Rooftops

Summary:

Idk I found a reel I thought was funny, intended to write a smut fic on the prompt, was too lazy to actually write the smut, let my friend read it and he said post it so here we are.

Work Text:

Clear under the moon's shine beads of red dripped onto the buildings rooftop. Rain washing away the mess before it pool at all.
The chase had lasted a while, especially tedious for both parties on account of the heavy rain. Still, Logan had decided that enough was enough. Tonight Deceit was going to be locked away, or one of them died in his efforts. Seemed the latter could be likely.

Chest heaving, Deceit finally stopped when a wide gap between the building the two were standing on had him freezing in his tracks. Too weak to shift into anything and unable to see enough balconies or pipes on the buildings edge to get him to the ground, he was stuck. About fucking time.
Logan had grown tired of the chase before it began, he was satisfied now that it was over. Deceit just stood there, both hands raised as Logan had a new gadget of his strapped to his wrist and aimed directly at him.

Though, being the one to shoot Janus dead may not have went over well. The vast majority hated the bastard, rightfully so, but the usual consequence was Logan turning him over to the police. Killing him was moral grey area... Especially as he hadn't gotten around to anything particularly heinous tonight.

Perhaps giving Janus the choice could make it seem slightly fairer in the eyes of the public. Hell, if anything he could pass it off as an accident and occasionally question his decision five years later.

Cautiously, he took a couple steps forward. Distance maintained, but Deceit could better hear him despite the heavy rainfall and bustling noise of the city below them.

"Deceit."

The subtle movement of his adversary's mask served as enough acknowledgement. Really all Logan could see were his eyes, and they stared back at him blankly. As if the prospect of being shot between them raised no alarms in the bastard's head...

"If the past few years are anything to go by, you have no plans to cease with your... hobbies. I could simply end this here."

A blue light flickered on from the weapon on his wrist. Uncharacteristically cartoonish of him, but it was important the threat went across.

"However, you do have the choice to keep whatever semblance of dignity you possess."

A beat of silence passed, Logan properly considering what was about to leave his mouth.
"Jump."

This height was more than enough to take someone's life, especially if they're in Deceit's state.
Somewhere in the far back corners of Logan's mind he briefly wondered what possessed him to give Janus the choice here. Why didn't he just shoot Deceit uncaring of what came of him afterwards. Even if his reputation with the public would take a probably temporary hit, the city's biggest threat would be gone. Priorities, right? What about the way Deceit's eyes slowly dropped from meeting his own and traveled down Logan's stature had him praying the man would just jump so he didn't have the pull the trigger his thumb rested faintly over.

The rain beating down and soaking his suit cooled Logan's apparently burning skin. When had the usually conveniently light armor become so suffocating? And why was Deceit not responding?

The realization of Deceit's lack of response was enough to draw Logan from his thoughts. Was he giving himself time to recover just enough to make an escape? Should he just shoot him now?

"I appreciate the *kind* offer, Logic. Here I thought, you never liked me."
Logan was quick to increase the pressure his thumb had over the trigger when Deceit suddenly dropped his hands.
"Though, if I did desire to kill myself I'd probably jump from the erection you're sporting. I always thought the moonlight did me justice."

Logan felt his throat go dry, not really wanting to glance down in fear of Deceit managing to disappear somehow.
Not that he necessarily needed to. Once the call to attention was made Logan lost the ability to hyperfocus on his target.

"Logic, Logic, Logic. I always had a feeling you enjoyed our back and forth more than you let on."

Deceit was suddenly walking towards him. Logan took his shot, breath turning shallow when Deceit avoided the attempt nimbly. He'd been limping mere seconds ago.

"Can't say I've never indulged in the thought.. Leaving you with a different set of scars than usual, couple teeth marks If you'd let me."

And Deceit was in his face. He should've shot the fiend when he had the chance.

"Did you enjoy it? Thinking you're ahead? That you'd finally get rid of me? Or did you know deep down... you'd be quite bored with me gone."

Logan tried to back away but for every step he took Deceit took on towards him. Before Logan could even think to do much else his chin was held firmly between gloved fingers.

"Won't you give in to our fantasies, my dear? A night of passion right here. Beneath the moonlight as showers pour down against our backs. The natural beauty of the world enveloping us for a night... A night that will stay locked in the back our minds. A memory we won't allow to resurface until the quiet of the night while we try to chase the same blissful pleasure alone.."

... Damn snakes and their silver tongues. Logan stared, painfully aware his gaze wasn't as nonchalant as he'd wished it was. This was one of, if not the tallest building in the city so they'd only really be seen by birds, perhaps a random satellite. Still. The idea of sex on a rooftop in the rain with his enemy was as ridiculous sounding... as it was strangely appealing. Logan had long accepted the fact the whole superhero thing deteriorated his sanity. No normally functioning person would even consider this.

Yet here he was, grasping at Deceit's collar.
"..You're vile."

"Thank you."
