Chapter Text
Kara has been busy lately.
She would fly away for minutes in the middle of doing something or in the middle of a casual conversation with Lena. "Inspiration." She said. And it confused Lena. Lena's mind becomes a curious little cat, wondering what's hidden from her girlfriend's busy unknown work. Also, she wants to know what kind of thing could drag her loyal clingy girlfriend away from her "attractive charming witch".
Here she goes again.
"Oh, I have to go for a while, baby." Kara exclaims suddenly when she is browsing the website. While Lena now is reading her herbology book.
"Is there something emergency?" Lena's head titles up from her book, but only to watch her girlfriend flying away in one swoop. A sigh escapes her lips as she pays her attention back to the book.
A minute later, the blondie whooshes back and breaks into the utility room without telling Lena that she's back.
Lena saw the blondie. A brow cocked up as Lena feels that Kara is deliberately avoiding her. Triggered by curiosity, Lena quickly puts her book down and strikes into the utility room as well.
"What are you doing, babe?"
Kara startles as she hears Lena's voice, her calm but there is definitely a little bit of mischief hiding in it. "Umm... I..." Kara turns around as she pushes a box behind her. She stares at the emerald eyes. She wants to keep the secret; she wants to let out a little white lie to her girlfriend. But these eyes, these beautiful but awe emerald eyes, pierced into her soul like a sword. No, she could never lie to Lena after seeing her eyes, after seeing her face, no.
"I saw you finding leaves for your witchcraft. So I found the leaves you may need as much as I can. I wanted to give them to you next week as a surprise but now here we are." Kara confesses, meekly pushing her little treasure box to Lena as if a puppy who wants to get praised. And Lena's heart has already melted at Kara's words and her sparkling puppy eyes.
"I got bay leaves, apple tree leaves. And this one, it's birch leaves, I found it at the park we always go to for a walk. Oh, and the dandelion leaves, I sneezed a lot when I picked them, haha." The exhibition gets more and more heated as Kara gradually gets more excited; her voice pitches up as the treasures are displayed in front of her beloved witch.
"Oh, Kara..." Lena sighs with a smile, trying to stop the excited puppy, but obviously, her calm voice isn't enough to do so.
Kara keeps going, her excitement reaches another level. Her hands fly into the box and line the leaves. "And this! Raspberry leaves. Rao, I really like raspberry flavor so much! And here are borage leaves, and thistle leaves, and, and fennel leaves..."
"Kara, Kara..." Lena sighs but her eyes are full of affection. "Kara!" Her voice gets louder.
The excited one suddenly stopped as she heard her name. She looks at Lena, with her bottom lip jugs out into a piteous pout, her cute face now is with confusion and upset. "You don't like it?" Her puppy eyes shoot a pang of guilt into Lena's heart as if Lena abandoned her.
"No, that's not what I meant. Kara." Lena coos holding Kara's hands into hers. "No. Of course I like it. I just, you know, you don't need to tell me all of them." Now the pair of blue eyes are full of confusion. "I stopped you cause I can't wait to tell you how much I like them, how grateful I am for what you did to me, to tell you I love you, darling." A kiss is pressed against the blondie's lips to reassure her.
"I love you and thanks for what you did for me, Kara."
Even though some of them actually will be poisonous if I add them into the witchcraft; even though I don't need all of them; even though I in fact need their seeds instead of leaves. But you gave them to me, so I'll keep them all.
