? I don’t want to be seen wasted to my palace, aneue is going to kill me.”
This bastard was still quite obedient to his sister. It was amusing.
Kagura pursed her lips, “I don’t have time for that.”
“Please. I’ll make it 4 million yen just you to accompany me in the room.”
Kagura gulped as the amber eyes was practically beaming a love laser onto her ocean blue eyes.
“Fine.”
Kagura was carrying the tipsy, staggering Okita with the female staff leading the way to Okita’s booked parlour room. Kagura wondered if she did not meet him in front of the parlour, he would had been doing some funny stuff with the prostitute. But now she was stuck with him, God’s grief.
She laid the Kaiser on the empty futon gently. She tried to stand up from her knees but Okita grabbed her arm alarmed.
He muttered, “I hate arranged marriage. I came here to have fun with an oiran but I met you instead, how lucky I am, China?”
Kagura knew he was still intoxicated to be blabbering all the cringy stuff. He started caressing her arm, waist and down to her thigh. Kagura did not feel weirded out, ironically. She was just letting him touch her. The last time they had exchanged physical contact with each other was two years ago afterall.
“Shit, I missed you so much. You’re more beautiful than I remembered. China, do you miss me?”
Kagura stuck her tongue out, “Hell no. Go to sleep, sadist.”
Okita raised his head and scrutinised Kagura’s face. He grasped Kagura’s jaw which earned a yelp from the lady. He approached her soft skin and licked her mesmerizing pink lips before diving his head back to the pillow.
“Stupid chihuahua! Why did you kiss me?” Kagura scrubbed her lips repeatedly.
Okita choked in tears as he gripped Kagura’s finger, his eyes seemed longing for the redhead lady hovering him, “Do you want to marry me, Kagura?”
