Now little is known about personas in general. Of course, this is also because the people who know of the existence of personas are already quite small in the first place. Because of that, knowledge of personas is small.
General knowledge to those who now of it is that personas are the manifestation of the human race's collective consciousness. Even if they lived in a world where mythical beings are able to be summoned and paranormal abilities run about knowledge on things like these are just scarce to say the least.
So, when a fifteen-year-old Nakahara Chuuya suddenly began experiencing dreams connected to Arahabaki, he didn't question it much.
It started slowly at first. He would feel himself floating in nothingness as his body moves without his command. Sometimes when he felt his head a little clearer he could hear the orders of a boy his age.
As he grew he learned to except the dreams and ignore it. But, with him growing older the dreams also grew with him.
The first time he heard a voice; he woke up in shock. Not because of the appearance of a voice, but what it said.
“Arahabaki.” It’s name was said loud and clear.
The thing that had been his bane of existence. Was it also the reason these dreams started?
Ever since he heard Arahabaki’s name being spoken. Suddenly, everything felt a bit more real. Now when he dreams he would be able to see things. It still isn’t the clearest but he could make out blobs and shadows of the things he’s supposed to fight. And did he ever mention that? It turns out he was being forced to fight creatures he doesn’t recognize.
At first he would hear the shattering of glass accompanied by the sound of gun shot. But, now? He hears a different voice from the one he first knew. This voice held the same monotone tone as the previous one but also had some noticeable differences. The biggest one? The tone it held. The previous voice still had some sort of detachment towards the people(?) he orders while this one had a hint of concern and worry.
So, imagine his shock when he finally met the owner of the voice in the real world.
Now, it all started when that bandaged bastard invited him to welcome a new member to the agency. Which, what type of idiot invites their enemy to a party with new members? Well…… at least he wasn’t alone in his suffering. The Akutagawa twins were invited and so was Tachihara. While it’s true they managed to defeat Dostovsky that doesn’t mean they were automatically friends.
“Chuuya-san!” Kenji yelled from across the room. A smile crept across his face. The boy has always been too happy for his own good. But, having the hunting dogs here was a little uncomfortable. Apparently Kenji the sweet boy somehow made friends with one of their members and decided to invite them too.
“Who’s the new guy?” he heard Tachihara asked. His answer was met with a wave of: “I don’t know.”
“He should be here in a couple of seconds.” Ranpo, that infuriating detective declared. Yes, he still held a grudge against him.
True to his word the president came in leading a younger looking boy. The boy had silver hair he wore black pants paired with a t shirt and a jacket.
The boy’s features were ordinary but what surprised him was his voice. “My name is Narukami Yu. You can call me Yu.” The boy said. “Now, Yu here decided to intern with us. So, please be nice to him alright?” the president said before mentioning off handedly. “He’s also from the country side like you, Kenji.”
At the mention of his name Kenji visibly lit up. “You’re also from the country side, Yu-san?” The Yu-san in question answered. “Well, I was born in the city but I’ve been living in a town for the past year or so.” They continued to converse.
